Psychic Kids and Other Worldly Monsters Pt. 3 (Stranger Things OCs)
Everyone is on the trail of Will Byers but they are all being lead in different directions. His family finds a monster, his friends find a psychic kid, and the police found a lab. Will they be able to find him before it’s too late.
Judith Byers’ P.O.V.
I was woken up in the morning by my mom’s voice. “Will? Will? Sweetheart, can you hear me? Will? Please… Will… It’s me.”
I got up and went into Will’s room, with Jonathan following quickly behind me, where whatever happened the night before happened. “It’s me. Just talk to me. Talk to me. Just say something,” she said to the lightbulb
“Mom?” he said.
“Jonathan, Judith. Come here. Come here.”
“Mom, what is this?” he asked.
“Come here,” she insisted. We sit down next to her.
“What’s going on?” he asked again.
“It’s Will, he’s trying to talk to us.”
“He’s trying to talk to you?”
“Yes, through… through the lights,” she told him.
“Mom-”
“I know. I know.”
“I saw it to Jonathan,” I told him. “Last night.”
“Just… just watch. Will, your brother’s here. Can you show him what you showed us baby?” The lightbulb flickered, it wasn’t a lot, but it was a sign.
“Did you see that?” I asked.
“It’s the electricity, Jude. It’s acting up, it’s the same thing that fried the phone.”
“No! It is not the electricity, Jonathan. Something is going on here,” she insisted. “Yesterday, the wall-”
“What? What about the wall?”
“I don’t know. I don’t know.”
“Mom, first the lights, then the wall?”
“I just know that Will is here.”
“No, mom.”
“Maybe if I just got more lamps.”
“No, mom,” Jonathan said again. “You don’t need more lamps. You need to stop this, okay?”
“But she’s right, I saw it, I saw everything. He isn’t just missing. There’s something going on here,” I told him.
“No, there isn’t. He is just lost. People are looking for him, and they’re going to find him.”
“Okay,” she relented.
“This isn’t helping.”
“Okay. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.”
“Can you do me a favor, mom? Can you just try and get some sleep? You too Judith?” he asked us.
“Yeah,” we both said.
“Can you do that for me?”
“I just need to sit here for a minute,” she said.
“Alright, I’ll go make breakfast.” After that he got up and left.

Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
We were busy in the basement of Mike’s house trying to find a way to get some time outside.
“Just tell your parents that you have AV club after school. That’ll get us at least a few hours for Operation Mirkwood,” Mike told us.
“You seriously think the weirdo knows where Will is?” Lucas asked.
“Just trust me on this, okay?”
“Okay.”
“Did you get the supplies?” Mike asked.
“Yeah. Binoculars… from ‘Nam. Army knife… also from ‘Nam. Hammer, camouflage bandana… and the wrist rocket.” He listed, taking out several items that have never been to ‘Nam.
“You’re going to take out the Demogorgan with a slingshot?” Dustin asked.
“First of all, it’s a wrist rocket. And second of all, the Demogorgon’s not real. It’s made up.”
“How can you say that with everything we’ve seen?” I pointed out.
“But if there is something out there, I’m gonna shoot it in the eye… and blind it.”
“Dustin, Oliver. What did you guys get?” Mike asked us.
“I got a first aid kit, a knife, another knife, a spare taser my dad keeps around the house, and my sister’s old softball bat,” I listed.
Dustin poured out a bunch of snacks on the table. “So, we’ve got… Nutty Bars, Bazooka, Pez, Smarties, Pringles, Nilla Wafers, apple, banana, and trail mix.”
“Seriously?” Lucas asked.
“We need energy for our travels, for stamina,” he told us. “And besides why do we even need weapons anyway? We have her.” He was referring to Eleven.
“She shut one door!” Lucas yelled at him.
“With her mind,” Dustin pointed out. “Are you kidding me? That’s insane. Imagine all the other cool stuff she could do. Like… I bet… that she could make this fly!” he said excitedly holding up Mike’s Millennium Falcon model. It would be pretty cool to see it fly. “Okay concentrate, okay.” He dropped the Falcon right in front of her and it crashed on to the floor. “Okay, one more time. Okay. Use your powers, okay?” He dropped it again.
“Idiot,” me and Lucas said simultaneously.
“She’s not a dog,” Mike tells him.
“Boys! Time for school!” Mrs. Wheeler shouted from upstairs. We all grab our stuff and Mike said bye to Eleven and we left for school.

Sasha P.O.V.
Nancy walked into class right before the bell rang. That wasn’t the strange part. The strange part was that Barb wasn’t already here, when I first got to class and she wasn’t there I assumed she was walking and talking with Nancy. But she wasn’t.
“Did you see Barb?” I asked, she shook her head.
“You haven’t seen her anywhere?” I shook my head.
We both looked at each other confused. Barb wouldn’t miss school unless she had the plague, which begged the question, where the hell was she?

Anthony Reed’s P.O.V.
We were driving up to the lab, Hopper in the drivers seat, me in shotgun, Powell and Callahan in the back.
“There she is. Emerald City.” Powell said.
“I heard they make space weapons in there.” Callahan said
“Space weapons?” I asked. Oliver talked a lot about stuff like that but it sounded like nonsense.
“Yeah. You know, like, Reagan’s Star Wars.” Callahan replied. “I guess we’re gonna blow the Ruskies to smithereens.”
We pulled up to the entrance.
“Hey can I help you?” The guard asked.
“Uh, yeah. We’re here for a tour.” Hopper told him.
“Oh, we don’t give tours.”
“Okay… A quick look around.”
“You have to get clearance for that. You can contact, uh… Rick Schaeffer at the Department of Energy/“
“Maybe you seen on TV. We got a local kid that’s missing.” Hopper told him. “We have reason to believe that he might have snuck in here.”
“Life I said, you have to speak to Mr. Schaeffer.”
Hopper turned off the engine and took his hat off. “What’s your name?”
“Patrick.”
“Patrick, I got a panicked mayor, and I got reporters breathing down my neck, and I got a very upset mother. You see my partner here? His son is friends with the missing boy so he’s been riding my ass to get him found. Now, I know the kid’s not in there but I gotta check this box. Patrick, would you do me a favor? Would you speak to your boss and see what you can swing for us? I’d really appreciate it. I’m talking ten minutes, tops.”

Anthony Reed’s P.O.V.
“And you think this missing boy may have crawled through there?” One of the officials from the lab asked, referring to the sewer drain.
“Well, that was the idea.” I told him. I looked at the large building and wondered what kind of weird shit they’re experimenting with in there.
“Yeah, I just don’t see how that’d be possible. We’ve got over a hundred cameras. Every square inch covered, plus all my guys. No one breaks in here. Certainly not some kid.”
“Those cameras, you keep the tapes?” Hopper asked.
We then went inside to get a look at the footage. We passed by an area closed off with radioactive symbols over it.
“If you don’t mine me asking, what do you guys do in here?” Hopper asked him.
“My son, he reads comic books about these guys who get powers from radioactivity, are you trying to make your own spider-man?” I asked, half joking.
“You’re asking the wrong guy.” He chuckled.
“Staying one step ahead of the Russians?” Hopper asked.
“I expect. Something like that.”
“Who’s in charge here?”
“That’d be Dr. Brenner.”
“And he builds the space lasers?” Callahan asked, completely serious.
“Space lasers?”
“Ignore him.” I told the official.
We went to the surveillance room where they put in the tape from the night Will went missing.
“This is the night of the 6th and 7th we’re seeing here?” Hopper asked.
“That’s correct.” He confirmed. After a little bit of static the tape resumed as normal, only it wasn’t, something was off about it.
“Is that it?” Hopper asked.
“Like I said, we would have seen him.”
We left the building and went back to our car.
“Night of the 7th, we had a search party out for Will. You remember anything about that night?” Hopper asked us.
“Hmm, not much to remember. Called it off.” Callahan replied.
“‘Cause of the storm.” Powell realized.
“Yeah, a lot of rain that night.”
“Didn’t see a lot of rain on the tape.” I pointed out.
“What are you two thinking.” Powell asked us. Me and Hopper have been on the same page about most things since high school and I could tell that we were on the same page about this.
“I don’t know. But they’re lying.” He said.

Sarah Reed’s P.O.V.
We were sitting at lunch. Me, Sasha, Ava and Judith. Nancy was sitting with Steve and his friends.
“Hey, did you guys see Barb today?” Sasha asked us.
“No, why?” Ava asked.
“I didn’t see her in class. She never misses class.” Sasha told us. That was weird, she never skipped willingly.
“I’m sure she just has some kind of doctor thing and had to miss the morning classes.” I reassured her, and myself.
“I don’t know. Something strange is going on here. First Will went missing, now Barb.” Judith commented.
“Judith, you can’t think like that. Will’s going to be fine, the chief’s going to find him soon and Barb is alright.” Ava tried to comfort her. But the look in Judith’s eyes showed she wasn’t convinced.

Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
At recess we were looking for rocks for Lucas’ wrist rocket.
“How about this one?” Mike asked.
“Too big for the sling.” Dustin told him.
“I think I got a few.” I called. They came over and I held them up.
“They’re perfect.” Lucas praised. I stuffed them into my pockets.
“So do you think Eleven was born with her powers, like the X-Men, or do you think she aquifer them like… like Green Lantern?” Dustin asked us.
“Well, the ring is an external factor, without it Green Lantern is powerless. Flash is a better example.” I pointed out.
“She’s not a superhero. She’s a weirdo.” Lucas said, scornfully.
“Why does that matter? The X-Men are weirdos.” Mike defended.
“If you love her so much why don’t you marry her?” Lucas teased.
“What are you talking about?” Mike asked. Was this kid blind, or stupid, or both.
“Mike, seriously?” Lucas asked.
“What?” Wow, he really was oblivious.
“You look at her all like, ‘hi, El! El! El! El! I love you so much! Would you marry me?’” Lucas said, mockingly hugging Mike and getting on one knee. Me and Dustin were laughing.
“Shut up, Lucas.” Mike told him.
“Yeah, shut up, Lucas.” Our bullies, Troy and James, told him, walking up to us. “What are you losers doing back here?”
“Probably looking for their missing friend.” James laughed.
“That’s not funny. It’s serious. He’s in danger.” Dustin told him.
“I hate to break it to you, Toothless, but he’s not in danger. He’s dead. That’s what my dad says. He said he was probably killed by some other queer.” Troy said as he and James laughed. Oh things that I could’ve said to him, how his dad was an alcoholic, he only bullied us because he was ashamed of his own face, how his dad meant that he probably killed Will, or that he wished that he was in Will’s place then. But it would only have gotten all of us beaten up and we didn’t need that.
“Come on. Just ignore them.” Mike said as he tried to walk past them. The assholes tripped him making him land on his face.
“Watch where you’re going, Frogface.” They said high fiving. We rushed to help him up.
“You all right?” We asked.
“Yeah.”
“Hey, how about this one?” Dustin asked holding up a rock.
“Yeah.” We all agreed.
“Yeah, this is the monster killer.” Lucas said holding it up.

Anthony Reed’s P.O.V.
We walked into the library and went up to the front desk.
“Hey, Marissa, how you doing?” Asked Hopper.
“You have a lot of nerve showing up here.” She replied.
“What?”
“You could’ve at least called and said, ‘Marissa! Hey, it’s not gonna work out. Sorry I wasted your time. I’m a dick.’” Me and Powell looked at him, not even surprised, just tired.
“Yep. I’m sorry. Uh… Maybe we could go out again next week?” Hopper suggested. We then had to endure the longest few seconds in history. “Newspapers? You guys got newspapers around here?”
“We have the New York Times, the Post, all the big ones.” She told us while she showed us the cataloging system. “Organized by year and topic. You can find the corresponding microfiche in the reading room.”
“Okay, we’re looking for anything on the Hawkins National Laboratory.”
“Well, shouldn’t you be looking for that missing kid?”
“Yeah. We are. Uh so why don’t you start with the Times and we’ll check out the Post.”
She scoffed and walked off.
“The librarian?” Me and Powell asked him at the same time. We then got to work looking through anything we could to find information on the lab and anything that could’ve led us to Will. A lot of stuff came up about a lawsuit involving a woman named Terry Ives and Dr. Brenner.

Ava Sinclair’s P.O.V.
We were in the parking lot by the Reed twins’ Camaro. We talked about the usual stuff, trying to feel comfortable.
“So, got any new music?” Sasha asked me.
“Okay, this is stupid.” I said. “Yes, we’re all worried about Barb and Will. Both seemingly up and vanished.”
“There’s something I should tell you guys.” Judith said, clutching her coat.
“What is it?” Sarah asked.
“A couple of nights after Will went missing, we got a phone call.” Judith started to explain.
“What the hell is going on over there?” Sasha asked. She pointed at a somewhat agitated Jonathan talking to Steve and his friends. Judith immediately ran over and we followed her, because why not.
“What’s going on?” Nancy asked, who got there the same time we did.
“Here’s the starring lady.” Tommy said.
“What?” Nancy asked.
“This creep was spying on us last night.” Carol told her.
“What? There’s no way that’s true.” Judith defended her brother.
“He was probably gonna save this one for later.” She handed Nancy a picture. Some of us went to look at the picture while Judith stayed to give Jonathan a look that was begging him to say it wasn’t true. The picture was of Nancy taking off her clothes at Steve’s house.
“Really, Jonathan?” I asked him. He was a good guy, but this is just wrong.
“See, you can tell that he knows it was wrong, but… Man, that’s the thing about perverts… It’s hardwired into them. You know, they just can’t help themselves.” Steve said.
“Hey, back off.” Judith said, shoving Steve. That only made him laugh.
“Or what?” Steve asked. He, like everyone, knew that Judith couldn’t hurt a fly even if she wanted to. “So… we’ll just have to take away his toy.”
“No, please, not the camera.” Jonathan pleaded.
“Hey, man, knock it off.” I told him. Jonathan shouldn’t have taken those pictures but that camera was his holy grail. He treasured the damn thing.
Jonathan tried to get to Steve but Tommy blocked him. “No, no, wait. Tommy, Tommy. It’s okay. Here you go man.” Steve looked like he was going to hand him the camera, but instead he dropped it right onto the pavement.
“Come on, let’s go. The games about to start.” Steve said. Walking off. I’ve never seen Jonathan look so defeated, and Judith, she never looked so angry. So while Nancy grabbed one of the shreds of the pictures, one with Barb on it, Judith called out, “Steve!”
He turned and Judith kicked him right in the balls, and it was amazing.
“Holy shit.” Sasha shouted.
Sarah just couldn’t stop smiling.
And I cheered.
Judith, who only just then realized what she had done, simply walked back and helped Jonathan.

Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
We walked out bikes up the hill to a chain link fence. It was exhausting.
“El!” Mike shouted to the nearly bald girl. She looked like she was catatonic. “You okay?” He asked.
She nodded.
He patted the back of the seat on his bike. “Hop on, we only have a few hours.”
We then rode off to the woods.
Mike and El were ahead of us a bit and the were talking, silently, to each other.

Judith Byers’ P.O.V.
After what was the most thrilling experience of my life I went back home. Mom had set up a bunch of Christmas lights around the house in order to track where Will is. Suddenly the lights started flashing. The two of us started following the path. It led to an area of the house blocked off by some stuff so we moved it and found a bundle of Christmas lights.
“Will, are you here?” Mom asked.
The bundle lit up.
“Okay, good, good, good, good. Are you- Um, blink once for yes, twice for no.” She told him. “Can you do that for me sweetie. Can you do…” The lights blinked once. “Oh, good boy. Good boy.” We both hugged the lights. While she asked the question I was just happy to know that we had some way of talking. I couldn’t believe that I nearly told people about what me and mom were doing. They would never believe me.
When mom realized the yes no system wasn’t working she pained the alphabet onto the wall under some lights so Will could actually talk to us. Whatever he’s going to say is going to be crazier than any high me and my friends went through.

Anthony Reed’s P.O.V.
“I don’t know, chief.” Powell told Hopper.
“Don’t know what?”
“This lady, Terry Ives, sounds like a real nut to me. Her kid was taken for LSD mind control experiments? She’s been discredited, claim was thrown out.”
“Okay forget about her.” Hopper told him. “Take a look at this. Dr. Martin Brenner.”
“Who?”
“Brenner. He runs Hawkins lab.”
“Okay?” Powell asked, still wondering what was going on.
“You don’t find that interesting?”
“Not really. He was involved in some hippie crap back in the day, so what?”
“No, this isn’t hippie crap. This is CIA-sanctioned research.” I told him.
“Doesn’t mean he had anything to do with our kid.”
“Come on. Look at that. Hospital gowns. All of ‘em. Now that piece of fabric that the teacher found by the pipe. That sure looked like a hospital gown to me, high? Am I wrong?”
“I don’t know, chief.”
“Come on man. Work with me here. Reed believes me.”
“That’s because you two’ve been best friends since about the eighth grade.” Powell pointed out. He did have a point.
“I’m not saying that there’s some grand conspiracy. I’m just… I’m saying maybe something happened. Maybe Will was in the wrong place at the wrong time and that he saw something that he shouldn’t have.”
“It’s a reach.”
“It’s a start.” I insisted.
“Hey, Powell, is the chief with you?” Callahan asked over the radio. Hopper grabbed the radio from his shoulder.
“Hopper here. What do you got?”
After hearing what he said we ran out to the car and sped off with the sirens on. I didn’t believe any of it. It couldn’t be true.

Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
We were still walking, long into the dark. We came across Will’s house and we stopped.
“Here.” Eleven said.
“Yeah, this is where Will lives.” Mike told her.
“Hiding.” She said.
“No, no, this is where he lives. He’s missing form here. Understand?” Mike insisted. He was talking to her like he’s trying to train a puppy, a puppy who likely had the power to rip you limb from limb.
“What are we doing here?” Lucas asked annoyed.
“She said he’s hiding here.” Mike said.
“Um… No!” Lucas said angrily.
“I swear, if we walked all the way out here for nothing-” Dustin complained.
“I’m with you on that one, buddy.” I panted and patted him on the shoulder.
“That’s exactly what we did. I told you she didn’t know what the hell she was talking about!”
“Why did you bring us here?” Mike asked.
“Mike. Don’t waste your time with her.”
“What do you want to do then?”
“Call the cops, like we should have done yesterday.”
“We are not calling the cops!”
Sirens started blaring and me and Dustin were the only ones who noticed because Mike and Lucas were too busy bitching to each other.
“Guys!” We yelled at them, finally getting them to notice.
They were a couple of cop cars and an ambulance. They were heading for the reservoir.
“Will.” Mike said. We ran for the bikes and followed them.

Judith Byers’ P.O.V.
We were finally done with the letters.
“Okay, baby, talk to us.” Mom told him.
“Talk to us, where are you?” I pleaded.
The R blinked, then the I, and the g, h, t, h, e, r, e,.
“‘Right here.’” Mom questioned. “Right here? I don’t know what that means. I need you to tell us what to do, what should I do? How do we get to you? How do we find you? What should I do?”
R. U. N.
The monster in the wall bulged out and the lights went haywire. It tore through the wall and roared. Me and mom did the only sane thing and ran the hell out of there.

Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
We raced after the cars. Since we were riding bikes we went significantly slower. When we got to the reservoir there were fire trucks and ambulances and lot of cop cares. There were trying to get something out of the water.
It looked like Will. But it wasn’t. Right?
“It’s not Will. It can’t be.” Mike assured us.
“It’s Will. It’s really Will.” Lucas said.
“No.” I said “It can’t be him.”
We turned and walked away.
“Mike-” Eleven started to say.
“‘Mike’? ‘Mike,’ what?” Mike yelled. “You were supposed to help us find him alive. Your said he was alive! Why did you lie to us? What’s wrong with you? What is wrong with you?”
“Mike…”
“What?”
“Mike, come on, don’t do this man.” Lucas said.
“Mike.” We all called for him as he rode of with his bike.
Eventually everyone went back home. He was gone, and there was nothing we could have done to save him.

Psychic Kids and Otherworldly Monsters Pt. 2 (Stranger Things OCs)
With Will Byers missing the town is sent into panic and turmoil. His mother and siblings are worried sick, the Chief is throwing his all into this case, and his friends disobey direct instructions to remain home so they can go and search for their friend, instead they find a girl with no hair.
Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
We got back to Mike’s house with the weird girl, we’re in the basement asking her a bunch of questions.
“Is there a number we can call fro your parents?” Mike asks
“Where’s your hair? Do you have cancer?” Dustin asks.
“Did you run away?” Lucas asks.
“Where did you come from?” I ask.
“Are you in some kind of trouble?” Mike asks.
“Is that blood?” Lucas asks reaching out to try and touch the blood but Mike slaps his hand away.
“Stop it, you’re freaking her out!” Mike yells at him.
“She’s freaking me out!” Lucas retorts. It is kind of creepy how we just found her standing alone in the rain.
“I bet she’s deaf.” Dusting thinks, he claps his hands in front of her making her flinch back. “Not deaf.”
“All right, that’s enough, all right? She’s just scared and cold.” Mike defends her from anymore questions or inquisitions. He runs over to a basket and grabs some clothes for her. “Here these are clean, okay.”
She then gets up and nearly takes her shirt off right in front of us. Holy shit. We all turn around except for Mike who stops her.
“NO, NO, NO!”
“Oh my god.”
“Holy shit.”
“What the hell.”
“See over there? That’s the bathroom. Privacy. Get it?” Mike shows her where to change. All right seriously though what the shit was that, she nearly got naked in front of us, like what the hell. Mike tries to close the door for her and she says her first word, no. That’s totally not anticlimactic.
Mike gets back to the main area of the basement. “This is mental.” Dustin accurately describes the situation.
“At least she can talk.” Mike says optimistically.
“She said no and yes. Your three year old sister says more.” Lucas points out.
“She tried to get naked.” Dustin says, at least someone’s thinking about the important things here.
“There’s something seriously wrong with her. Like, wrong in the head.” Lucas says.
“She just went like.” Dustin then mimes taking a shirt off.
“I bet she escaped from Penthurst.” Lucas theorizes.
“From where?” I asked.
“The nuthouse in Kerley County.” Lucas explains.
“You got a lot of family there.” Dustin jokes.
“Bite me. Seriously though, think about it. That would explain her shaved hair and why she’s so crazy.”
“Why she went like.” Dustin again lifts a fake shirt off of himself, alright seriously dude I think we moved pass this.
“She’s an escapee is the point. She’s probably a psycho.”
“Like Micheal Myers.” Dustin adds
“Exactly. We should’ve never brought her here.” Lucas says.
“So you just wanted to leave her out in that storm?” Mike asks him.
“Yes. We went out to find Will, not another problem.”
“I agree with Mike on the fact we couldn’t have just left her out there. I do think we should focus on Will.” I throw in my point of view.
“I think we should tell your mom.” Dustin says to Mike.
“I second that.” Lucas supports.
“She could get the girl help.” I support.
“Who’s crazy now?” Mike says to us.
“How is that crazy?” Lucas asks.
“Because, we weren’t supposed to be out tonight, remember?” Mike reminds us. Oh shit, I see his point now.
“So?” Lucas asks.
“So if we tell my mom and she tells your mom and your mom and your dad…” He says.
“Oh man.”
“Our houses become Alcatraz.”
“Exactly. We’ll never find Will.” Mike finishes explaining why we shouldn’t tell our parents about the mysterious bald girl who was alone in the woods during a storm, it sounds crazy I know. “All right, here’s the plan. She sleeps here tonight.”
“You’re letting a girl-” Dustin exclaims.
“Just listen. In the morning, she sneaks around my house, goes to the front door and ring my doorbell. My mom will answer and know exactly what to do. She’ll send her back to Penthurst or wherever she comes from we’ll be totally in the clear. And tomorrow night, we go back out and this time we find Will.”
“You know you can actually be very clever when you need to be.” I say. “To bad you usually don’t need to be.”
“Shut up.” He says.
Me, Lucas, and Dustin grab our stuff and start leaving, we stop and look back at Mike talking to the girl.
“Do you really think she’s psycho?” Dustin asks.
“Wouldn’t want her in my house.” Lucas answers before leaving.
“You literally just met her.” I say shortly before following.
Dustin sighs. “Mental.” He then leaves too.

Sarah Reed’s P.O.V.
Me and Sasha are sitting on the couch, reading books, we’re not actually reading, we’re waiting for Oliver. He snuck out and hasn’t gotten back yet.
“What should we do when he gets back?” I ask my twin sister.
“What do you mean?” She asks me back.
“I mean, do we tell dad, or do we tell him not to go out again, or whatever?”
“I say we ask him what he was doing, and we listen, and decide then.” She answers. Sasha’s always been the more level headed twin, she and Ava are the ones who make sure our friend group don’t go around doing anything stupid. I on the other hand have always been a bit more reckless, I once tried to jump from my bike to hers, that’s actually the story of how I broke my arm, the first time at least.
We then hear the door open and close.
“And where have you been?” Sasha asks Oliver without looking up from her book.
“Are you guys reading?” He asks us.
“Why does that matter?” I ask him.
“It’s just that in all my life, I’ve never seen either of you read.” Oh that son of a bitch.
“We asked the question first, where were you?” Sasha asks, keeping the conversation on track.
“I was nowhere.”
“That’s impossible, you can’t be nowhere, you always have to be somewhere.” I point out.
“We were looking for Will.” He answers, slightly defeated. Oh, shit.
“All right.” Sasha replies, casually.
“You’re not upset?” He asks. Ever since mom died we took up more of a parental role for him, driving him from place to place when he needed a ride, making him breakfast and dinner.
“If you went missing, we would’ve done the same.” I tell him, to which Sasha nods.
“Thanks, I love you guys.” He says before walking upstairs to his room.
“Love you too.” We say at the same time.

Judith Byers’ P.O.V.
“All right, breakfast is ready.” Jonathan tells us putting plates down on the table.
“What? No, be careful of the poster.” Mom tells him.
“Yeah, okay. All right.” He replies. We’re all a little tired after last night, especially mom.
“I can’t eat.” She says.
“We just need you to eat mom.” I tell her.
“Listen. Listen, the Xerox place opens in, like, 30 minutes. And I don’t want you guys to go alone.” She tells us.
“Yeah, we got it.” Jonathan tells her.
“So, I’m gonna have Kern take you, ‘cause I should be here.:
“Okay.”
“And we need to make 200, 300 copies. How much is a copy?”
“Okay, mom. Mom.” We try to calm her down.
“10 cents?” She asks.
“Mom.” Jonathan finally manages to get her attention. “You can’t get like this, okay?”
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” She apologizes. I wish she would stop doing that, it’s not her fault.
“No, it’s okay.” We comfort her.
We then hear a knock at the door. Mom opens it up and Hopper’s there. “We’ve been waiting for 6 hours.”
“I know. I came as soon as I could.”
“Six hours.”
“A little bit of trust here, all right. We’ve been searching all night. Went all the way to Cartersville.” He explains.
“And?” Mom asks.
“Nothing.” He answers. Shit, shit, shit, SHIT.
“God.” Mom starts crying a bit. I hug her.
“Flo says you got a phone call?” He asks.
“Oh, yeah.”
We all walk over to the phone, Hopper picks it up and looks at the burns. “Storm barbecued this up pretty good.”
“The storm?” Mom says.
“What else?” He asks.
“You’re saying that that’s not weird?” She asks.
“No, it’s weird.”
“Can we, like, trace who made the call? Contact the-” Jonathan begins to ask.
“No, it doesn’t work like that. Now, uh, you’re sure it was Will?” Hopper asks. “Because Flo said you just heard some breathing.”
“No. It was him. It was Will. And he was scared. And then something-” Mom tells him.
“It was probably just a prank call. It was somebody trying to scare you.” Hopper tells us.
“Who would do that?” I ask.
“Well, this thing’s been on TV. It brings out all the crazies, you know. False leads, prank calls, uh.”
“No, Hopper, it was not a prank. It was him.”
“Joyce.”
“Come on, how about a little trust here? What, you think I’m making this up?”
“I’m not saying that you’re making it up. All I’m saying is it’s an emotional time for you.”
“And you think I don’t know my own son’s breathing? Wouldn’t you know your own daughter’s?” Okay, wow. I did not think that mom would go there.
“You hear from, uh, Lonnie yet?” He asks after taking a second.
“No.”
“It’s been long enough. I’m having him checked out.” Hopper says turning to leave.
“Oh, come on. You’re wasting your time.” Mom tells him. Jonathan walks out after him. Probably to ask to go to Lonnie’s himself.
“It’s going to be okay, mom.” I tell her, hugging her again. I say it without even really knowing whether or not it will be.

Anthony Reed’s P.O.V.
We got another search party going again, we’ve got dogs out and volunteers.
Hopper comes back from the Byers’. “Hey you got anything?” He asks.
“Nothing. You?” I ask.
“No, nothing but a dead phone.” He answers. “
“How’s Joyce?” I ask.
“About one step from falling off the edge.”
“She’s been a few steps for a while now, hasn’t she?” Powell replies.
“Kid’s missing, man. Show a little class.” Hopper tells him.
“All right. Come on, let’s go. We got a lot of ground to cover.”
“The chief and her, the’ve screwed before, huh?” Callahan asked. Me and Powell give him a disgusted look before going back to looking for Will.

Sasha Reed’s P.O.V.
Me, Barb, and Nancy are going over study cards for chemistry in the halls.
“When alpha particles go through gold foil, they become?” Barb asks Nancy.
“Unoccupied space.” Nancy answers.
“A molecule that can-” Barb begins to ask another question when someone grabs the cards. It’s Nancy’s new boyfriend, Steve, the asshole.
“Hey.”
“I don’t know, I think you’ve studied enough, Nance.” He tells her.
“Steve.” She starts to protest.
“I’m telling you, you got this. Don’t worry. Now, on to more important matters. My dad has left town on a conference and my mom’s gone with him, ‘cause, you know, she doesn’t trust him.” Steve tells her. I’d almost think that’s sweet if I didn’t know he just wants to get into her pants.
“Good call.” One of his annoying friends says.
“So are you in?” Steve asks Nancy.
“In for what?” She asks back. Oh come on Nance, even I know what he’s implying.
“No parents. Big house.” The other friend tells her.
“A party?”
“Ding ding ding.
“It’s Tuesday.” Nancy says.
“It’s Tuesday.” One of the assholes says mockingly. “Oh my god.”
“Come on, it’ll low key, we’ll be quiet, it’s just going to be us. What do you say? Are you in or are you out?” Steve asks.
Nancy hesitates before one of the assholes chimes in again. “Oh, god. Look.” We all turn and see Jonathan putting up missing posters of his and Judith’s younger brother Will. Judith is probably somewhere else in the school putting them up.
“Oh, god, that’s depressing.” Steve comments. Dude, come on.
“Should we say something?” Nancy asks.
“I don’t think he speaks.” The girl asshole says.
“How much you want to bet he killed him?” Boy asshole asks Steve.
“Shut up.” Steve tells him. At least he has a bit of humanity.
“Hey he just lost his brother. Show some respect assholes.” I tell them. Me and Nancy go up to Jonathan.
“Hey.” She greets him.
“Hey, Jonathan.” I say.
“Hey.” He says. Jeez, he looks terrible. Which I guess is to be expected.
“We just, wanted to say, you know, um. We’re sorry about everything.” Nancy tells him.
“Yeah, if you guys need anything just tell us.” I say to him.
“Everyone’s thinking about you.” She tells him. Not all nice thoughts though. “It sucks.”
“Yeah.” He replies.
“I’m sure he’s fine. He’s a smart kid.” I tell him.
The school bell rings and me and Nancy say goodbye since we have to go to our chemistry test.

Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
Me, Dustin, and Lucas are sitting in science class, Mike isn’t here.
“Oh, this is weird, he’s never this late.” Dustin panics a little.
“I’m telling you, his stupid plan failed.” Lucas says.
“I thought you liked his plan.” I point out.
“Yeah, but obviously it was stupid, or he’d be here.”
“If his mom found out a girl spent the night.” Dustin says.
“He’s in deep shit right about now.” Lucas says.
“Hey, what if she slept naked?” Dustin thinks out loud.
“Dude.” I look at him weird.
“Oh my god, she didn’t.” Lucas says.
“Oh, if Mrs. Wheeler tells my parents.” Dustin worries.
“You think you’d be in trouble, my dad would kill me.” I tell him.
“No way. Mike would never rat us out.” Lucas tells us.
“I don’t know.” Dustin panics.
“All that maters is, after school, the freak will be back in the loony bin, and we can focus on what really matters, finding Will.” Lucas says.
We open up our textbooks and get ready for class.

Judith Byers’ P.O.V.
Me and Jonathan are in the car heading over to Lonnie’s right now. The song Should I Stay or Should I go starts to play on the radio, Jonathan and Will always liked this song so I can only imagine how he feels listening to this song.
I can’t believe I have to see Lonnie again. He’s a dipshit who hates what his kids are like, he hates that Will is into nerdy stuff and he hates that I’m a girl and he hates that Jonathan is a loner who doesn’t like hanging out with the other kids. But there is another reason he hates me, one that proves just how much of a shit he is. One time when me and my friend Rebecca were at my house and we thought we were alone, we kissed, nothing crazy just a small quick one. But Lonnie was home and saw it, he yelled at us and kicked her out. After that she called it a mistake and never talked to me again. He said I should only like boys because that’s what normal people are like, then he had some beers and called me a mistake.
I really don’t want to see him.

Anthony Reed’s P.O.V.
We’re out by the reservoir still looking for Will. Me, Hopper, and Callahan are standing looking out over the
Callahan gets close to the edge of the cliff. “Whoa, careful. I need you alive for the next few days at least.” Hopper tells him
“Oh, hell, I could survive that.” Callahan says. Hopper laughs at that idea. “What? George Burness made the jump. And he was drunk as a skunk, he did it on a $10 bet.”
“George is a liar. You make that hump from this height, that water turns into cement. Hits you like a ton of bricks, break every damn bone in your body.”
“Nah.”
“Chief you copy?” Flo asks over the radio.
“Yeah, Flo, talk to me.”
“Hey, Chief, we got a call from over at Benny’s. I think you need to get there right away.”

Anthony Reed’s P.O.V.
We all get to Benny’s burger place. We step inside and see Benny’s body slumped over the table with a gun in his hands and flies buzzing around his head, apparently a suicide.
“Ugh, Jesus.” Callahan gags at the sight
“Suicide?” Powell questions. Hopper hums in agreement. I can’t believe this, I just took the kids to Benny’s last week, he never seemed like he would do this.
“Missing kid, suicide, you must feel like a big city cop again, huh chief?” Callahan says.
“Well, mostly dealt with strangers back then. Benny was my friend.” Hopper tells him. Benny is, was, a good guy and the idea that he would do something like this is crazy. There has to be more to this than that he would just blow his brains out. It can’t just be that.

Judith Byers’ P.O.V.
Jonathan pulls in across the street from Lonnie’s house, he takes a quick look in through the window before banging on the door.
“Hello.” He shouts.
“Yeah.” A woman responds, walking to the door. “Can I help you?” She asks.
“Yeah, is Lonnie around?” I ask her.
“Yeah, he’s out back. What do you want?”
“To look around.” Jonathan says before barging in.
“Sorry.” I whisper to her before following him.
“Hey, what do you think you’re doing? Hey!” She yells at us.
“We’ll be fast.” Jonathan.
“Will!” I shout.
“Hey, Will. Will, here?”
“Will.”
We look around the house for a few seconds before Lonnie runs in from the back yard and slams Jonathan against the wall.
“Get off.” Jonathan tells him, pushing him back a little.
“Damn, you’ve gotten stronger.” He pats Jonathan on the arm.
“Will someone please explain what the hell is going on?” The woman asks.
“Jonathan, Judith, Cynthia. Cynthia, this is Jonathan and Judith. My oldest. Come here.” He explains before hugging us.”
“Get off me, man.” Jonathan says before he pushes him again.
This is going to be a fun trip.

Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
We rode over to Mike’s to find out why he wasn’t in school today. Turns out the plan has changed and he’s keeping the girl with him.
“Are you out of your mind?” Lucas yells at him.
“Just listen to me.” Mike tries to explain.
“You are out of your mind.” Lucas tells him.
“She knows about Will.” He tells us.
“What do you mean she knows about Will?” I ask.
“She pointed at him, at his picture. She knew he was missing. I could tell.”
“You could tell?” Lucas asks skeptical.
“Just think about it. Do you really think it was a coincidence that we found her on Mirkwood, the same place Will disappeared.”
“That is weird.” Dustin points out.
“And she said bad people are after her. I think maybe these bad people are the same one that took Will. I think she knows what happened to him.”
“Then why doesn’t she tell us?” He asks before turning to the girl. “Do you know where he is?” He asks. “Do you know where Will is?” He shouts at her while shaking her.
“Stop it, you’re scaring her!” Mike defends her.
“She should be scared!” Lucas yells back. “If you know where he is, tell us! This is nuts, we have to take her to your mom.”
“No! Eleven said telling any adult would put us in danger.” That’s a pretty weird name.
“What kind of danger?” Dustin asks him.
“Her name is Eleven?” Lucas says weirded out.
“El for short.”
“Mike, what kind of danger?” Dustin asks again.
“Danger danger.” He says before making a gun with fingers and pointing it at each of us. I always thought that if I was going to be shot it’d be because one of my sisters got annoyed by my sarcasm and decided to steal our dad’s gun to kill me, not a bunch of random people doing it, I think I’d prefer my sisters killing me. Once Mike put the gun to Lucas’ head he slapped it away.
“No, no, no!” He yelled. “We’re going back to plan A. We’re telling your mom.” He runs to the door but when he opens it it slams shut, he tries again but the same thing happens and it locks. We turn to Eleven who’s nose is bleeding.
“No.” WHAT. THE. SHIT.

Judith Byers’ P.O.V.
Lonnie took Jonathan to look at his new car, I’d really of liked to take a look at it but apparently since I’m a girl I should talk about ponies and princesses with Cynthia. At the very least she managed to get me the one thing that could actually make today feel somewhat good, coffee. When I was a kid I had problems getting up in the morning so Lonnie had me drink coffee, when mom found out she was pissed and they yelled at each other. She’s upset that I still drink it but by this point I’m completely addicted to the drink.
“You’re dad’s not a complete asshole.” She tries to reassure me.
“Thanks, but I’ve known Lonnie my whole life, you’ve known him a few months. I think I can decide whether or not I think he’s an asshole.”
“Why do you hate him?” She asks.
“I think he never really wanted kids, or was just never ready for what they meant. So there was a mutual resentment from the start. He hated us for taking away his fun, we hated him for never really being a dad.” I answer before taking a sip of my drink.
“Come on, we’re leaving.” Jonathan says angrily after walking in. I nod my head before saying bye to Cynthia and walking to the car.

Anthony Reed’s P.O.V.
“Just doesn’t make any sense, Chief.” Earl tells Hopper.
“You notice anything odd about him the last few weeks?” He replies.
“No, we’re fixin’ to go fishing down the Etowah next Sunday. I mean he was looking forward to it, I know it.”
“He got any enemies you might know about? I mean, people who might not want him around?”
“The exes didn’t like him much. That’s for sure, but… nah.”
“When was the last time you saw him?” I ask.
“Yesterday. Lunch, same as always.”
“Just you and the boys?” Hopper asks.
“Yeah. Me and Henry… Well, there was this, uh, this kid. No kid did this.” Yeah, no shit. But what was a kid doing around Benny’s.
“Kid?” Hopper asks, already having the same thoughts running through his head. “What are you talking about?”
“Yeah. At lunch, uh, there was this boy that, uh… I mean, he was trying to steal food out of Benny’s kitchen. Can you imagine that?” Ballsy move, there was nothing Benny took care of more than his kitchen. Callahan stood up to grab one of the missing posters for Will. Could it really be him? Why would he be stealing food?
“This kid… what’d he look like?” Hopper asks.
“Well, he was about yea high. You know, tiny like.” He held up his hand at around five or so feet. “I didn’t get a good look at him, though. He was back in the kitchen.”
“He look like this?” Callahan asks.
“Oh, no, that’s… That’s Lonnie’s missin’ kid. No. This was a different kid. This one had really short hair. I mean, it was buzzed nearly down to the scalp.”
“Yeah, well, let’s… You know, let’s forget about the haircut. I mean, if this kid had a buzz cut… could it be Lonnie’s kid?” Hopper asks again.
“Well, I… I didn’t get a good look at him. About the right height, though. I mean, could’ve been.” Oh shit, a god damn lead.

Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
We’re all eating dinner at Mike’s house. Well, eating is generous word for it. We barely touched it.
“Something wrong with the meatloaf?” Mrs. Wheeler asks.
“Oh, no, I had two bologna sandwiches for lunch.” Dustin answers. Damn, that was a good one. I should’ve come up with that. “I don’t know why.”
“Me, too.” Lucas says.
“It’s delicious, mommy.” Nancy, who I’m sitting next to, tells her. Huh, my sisters only call dad ‘daddy’ when they are buttering him up for something, that’s how they got the car.
“Thank you, sweetie.”
“So, there’s this… special assembly thing tonight… for Will at the school field. Barb’s driving.” Huh, I never heard about any assembly. Oh.
“Why am I just hearing about this?”
“I thought you knew.”
“I told you, I don’t want you out after dark until Will is found.” Alright Mrs. Wheeler, don’t let yourself be fooled by your children.
“I know, I know, but it’d be super weird if I’m not there. I mean everyone’s going.”
“Really, my sisters aren’t going.” I tell them. I then give a ear to ear smile to Nancy. I’ve always enjoyed annoying her, it’s easier then the rest of the older siblings in our friend group.
“That’s because they’re busy with homework.” She then kicks my leg and glares at me, that makes me realize that if I keep this up she’ll make my life a living hell.
“Yeah, essays and shit.” I reply.
“Hey language.” Mrs. Wheeler scolds me.
“Sorry.”
“Just… be back by 10:00. Why don’t you take the boys too?” Oh, shit.
“NO!” We all shout at the same time.
“Don’t you think you should be there? For Will?” It’s at that moment that Eleven walks downstairs, which leads to Mike choking on his drink. To distract everyone Dustin slams his fists down on the table.
“Sorry. Spasm.” He lies.
“Oh. It’s okay, Holly. It’s just a loud noise.” Mrs. Wheeler comforts the young girl as she starts to cry.
“Nice.” Nancy sarcastically says to Dustin. The bitchiness is another reason I love annoying her.

Anthony Reed’s P.O.V.
We’re out holding another search party for Will, this time closer to Benny’s. One of the volunteers blows there whistle and we all run to them. It’s Mr. Clarke.
“Hey, what do you got?” I ask.
“Not sure.” He says. “Maybe nothing.” He holds up a small piece of fabric right by a sewer drain. “I found this, in there.”
“No way a kid crawls through there.” Powell says.
“I don’t know… a sacred enough one might. His brother said he was good at hiding.” Hopper says, standing up. Shit, what would make a kid want to crawl in there.
We then start walking along the path where the drain would go, and it leads us to a fenced off piece of land belonging to the Hawkins National Laboratory for the U.S. Department of Energy.

Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
After dinner we decided to take some meatloaf down to Eleven.
“El.” Mike calls to her. She’s messing with the radio in a small fort. “No adults. Just us and some meatloaf.” She looks at me, Lucas, and Dustin with fear. “Don’t worry. They won’t tell anyone about you. They promise. Right?”
“We never would’ve upset you if we knew you had superpowers.” Dustin tells her, which makes Mike hit him.
“What Dustin is trying to say is that they were just scared… earlier. That’s all.” Mike tells her.
“We just wanted to find our friend.” Lucas apologizes.
“Friend?” She asks.
“Yeah, friend. Will?”
“What is friend?” Oh that is just sad.
“Is she serious?” Lucas asks, to which I shrug my shoulders. “Um, a friend is-”
“Someone who you would do anything for.” Mike explains.
“You lend them your cool stuff, like comic books and trading cards” Dustin adds on.
“Dude, if she doesn’t know what friends are, I don’t think she know’s what those are.” I tell him.
“And they never break a promise.” Mike says.
“Especially when there’s spit.” Lucas says.
“Spit?” She asks.
“A spit swear means…” He then spits in his hand, then he shakes mine. “You never break your word. It’s a bond.” I look at him disgusted as I wipe the spit of on Dustin’s shirt.
“That’s super important, because friends… they tell each other things. Things that parents don’t know.” Mike tells her.

Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
Eleven sits down at our D&D table.
“What’s the weirdo doing?” Lucas asks.
“El?” Mike asks.
She then picks a piece up from the board. “Will.”
“Superpowers.” Dustin says.
Mike sits down next to her. “Did you see him? On Mirkwood?”
“Do you know where he is?” I ask her.
She slides all the pieces off the board which makes me breath a sigh of annoyance, we were in the middle of a campaign. She then flips the board over and puts the Will piece back on. “I don’t understand.” Mike says.
“Hiding.” She answers.
“Will is hiding?” He asks. She nods. “From the bad men?” She shakes her head.
“Then from who?” I ask.
She puts down the demogorgon piece. And we all look at each other afraid.

Judith Byers’
Me and mom are at home in the living room, she’s half asleep sitting in the chair while I wait to see if anybody calls. All of a sudden the phone rings, mom gets to it first and picks up. “Hello?” I walk up closer to her to hear what the other person is saying. “Hello? Who is this?”
We then hear some breathing and sounds, a voice, coming from the phone, they almost sound like Will. “Will?” I say.
“Will, it’s me.” Mom says into the phone, breaking down, I’m in tears at this point too. “Talk to me. I’m here. Just tell me where you are, honey. I can hear you. Please.”
“Mom?” Will answers in a creepy, distorted voice. We both gasp and I take a step back, I cover my mouth in shock.
“Will! Yes, it’s me. It’s me. Where are you? Where are you? Just talk to me.” She sobs before the phone sparks with electricity. She drops the phone and screams, she tries get the line again but fails and she throws the phone. We fall to the ground, crying and hugging each other as she repeatedly cries ‘no’.
Then the lights start flickering. Not all at once, but one at a time. We get up and start to follow the trail until Will’s radio turns on randomly, blaring that song they love. The lights in his room start shining brighter then ever before.
“Will.” We both whisper, as mom walks towards the lamp, grabbing it. “Will, is that you?” She asks. At this point I don’t know what to think anymore. One person experiencing this would be insane, two is crazy, but at least they can believe each other.
The light burns out and we go back to crying. Until a sound came.
It sounded like snarling and growling. And then this shape started coming out of the wall, pushing against it, it looks like a person, a big one. We scream and run out of the house and get into mom’s car.
“Oh god, oh god, oh god.” I panic as she starts the car. The song began playing again.
“Will.” Mom says again. She looks at the house and gets out of the car. She walks back to the house. And for some unknown, stupid reason, I follow. Probably because my brother is dealing with that thing, my little brother. We need to protect him.
A/N: Sorry, Pt. 2 was out later then expected, but hopefully the next part will be out sooner. Once again, we didn’t see a lot of some of the characters, I kind of shot myself in the foot by introducing so many, I have an idea for one that I’ll introduce in season 2 and one that I might use in season 4 but I’ll decide if I get there. Judith is involved in the demogorogon plot this season, so that’s cool. I’m hoping to have more Oliver and Nancy interactions in the series, the plan is that when she’s less bratty his enjoyment of annoying her will turn into mutual roasting between friends. Well that clears this up, I’ll see you next time.

Several children and teenagers try to experience the best their adolescence in the 1980s but mysterious events follow causing them to deal with a ton of bullshit.

No One P.O.V.
In the laboratory alarms were going off and the dim lights were flashing, a man in a lab coat burst through the door panicked by whatever it was that he saw in there he rushed to the elevator and pressed the button so many times that it’s a shock that he didn’t break it. When the doors finally opened he ran in and once again quickly pressed the close door button. He looked out into the hallway in fear, fear that whatever he saw was in there, fear that he wouldn’t escape it. When hungry snarling sounds came from above he slowly looked up before screaming as he was dragged up by whatever it was that was in the elevator.

Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
“Something’s coming, something hungry for blood. A shadow grows on the wall behind you, swallowing you in darkness. It is almost here.” Mike Wheeler narrated. He’s the DM for our current D&D campaign, so he had to narrate what is going on to us as we play and determine how our actions affect what is going, he also played every character other than ours so it’s always funny when he has to play a girl. I played as a chaotic good barbarian half orc who uses a war hammer and a double bladed axe named Warrok the Accused, because he was once accused of a crime he didn’t commit and was banished from his home.
“What is it.” Will Byers asked
“What if it’s the Demogorgon, oh Jesus, we’re so screwed if it’s the Demogorgon.” Dustin Henderson worried.
“Oh, please don’t be a Demogorgon.” I crossed my fingers.
“It’s not the Demogorgon.” Lucas Sinclair comforted.
“An army of troglodytes charges into the room.” Mike revealed.
“Troglodytes?” Dustin laughed at the weaker monsters than the one he expected.
“Told ya.” Lucas taunted making both him and Dustin laugh.
“Wait a minute, do you here that? That sound, boom, boom, boom, BOOM! That didn’t come from a troglodyte no that came from something else. The Demogorgon.” Mike slammed the Demogorgon miniature down onto the board. We all complained, as Dustin so eloquently put it ‘We’re in deep shit’. “Will, you’re action?”
“I don’t know.” Will replied.
“Fireball him.” Lucas said.
“But I have to roll a thirteen or higher.” Will reminded him.
“Too risky, cast a protection spell.” Dustin suggested.
“Don’t be a pussy fireball him.” Lucas argued.
“I don’t care what you do but just do something.” I told him.
“Cast protection.” Dustin insisted.
“The Demogorgon is tired of your silly human bickering, it stomps towards you, boom!” Mike narrated.
We all ended up yelling at each other, Mike yelled the Demogorgon footsteps, Dustin and Lucas shouted what they thought that Will should do, I yelled at him to make up his own mind.
“Fireball.” Will chose as tossed the dice, but the dice ended up rolling off the table.
“Where is it?”
“I don’t know.”
“Is it a thirteen?”
“I don’t know.”
We all searched through the basement trying to find the dice to see whether or not Will’s fireball hit. Eventually Mike’s mom opened the door to the basement and told Mike that we all needed to go home, he tried to tell her we’re only in the middle of the campaign and that ending now would ruin the flow. We found the dice but it was only a seven but Lucas said that since Mike didn’t see it it didn’t count. Dustin asked if any of us wanted to have the last of the pizza but we all said no. We got to our bikes and started leaving, I live closest to Mike so I didn’t have to ride long and said goodnight to everyone. I made it home, parked my bike in the garage and went inside. My dad, Anthony Reed, sat on the recliner watching TV, he works as a deputy at the police department.
“Hey Oli, how was uh the game you guys uh play where you roll the dice and you make your own characters?” He greets me.
“It went well, we had to cut it short though because Mrs. Wheeler said we had to.” I reply.
“Oh, that sucks, I’m sure you’ll be able to finish it next weekend though.”
“Yeah, I guess. Where are Sarah and Sasha?” I ask.
“They should be back soon, they went over to the Sinclair’s house.”

Judith Byers’ P.O.V.
We all sat in Ava’s room, me, Sarah Reed, Sasha Reed, and Ava Sinclair. Ava passes me the joint and I take a long drag of it before blowing out the smoke and giggling. We all sat on her floor listening to heavy metal.
“We should totally do this someday.” I giggled.
“What, make music?” Sarah asks.
“Yeah, we should all start a band.” Ava agrees.
“Yeah, yeah, give me that.” Sasha demands. I oblige and give her the dope.
“It’s amazing how you’re a twin and we’re twins and we’re in the same friend group.” Sarah points out. We’re all pretty clearly stoned.
“Hey, we twins gotta look out for each other.” I say. “If only Jonathan would start hanging out with more people, he’s always either alone or with me and Will.”
“All right, back to this band, what music would we play?” Ava asks, clearly entranced by the idea of all of us in a band.
“Easy, rock.” Sasha says.
We all agree while each taking another hit of weed.
“AVA SINCLAIR, YOU BETTER NOT BE DOING POT WITH THOSE FRIENDS OF YOURS!!!” Mrs. Sinclair shouts up to us from downstairs, now you see I am not usually afraid of most things, I could watch any horror movie, I can go on any roller coaster, but any time that I have to look Mrs. Sinclair in the eye when she’s angry and I immediately break.
“Shit, shit, shit.” I say panicked immediately throwing the joint out of Ava’s window.
“What are you doing?” Sarah and Sasha ask at the same time.
“I don’t know.” I answer.
“OF COURSE WE’RE NOT MOM!” Ava shouts back, man that girl has a pair of lungs on her.
“What are we going to do?” I ask.
“Here’s what you’re going to do, we’re going to go downstairs, you’ll let me do the talking, just whatever you do get out of the front door.” Ava explained calmly and cooly. She could lead us to rob a bank, she’d be the leader, I’d be the safe cracker, Sasha would be the muscle, and Sarah would be the one who makes sure that none of the people in the bank gets smart and tries to be a hero. I thought about us robbing a bank way too much.
We all head down stares where Lucas and Erica, Ava’s younger brother and sister, are sitting on the couch. “Hey nerd, Erica.” Ava greets her younger siblings, her nickname for Lucas causes Erica and the rest of us to laugh.
“Ava, what did you guys do up there?” Lucas asks in an insinuating tone, shit does he know.
“We listened to music and talked about boys, what do you even think would’ve happened?” Ava replies.
“You got high.” He says nonchalantly.
“Well you girls have a safe trip home.” Mrs. Sinclair says to us as a goodbye.
“Thanks Mrs. Sinclair.” I thank. Ava glares at me from straying from the plan. “I mean, nothing.”
Mrs. Sinclair gives me a weird look before turning back to watching TV with her kids.
We all get outside. “So any of you need a ride home?” Ava asks.
“No we’ll give Judith a ride.” Sarah says.
“Yeah, see you tomorrow Ava.” I bid her farewell.
Sarah and Sasha also say goodbye before we all get into the car that they share, the 1970 Chevrolet Camaro. They dropped me off at home. It looks like I’m the only one home right now, I guess Will stayed over at the Wheelers’ house, Jonathan’s probably working, mom too. Well guess I should go to bed. I wonder why the dog’s barking though, that’s going to be annoying while I go to sleep.

The next day.
Judith Byers P.O.V.
I’m woken up by my alarm clock. I get up and put on a pair of jeans and a graphic t-shirt with the band Iron Maiden on it, I then put on my grey trench coat and the hiking boots that I wear whenever I’m not hiking. I step outside and see my mom, Joyce, looking for her keys and my brother, Jonathan, making breakfast.
“Okay sweetie I will see you tonight.” She says to Jonathan.
“Yeah I’ll see you tonight.” He replies.
“Good morning sweetie.” She greets me and kisses me on my cheek.
“Oh where’s Will?” She asks.
“Oh I didn’t get him up yet, he’s probably still sleeping.” Jonathan answers.
“Jonathan, Judith, you guys have to make sure he’s up.”
“Mom I’m making breakfast.”
“I was sleeping.” My excuse is a lot worse, but hey, it’s true.
“I told you this a thousand times. Will, honey, come on, it’s time to get up.” She tells him going to Will’s room. After a few seconds she comes back. “He came home last night right?”
“He’s not in his room?” Jonathan asks.
“Did he come home or not?”
“I don’t know.” He says.
“You don’t know?” She asks getting annoyed.
“No, I was home late, I was working.”
“You’re working?”
“Yeah, Eric asked if I could cover, I said yeah, I just thought we could use the extra cash.”
“Jonathan we talked about this, you can’t take shifts when I’m working.” She sighs.
“Mom it’s not a big deal, he was at the Wheeler’s all day, I’m sure he just stayed over.” I defend my brother.
Mom goes over to the phone to call Mrs. Wheeler to see if Will is over there. If he’s not then he probably went to the Henderson’s.
“Hi Karen, it’s Joyce, hi. Is that Will I heard back there? Will didn’t spend the night? Uh, you know I think he just left early for school. Thank you so much. Bye.
Well shit, he’s not at the Wheeler’s, but like mom said, he’s just probably at school. Right?

Oliver Reed P.O.V.
I finish biking over to school and I meet Mike, Dustin and Lucas by the entrance.
“That’s weird, I don’t see him.” Mike says, referencing Will who’ mom says wasn’t there when they all woke up this morning.
“I’m telling you, his mom’s right. Probably just went to class early again.” Lucas reassures him.
“Yeah, he’s always paranoid Gursky’s gonna give him another pop quiz.” Dustin laughs.
“Step right up ladies and gentlemen. Step right up and get your tickets for the freak show. Who do you think would make more money in a freak show, midnight, frog face, toothless, or the autistic kid.” Some asshole bullies come up to us, okay so I have high functioning autism, it’s only Asperger’s.
“I’d go with toothless.” The other one says mocking Dustin’s lisp.
“I told you a million times, my teeth are coming in. It’s called cleidocranial dysplasia.” Dustin tells them.
“I told you a million times.” He says, again mocking Dustin.
“Do the arm thing.” The first one orders referencing Dustin’s condition involving his bones. I don’t really understand it. “Do it, freak!”
Dustin makes his bones crack making the bullies grossed out, they leave but not before shoving us a little.
“Assholes.” Lucas complains.
“I think it’s kind of cool, it’s like you have superpowers or something. Like Mr. Fantastic.” Mike comforts him.
“Yeah only I can’t fight evil with it.”

Sarah Reed’s P.O.V.
I walk through the halls with Nancy Wheeler and Barb Holland, some of our other friends, Nancy is also the older sister of Oliver’s friend Mike.
“So did he call?” Barb asks, referring to Nancy’s new boyfriend, Steve Harrington.
“I told you, it’s not like that. Okay, I mean, yes, he likes me, but not like that. We just made out a couple times.” Nancy answers, like making out is not an indication of liking someone.
“We just made out a couple times.” Ava says mockingly, now joining us by our lockers.
“Nance, seriously, you’re gonna be so cool now it’s ridiculous.” Barb tells her.
“No, I’m not.” She insists.
“Remember us while you’re off hanging out with the popular kids.” I joke
“Yeah you better still hang out with us, that’s all we’re saying.” Barb says. Sasha and Judith walk up now joining us, Judith actually looks a little panicked, I wonder if she’s all right.”
“If you become friends with Tommy H. or Carol-” Sasha says before being interrupted by Nancy.
“Oh, that’s gross. Okay, I’m telling you guys it was a one time, two time thing.” She says making us all laugh a little. She then pulls out a note from Steve saying to meet him in the bathroom.
“You were saying.” Barb quipped. Nancy then ran off to go find Steve, presumably to make out with him, again.
“Hey Judith I my mom told me about your brother, that he wasn’t home when you guys got up this morning, is he alright?” Ava asks Judith.
Wait, what? Will wasn’t home, is that what she’s worried about? I wonder where he went.
“Uh, we think he just went to class early, he does that sometimes.” Judith says playing it off, but we can all tell that she’s worried.
“Hey, if you need anything, we’re here for you.” Barb comforts her. We all nod along and pat her on the shoulder. Before leaving to go to class.

Anthony Reed’s P.O.V.
I’m sitting at my desk at the station, the chief, Jim Hopper, finally shows up from work, clearly having had a little too much to drink last night.
“Good of you to finally show.” Flo, the receptionist greets him.
“Oh, morning Flo, good morning everybody.” He says.
“Hey chief.”
“Damn, you look like hell chief.”
“Morning chief.” We all greet him.
“Oh really? Well I looked better than your wife when I left her this morning.” He says to one of the other deputies.
“While you were drinking or sleeping or whatever it is you deemed so necessary on Monday morning Phil Larson called, said some kids are stealing the gnomes out of his garden again.” Flo tells him.
“Oh those garden gnomes again. Well I’ll tell you what, I’m gonna get right on that.” He replies sarcastically.
“On a more pressing matter, Joyce Byers can’t find her son this morning.”
“Okay, I’m gonna get on that. Just give me a minute.”
“Joyce is very upset.”
“Well, Flo, we’ve discussed this, mornings are for coffee and contemplation.”
“Chief, she’s already in your-”
“Coffee and contemplation, Flo.” He insists, not realizing that Joyce is already in the office.
Hopper starts to file out the reports required while suggesting the Will is just playing hooky. I’ve met the kid and I doubt that he would do that and Joyce insists that he wouldn’t. Hopper kept a cool head during the conversation while Joyce worried. He asked about her ex husband saying that most of the time that a missing kid is with a parent or relative. She begged him to find her son before leaving. Before she left I let her know that Will’s a good boy, so I’ll make sure that Hopper takes this case seriously.

Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
The bell rang in our science class letting most of the other kids out to leave while Mr. Clarke was still talking. “Remember, finish chapter 12 and answer 12.3 on the difference between experiment and other forms of science investigation. This will be no the test, which will cover chapters 10 through 12. It will be multiple choice with an essay section.” He dies off around the end since everybody already left by that point, everyone except for us.
“So, did it come?” Mike asks him.
“Sorry boys, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but… it came.” He fakes us out as we rush into the AV club room to see the new radio that he got for the club, which consists of Me, Mike, Will, Lucas, and Dustin.
“Yes!” We all say seeing it.
“The Heathkit ham shack. Ain’t she a beaut.” Mr. Clarke says.
“I bet you could talk to New York on this thing.” Dusting says excitedly.
“Think bigger.” Mr. Clarke hints.
“California?” Lucas asks.
“Bigger.”
“Australia?” I ask, to which he nods.
“When Will sees this he’s totally gonna blow his shit.” Lucas exclaims.
“Lucas.” Mr. Clarke reprimands, he might be a cool teacher but he still keeps us from breaking any rules.
“Sorry.”
We tune the radio before Mike starts speaking into the microphone. “Hello, this is Mike Wheeler, president of Hawkins Middle AV Club.” He says in a fake Australian accent.
“Hello, this is Dustin, and this is the secretary and treasurer of Hawkins Middle AV Club.” He greets also in a accent. “Do you eat kangaroos for breakfast?”
“Hi, this is Oliver, vice president of the Hawkins Middle AV Club. If you do eat kangaroos for breakfast then when do you eat koalas?” I ask as we all start laughing.
We hear a knock on the door and the principal walks in followed by the chief, Jim Hopper, two of his deputies and my dad. “Sorry to interrupt, but, uh, may I borrow Micheal, Lucas, Dustin, and Oliver?”
We’re lead to the principal office where we’re asked about how Will get’s home. We all start talking over one another trying to explain the road that he takes, Mirkwood, which isn’t really the name of the road but we call it that because the name is from the Hobbit.
“Okay, okay, okay, one at a time, all right? You.” The Chief says pointing to Mike. “You said he takes what?”
“Mirkwood.”
“Mirkwood?”
“Yeah.
“Have you ever heard of Mirkwood?” He asks one of the deputies.
“I have not. That sounds made up to me.”
“No, it’s form the Lord of the Rings.” Lucas explains.
“Well, the Hobbit.” Dustin corrects.
“It doesn’t matter.” Lucas says annoyed.
“He asked.”
“He asked.” Lucas mocks.
“Hey, hey hey, what’d I just say? One at a damn time.” Hopper says sternly, stopping Lucas and Dustin from bickering. “You.” He says to Mike.
“Mirkwood, it’s a real road it’s just the name that’s made up. It’s where Cornwallis and Kerley meet.”
“Yeah all right, I think I know that.”
“We can show you if you want.”
“I said that I know it.”
“We can help you look.” We all insist and agree.
“No.” Hopper which makes all of us argue with him. “No. After school you are all to go home. Immediately. That means no biking around looking for your friend, no investigating, no nonsense, this isn’t some Lord of the Rings book.”
“The Hobbit.” Dustin corrects making Hopper look at him angrily.
“Shut up.” Lucas hits him making them fight.
“Do I make myself clear?” He asks stepping up in front of us. “Do I make myself…clear.?”
“Yes sir.” We all say.”

Judith Byers’ P.O.V.
Me, Jonathan, and mom are out in the woods around our house and Will’s personal fort, Castle Byers, to look for him shouting out his name.
“WILL!” We all shout out for him.
“WHERE ARE YOU!” Mom yells.
“WILL, COME BACK!” I shouted out for him, cupping my hands around my mouth to project my voice out farther.

Anthony Reed’s P.O.V.
Me, Deputy Powell, Deputy Callahan, and Hopper are out on ‘Mirkwood’ looking for Will.
“Come on kid!”
“Will Byers!”
“Come on out Will!” We all shout for him.
“Hey, I got something.” Hopper yells back to us from further up the road. We all run up to him and see a bike on a little bit off the side of the road, down a small hill.
“That his bike?” Callahan asks.
“Yeah, he must have crashed.” I answer, recognizing the bike from the times it was parked in my driveway.
“You think that he got hurt in the fall?” Callahan again asks.
“Not so hurt he couldn’t walk away. Bike like this is like a Cadillac to these kids, he would’ve walked it home.” Hopper responds before picking the bike back up and we get back to the cars.

Judith Byers’ P.O.V.
We got back home and mom tried calling our dad, Lonnie, again. This time someone picked up but it’s actually his new girlfriend, Cynthia, who’s probably only been able to legally drink since a week ago. The stupid bitch hangs up before she can explain why she needs to talk to Lonnie.
“Bitch!” Mom yells.
Jonathan, who’s making missing posters for Will, goes to comfort her, saying that we have to stay calm. She calls again getting the answering machine asking for him to answer. Before slamming the phone back down, shouting damn it.
“Mom, Judith.” Jonathan calls to us.
“What?”
“Cops.” He answers as we rush outside seeing the cop cars pull up.
We see Chief Hopper step out with Will’s bike, being followed by some of his deputies, including Anthony Reed, the father of Sasha, Sarah, and Will’s friend Oliver, he’s a really nice guy.
He tells us about where he found the bike.
“It was just lying there?” Mom asks, knowing how important that bike is to Will. “Did it have any blood on it?
“No.” The Chief answers.
“If you found the bike out there why are you here?” Jonathan asks.
“Well, he had a key to the house, right?”
“Yeah.”
“So, maybe he came home.”
“What, you think I didn’t check my own house?” Mom gets angry with him.
“I’m not saying that. Has this always been here?” He asks referring to a dent in the wall.
“What? I don’t know. Probably, I mean, I have three kids, look at this place.” She answers.
“I’ve never seen it before.” I point out.
“You sure?” He asks me, he then opens the door and it is perfectly in line with the dent.
We then hear our dog, Chester, barking at the shed outback so we go outside to check on him.
“Hey, what’s up with this guy?” Hopper asks, crouching down to pet Chester.
“Nothing, he’s probably just hungry, come on.” Mom says leading the dog away.
Hopper then looks at the shed he was barking at. “What do you guys keep in there?” He asks.
“Uh mostly gardening supplies, uh, Lonnie had some guns in there that he didn’t take with him when he left.” I answer.
He goes inside and I follow him. He picks up an open case of rifle bullets checking them. “Did you guys go hunting recently.”
“No, it was mostly Lonnie taking Jonathan and Will out hunting, never bothered to get any licenses of course. He said I shouldn’t go because it isn’t a girl’s place to go hunting, he made Will go even though he didn’t want to.”
“You really don’t like your old man don’t you?”
“He’s an asshole.”
Hopper chuckles a little bit at that. He then walks over to the where the rifle should’ve been. Suddenly the lights go out.
“That’s weird.” I say.
Then there’s a weird sound, a squelching sound. We all over to look at where it’s coming from. Then the lights come back on.
“Hey.” Callahan calls out to us.
“Jesus.” Hopper says annoyed.
“What, are you guys deaf?” We’ve been calling for you. “What’s going on.” Hopper then walks out of the shed with me and Callahan following him. “Hello, are you okay Chief?”
“Listen, I want you to call Flo. I want to get a search party together, all the volunteers she can muster, bring flashlights too.”
“Hey you think we got a problem here?”
We then go back in the house. Whatever it was that happened in the shed, it made Hopper start taking this like a big case. But I don’t think that a search party’s going to help find Will.

Anthony Reed’s P.O.V.
It’s night now and we’re all in the search party in the woods around the Byers’ house. Everyone’s shouting for Will. I’m close by the Chief and the boys’ science teacher.
“He’s a good student.” Mr. Clarke says to Hopper.
“What?”
“Will. He’s a good student. Great one, actually. I don’t think we met, Mr. Clarke, teacher, Hawkins Middle, earth and biology.” Mr. Clarke introduces himself to the Chief.
“I always had a distaste for science.”
“Well, maybe you had a bad teacher.”
“Yeah, Ms. Ratliff was a piece of work.”
“Ratliff? You bet. She’s still kicking around believe it or not.”
“Oh, I believe it, mummies never die, so they tell me. Sarah, my daughter, galaxies, the universe, whatnot, she always understood that stuff. I always figured there was enough going on down here, I never needed to look elsewhere.”
“Your daughter, what grade is she in? Maybe I’ll get her in my class.”
“No, she, uh, she lives with her mom in the city. Thanks for coming out, Teach, we really appreciate it.” Hopper says before walking farther off.
“She died a few years back.” I tell him.
“I’m sorry?”
“His kid.”
I then walk forward with Hopper. He’s a good man, he didn’t deserve what happened to him and his family. He’s who I would consider my best friend.

Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
“Lucas, Oliver, do you guys copy. It’s Mike.” Mike said over our radio.
“Hey, it’s Lucas.” Lucas answers.
“I know it’s you, and say over when your done talking, over.”
“I’m done, over.” Lucas says annoyed.
“I’m here too, over.” I respond.
“I’m worried about Will, over.” Mike says.
“Yeah, this is crazy, over.” Lucas replies.
“Same. Out of all of us, I think he’d handle being lost out in the woods the worst, other than Dustin. Over.” I tell them.
“I was thinking. Will could’ve cast protection last night, but he cast fireball. Over.” Mike points out.
“What’s your point? Over.” Lucas asks.
“My point is, he could’ve played it safe but he didn’t. He put himself in danger to help the party. Over.”
“Meet me in ten. Over and out.” Lucas says turning off his radio, Mike does the same, and then so do I.
I go and grab my bike and I sneak out of my house.

Ava Sinclair’s P.O.V.
I sit in my room listening to some music and strumming on my electric guitar. Mom hates it. I stare out my window for a second and I see my brother taking out his bike even though the Sheriff said to stay inside. We make eye contact and he looks like a deer in headlights. I shake my head.
“Dumbass.” I comment. I turn back to my guitar and play some more music.

Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
No one sees me as I ride over to meet the rest of the guys. We then bike down to Mirkwood and where the search party started. Thunder starts and I feel a bit of rain on my face.
“Hey you guys, I think maybe we should go back.” Dustin suggests.
“No.” Mike insists. “We’re not going back, just stay close, come on.”
“Just stay on channel six and don’t do anything stupid.” I tell him.
The thunder rumbles again before Dustin runs after us.

Judith Byers’ P.O.V.
Me, mom, and Jonathan are sitting on the couch.
“Jonathan, wow. You took these?” Mom says proudly looking through some of the pictures of Will that he took over the past few years. He always had a knack for photography. “These are great. Wow they really are. I know I haven’t been there for you guys. I’ve been working so hard, and I just feel so bad, I barely know what’s going on with you. All right? I’m sorry about that.” She says tearing up a little. It is true, after Lonnie left mom had to pick up a lot of extra slack, me and Jonathan helped when we could, him mostly, but it was always her that got food on the table and made sure that rain never leaked through the roof.
Jonathan starts crying.
“Hey, what is it? What is it? Honey.”
“Nothing”
“Tell me. Tell me. Come on, you can tell me.”
“I should’ve been there for him.” And with that I started crying too, maybe if I was home, instead of getting high with my friends, I could’ve helped him, or at least seen something that would’ve been useful.
“No, on no, you can’t do that to yourself, it is not your fault. He is close, I know it, I feel it in my heart. You two just have to trust me on this all right.” She tries to comfort us.
“Okay.” I choke out.
She picks up a picture of Will. “Look at this one. Look at this one. I mean that’s it right.” She says making us laugh a little. “That’s it. That’s the one.”
“Yeah, that’s the one.” I agree.
The phone starts ringing startling all of us. Mom runs to the phone. “Hello? Hello? Lonnie? Hopper? Who is this? Will? Will?!”
Me and Jonathan rush over to the phone. “That’s Will?” I ask, panicked, concerned, I can’t even tell what I’m feeling right now. I just want to find Will.
“Mom, it’s Will?” Jonathan asks as mom starts breaking down crying.
“What have you done to my boy?” What the hell.
“What? What?” Jonathan starts panicking.
“Give me back my son!” Mom shouts through the phone.
Then, all of a sudden, electricity began to run through the phone shocking mom making her drop the phone.
“Hello? Hello, who is this.” Jonathan asks picking up the fried phone.
“Mom, who was it?” I ask while she starts crying.
“Look at me mom, was it Will?” Jonathan asks.
“Yes!” She sobs.
“What was it? What did he say.”
“He just breathed. He just breathed.”
“And was someone else there?”
We all then descend into crying as mom repeatedly says that it was Will, and that she heard his breathing. We’re all hugging each other.

Oliver Reed’s P.O.V.
We spend a while looking maybe half an hour or so. The rain starts coming down more and more, it’s pouring now. We’re all in our rain coats shouting for Will.
“I’ve got your X-Men 174.” Dustin yells out. Shit that’s a good issue. “Guys, I really think we should turn back.”
“You wanna be a baby, then go home already.” Lucas tells him.
“I’m just being realistic, Lucas.”
“No you’re just being a big sissy.”
“Did you ever think Will went missing because he ran into something bad? And we’re going to the exact same spot where he was last seen. And we have no weapons or anything?” Dustin asks.
“Dustin, shut up.” I tell him.
“I’m just saying does that seem smart to you.”
“No, he’s right, Dustin, shut up, shut up. Did you guys hear that?” Mike asks.
We then hear rustling so we turn around and shine our flashlights at the sound. We see nothing. Then more rustling so we turn back forward. And there’s a girl, standing there, in a Benny’s Burger’s shirt, with a buzz cut, staring right back at us.
A/N: All right Pt. 1 is done of what will likely be a long series. I’m excited to see how the events are affected by the new characters. We didn’t get to see a lot of Ava, Sasha, and Sarah, so I’m hoping that I get to show them more throughout the series, I’m definitely planning on having them involved in the endgame of the first season. I’m enjoying rewatching season one, the fall setting of the first two settings was honestly such a vibe. If you enjoyed this then check out my series that I did for Wednesday, it’s a little different from this one because it’s a character x reader, but I think that it’s fun to read. Playing Detectives Pt 8 (Wednesday x Male Reader)
Finally realizing who the monster truly is, Wednesday and Y/N have to finally end this case once and for all, but after learning his fate is to die by the Hyde’s hands, will Y/N be able to make it out of this final confrontation alive.
I still find it hard to believe, Tyler, really, Tyler is the Hyde. Wednesday found out when she went to go tell him they can’t be a thing but he kissed her and she had a vision. She saw him murder Kinbott, and others. But I can’t believe it’s been him, all along, him. He’s the one who attacked Eugene, Wednesday, Enid, me. God, he’s the one who’s destined to kill me, at least I know I’m safe, no way Tyler’s going to be the one to kill me. But despite the very little threat that he poses to me he still needs to be stopped. Which is what we’re up to now.
Wednesday’s plan is to lure Tyler to a safe quiet place for us to ask him a few questions. While they talk about how he’s totally the Hyde me and the nightshades walk up behind him. I have to say these people are a lot less annoying and useless when they just let me and Wednesday tell them what to do, with some minor suggestions from Bianca.
Bianca uses her siren song to get Tyler in a trance so we can bring him to Xavier’s art shed.
We walk him up after chaining him to a chair.
“Welcome back.” Wednesday greets.
“Where the hell am I?”
“Somewhere where no one can hear your screams.” I reply.
“What’s with the chains?” He asks.
“Don’t ask stupid questions.” Wednesday tells him.
“Wednesday this is crazy, I’m a normie.”
“That’s only half true. Do you recognize her?” Wends says pointing to a woman in the picture of the Nevermore Fencing Team from a while back. “Perhaps if I hadn’t been so distracted by my own mother hogging this photo, I would’ve noticed yours sooner.”
“Your father fell in love and married an outcast.” I explained to him.
“Fine, my mom was an outcast that doesn’t make me a monster.”
“According to her personal medical records-“
“You stole her medical records?”
“Technically, Thing did. He took them from your garage, your father’s quite the pack rat. Her postpartum depression triggered her condition.”
“My mom had severe bipolar disorder.”
“We all know that’s a lie. She was a Hyde. And your father has been living his life in dread, never really quite sure whether or not she passed her condition on to you.”
“Are you really all just gonna stand there and let them do this to me?” He asked the nightshades.
“I mean, he is our relative.” Gwen said.
“Uh guys? Enid just texted. Thornhill’s suspicious. How much longer until he morphs into that thing?” Ajax asked.
“I’m not the monster.” Tyler insisted.
“You are. I saw it in a vision at the Weathervane.”
“Wait, you’re basing all this off some vision you had after we kissed? I mean is that something you can trust?”
“Hey her visions have never failed us before. By the way super weird that you just randomly kiss my girlfriend after she walks in.” I insult him before my eyes go wide and Wednesday face palms and looks like she’s going to torture me next when we realize what I just said in front of all these people.
“I am so sorry.” I apologize to her before everyone starts freaking out.
“I knew it!” Jason yelled.
“So he really isn’t aroace?” Jack says
“Good job brother.” Jason says again.
“Really?” Jack asks.
“Good job cousin, you got yourself a ten.” Gwen congratulates.
“We’re happy for you two, really, but what are you doing, Wednesday?” Bianca asks as Wends grabs one of her torture devices.
“Just some light torture, don’t worry, I won’t leave a mark.”
“Wednesday, Y/N, hold on.” Bianca says trying to calm us down.
“Wait, you’re serious?” Tyler asks nervously as Wednesday picks up one of her torture devices.
“There’s only one thing a Hyde understands, pain.” She says before going up and electrocuting Tyler.
Everyone starts shouting and they all start to leave. “Y/N, Wednesday, I did not sign up for this. Let’s go to Weems and explain everything.”
“Weems won’t help.” Wednesday says.
“And Tyler here is always one step ahead of his father.” I explain.
“Then you two are on your own.” Bianca says before leaving.
“No, don’t leave me here please.” Tyler begs before we start torturing him again.

After a while of torture we get back to the questions.
“What is Kinbott, or should I say Laurel Gates, using you for?” Wednesday asks him.
“Wednesday, please.”
“Tyler, the body parts in the basement of the Gates mansion, what was she collecting them for?” I ask.
“Please, I don’t understand. Why are you doing this?” He asks again.
Suddenly we hear police sirens pull up and right when Wends is about to test Tyler’s reflexes with a hammer the Sheriff bursts in with several other cops all with their guns pulled out yelling at us to freeze and stuff.

After being taken in for questioning Weems and the Sheriff walk in.
“Sheriff Galpin isn’t pressing kidnapping charges. Which is a miracle given the circumstances.”
“Of course not.” Wednesday interrupts. “How long have you known?” She asks the Sheriff.
“Excuse me?” He says.
“When we gave you that claw from the cave, did you already know the truth?” I ask.
“Wednesday, Y/N, that’s enough.” Weems tells us.
“Xavier Thorpe is our Hyde. We’ve got evidence thanks to you. That’s why I’m giving you two one last pass.” He tells us.
“Tyler’s going to turn on you too.” Wednesday tells him before Weems pulls us out of the room.
“W-Wednesday wait.” Tyler calls out to her.
“Tyler! No, no, what are you doing?” The Sheriff asks him.
“I need to talk to her dad, him too.” He says pointing to me, much to my surprise. “They were my friends.” Okay, that’s little much, I honestly considered us more of acquaintances at best. “We’re in a police station. What’s gonna happen?”
The Sheriff looks at us before telling him to make it quick.
“What do you want?” Wednesday asks him as he walks up to us.
“To ask a question. What does it feel like?” He asks.
“What does what feel like?” I ask him annoyed.
“To lose.” He says. That son of a bitch is the Hyde. Wow. Okay this dude needs to be on the other end of one of my swords, well I guess he has already, but he wasn’t on the end of my best one, oh the next time we fight he isn’t making it out of that one, regardless of what Wends vision says. “You know, at first. I’d wake up naked. Covered in blood. No idea what happened. But over time. I started to remember, everything. The sound of their screams, the panic in their eyes, and a fear so primal I could taste it. And it was delicious.” He leans close and says. “You have no idea what’s coming.” Before walking away.

“The quid pro quo for Sheriff Galpin not pressing charges is your immediate expulsion from Nevermore.”
“Oh please, we all know Tyler’s the Hyde, he just confessed to us in the police station and now expelling us.” I complain.
“Oh not you, Mr. Barron, just Ms. Addams here.” Weems reveals.
“What?” We ask.
“Believe me, if it wasn’t for the suspicion of Ms. Addams manipulating you to follow her own agenda then you would also be expelled immediately but be rest assured Mr. Barron that we will be conducting a full investigation into your part in these plans.” Weems tells us.
“We were partners, I was just as much a part in this as Wednesday was.” I say.
“No she’s right. You and the others were not involved, just tools for me, I didn’t even tell you about my vision of you until a couple of days ago. I truly acted alone.” She says. I know she’s saying this just to protect me and the others, but why. Why would she do that, just throw herself under the bus. She shouldn’t have to do that. Not by herself.
“For someone who claims to have no friends you certainly go out of your way to protect them.”
“They didn’t have the guts to do what needed to be done.”
“You mean kidnapping and torture? I should hope not.”
“You do realize that Tyler brutally disemboweled six people, then harvested a variety of their body parts for good measure.”
“Perhaps if you’d came to me with your suspicions rather than taking things into your own hands then maybe we could’ve worked together.”
“Oh yes, because trust and cooperation have always been hallmarks of our relationship.”
“I admire your ability to be your own person and to trust your own instincts. But also that makes you impatient and impulsive. Your actions put me and the school in an impossible position.”
“Tyler is the Hyde. And he framed Xavier he confessed everything to us!” Wednesday shouts.
“I wish I could believe you.”
“His mother was an outcast, she went here you must remember her.”
“Yes, Francois. A lovely woman. I didn’t ask what she identified as.”
“Then give me more time, and I can prove they are Hydes.”
“There is no more time, and there are no more deals, Wednesday. Pack your steamer trunks. We will have them shipped. And say your goodbyes, you’ll be on the afternoon train tomorrow. And Y/N, I’d prepare your defense for the school board, I don’t think even your family name can save you from expulsion.” Weems tells us. “I’m sorry Nevermore didn’t work out for you two. I’m sure your parents will be very disappointed and so am I.” She tells us.

Last night me, Wednesday, and Thing went to the jail. Wednesday went to talk to him while me and Thing distracted the guards and made sure she wasn’t seen. After they were done me and Wednesday walked out of the building. And talked about what he said, in his opinion we should just leave and go as far away as we can, only then the prophecy of Nevermore’s destruction can never happen.
We are now in Wednesday’s room. Me and Enid are helping her pack.
“I can’t believe that I’m actually going to miss your creepy, lifeless eyes waking me up in the morning.” Enid says to Wednesday. “It won’t be the same without you.”
“So I assume your moving in with Yoko. Leaving me in the past.” Wednesday says.
“Not ever. What about you, will you forget about me?” Enid asks.
“Enid, the mark you have left on me is indelible. Anytime I grow nauseous at the sight of a rainbow or hear a pop song that makes my ears bleed, I’ll think of you.”
“Thanks, I guess.”
“I always believed that relying on other people was a sign of weakness.” She began to tell the both of us. “That inevitably they would lead me to disappointment. Turns out I’ve been a disappointment.” Wednesday says.
“Are you kidding, I’ve learned so much from you. Part of it is admittedly criminal behavior, but most people spend their entire lives pretending to give zero effs when you literally never had an eff to give.” Enid says.
“And together we solved a murder mystery, we are getting expelled before we can actually catch the killer but we know who they are, and that’s what counts.” I say, also trying to comfort her. “Plus, we make a pretty hot couple.” I add, which finally manages to make Wednesday chuckle a little.
“Any chance you’ve got some sneaky plan to allude Weems?” Enid asks us.
“Xavier’s right, this prophecy can’t come true if I’m not here, but it kills me to leave with Tyler still walking around free.” Wends says.
“If he tries anything, we have a school full of gorgons, vampires, and werewolves ready and waiting, and besides, theres’ no way he’s getting past Y/N, we got this Wednesday.” Enid replies.
“Yeah, and I just finished a little pet project I’ve been working on, it’s my counter to Tyler’s Hyde form.” I tell her.
“On a good note, I got a text from Eugene’s moms he woke up last night, maybe Weems will let you drop by on your way to the station.” Enid tells Wends. I haven’t been able to bring myself to go. I visited when he was asleep, but I don’t think I can look him in the eye after he night he got attacked. It was all my fault, if I listened to Wednesday and made sure Eugene stayed back here then Tyler would never have attacked him.
Thing taps and signs to Wednesday. “Think we’re all set.”
“Thing I’m going to miss our make up tutorials and you better keep sending me moisturizing tips.” Enid says. “Stay in touch okay.”
“Thing, it’s been real man.” I tell him, we both fist bump Thing before he crawls into Wednesday’s bag.
“So we’re gonna.” Enid goes up to hug Wends who backs away on reflex. “Your right, not hugging is kind of our thing.”

Me and Wednesday walk down into the main hall when we are met by the Nightshades, including Bianca, Jack, Jason, Amelia, and Gwen.
“The plan wasn’t to get you expelled, we’re sorry.” Bianca apologizes to Wends.
“The Nightshades need to be ready for what’s to come, or alot of people are going to die.” Wednesday warns them.
“Yeah, you guys are some of the most competent and smart in this building, except for Jason.” I say.
We here running and see Ms. Thornhill coming towards us.
“I’m so glad I caught you. I was weeding my wolfsbane and I completely lost track of time, this is a parting gift.” She says handing Wends a flower.
“White oleander, one of nature’s deadliest.”
“It also symbolizes destiny and renewal, you’re a very talented young woman Wednesday, I can’t wait to see what you do next.”
“Do I get a flower?” I ask, I don’t even want one, I just hate being left out.
“Did you get expelled?” Thornhill asks.
“Not, yet, but I’m sure I will be soon.”
“Wednesday, Y/N.” Weems greets.
“Speak of the devil.” I reply.
“This time I’m personally escorting you to your train.”
“I have one final favor.” Wednesday responds.

Wednesday asked Weems if she could go visit Eugene. I didn’t go because I still feel so goddamn guilty, and even if I did ask to go I don’t think Weems would trust me and Wednesday around each other. I’m resting in my room right now just thinking, how long will it take for the school board to expel me, when will I get to fight Tyler, will he kill me, when will I be able to unlock my full potential. You see my family have this power in us that makes us stronger but mine is getting blocked for some reason. Has been ever since I was a kid.
Suddenly I hear taps on the door. I go to open it up and I see Thing scurry in. He starts quickly singing to me. He says that Thornhill was really Laurel Gates and that she killed Weems and captured Wednesday.
“Okay, Thing you go tell Enid and the Nightshades about Wednesday, I’ll go find her and stop Laurel and Tyler.” I quickly telling him running to my closet, I pull out two katanas I forged with wind runes on them allowing them to form slashes through the wind.
“All right, time to face my potential death.” I say dreadfully as I race out of the door.

I run into Crackstone’s Crypt and see Wednesday with lots of blood on her gasping and looking at her hand.
“Wends, are you all right.”
“I’m fine Cara Mia, but Laurel and Tyler revived Crackstone and they’re going to go burn down Nevermore.”
“Well than let’s go, and you’re definitely going to start calling me by that pet name a lot more.” I say pulling her up and starting to run out of the Crypt, she looks grim, probably because I might die soon, maybe even tonight.
As we run through the forest we see a shadow in front of us, he steps forward to reveal himself as Tyler.
“Laurel said you were dead.”
“I’m feeling much better now.” Wednesday says.
“Like a cockroach.”
“Please, flattery will get you nowhere.”
“Yeah, get your own girlfriend jerk.” I taunt.
“This will not end well for you.” Wednesday says to Tyler.
“Go, I’ll deal with him.” I tell her.
“But-”
“Go.” I insist.
She runs off hesitantly as I get into stance with my dual blades ready to face off against Tyler.
“You know, I’ve been looking forward to killing you since I first met you.” He says.
“Funny, I barely thought about you, just the monster, so why don’t you bring him out?”
“You sure you can handle me, I nearly killed you both times, and I nearly killed your roommate, I would’ve too if it wasn’t for you and Wednesday.”
“Yeah, it really was your fault.” I say realizing something.
“Yeah, I admitted to that already.” He says getting confused.
“And my brother, he had his own issues, his death wasn’t my fault either.” I say starting to feel a sudden surge of power flowing through me. Then I suddenly start laughing historically. “Oh god, I can’t believe that you were the one to help me through my mental block. You see, my family’s strength gets increased by our egos, the bigger our god complex, the bigger our power. And I used to feel so shitty about myself that I blocked out my strength, but you just helped me get through my shit and now I feel better about myself than ever, oh god, you are screwed.” I shout to Tyler who looks pissed.
Tyler starts to transform into his Hyde form.
He lunges forward and I do the same.
My blades clash with his claws and we start attempting to slice at each other more and more, faster and faster. We continue this dance for a while, twirling around blocking and slicing, slicing and blocking. Eventually we both jump back, he growls and jumps forward in the air, I laugh and do the same. I make my blades come down into an x slash and he brings his claws down in parallel slashes. As we both land crouching I feel a stabbing pain in my left shoulder, I start gasping, I drop the sword in my right hand and I bring it to my sleeve. I grasp the shredded remains of my sleeve tightly, and I feel nothing inside of it. I look over my shoulder to see my severed arm and sword half way across from me to the Hyde.
The Hyde, Tyler, whatever, looks pleased with himself.
We both rush forward again, even with my increased strength, speed, and endurance this is still a really hard fight. I use my sword to block all his attacks. I kick him in the gut sending him back several steps. With the few seconds I’m given I put my sword into my mouth and grab my other from my detached hand. I start cutting and stabbing with my two swords again. Rage and adrenaline are the only things keeping me going.
He manages to cut me across my forehead, blood drips down into my one working eye nearly blinding me. Everything has turned into a curtain of crimson and I am unable to tell when I actually manage to cut the Hyde, his entire body looks red, cuts and all.
I’m getting slower and weaker, my strikes are missing more and more, those that do hit end up hitting shallower, minor scratches where I once slashed deep cuts. He is able to keep up his pace, most of my strength has been diverted to blocking his claws and teeth. If I were to try anything else then I would surely get hit.
He raises his claw to strike me, I sidestep and stab him in the side, I drag the blade up to worsen the wound, a look of pain and anger flashes across his face. He tries to scratch me again but once again I sidestep and dodge.
He raises to scratch my face again I raise my blades to block, he then uses his other hand and scratches a deep wound across my gut, it hurts like hell, my body is burning and tired. I stumble before my weight becomes to much and my legs buckle, I fall to the ground. I can here the Hyde roar in victory, ha, does that mean I lost, that I’m dying. Sorry Wednesday, Cara Mia, I would have liked to hear that come from you again but it seems like this is the end, huh, I wonder if this is what Wednesday saw, my body bleeding out on the ground as Tyler roars maliciously in the background. My death.
Fuck that.
I push myself up with my fist and put my knees below me. I slide my feet under my knees and push up off the ground. I grab one of my swords, I don’t think I can lift both now, even if one is held in my mouth, it’s too much. I feel the blood fill my mouth, I spit it out on the ground.
“Hey.” I shout, weakly, it’s clear that I’m on my last legs.
The Hyde turns and growls at me, he gets ready to charge.
A large shape jumps out of the forest and grabs onto the Hyde. It’s a werewolf likely one of the other students from Nevermore, huh, that’s weird, the color of some of the fur reminds me of Enid, holy shit.
“Enid.” I shout to her. She turns and smiles at me.
Gun shots ring out near us. I turn and see Sheriff Galpin aiming his gun at the Hyde.
“You look like your about to die Barron, go get yourself cleaned up, me and the wolf have got it from here.” He tells me.
“I’m sorry, about your son.” I say to him.
He gives me a nod before turning back and firing again at the monster who was his son.
I run off, but not to the hospital, to Nevermore, I got to go help Wednesday.

I run into the quad, which is on fire by the way, to see Wednesday pinned to a table by Crackstone with his staff.
“I will send you back to hell.” He tells her in his gravely voice.
Suddenly he’s stabbed in the back by Bianca. He then hits her sending her flying back.
I run forward and jam my blade through his front. He looks amused at me but then Wednesday takes a broken shard of her blade and stabs him through the heart. Crackstone starts to burn like the many outcasts he once did. He breaths out a black smoke before finally incinerating with a massive wave of heat.
We all nod to each other when we hear a gun getting taken off safety.
Laurel stands before us aiming it at Wednesday.
“You brought a gun to a sword fight, probably the first smart decision you made today.” Wends insults.
“Ha.” I laugh weakly.
“I might not get to kill all the outcasts, but at least I’ll get to kill you, Wednesday.” She says stepping forward.
Then a bee lands on the front of the gun and a whole swarm of them soon follow they surround Laurel who tries to shoot them but fails because of the fact that there are so many of them and they are incredibly small.
“Yeah, that’s what you get for messing with Nevermore.” Eugene says stepping out into the quad revealing himself to be the one controlling the bees, I am so glad I’m his friend and not his enemy. “Bitch.”
“Woah there buddy, ease up on that language.” I chastise stepping forward to rub his hair with my one remaining hand.
“But you’ve said worse before like-”
“We don’t need examples Eugene. Listen though, I’m sorry about the night of the Rav’N, I shouldn’t have taken you out there.
“It wasn’t your fault, I wanted to go, besides if you weren’t there I might’ve died.”
“Thanks man. Why are you here though?”
“Hummers stick together, right?”
Wednesday looks at him almost proudly before all of us go back to looking at Laurel. Curled up on the ground surrounded by the bees. Pathetic.
“I’ll take it from here.” Wednesday says.
“Maybe we should call the Sheriff?” Eugene innocently suggests.
“Turn around Eugene.” I say as Wednesday steps up to Laurel and smashes her foot down onto her head.
“Hey Wends.” I say to her. She turns and looks at me shocked, I guess she is just realizing that I’m standing here, alive, but in horrible condition, right on death’s door. “I love you.”
Everything then goes to black and my body hits the ground.

I open my eyes to blinding lights and the sounds of people moving around a room hurriedly.
“He’s waking up.”
“Oh my god he’s alive.”
“No way, this is insane.”
“More stuff like that, people being shocked that I’m alive. The people in the room are some of the Nightshades, some police officers, some teachers, most of my family, Eugene, Ajax, Xavier, Bianca, Enid, and Wednesday.
“Why is there so many people in my hospital room?” I ask groggily. I turn to Wends. “How could you let this happen?”
“I tried my hardest, but they insisted.” She replied in that monotone voice that I’ve grown to love so much.
After that it was mostly my family hugging me, Enid crying, Wednesday watching all of this in horror, policemen asking me questions, Eugene questioning how it took me less than half the time to recover when my injuries were more than twice as horrible as his. Most started to file out one by one to give me and Wednesday a moment alone.
“You lost your arm.”
“Does that disappoint you my love?” I ask.
“Considering the alternative was death, I’m rather impressed.”
“That’s all I ever wanted to hear.”
“How did you change your destiny?”
“I don’t know, I thought of how much I love you and how much I hate Tyler and I put that together and forced myself to keep going.” I reply.
That seems to work for her and we enjoy the silent love we have for each other that we didn’t get to experience for so long while we were off playing detectives in a case involving a monster and a dead pilgrim.

I honestly got out of the fight pretty lucky all things considered, I now have the boosted natural abilities of my family, I only lost an arm and got several scars, but hey better than being dead am I right. Anyway they cut the rest of the semester short after all this bullshit happened so I’ve packed my stuff and gotten ready to go home to my family. There’s just one thing that I got to go and do first.
I walk through the halls with my luggage looking for Wednesday.
I then feel a tap on my shoulder and I turn and see her standing there.
“Hey.” I greet.
“Hi.”
“You excited for the long break.”
“I’m excited for a chance to finish my novel and publish it, self publishing most likely.” She said.
“I’m excited to sleep off these injuries. Plus my parents said I get to have my dream car because of all this happening to us.”
“Really? What kind?”
“Oh that’s a secret until next time we meet.” I say mysteriously.
We reach the front door.
“So I take it Xavier gave you the phone?” I ask.
“Yes, would you like to put your number in it?”
“Are you asking me for my number? Oooh, you have a crush on me.”
“We’re dating.” She says weirded out and annoyed by my antics.
“All right, all right.” I say putting my number in her new phone. “Make sure to save my contact as Cara Mia.” I tease.
“I should never have called you that.” She laments
“Well I guess I’ll see you around, Addams.” I say as a goodbye.
“You too, Barron.”
I then pull her into a hug, which after a second of hesitation she reciprocates, then I kiss her on the forehead and I head down to where we’re getting picked up, and waiting there is the car that my family has to send out to pick all of us up. We each get to have our own row of seats, so I sit in the very back and put on my headphones and start listening to music.
“Despite what you think your journey is not yet close to completion.” A voice says, crystal clear despite the headphones. I turn towards it and the voice appears to come from a reflection of me only they’re wearing clothes from the 1600s.
“What the hell.” I say.
“You, Y/N Barron, have the potential to be the greatest outcast history has ever seen and the potential to be the one to lead the entire population of outcasts into salvation or purgatory, it is all based on the actions that you may soon make.”
And just like that old timey me disappears and I’m still left with more questions than answers.
Great, just great.
AN: So Playing Detectives is now completed until season two comes out, I am making a Stranger Things fanfic with a bunch of OCs which you can check the castings for on my page, I posted that earlier. Please keep a look out for it and thanks for the support for this fanfiction, I’ll likely return once season two is released. Until then I got Stranger Things to keep me busy. Greetings,Could you do a Cate Dunlap x Male reader with kiss scenes?,Thanks and have a great day.
Okay, so obviously the swearing in this is going to be pushed to the max, usually I’d also prefer a few more details when it comes to this like does it take place before or after her rampage across God U’s campus and how is the relationship with Luke affected by this like did it ever happen or is it after his death. Since there isn’t a lot of details I’m going to just come up with it on my own.
This story takes place a year or two before Gen V.
So in this story Cate and Luke never got together instead she got with Y/N who is Luke’s good friend and they are all part of the main friend group.

Cate Dunlap x Male Reader (Gen V)
While attending God U Cate and Y/N meet and fall for each other as crazy shit happens.
“Ugh, classes are so annoying, why do we have to go to college just to learn about being superheroes, it’s literally just kicking ass and defending the innocent.” I complain.
“Why are you talking to me?” Jordan asks me.
“Because we’re best friends.” I answer, as if it was obvious.
“No, you decided we were best friends when we sat down next to each other at our first class, I on the other hand don’t want friends.” She tells me, in her girl form, she’s bi-gender and her powers are perfect for that since she can switch to whatever gender she wants at any moment. Honestly I wish I had that, I would like hot as a girl. My powers allow me to cause seismic waves and earthquakes and all that kind of shit. I found out about that when I shattered a kid’s internal organs when I was also a kid, don’t worry the kid was a dick.
“Why wouldn’t you want to be best friends with me, what you think because your Professor Brick’s TA that means you’re above friends?”
“First, it’s Brink, secondly I’m here to become a great hero and to someday join the Seven.” She answers me.
“Boring, why would you want to join a team that’s already popular, I’m going to form my own team of heroes after college. I’m going to make a team that’s entirely new and better than the Seven.”
“Better than the Seven, aiming a little high there.”
“Hey Jordan, who’s that?” I ask pointing to an attractive blonde girl wearing gloves.
“Cate Dunlap, she’s in our class.” She answers.
“How have I not noticed her? She’s gorgeous.” I ask.
“Because you sleep through our class.” She says amused.
“And why didn’t you wake me up, as my best friend it is your responsibility to wake me up for attractive classmates.”
“No it’s not.” She responds.
“Wait.”
“No, no.”
“You didn’t deny it, we are best friends.”
“Fuck me.”
“Can’t do that it would ruin our friendship.” I laugh.
“Well her power is that if she makes skin contact with someone she can make them do whatever she wants them to do, so beware of that.”
“Sounds like something that I might enjoy in bed.”
“Gross man.”

I am now in the class that I have with Jordan and Cate, it’s the class where we learn how to be superheroes or whatever, I don’t know I usually take it as time to sleep. Also in the class is me and Jordan’s friends Luke and Andre, Luke as fire powers or whatever and Andre has magnetism I think, it’s confusing. I sat next to Cate in the beginning.
“So, you’re Cate right?”
“Uh, yeah, and you are?”
“Y/N, Y/N L/N.”
“Oh you have the shock wave powers right?”
“Yeah, that’s right.”
“Those powers are so cool, especially compared to mine.”
“Don’t sell yourself short, every power has a use, yours would be great for espionage and interrogation.”
“What if the power was having boobs for a face.”
“Well than I’m sure that the adult film industry would make them an absolute icon.”
She laughs at that.
“So want to hang out later?” I ask.
“Sure that’d be nice. Where are we going?”
“That’s a surprise.”
“Exciting.”

“I can’t believe we’re up here.” She says. We are up on the roof of Seven Tower.
“Yeah, Queen Maeve is my aunt.” I say.
“No way.”
“Yeah, we talk a lot, she’s the first one I told about being pan and the one who helped me train my powers.”
“That is so cool.”
“Uh huh, she even introduced me to the rest of the seven a while ago, obviously the roster has changed a lot in the past few years so I haven’t met some of the new ones.”
“Wow, this is all so awesome.”
“Hey would it be weird if I kissed you now?” I ask.
She giggles. “No, it wouldn’t.”
I lean forward and cup her face in my hands, and I kiss her.
“How cute.” We turn and see a man standing in a blue suit with an American flag cape. A man everyone knows. Homelander, greatest hero in the world.
“Hello, Mr. Homelander sir.” I greet. Cate stands looking starstruck.
“Oh no need for formalities. Any family of Maeve is family to me.” He says grinning. “And you are?”
“Cate Dunlap sir, I go to Godolkin University with Y/N.”
“Ah college romance, how sweet.”
“Sorry if we are disturbing you sir, we can leave if you want.”
“Oh no need, I just come up here to calm down after a long day, to relax doing some fun activities, your welcome to join me.”
“Sure.”
“Great.”
Suddenly a few people in office wear walk up onto the roof.
“Homelander sir, you asked us to meet you up here.” One of them said.
“Yes, yes I did.”
Suddenly, Homelander lasers one of them in half. What the fuck.
“Oh, god!” One of them screams.
I just stand there shocked.
“You see, I come up here to remind myself of how compared to me, to us, humans are like ants, and ants should be squished, under our boot heals.” He says.
“You know what, you’re right.” Cate says, she then walks up to one of the people, takes off her gloves, and touches one of them on the wrist. “You will jump off the roof.”
The man then walks to the edge of the roof and dives off.
The last man stood in fear.
“Y/N, your turn.” Homelander said, implying that I didn’t have much of a choice in the matter.
“Please don’t.” The man pleaded.
“DO IT!” Homelander yelled, Cate also stared at me expectedly.
I walked up and released a shockwave knocking the man off the building.
“Good.” Homelander says patting my shoulder then flying off.
“Come on let’s go back.” Cate said taking my hand and leading me off.

Playing Detectives Pt 7 (Wednesday x Male Reader)
After investigating the Gates’ mansion Wednesday finds herself more alone then ever and Y/N contemplates how much he can trust those around him and how much they trust him, when Mayor Walker thinks he’s cracked the case he’s suddenly hit by a car, and after putting her friends in danger the Sheriff has forbidden Wednesday from investigating the case.
Last night in the hospital someone killed Mayor Walker, pulled out his breathing tube thingies, and I would bet my life on the theory of the person who ran him over was the one who killed him. Now everyone is in attendance at his funeral. It’s raining, me and Wednesday are sharing a black umbrella. Despite our fight it’s not my place to be mad at or to forgive her, it’s Enid and Tyler’s, we’re in a mature healthy relationship so we don’t fight over petty stuff like this. And also despite our fight we have a case to solve and a monster to hunt down, my chest still hurts from the wounds the monster gave me, but Wends’ stitches are holding up alright. During the night Wednesday discovered a music box that belonged to Laurel Gates which contained many pictures of her, I’m not saying I want a stalker taking pictures of me but it feels kind of inconsiderate that only she got stalked.
Me and Wends look over across all the people here, all the potential suspects. Bianca and the mayors son share some glances and Ajax is there for Enid, the Sheriff and his son look at each other.
All of a sudden a shadowy figure is hiding behind some trees, he runs off and me and Wednesday share a quick glance before we run after him through the trees. We lose sight of him and slow down, he then drops down behind us and Wednesday grabs the sword hidden in her umbrella and jabs it towards him.
He then holds the blade between the palms of his hands and he sends an electric shock through it causing Wednesday to quickly drop the sword.
“Still as sharp as ever, my pig-tailed protégé.” The man says, wait what, he knows Wends.
“Uncle Fester.” She says as she gives him a big smile. I’m sorry Uncle who now.
The man takes off his hat to reveal an incredibly bald head.
“Uh, hi.” I greet him.
“Who is this?” He asks.
“Y/N Barron, Wednesday’s partner.” I answer.
“Barron, oh I’ve met a few of you in my lifetime, whenever one’s around you know it’s going to be a good time. And might I inquire what kind of partner you are to Wednesday?”
“A few different kinds.” I answer causing him to laugh a little.
We start to walk through the foggy forest.
“How long have you been stalking me?” She asks.
“Just blew into town this morning and was hit by a wave of nostalgia.”
“I thought you didn’t go to Nevermore.”
“I didn’t. Your dad got all the brains, but I used to drop in on him. Usually from the ceiling with a dagger clutched between my teeth, just to keep him on his toes.”
“Of course.”
“He filled me in on what’s been going on. Monsters, murder, mayhem. What fun! I told him I had a job in Boston, but I’d be checking up on you.”
“What kind of job?”
“The kind that means that I need a place to lay low for a couple of days.” I love Wednesday’s family more every time I meet them.
Me and Wednesday take him over to the bee hives.
“This place belongs to a friend.” She informs Fester.
“You actually made multiple friends. That poor kid will be going home in a body bag.” Wednesday looks down in guilt and I do the same. “I like a hideout that comes with snacks.”
“Those bees are hibernating.” I tell him.
“They’re practically Eugene’s children.” Wednesday says.
Fester opens one of the hives to try and get one.
“That means do not eat them!” She yells at him.
He looks disappointed but puts it back while Wednesday glares at him.
“You know, when you give me that death stare, you remind me of your mother. Speaking of scary things, you know what kind of monster you two are dealing with?” Alright that was just hilarious.
“We haven’t been able to identify it.” Wends says as she shows him the drawing of it.
“It’s called a Hyde.” He says handing back the paper.
“As in Jekyll and Hyde?” I question.
“Hm-mmm.” He confirms.
“You’ve seen one before?” Wednesday asks.
“Oh yeah. In ‘83, during my vacay at the Zurich Institute for the Criminally Insane. Where I got my first lobotomy. But you know lobotomies. They’re like tattoos. Can’t just get one.”
“Tell us about the Hyde.” She cuts him off.
“Ah. Olga Malacova. Jeez, she had it all. Beauty, brains, and a penchant for necrophilia. Olga was a concert pianist, until one night she transformed in the middle of a Chopin sonata. Massacred a dozen audience members, and three music critics.”
“What triggered her? Or did she just change on her own?”
“No idea. I only saw her in group electro-shock therapy.”
“There’s never been any mention of Hydes in any outcast book. And Nevermore is reputed for having the best collection.” I point out.
“You guys try Nathaniel Faulkner’s diary?” He asks us. “Before he founded Nevermore Faulkner traveled the world, cataloging every outcast community.”
“How do you know this?” Wends asks him.
“You think your parents can’t keep their hands off each other now, oy vey. I showed up unannounced one night in Gomez’s dorm room. Let’s just say I wasn’t interrupting a pillow fight.” NO NO NO NO NO, I did not need to hear that now, I did not need to hear that ever, I need to pour bleach into my ear later so that way it will wipe this memory from my brain.
“Uncle Fester. The diary, where is it.”
“The Nightshade’s Library. Your dad parked me there and said I should settle in for a long stretch. And that’s when I found this nifty little safe, I was hoping for a stash of cash or jewels but instead I found a diary.”
“We’l sneak into the Nightshades Library tonight. In the meantime lay low. If you are discovered I will disown you and collect the reward tied to your capture.” Wednesday warns him as we turn to leave.
“I’d expect nothing less.”
After a second Wednesday barges back into the shed and shout at him to leave the bees alone.

Apparently Enid went to go find something from their room while she’s bunking with Yoko and they got into an argument, she ended up saying that Wednesday endangers everyone that she comes into contact with, which is honestly kind of true.
We are currently heading down into the Nightshade’s Library.
“Uncle Fester?”
“Who’s uncle Fester?” Xavier says appearing from the shadows.
“What are you doing here?”
“Since I’m an actual Nightshade, I don’t have to explain myself. What’s your excuse for creeping around in the middle of the night.”
“Research.”
“On the monster? I’ll save you two some time. There’s nothing in here matching that thing.”
“Isn’t that convenient.” Wednesday says.
“You know what your problem is Wednesday?”
“I would love to hear your piercing insight.”
“You don’t know who your real friends are. I’ve been on your side since day one. I literally saved your life. I believed your theories when nobody else did. And what do I get in return? Just nothing but suspicion and lies.”
“Fine you want honesty? Here it is. Every time the monster’s attacked, you’ve been right there. Starting with Rowan at the Harvest Fest. Then on Outreach day, you arrived just minutes after the monster disappeared, yet you say you didn’t see it.”
“I didn’t realize proximity was a crime.”
“Then there’s your drawing obsession. You have drawn the monster dozens of times yet you’ve never seen it. Or so you claim. You even drew where it lived. Then when Y/N and Eugene went to investigate, you tried to kill them so they wouldn’t spill your secrets.”
“You think I would hurt Eugene? Y/N, you think I would try to kill you?” He asks us, I remain quiet, I haven’t know what to believe over the past few days.
“Let’s not forget your oh-so-convenient appearance after Y/N and Tyler had been attacked at the Gates mansion.”
“If I am the monster then why haven’t I killed you?”
“Because for some reason I cannot fathom or indulge you seem to like me.”
“What’s to like?” He says.
“Dude just back off, she doesn’t owe you blind faith, she deserves to think for herself about who she trusts.” I tell him.
“And your problem, your a psycho. Be honest here, your not trying to stop this monster to avenge it’s victims or to bring peace of mind to their families, you’re just bored and want something interesting to do. You have no empathy, you don’t care about anyone, you are just as heartless as that monster.” He tells me.
This may have started as me being bored, but after Eugene got attacked this was personal. I care about him, he’s my best friend, I care about Wednesday and I don’t want to see her be the monster’s next victim.
Wednesday looks angrier then I’ve ever seen her. “He has to go through more pain then you will ever know.” She says spitefully, her words laced with venom and I smile at her.
She could be talking about my panic attacks, or she could be talking about her vision of me, what did she see, what was so bad that it would garner this kind of a reaction. I’m glad she defended me though, it’s nice to remember that she likes me too despite not showing it much.
With that Xavier leaves and Fester jumps down behind us.
“How long have you been lurking?” Wends asks him.
“Long enough to feel the tension between you guys. Yowza. Seriously, you could cut it with an executioner’s axe.”
Thing comes into the room and Fester hears him. “I’d recognize the patter of those fingertips anywhere. Hello Thing.” Thing taps angrily at him.
“You can’t still be mad about the Kalamazoo job. It wasn’t my fault.” With that Thing lunges at Fester and starts to choke him. “ You said you could crack that safe in 30 seconds. Five minutes later we were still standing there, you’re all thumbs.”
“Enough.” Wednesday says commandingly like a mother breaking up two kids. “Let him go. Show me the diary.”
Fester walks us over to a portrait of Ignatius Itt
“Here it is. Iggy was Faulkner’s right hand. Trained a generation of Nightshades. And behind Iggy Itt.”
“Wait you guys know Ignatius Itt?” I ask them.
“He’s my cousin.” Fester answers. Ok, cool, perfectly normal that my girlfriend is actually related to my personal hero, not like I am freaking out right now. Maybe Wends can introduce us.
“Do I have time for a snooze, or can you crack this quickly?” Fester remarks as Thing begins to try and crack the safe.
After a few times Fester says that this is turning into a replay of Kalamazoo. Finally he opens the safe revealing the diary.

We make our way back to Wednesday’s room as Wednesday begins to look through the journal.
“These are some sweet diggs. How’d you swing your own single?” Fester asks her.
“My former roommate couldn’t handle my toxic personality.”
She finally lands on the page about Hydes. “Faulkner describes Hydes as artists by nature, but equally vindictive in temperament. Born of mutation, the Hyde lays dormant until unleashed by a traumatic event or unlocked through chemical inducement or hypnosis. This causes the Hyde to develop an immediate bond with its liberator who the creature now sees as its master. It becomes the willing instrument of whatever nefarious agenda this new master might propose.”
“Artist by nature, doesn’t that sound like someone we know?”
“Anyone willing to unlock a Hyde is a next-level sicko.” Fester says.
“That means we’re not looking for one killer but two.” I point out.
“The monster and its master.” Wednesday says.
Someone knocks on the door, me and Fester go to hide in Enid’s pile of stuffed animals.
Ms. Thornhill walks in and begins to talk with Wednesday about how Enid is going to room with Yoko for the rest of the year, how she cares about Enid, how she’s becoming a better person, and that she clearly misses Enid. Stuff like that.
“Uncle Fester, Y/N.” She shouts looking for us, he accidentally knocks over one of the plushies causing Wednesday to walk over and uncovers us.
“Hey! Being a solo lobo has its perks. You get to live by your own rules, do whatever you want. Just look at me.”
— — —
We went to Xavier’s shed.
While Wednesday distracted him me and Fester put a tracker on his bike.
“Did you two place the tracker?” Wends asks us.
“Don’t worry we got you covered.” Fester answers, handing her the device to track Xavier.
“Okay. Let’s hit the road.”
We walk over to the transportation Fester has arranged for us and reveals it to be a dog walking company’s motorbike with a Dalmatian pattern. We look at him for a few seconds.
“What? I picked it up on my way out of town. You know me. I like to travel incognito.” He hands us a couple of helmets with a matching pattern.
Fester drives the bike as Wends sits in the passenger car and I hold onto his back.
We follow Xavier to a secluded spot by the lake where a car is waiting.
Dr. Kinbott’s car. Kinbott’s the master.

Me and Wednesday go to Weems’ office to tell her about the doctor.
“Principal Weems, it is imperative we speak with you about Dr. Kinbott.”
“Wednesday, Y/N. We were just talking about you.”
“Speak of the devil.” Kinbott says behind us with a tray of tea.
“And she shall appear.” Wednesday says.
“Dr. Kinbott was just discussing your assessment Wednesday. I need to sign off on it before she can send it to court.”
“Well, what’s the verdict, Doctor? Am I cured?” She asks Kinbott.
“I’m glad you find it amusing. The judge assigned to your case won’t.”
“I’ve explained to Dr. Kinbott that you’ve recently been taking small but meaningful steps towards embracing your new Nevermore family.”
“Yes, I think I’ve actually reached the half-hug stage. I’ve been reading about hypnotherapy. It might be a good technique to unlock my inner Wednesday. Are you a devotee?” Babe I love you, but dropping hints that we know that a serial killer is a serial killer isn’t the smartest move.
“Yes, very much so. I applaud your new willingness to delve deep into yourself. We see each other on Monday, we can start then.”
“What did you so urgently need to discuss?” Weems asks us.
“It can wait, now if you excuse us we have homework to finish.”

Me, Wends, and Fester sit in the Weathervane to discuss our approach.
“Kinbott has to be Xavier’s master. The Hyde lays dormant until unleashed by a traumatic event or unlocked through chemical inducement or hypnosis.” I say.
Fester starts, I don’t know how to say it, drinking, chugging, slurping, the ketchup.
“Are you listening? She must’ve figured out he’s a Hyde and used hypnotherapy to unlock him. That would explain their secret sessions.” Wends says.
“I think the kid behind the counter has clocked me. Yeah, he’s walking over. I’m going to put him in a Romanian sleeper hold. Cover me.” Fester says referring to Tyler. Oh dear god, I would love to see that.
“Relax. He’s not interested in you.” Wednesday tells him. Cmon Wends, it would only have been a few seconds worth of Fester choking out Tyler.
“Uh, made you a quad. On the house.”
“Hey, thanks kid. Need a refill on this puppy too.” Fester thanks him. This man is my idol.
“Tyler, this is my uncle Fester.” Wends introduces right when Tyler started looking confused.
“Oh uh. Hi nice to meet. Ow!” He shouts as Fester zaps him chuckling.
“Is that?” Tyler asks recognizing the monster from when it attacked us.
“It’s called a Hyde.”
“That’s it, from that night.”
“Your father gave you explicit instructions not to be near me.” Wednesday tells him.
“Yeah, my dad’s not here and I’m on my break.”
“Well, apparently a Hyde needs to be unlocked by someone. It’s master.”
“Holy shit.”
“Tyler! What did I say?” The sheriff shouts from the entrance way as Fester disappears again.
“Uh. For the record Wednesday was trying to keep a distance. I was the one that sat down with her and Y/N.”
“All right. Putting these up around town. It’s a bank robbery suspect and he’s a real creep.” He says handing us a wanted poster of Fester. “You haven’t seen him have you?”
“No.” Wends says.
“Yeah, he’d be pretty hard to miss.” Tyler chuckles. “I’ll pin it on the bulletin board.”
“Barron, how’re the stitches holding up?” He asks me.
“They’re alright Sheriff.” I tell him.
The sheriff shakes his head at Wednesday before turning to leave. “Why do I waste my breath.”
“Thank you, but you didn’t have to do that.”
“Yeah your family’s very colorful.”
“Ironic considering Fester’s the black sheep. He’s harmless.”
“So about rescheduling our date.” I’m sorry, what?
“Between the monster and my uncle.” Yeah she’s busy, she doesn’t have time for dates, believe me.
“Hey, no excuses. Figure after what happened last time, you owe me.” That entire sentence was just one big red flag. Plus you got off light compared to me.
“I can’t sneak off of campus. All eyes are on me.”
“You won’t have to, I’ll come to you. 9:00 p.m., Crackstone’s Crypt.”
After that he goes back to work and me and Wends leave to head back to Nevermore.
“I don’t have to go.” She tells me.
“I know but I think you should go.” I tell her despite hating the idea.
“Really?”
“Yeah, I know we’re pretty certain that Xavier’s the Hyde but until we’re one hundred percent sure, we shouldn’t rule out anybody else. I don’t trust Tyler and if we make him think you actually like him then we can keep him from knowing we suspect him. I reason.
She smiles the tiniest smile ever at that. “I knew there was a reason I picked you as my partner, for the case and for life.”
“And believe me Wednesday Addams, when this case is over I will take you on a lovely picnic date in a cemetery.” I tell her, causing her smile to grow.

While Wednesday is on her “date” Me and Thing are going to watch over the diary.
We are sitting around talking about random stuff, favorite movies, favorite books, opinions on Mondays.
“Look, I understand that you enjoy the consistency of hatred that Monday provides but I personally only find comfort in knowing a grumpy orange cat that enjoys lasagna agrees with me.”
Me and Thing argue a bit more before I go out to get a breath of fresh air.
I wonder how Wednesday’s manipulation of Tyler is going right now. Why did I suggest this plan, it’s stupid, damn it.
Suddenly the door swings open and a hooded figure barges in, before I can reach for my sword they stab me in my back several times and I feel a sudden pain in my head before everything goes black.

I wake up in the bee shed. Me and Thing are lying on the table both of us seemingly having just woken up. Wednesday seems like she’s about to cry and Fester is standing over us having used his shock powers to save us.
“For a minute we thought you picked your last lock buddy.” Fester tells Thing.
“Who did this to you two?” She asked us.
“They covered their face, it was my own fault, I didn’t keep my sword with me.” I answer.
“Cowards.” Wednesday spits. “I promise that whoever did this to you will suffer. An dit will be slow, long, and excruciatingly painful.”
Thing and Wednesday pinky promise on that before we do the same.
“I’ll stitch you two back up. They found your motorbike so the sheriff wont be far. You need to go.” She says getting up. “Maybe next time steal something a little less conspicuous.”
“Where’s the fun in that? All right I’ll lay low here tonight, keep an eye on Thing, and I’ll skedaddle in the morning.”
“I guess I’ll see you at your arraignment or the next family reunion.”
“You’ll always be my favorite Wednesday.”
“Be sure to tell Pugsley that. It’ll give him a complex.”
While she stitches the wounds on my back she notices my frown. “You’re sulking, more then usual.”
“Scars on someone’s back are their shame.” I answer.
After saying that she kneels in front of me. “I promise I will give whoever did this much worse.”
“I am sure you will.” I say smiling. We kiss and she goes back to stitching me up.

After stitching me and Thing up Wends went to go report her room being ransacked to Weems.
Turns out she knew of the monster being a Hyde and revealed that they were banned from Nevermore 30 years ago and that she didn’t tell the Sheriff to protect Nevermore. The two of them argued, noting really different from every other interaction they have.
We are now walking to our next class when Bianca walks up to us.
“Come with me. I have information about Mayor Walker’s murder.”
We walk with her down to the Nightshade’s library to find the Mayor’s son handing us some papers.
“Printed these off of my dad’s computer. Seems he was trying to track down someone. Laurel Gates? Looks like he started right after Outreach Day.”
“Must have recognized her there.” I remark.
“According to British police Laurel was presumed drowned, but no body was ever recovered.”
We look through the files.
“The gates mansion was purchased a year ago by a 90-year-old candy heiress. She then mysteriously died and gave all her belongings to her caregiver, Teresa L. Glau. It’s and anagram for Laurel Gates.”
“Laurel secretly buys her old house and then comes back to Jericho as someone else. Why?” Bianca questions.
“Revenge on all the people she blames for her family’s misfortunes. Your father. The coroner. My parents. Most of all, Nevermore.”
“How exactly does the monster fit into all this?” Bianca asks.
“The monster is a Hyde and it’s doing Laurel’s bidding. She controls it.” I answer.
“You know who Laurel is, don’t you?” The Mayor’s kid, Lucas that was his name, that was really bugging me shit, gotta remember that next time.
“Yes, but the real question is how are we going to get her to see us?” Wednesday asks.
“I may have an idea.” I respond.

“I’m sorry, you two want couple’s counseling?” Kinbott asks.
“Yes, despite how perfect it may seem our relationship has a few problems.” I say.
“Um. Okay, sit down, I guess. What seems to be the problems?” She asks us.
“He doesn’t appreciate my cello playing.” Wednesday said quickly. Okay I asked her one time through factime on Enid’s phone to keep it down because I was trying to sleep.
“She forgot to feed my pets the one time I asked her to.” I retort.
“He has an unhealthy obsession with anime.” She says. Unhealthy is a strong word, do I watch a lot of it yes, does it take up most of my time, yes, do I sometimes ignore other tasks to watch it, yes. Alright I might actually have a problem.
“She doesn’t tell me everything that I need to know.” This gets her attention.
“What?” She asks.
“The night Rowan died, when you touched my hand you had a vision. What was the vision Wends?” I ask her.
“It was nothing important, can we get back to our plan?” She asks referring to our plan to lure Dr. Kinbott into a false sense of security and tricking her into confessing.
“No, it’s about me isn’t it? What did you see?”
“I didn’t see anything.”
“Bullshit. What was it that has you so rattled that not even you are willing to tell me?”
“It wasn’t anything!”
“What was it Wednesday!”
“You’re going to die!” She reveals.
“What?” I ask hoping I misheard her.
“You die fighting the Hyde.” She says again.
I remain silent for a moment before sitting back down. “Ok.” I simply said.
“Aren’t you scared or angry?” Wends asks me.
“No, not really, I mean, I’d rather die fighting then being killed without putting up a fight. Besides I never really believed in fate or destiny to begin with, and if it comes down to a fight between me and the Hyde, I think I’d win, I got great swordsmanship skills and now that we’ve narrowed down our list of suspects then we can stop them before they kill me.” I explain. Honestly even if I die fighting, it’d be good to know that I died protecting everyone I care about and that I’d die as a hero.
“I think this is a little above of my pay grade.” Kinbott says nervously. Understandable, not every day you find out a teenager standing right in front of you is destined to die a horrible, brutal death. Also she probably wants to remain as far away from anything involving the Hyde since it was her who awakened it.
Wednesday gets up looking angry. “This is your fault to begin with. We know you’re Laurel Gates, we found this in your childhood bedroom.” She says handing her the music box from her bag. “You’ve come back to Jericho to seek your revenge. And so did Mayor Walker, which is why you had to kill him. Who better to slide in and out of the hospital undetected than a psychiatrist under the guise of visiting another patient?”
“Wends, what happened to the plan?” I ask. She really has a problem with just explaining to our suspects that we know that they might be killers.
“You’re not actually accusing me of murdering the mayor?”
“The roses you left in Eugene’s room were your mistake. They’re the same variety I found near your childhood bed.”
“I honestly have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“There’s only one reason an overqualified psychiatrist like yourself would settle in the inconsequential backwater that is Jericho. It allowed you to crawl through the troubled, young minds of outcasts until you found one that you can manipulate to exact your revenge.”
“You know what. I don’t have time to deal with your delusional fantasies. I have a patient emergency.”
“Who? Xavier?” I ask.
“We know all about the secret sessions you’ve been holding in your car. I also found the cave where you’ve been holding sessions to unlock his Hyde.”
“And even if you guys aren’t the killers, it’d still be kind of weird that you hold sessions in your car.” I point out.
“You are so out of line.” She tells us.
“Do you know hoe violently unpredictable a Hyde can be? It was your plan to have Xavier committed before he could turn on you too.”
“Wednesday, Y/N, you two need help. More help than I can give you.”
She reaches for her phone. “Who you calling? Xavier?” Wends asks.
“Judge Reynolds. I’m going to recommend that you two stay in a juvenile psychiatric facility for observation.”
“Oh, please. We all know that we’d be running that place in a week.” Wednesday says. “Times up Laurel.”
We both leave the office.

Me, Wednesday, and Weems are sitting in the Jericho ER. Turns out Kinbott just got attacked by the Hyde while calling Weems to talk about our recent visit to her office.
The Sheriff comes out of the room and walks up to us.
“She’s gone. Dr. Kinbott’s dead.” He tells us.
“This ends now.” Wednesday says dramatically.
We both leave the hospital.

We both go to Xavier’s art shed with an ambush planned. Wends waits inside for Xavier while I hide outside with the cavalry.
We can hear faint talking inside when Xavier goes inside as he and Wednesday argue about the case.
The Sheriff and I barge in seeing Xavier holding a knife.
“Freeze. Drop the knife. Down on your knees.” He says arresting Xavier. “Cuff him. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney, if you cannot afford an attorney one will be appointed for you. Appreciate the help Addams, Barron.
“You framed me! I shoulda let Rowan kill you.” He shouts at us as he gets dragged out by the cops.

Me and Wends go back to her room to find Enid putting all her stuff back.
“Hey.” She greets us.
“You’re back.” Wednesday says.
“I’m gone for a few days, the place gets trashed, and Thing and Y/N almost die. Someone’s gotta look out for you guys.”
“What happened to rooming with Yoko?” Wednesday asks.
“Yoko’s great. I just decided I needed a few more boundaries.”
Enid starts to put down a line of tape to separate the room in half which is apparently something they’ve been doing.
“Skip the tape.” Wednesday tells her.
“Don’t tell me Wednesday Addams is mellowing out.”
“Never. More like evolving.”
“Well, one inch of duct tape at a time.”
“Why the sudden change of heart?”
“Because we work. We shouldn’t but we do. It’s like some sort of weird, friendship anomaly. Everything you’ve said about me is true. But I don’t apologize for it not anymore. It’s just who I am.”
“Thing said he missed you.”
“I missed him to. I’m sorry about Xavier.”
“We’re not. He’s a liar and a killer.” Wednesday says
“Besides there’s nothing quite like the feeling of being proven right.” I say as me and Wends smirk at each other.
“OMG, I ship you two so hard. I was honestly expecting you to get with Tyler at first but you two just work so well together.” Oh shit, right, Tyler.
“I still need to tell him about us and how he and I won’t be together.” Wednesday says.
“Well I heard he’s working the late shift.” Enid says.
“Alright, you go talk to Tyler, and I’ll leave so you guys can catch up.” I say before leaving.

I make it back to my room. I feed my pets. I lay down on my bed.
I look over to Eugene’s empty one. “We got him buddy. I can’t wait for you to come back.”
I start to contemplate the future. Now that the case is over me and Wednesday can go on a few dates, the Nevermore Hummers can get back to it’s usual routine when Eugene get’s back, Wednesday’s made peace with both Enid and Bianca. Everything feels perfect. It’s never felt this way before. Why does it feel like this won’t last, I’m probably just being paranoid but it feels like there’s one piece missing.
Suddenly I get a text from Enid, or at least Wednesday using Enid’s phone. When I read it I’m shocked, it makes so much sense yet I can’t believe it.
Tyler’s the Hyde.

Playing Detectives Pt 6 (Wednesday x Male Reader)
After managing to clear Wednesday’s father of a decades old murder charge Wednesday and Y/N have officially began their romantic relationship, now that parents weekend has ended the partners are able to focus on their own murder case, but the school may be a target in a new part of the investigation as a threat in burned into the lawn
Wednesday asked to be alone tonight as she is trying to contact her ancient ancestor Goody Addams, which is why I protested heavily when Enid invited me to her birthday party, Wednesday even told Thing to not have a party under the penalty of death. But Enid insisted that I be there. She’s one of the only one’s who knows, we didn’t tell her, she walked in when we were kissing in the beekeeping shed, it was because of the heat of the moment, we were looking at some of the pictures on the board, theorizing about the case, listing potential suspects. While we are still pretty sold on Xavier we’re trying to keep an open mind. But back to the party, since I know that Wends would absolutely hate it, I decided to get her something she would legitimately enjoy having. Xavier is handling the cake, I think he might be finally over his crush on Wednesday which is good, it’s healthy for him. Enid said she made Wednesday a snood, whatever the hell that is. We’re having it in Crackstone’s Crypt, which is where they were racing to during the Poe Cup.
We’re all waiting here for her and Enid right now, me, Xavier, Yoko, Divina, Gwen, Amelia, Jack, and Jason. We hear them approach the front door right now, this is going to end horribly. Some of them run around like ghosts or something, I have no idea what they’re trying, I’m just doing my best to stay out of her line of sight. When she gets to the statue everyone comes out shouting surprise, Xavier holding the cake, and singing happy birthday, when she looks at me a shake my head signaling that I had no part in this whatsoever. She then turns to Thing, who is dressed ever so fashionably in a tiny party hat made by Enid.
“I should have known you were behind this. What part of ‘no party under the penalty of death’ do you not understand?”
“I thought my cake design was pretty inspired.” Xavier said.
“The pink balloon was my little touch, why don’t you make a wish?” Enid chimes in, I just sigh as Wednesday just gives her a glare.
She then looks over and sees a phrase in Latin etched into the stone, we go over to translate it.
“Fire will rain… when I rise.” She translates, we then look at each other recognizing it as what was burned into Nevermore’s lawn, so the threat has something to do with Joseph Crackstone.
“Okay, that’s not really a wish.”
“The first part of the phrase was burned into Nevermore’s lawn, well it can’t be a coincidence.” Wednesday says.
“Wait, we’re never eating that cake, are we?” Ajax asks.
While we’re kneeling I take the chance to apologize. “I’m sorry about the party, I tried to stop them, and I failed.”
“You will pay for your failure later, we have work to do.”
As she brushes her fingers over the phrase she has another vision, I catch her before she can fall, everyone is shocked at the fact she suddenly passes out. “Don’t worry, this is normal.” I assure them but they only look more nervous at that statement.

Me, Wednesday, and Enid are in their room as Wednesday is drawing some gate she saw in her vision, I’m gonna be honest here, I’m the artist in this relationship from what I’m looking at.
“Don’t blame Thing, the party was my idea, I believe everyone deserves to be celebrated on their birthday.” Enid confesses.
“I prefer to be vilified.”
“What happened, it looked like you were having a seizure?”
“I wasn’t that lucky.”
“Can I at least get some kudos for pulling one over on you?” Enid asks.
Wednesday just looks at me giving me a slightly tired look. “She has a point.” I whisper. She does take a second to consider Enid’s trick.
“The subterfuge was impressive.”
Thing then pulls a massive box from under Wends bed with a letter from her parents wishing her a miserable birthday, she opens the box to reveal a taxidermy kit with a frozen squirrel.
“I would have preferred live squirrels” Wednesday commented.
“While we’re still accepting presents.” Enid says as she presents Wends with a wrapped present. Wednesday tears it open to reveal a shawl of some sorts in the color black. “Well, do you like it?”
“What exactly is it?” Wednesday asks.
“It’s a snood, silly, I made it in your signature colors.” She responds. Ohh, that’s what a snood is, I have to give Enid props, Wends does look beautiful in black. “And you want to know what the best part is? Me and Y/N have ones too.” She says holding up one in pink and one in white as me and Wends stare at her with our eyes wide. “We can all wear them together in class.”
“Oh, Enid, this is far too unique to wear to something like class. I suggest we wait for a more special occasion, like a funeral.” I nod along, I gotta respect her for sparing Enid’s feelings.
“I guess I should probably give you my gift now.” I say walking over to Enid’s massive pile of stuffed animals, I reach into it and pull out a black sword I forged with a hilt modeled looking like two snakes tangled together.
Enid and Wednesday looked at me shocked. “What?” I ask.
“You hid that sword in my stuffed animals?” Enid asks.
“Yes.” I respond.
“With the blade completely uncovered?”
“Unsheathed, but yes I wanted Wednesday to pick out her own one.”
“And you don’t any problem with the way you did this at all?”
“No not really, what’s wrong?” I ask.
“What if it stabbed me?” Enid yelled.
“Oh it would not have stabbed you, no one would be so clumsy that they would fall onto a sword and get stabbed.” I say looking over to Wednesday who shakes her head, signaling that yes, Enid is that clumsy. “Well how do you like it Wends?” I ask her.
She walks over and takes the sword looking completely enamored with the blade. “I … love it.” She says looking back to me, she struggled a bit to find the words but manages to get them in the end.

Me and Wends are now looking at the scorch marks on the lawn, inspecting the burns. I sniff at the burns and smell standard gasoline so this didn’t appear supernaturally, not as fun, Xavier walks up to Wends and starts talking to her about her visions and the party and whether or not he’s the monster. He says when she’s ready for his help he’ll be ready, pretty presumptuous if you ask me, I know nobody but Enid knows but seriously you’re gonna try to get with my girlfriend.
She told me a little bit ago that she and Bianca talked during the dance, I think that they bonded a little, at the very least I think that their rivalry is over and they’re cool now.
We decided to head over to visit Eugene since this wasn’t going anywhere.

Wednesday’s talking to him about her past birthdays with her family, they sound awesome. We hear someone walk in and we see Dr. Kinbott.
“Wednesday, I haven’t seen you since our session with your family which was one I won’t forget, and Y/N not you since our breakthrough before the Rave’N.”
The two of them talk about the events over the past few weeks, Wednesday saving her father and her and her mother’s grave digging excursion, turns out Dr. Kinbott had a session with Eugene’s parents. We’re about to leave before Kinbott asks a question that shocks us.
“Who’s Goody?” How in the hell does she know about Wends distant ancestor.
“She’s a very distant cousin, very distant.”
“Seems like she doesn’t see you for who you are.”
“She sees more than you know, I want to assure you I remain as cold and harmless as the first day we met.”
“I doubt a cold, heartless person would be sitting by her friend’s bedside feeling some guilt for his condition.”
“I didn’t ask for a free session.”
“Consider it my birthday gift.” Kinbott laughs.
We then walk out slightly spooked by Kinbott’s question.

We are now sitting across from each other in the Weathervane, Wednesday reading a book about pilgrims, me writing some theories about the possibility of Kinbott being involved in all of this. All of sudden Tyler sets down a cup of coffee with happy birthday written down on it and sits down next to me.
“I know you’re usually a quad kind of girl, but I’ve been working on that all week.”
“Birthday, yes. Happy, never. Is there anyone Thing didn’t tell?”
“Well who do you think delivered the cake? Yeah, I went with the 98% dark chocolate ganache knowing your… preferred color palette. Oh is that, uh… that Enid’s gift?” He asks referencing the snood Wends had next to her.
“It’s perfect if you’re fleeing a war-torn country on foot.”
“Come on don’t you like a day that’s all about you?”
“Every day is all about me. This one just comes with cake and a bad song.”
“So, if I asked you out to a non-birthday, song-free dinner… would that be something you’re interested in?” I’m sorry, but what the hell is with guys and asking out my secret girlfriend, I know it’s secret but come on, well I trust Wends so I’ll stick to writing stuff down.
“I have a tight deadline, emphasis on dead.”
“Term paper?”
“It’s about how whitewashing the sins of our past will come back to kill us all.” Subtle babe. She then slides him her drawing of the gates she saw in her vision and asks if he knows what it is. He doesn’t, real helpful.
“Did I do something? I just feel like ever since the Rave’N you’ve kind of been ghosting me.” Well with a combination of having no phone, a murder case to investigate, a prophecy that will have the two of us decide the fate of the school, and the fact that she has a boyfriend, she doesn’t have a lot of time for whiny teenage boys with daddy issues.
“Am I wrong?” He asks. God this is like a scene in a bad romcom, dude she’s no into you.
Wednesday remains silent. “Guess I got my answer.” No shit Sherlock, damn, I really hate Tyler, I kind of feel bad, he didn’t do anything wrong he just likes a girl who’s not into him, and it’s not like he knows about me and Wends.
He leaves our table and when his dad walks in he goes to get him his usual coffee.
“The threat burned onto Nevermore’s lawn, it’s also etched on the wall inside Crackstone’s crypt.” Wednesday tells the Sheriff.
“Don’t tell me you’ve been out there digging up more bodies.” Come on man, everybody’s got hobbies.
“There’s a connection there. I know it.”
A look of skepticism spreads across his face. “Alright, I’ll put out an APB on the dead pilgrim.”
“I figured since you no longer had an old vendetta to obsess over then you’re free to solve a real crime.” God I love this woman.
“Your father and I buried the hatchet. Maybe you should do the same.”
“I don’t bury hatchets, I sharpen them.”

Wednesday went to Xavier’s art shed to ask him about the gates she saw in her vision, apparently he had a massive painting of Wednesday playing her cello. Thing said he hit on her a little, said stuff about he couldn’t forget her even when he tried. Thing is honestly awesome.
When we were talking about theories me and Wednesday started kissing, we got to work on not getting pent up during those moments, and Bianca walked in when she was returning the snood Enid made for her. Why is it that whenever someone find’s out about our relationship it’s because of their lack of privacy.
She just gave us a genuine smile, returned the snood, congratulated us, and left.
We are now at the Gates’ old abandoned mansion, the kid Mr. Addams was accused of killing, the family who all died horrible deaths. Not that they didn’t deserve it.
We go inside the estate to investigate but we hear someone walking around inside and rush to hide. Mayor Walker walks out and calls the Sheriff saying that he thinks that he figured out who’s behind it all of this and that they need to meet at the Weathervane. Me and Wednesday hide in his trunk as he finishes his call and drives off to the Weathervane.
We wait for him to get inside but he is suddenly hit by a blue car. We jump out and I call 911.
After the ambulance picks him up we sit inside with the Sheriff who looks like he’s having a bit of a panic attack.
“He’s alive, barely, I’ll take you two back after I get your statements.”
“We already gave it to your deputy. Blue Cadillac with no license plates.”
“It sucks, I always wanted a Cadillac and now I’ll just associate it with murder.” I complain, now I guess I’d just have to settle with getting a Mustang.
“Yeah, I know, I want a better one.” He then puts down a tape recorder. “What were you doing in the back mayor’s SUV?”
“We saw him coming out of the Gates mansion.” I answer.
“The Gates mansion, the hell were you doing there.”
“We were house hunting.” She quips. “I overheard the voicemail he left you, I was intrigued.:
“Back when the mayor was sheriff he used to have a lot of wild theories on cases that he couldn’t solve. So we’d dissect them over pie sitting in that booth back there. Most of the time they went nowhere.”
“Call me old fashioned but when someone is run over on their way to give the police key information, it usually means they were onto something, and all signs point to the Gates family and that house.”
“The Gates family, how every last one of them is dead and I don’t believe in ghosts.”
“Maybe you should.” I finish before Wednesday stops the recording and we leave.

We are now getting chewed out by Weems, apparently getting involved in the murder of Rowan, the attempted murder of Eugene and the Mayor, the Monster running around trying to kill them, the possibility of a centuries old conspiracy, and a prophecy that will determine the fate of our school is what she considers getting involved in every bad thing to happen.
“As of now the school is on full lock down and your off campus privileges are revoked until further notice.”
After getting chewed out like that we go back to our rooms. Wednesday is writing her novel and I am sharpening some my swords which I’ve been sneaking into my room recently.

Wednesday said that we’re going to the Gates mansion at 8, while I would bring up the rules and our punishments I feel like we’re way beyond that point by now.
I notice a car just outside the Nevermore campus boundaries so I bring my sword with me, this one has ice runes engraved onto it, I figure that if I get the chance freezing the monster may be our best course of action.
I hop in the backseat to only see Enid wearing her snood next to me, Wednesday in shotgun wearing her own snood, and Tyler in the drivers seat dressed to impress.
“Wait he’s our Uber driver?” Enid asks.
“Uber driver, I thought we were going on a date.” Tyler says, what made you think that, Enid also gets weirded out by this due to her knowledge of me and Wends secret relationship.
“I thought this was a girls’ night out.” Enid chimes in, yeah screw the date, that’s the weirdest thing anyone though Wednesday would be doing with them tonight.
“I thought we were hunting the monster and investigating an abandoned mansion.”
“There’s been a change of plans.” Wednesday answers leaving us all confused.
“Hey what’s with the weird matching hoodie scarf things?” Tyler asked.
“Don’t ask, just drive.”
We drive off to the old Gates mansion so at least I wasn’t lied to. But Wednesday really shouldn’t have dragged Enid and Tyler into it, the two of us should have been more than enough for this and she didn’t have to manipulate both of them.
“You seriously want to go in there? This place is creepy AF.” Enid asks
“I know.” Wends responds.
“Okay this isn’t what I signed up for.” Tyler says.
“Ditto.” Enid adds.
“I didn’t want to celebrate my birthday by going to dinner or a surprise party. I want to do this.”
“Then you shoulda just said so, you didn’t have to trick us.” Tyler points out.
“If you want to go you can. I’m going to go check out the garage.” Me and Wends walk off into the house.
We try forcing the door open before Tyler tries and then Enid finally manages to bust it off it’s hinges with relative ease.
“Werewolf thing.”
We then enter and find a car under a tarp, blue Cadillac.
“Okay this just took a dark turn.” Enid says creeped out. “We need to call Tyler’s dad right freakin now.”
“Why? So he can take me and Y/N back to Nevermore and get us expelled? It’s not gonna happen.”
We walk further into the house.
“This is the night I’m going to die.” Tyler says.
We stare up at the portrait of the gates family for a good few seconds so Wednesday can narrate her life in her head.
We walk into the library when Tyler asks if we’ve seen enough.
Wednesday looks between two columns before pulling a secret lever on one and opening a secret compartment, inside being a portrait of Crackstone and a number of candles, all recently lit.
“Who doesn’t have a spooky built in altar in their family library?” Enid says.
“Ours in the living room. More seating for year-long Dia de los Muertos.” Wednesday answers. I swear to god I fall more in love with this woman every day. Enid starts to whimper as we step into the altar, messages are written on the walls in red. Wednesday checks the candles and confirms they are still warm. She tells me and Tyler to check the rest of the ground floor while she and Enid check upstairs. Me and Tyler split up to search in different directions I search the kitchen and dining room for a little bit.
All of a sudden I hear scratching and I turn and come face to face with the monster, I have no time to dodge or draw and can only be scratched across the chest as it starts to run to the stairs. I run after it with my sword and use the runs to send shards of ice flying towards it. A few get it on the back causing it to roar and charge at me, I side step and manage to get a slice at it’s arm before it hurdles into the wall. Hopefully the noise down here tells them to get the hell out of this place. The monster charges at me again but this time ducks under my blade and makes another swipe at my chest. I finally collapse on the ground.
I begin to crawl after it and I hear Tyler shout out. “Guys down here.” Before seemingly getting attacked by the monster. I hear the monster roaring and Enid screaming in the house.
After a few minutes Tyler finds me and brings outside and leans me against the tree. He got a huge scratch from the monster on his arm and a smaller one on his chest.
Suddenly Wednesday and Enid run up to us. Enid looks terrified and Wednesday actually looks worried about me.
My heart starts to beat uncontrollably and my breathing gets faster and faster till I’m hyperventilating. Shit it feels like my hearts going to just jump right out of my chest, I can’t hear anything besides that, nothing but my heart, it’s only going quicker. Everything’s getting blurry, I can’t tell if that’s from blood loss or the panic attack. I think another person showed up but I can’t tell.
Suddenly I feel a hand grasp my own and I look up and see Wednesday, wearing an unusual look of care and concern across her face.
“You’re okay.” She starts telling me repeatedly, suddenly Enid grabs my other hand and the new guy who I now recognize as Tyler starts putting some cloth over my wounds. I look over everyone helping me and my heartbeat starts to go down and my breaths get slower.
“Can you walk?” Wednesday asks me, I try to stand but to no avail.
“What happened to him?” Xavier asks worried.

Tyler and Xavier helped me back to Tyler’s house where Wednesday is stitching me up.
“Thanks.” I say.
“Look, we need to get back before Weems realizes we’ve been gone.” Enid said.
Suddenly the Sheriff walks in. “What the hell happened? This was you wasn’t it.” He says walking up to Wednesday but Tyler stops him and Wednesday starts to take him to the mansion so I get up to get with them.
“No, you’re not coming.”
“But-”
“No. Enid take him back to Nevermore.”
We complied and Enid helped me up and we managed to get to Nevermore without me falling down onto the ground.
Wednesday eventually sneaks into my room through the window.
“How are you?” She asks in her deadpan.
“Fine.” I simply reply, seriously no sorry you got hurt, I shouldn’t have put our friends in danger, we should go ask them to forgive us.
“I told Weems about our prophecy.” She says.
“That’s nice.” I say a little disinterested.
“Are you mad at me too?” She asks annoyed. “You didn’t have to come.”
“I’m not mad at you for me getting hurt, I signed up for this when we agreed to be partners. I’m mad that you dragged Tyler and Enid into this, they had nothing to do with the case, but you put them in danger anyway. Did you learn nothing from Eugene, he almost died, they could have died.” I yell at her. This seems to start to get through to her. “And the worst part is you don’t seem to care about this.”
“Enid moved to Yoko’s room.” Wednesday admitted.
“I’m sorry to hear that but she had every right, she has done nothing but be supportive and kind towards you, she stayed at the mansion because she valued your friendship and you took that for granted, you’ve pushed everyone who’s given a damn about you away.”
Wednesday seems to accept her mistakes and leaves the room. I’m not even mad at her, I just want Enid to be okay, and to a much lesser extent, Tyler to receive minor injuries. Wednesday needs to get called out or she will do this over and over again until someone she cares about will die. I’m also mad because it still feels like she doesn’t trust me, what did she see in her vision when she touched my hand, I want her to be able to tell me on her own but this is just getting ridiculous, what was so bad that she couldn’t tell me.

Playing Detectives Pt 5 (Wednesday x Male Reader)
When Wednesday went to the school dance with Tyler, Y/N realized how he truly felt about his partner, meanwhile he and Eugene staked out the cave and caught someone burning and evidence there was something inside, and Eugene got attacked by the monster.
I had been spending the last couple of nights hanging around Eugene’s hospital bed, he’s going to make it, but he’s still really badly hurt. I usually stay until the nurses kick me out, I’m on a first name basis with most of the hospital staff at this point. Me and Wends talked for a little bit, she offered me her deepest sympathies over Eugene since we are roommates which is her way of hugging me and telling me everything will be all right.
However this weekend I wouldn’t be able to hang out in Eugene’s room because I have to deal with another one of this school’s annoying functions, Parent’s Weekend, don’t get me wrong I love my family, it’s just that some of them are a bit on the weirder side, plus my cousin Gojo will just flirt with all the girls and my cousin Oliver will just flirt with all the guys.
The run down on the family tree is that there is my grandfather Tim Barron, he had my dad Oscar, my uncle Austin, my uncle Eddie, my uncle Francis, my uncle Richard, my uncle Joseph, my aunt Jane, and my uncle Toji. Tim’s brother is Issac Barron. My dad married my mom Maxine, they had my oldest brother Arthur, the dead one, my oldest sister Ruby, my sister Elizabeth, then there’s my brothers Jason and Jack and my sister Amelia. My uncle Francis had my cousins Skyler, Oliver and Gwen. Then my uncle Toji had my cousins Maki and Gojo.
Other than my parents none of my uncles or my aunt really had successful marriages but aunt Jane is dating someone she thinks is nice right now.
Now even though it is called Parent’s Weekend all of them are coming. So this weekend I have to deal with the stress of my entire family being in one school, Eugene’s injuries, my emerging feelings for Wednesday, her family being in the same school, and solving a murder investigation that also involves our destiny to determine the fate of the school involving a clash with a murderous four hundred year old pilgrim. There is also something I’ve been wondering about, the night Rowan died when Wednesday touched my hand she had a vision, then the night of the Rave’N she was worried about me going out and running the risk of dealing with the monster, so now I just want to know what she saw in her vision of me.

Me, Jack, Jason, Ameila are all standing out by the gates waiting for our various family members to arrive. Most of them arrive in various limos but uncle Francis, Skyler, and Oliver all pull up on motorcycles doing their best to make in entrance. We greet our various family members and before I know it I’m face to face with my parents.
“Son.” My dad says deadpan.
“Father, Mother.” I return.
We stand there a few seconds before breaking out into laughter and hugging.
“How have you been?” My mom asks me.
“Fantastic, solving a murder investigation that involves a monster and Jericho’s founder Joseph Crackstone.” I reply.
“That’s my boy.” Dad says proudly wrapping and arm around my shoulder before turning to my siblings.
“Hey, assface.” I hear and as I turn I’m met with my sister Ruby.
“Shit brains.” I greet before once again laughing and hugging my relatives.
“Hey Y/N.” My sister Elizabeth greets.
“Hi.” Hi say hugging her.
We all start to head into the quad to hear Weems’ speech. Nevermore’s a haven blah blah blah. Stuff like that. The only part I paid attention to was when she said that Eugene is on the mend.
“That’s your roommate right?” My cousin Maki asked me.
“Yeah.” I say before walking off the second the speech is done.
I head over to Wednesday and Enid, I know Enid’s got it rough with her mother since she isn’t able to wolf out like the rest of her family so I try to be there for her when I can, but the fact that my family has contributed this much to overpopulation means I don’t have a lot of free time during Parent’s Weekend to comfort her about her situation.
“That is not your fault okay, the monster hasn’t attacked anyone in the past week, maybe you finally scared it off.” Enid said to Wends.
“Yeah it’s not your fault Wends, it’s mine.” I say trying to comfort her.
“Maybe the monster went into hiding to avoid this weekend.”
“Y/N, are you really choosing to talk up a couple of girls rather than be with your own family, I know you’ve always been popular with them but still.” My uncle Francis asks me walking over with my grandpa.
“Where are my manners, Wednesday and Enid, this is my uncle Francis Barron and my grandfather Tim Barron, grandpa, uncle, this is Wednesday Addams and Enid Sinclair.” I introduce
“Addams, are you Gomez’s kid?” Francis asks her.
“Yes, speaking of which I knew I should’ve worn my plague mask.”
“Well look at my family talk about toxic pack mentality, I give my mom thirty seconds before judgey claws come out, let’s get this over with.”
We all walk over to each of our respective families.

What is one of the arguably weirdest moments of the weekend so far is when my dad and Wednesday’s dad reunited.
“Oscar!”
“Gomez!”
The two ran up to each other, hugged, then did a secret handshake that only belongs in bad teen movies from the 80s. I talked with my family about the case and Eugene, leaving out anything about my feelings for Wednesday, but of course leave it up to Jack and Jason to ruin a good thing.
“Did he tell you guys about his hot goth girlfriend yet?”
“You know he’s got a girlfriend now right?”
“It can’t have been just me who thought he was aroace right?”
That kind of stuff.
Some of my family is talking with Wednesday’s, my brothers are talking with her’s, my dad and some of my uncles are talking with her dad, and my mom and aunt are talking with her mom.
“Would you look at that, our families is getting along so well” I point out.
“I know, it’s awful.” She replies.

Wednesday’s family went to go to family therapy while I continued to hang out with mine, some of us went into Jericho to hang out, we went into the Weathervane to grab some coffee and I noticed the Sheriff sitting down. He looks up and notices all of us, he had particular trouble dealing with my cousins Gojo and Oliver, they were the ones who most often broke the law.
“No, no, you two can not be back again, not again.”
“Well hello Sheriff Galpin, what can we do for you?” Gojo greeted him.
“Hey, it’s alright I’m helping him with the murder investigation, he’s cool, Sheriff you don’t have to worry my family is only in town for the weekend.” I defuse.
“That’s still one weekend longer than I have the patience for.”
“So do you have the DNA test back yet?” I ask.
“No, hold on this might be it, hello, you got the test?” He says answering a phone call. “Ah shit.” He says before walking out.
“Woah, dad what happened?” Tyler asked him.
“You know the local coroner? He just blew his brains out.”
Later we see Wednesday and her family storming out of Kinbott’s office and Bianca and her mom come in and start talking, I feel like they both want their privacy so I stay with my family while we hang out.

I manage to get some alone time when I head to the bee hives. It’s there that me and Wednesday run into each other.
“So, how was family therapy?”
“Awful, my mother still refuses to tell me the truth about Garret Gates, the man my father is accused of murdering.” She vents.
“That sucks, I sorry you have to deal with that.”
“Are we going to beat around the bush forever or are we going to finally talk about what happened last weekend?” She asked me.
“Which part, a lot happened?” I asked for clarification.
She then pulled me into the shed for some reason.
“You know even if someone was watching they probably only started getting suspicious now.”
“How could you not tell me you’re having panic attacks?”
“I didn’t know my mental health is any of your concern, what does it matter anyway?”
“If you have a panic attack in the middle of us dealing with the monster then it could put you at risk, and I don’t want to lose one of the only bearable people in this place.”
“As touching as that was, you don’t need to worry I’ll be fine.” I say before leaving the shed.
We gather some honey and head over to Eugene’s room to talk to him, this is Wends’ first time seeing him after the attack. Turns out she had Thing keep an eye on him.
“He didn’t deserve this, I should be in that bed.”
“Don’t say that Wends, it’s not your fault.” I say trying to comfort her.
We then feel hands on our shoulders and we turn around quickly to be met by Eugene’s parents, Sue and Janet, turns out he was talking about us all the time. We decided to leave as they deserved to have time with their son.

We’re now at lunch in Nevermore sitting with our families. Apparently Wednesday saw her mom visit Garret Gates’ grave earlier. My family and Wednesday’s are still joking around with each other. Enid and Ajax have seemed to patch things up since the Rave’N, Enid is still dealing with her mom’s disappointment in her lack of wolfness.
Suddenly the Sheriff is bursting in avoiding principal Weems’ questions and heading straight for Mr. Addams.
“You’re under arrest for the murder of Garret Gates, you have the right to remain silent anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law, you have the right to an attorney, if you cannot afford an attorney one will appointed for you.”
Everyone sits there shocked at the scene unfolding before us.

Enid vented to me about how her mom wants to send her to lycanthropy camps to help her wolf out which is beyond messed up, Wednesday visited her father and is now convinced of his innocence, of course I believe her, she’s usually right about these sorts of things.
Later that night I’m woken up by the sound of my phone ringing. “Hello.”
“Y/N.” I hear the familiar deadpan voice on the other end.
“Wends, what’s up, I thought you didn’t have a phone.”
“I don’t, I need you to come down to the police station.”
“Why?”
“I’ll tell you when you get here.”
I sneak out and head to the station where I find Wednesday, and her parents in a couple of cells, she explains the story of how they got arrested to me and to say I was shocked and disturbed would be an understatement.
“To prove your fathers innocence you dug up a grave and stole the corpse’s finger to prove they had died before your father killed him?” I ask just to check.
“That is correct.” Wednesday confirms.
“And you didn’t invite me!” I shout, this could’ve been a very fun night of digging up graves and foiling conspiracies.
We end up going over our plan and the next morning Me and Wednesday’s brother Pugsley, bailed them out, it was then that me Wednesday, and Mrs. Addams go to Mayor Walkers office to talk to him about our theory.
He confirms that Garrett died of nightshade poisoning after his father gave him some to spike the punch at the Rave’N 30 years ago but he accidentally got some in his system. I swear that dance is cursed.
We manage to blackmail him into dropping all charges against Wednesday’s father. While we were at it I wanted to ask for a pet camel provided by the town but Wednesday said that was stupid.

Wednesday finally managed to start opening up to her mother about her powers and Mrs. Addams explains some of the aspects of their powers and their ancestors. Mr. Addams and the Sheriff managed to work things out as well. Enid finally stood up to her mom and her dad praised her, I always liked that guy. I have no idea what was going on with Bianca and her mom. My family congratulated me on freeing Mr. Addams and all of our families left, after they left Wednesday realized something shocking. Which is why we are barging into Weems’ office right now.
“You’re a shape shifter.”
“That’s a fascinating theory.”
“I curious to find out how Sheriff Galpin feels when I tell him.”
This causes Weems to admit to impersonating Rowan after he died and lying to the Sheriff, and that she had Rowan’s family support, that Rowan was driven insane and that his death managed to allow them to stop him or the school from being in hot water.
“I’m doing what I did to protect the school and shield the students from harm.”
“Tell that to Eugene, how are you protecting him?” I ask her.
We then hear shouting outside and look out the window to see fire burning on the lawn saying fire will rain.

I asked Wednesday to meet me in my dorm before we head to bed.
“Nice pets.” she compliments.
“Thanks, so there’s something I wanted to talk to you about.” I tell her.
“Go on.”
“With everything going on, the chances of either of us getting hurt or dying is only getting higher so there’s something I should probably tell you.”
Wednesday looks a little nervous when I say that but manages to speak up. “Spit it out then, what is it?”
“I like you Wednesday, as in more than friends or partners.” I say, a look of shock spreads across her face. “I know you probably don’t feel the same way and that you’d probably think of this as a distraction from the case but I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if you never knew and I-” Before I can ramble on any more Wednesday closes the distance between us by kissing me.
We stay that way for a few seconds before she pulls back.
“I can’t deny my own personal feelings for you, we seem to be compatible in many different ways, we understand each other and are able to be around each other without vomiting, which can’t be said for most of the school.” She says, I laugh at the last part. “As annoying as your brothers are, I … care about you enough to look past them.”
We then kiss again for a few more seconds before Wednesday leaves and I spend the entire night wondering what just happened.

Playing Detectives Pt 4 (Wednesday x Male Reader)
Y/N and Wednesday learned of a potential new lead in their case in the form of Jericho’s founder Joseph Crackstone, meanwhile Wednesday’s latest stunt puts her on thin ice and when they learn that the monster is actually human Y/N and Wednesday start considering who they can trust.
I already have enough on my plate to deal with as it is with the prophecy only getting more confusing as a four hundred year old pilgrim who discriminated against out casts and tried to kill Wends’ ancestor is now seemingly involved, as well as the monster being a human, now I have to consider who I can trust outside of Wends anyone is a suspect, and of course Xavier just about proving that the Rowan we saw was a doppelgänger. But I also have to deal with possibly one of the worst things about this place, the Rave’n, one of our many school dances. I used to get asked a decent amount but I think they gave up trying, that or no one wanted to go with me after the scar on my eye took up part of my face. I would ask Wednesday to go as friends but our time would be much better spent focusing on the case.
Another thing on our plate is that Ajax stood Enid up on their date, I had to stop Wends from shooting him with a nail gun. I asked him about it and it turns out he stoned himself and missed the date, I suggested he tell Enid but he was too embarrassed, and I won’t tell her because it isn’t my place to.
At the moment however I should focus as me and Wednesday are sneaking into the morgue to inspect a dead body, we got word that the homeless guy we found in the old meeting house had been brutally murdered. Me and Wends slide in under the door as Thing sticks bubblegum onto the camera.
“Find the files on the monsters other victims and make copies, don’t pout, your scalpel skills are questionable.” She tells Thing as we go to find the body.
“Remember on my thirteenth birthday when Uncle Fester got me that cadaver, you sliced right through that man’s carotid.”
We check various containers and make occasional comments.
“Magnificent hematoma.”
Eventually we find the one, Wednesday starts recording her findings as we check the bodies injuries and Thing makes copies.
We see that the body’s left foot is missing when Thing starts telling us people are coming, we shut the container and hide in some empty ones.
The Sheriff and Mortician talk for a minute before the Sheriff leaves, the Mortician then opens the container with Wednesday in it but believes her to be a dead body and then leaves.
Thing opens our containers but Wednesday requests five more minutes inside.

Me and Wends are hanging out in her dorm putting our findings on a board.
“When I suggested giving your side of the room a makeover I did not have Ted Bundy’s Pinterest in mind.” Enid says.
“Still not as creepy as your stuffed unicorn collection.” Wednesday replies.
“Is this why you snuck out last night?”
“We may have made an unsanctioned trip to the morgue to copy the files of the monster’s victims.”
“Okay, there are so many levels of ew in that statement I don’t know where to begin.”
“We need to get inside its head, discover any patterns or anomalies, we’ve already made a big discovery, turns out all of the monsters victims have had body parts surgically removed, the first one a kidney, the second one a finger.” Wednesday says while handing Enid pictures.
“Wednesday, I don’t feel-”
“Third a gall bladder, and the bearded man from the meeting house two toes, do you understand what this means? These models aren’t mindless, he’s collecting trophies like a seasoned serial killer. It’s impressive, actually.” Wednesday says as we turn around and see that Enid has fainted. We turn back to Thing and request that he fetch the smelling salts again.

We are in Thornihill’s class now, I’m dozing off as I sit next to Gwen, I get excited when I hear Thornhill bring up something about sexual trickery but get disappointed when I realize she’s just talking about plants.
Bianca makes some joke about the Rave’n which causes Thornhill to solidify herself as my favorite teacher by revealing that because of the dance she isn’t going to assign homework.
Xavier talks to Wednesday about the dance but she says something about sticking needles in her eyes, we then both notice the scratches on his neck.
We look to each other and silently agree to follow him.

We follow him to his art studio and hide behind some trees.
“We need to do this, Xavier didn’t get those scratches from fencing, he’s hiding something.”
We walk into the studio and see several pictures of the monster looking like they’re staring right at us.
“I suppose every artist needs a muse.”
“A muse is a pretty girl or a bowl of fruit, this is just creepy.” I say
“Xavier you just said that much more interesting.” Wednesday said as she grabbed some pictures.
We head out but Xavier spots Wednesday, I duck behind the shed to avoid being seen.
“Wednesday.”
“Xavier, hello.”
“What are you doing?”
“Nothing, I just saw you come out this way, what is this place?”
“It’s kind of my private art studio, I cleared it out and fixed it up so Weems lets me use it.”
“How very entrepreneurial, I would love to see inside. Why don’t you give me a tour?”
“Not right now, it’s a total mess.”
“I shadowed a crime scene photographer last summer, I’m not easily fazed.” I feel like she wouldn’t easily be fazed even if she didn’t shadow ad crime scene photographer.
“Maybe another time, why were you looking for me?”
“I wanted to go over Ms. Thornhill’s homework assignment.” Damn it Wends Thornhill didn’t give out homework, now he’s going to realize that we think he’s the monster.
“She didn’t give us homework, remember?” Shit, shit, shit shit. “Why are you really out here?” Double shit. “Is this about a certain dance that makes you want to poke needles into your eyes, perhaps?” Well, that was lucky. “I’m all ears.”
“Are you really going to make me ask?” Wednesday said. Wait what?
“Oh, absolutely.” Why this cocky, why would Wends actually go with him, I thought she hated the idea of dances just like me.
What then followed was a near half minute of Wednesday trying to ask Xavier to the dance before finally managing to spit it out. I don’t know why but when she finally asked and Xavier said yes it felt like my stomach dropped and everything just stopped for a second, why would I be disappointed about Wends going to the dance with X-, oh shit, I see what’s happening, I am starting to like Wednesday romantically, well shit, this sucks, we’re partners and good friends, being a couple would just ruin all of that.

While it’s clear that Wednesday is only going with Xavier to get info and check to see whether or not he is our monster, it still honestly feels sucky. And now I have to deal with therapy.
“I do actually have something I want to talk about today.” I say when I sit down.
Dr. Kinbott looked shocked by this and immediately grabbed her notebook. “Really, ok, what is it?” She asked.
“There’s this girl I like who I’m really close to, and I just realized I like her as more than friends, and there’s a dance coming up and she’s going with someone else and I know she’s not interested in him she’s just going for other reasons but I still feel shitty about it, I also don’t want to ruin our friendship by asking her out, and would I be a bad friend if I don’t feel happy if she was happy with someone else?” I ramble.
“That’s a lot to unpack, let’s start with this girl, is it Wednesday?” I normally would say no but the shocked face I give her manages to reveal the truth. “I see you two walking around a lot, you would be cute together, why do you feel like your friendship would be ruined by asking her out, or why do you think she would say no?”
“Well we just work so well as friends and partners, and I know that she would say no because she is this pretty, cool, smart, girl who seems to have guys throwing themselves at her, I don’t want to be selfish by putting my desires before our friendship.”
“It isn’t selfish to put your own happiness first every now and again.” She says trying to support me.
“Why would she go out with me, she’s perfect, and I’m broken.” I say putting my hand over my scarred eye as I smile at Dr. Kinbott.
“What do you mean by broken? Is it your scar? How did you get it?”
“Under normal circumstances I would never tell you this, but stuff has been feeling shitty recently and … I guess I finally need to let some stuff out to someone who doesn’t share my last name. I had another brother once, my parents first kid, he had bipolar, some days we were best friends doing everything together, others he hated me and stayed in his room all day, one time during dinner, on one of his bad days, I was joking and being loud and it was annoying him, so he grabbed his steak knife and cut at my eye, my parents rushed me to the hospital and not long after that he put a shotgun in his mouth.” I confess, telling the story for the first time since it happened.
I start to break down and the doc comforted me, handing me some tissues and saying it’s alright while all I said was either it’s my fault or that I’m broken. God I miss Arthur, so much.

After that I walked around Jericho before running into Wednesday.
“Where are you coming from?” She asked.
“Therapy.” I answer. “You?”
“Enid wanted to take me dress shopping but I managed to get out of it, now come on let’s go see the Sheriff.”
We then walked over to the Sheriff’s office and showed him the pictures we found in Xavier’s studio.
“We both know there is a monster out there, if we’re going to stop it, I think it’s time we put our differences aside and work together.”
“And this is your stake for me to deal you two in.” He then takes out any other picture and compares them. “I’m sorry, you gotta do better than that, you got some nice detail though.”
“We didn’t draw it.” I inform him.
“I need to know who did.” He says.
“Unless we’re exchanging intel I’m not at liberty to say.”
“Why would I share information on an ongoing murder investigation with a couple of high school kids?” He asks.
“Because we go to Nevermore and you don’t, don’t you want some eyes and ears behind those ivy covered walls?”
“Listen, Velma and Shaggy, why don’t you and the Scooby gang stick to your homework and leave the investigating to the professionals.” He says before getting a phone call, personally I feel like I would be Scooby but alright. “What?” He starts to talk on the line before calling us back.
“Let me see that sketch again, the person who drew this, that your suspect? When you bring me some concrete evidence maybe we’ll talk.”
We then finally leave the office but we end up running into Tyler.
“Don’t wanna ask what trouble you’re in now.”
“Nothing we can’t handle, your father’s in particularly frustrating form today, avoid.”
“Welcome to my world, you guys have the Rave’N this weekend right? It was all the buzz at the Weathervane today.”
“I must be the only one not obsessed with this stupid dance.” Wends says.
“So you’re not going?” He asks
“Actually, I was forced to ask someone as an act of self preservation.” I died a little inside when she said this, liking someone is so annoying.
“Sure that happens, I guess. So who is it?”
“Xavier.”
“Got it, hope you two have fun.”
“I’m not sure why you’re upset.”
“That’s kind of the problem, I mean call me crazy Wednesday but you keep giving me these signals.” I’m sorry what signals, occasional conversation is signals for this guy.
“It’s not my fault I can’t interpret your emotional Morse code.”
“Then let me spell it out, I thought we liked each other, but then you pull something like this and I have no idea where I stand, am I in the more than friend zone or just a pawn in some game you’re playing?” Well at least when I like a girl, I don’t blame her for not liking me back.
“I’m just dealing with a lot right now, I need to prioritize.”
“Thanks for cleaning that up, I guess, give me a call if I ever move up your to do list.” Tyler says before walking off.
“Not one word.” Wednesday says to me and Thing.

Wednesday and I moved our murder board into the beekeeping shed, with Eugene’s permission and Enid’s insistence.
“No worries. Mi colmena es us colmena. I assume this is the creature that’s been rampaging in the woods”
“You told him?” Wednesday glared at me.
“We told your roommate.” I said deadpan staring at the board.
“Mr. Fits banned me from bug hunting until further notice. Speaking of monsters with sharp claws can you give this to your roommate, put in a good word for me?” He asked Wends. “I hear she’s still sans date for the Rave’N.”
“Eugene.”
“I know the chances of her asking me are next to zero, but I don’t care. I’ll keep putting myself out there until Enid finally sees me.” God I need this kid’s confidence.
“And if she never was.”
“She will, I’m playing the long game, my moms say people will appreciate me when I’m older, I know they’re just trying to make me feel better, but-”
“Listen people like us, we’re original thinkers, intrepid outliers in this vast cesspool of adolescence. We don’t need these inane rites of passage to validate who we are, Y/N?”
“Most of the people going are self absorbed shit bags anyway.” I chime in.
“Exactly.”
“So you’re not going to the Rave’N either?” He asks us.
“I’m not.” I say.
“Actually, I am, with Xavier”
“I see.”
“It’s not like I like Xavier, I just have ulterior motives, sketches are the closest thing me and Y/N have to a lead to try and stop this thing.”
“That circle, I think I know where that is.” Eugene tells us.
“Show us.”
We walk through the woods for a few minutes before coming across a cave that looks like the circles in one of Xavier’s drawings.’
“You think it’s in there?” He asks us/
“Only one way to find out.”
We walk up to the entrance.
“I’m not a huge fan of enclosed spaces, I’m claustrophobic.”
“If you hear me screaming bloody murder there’s a good chance I’m just enjoying myself.”
We then walk into the cave and look around with our flashlights, we find deer bones and find some shackles attached to the wall with scratch marks around them and a claw jammed into the rocks.

Me and Wednesday go into Xaviers studio to find something to match for DNA to present to the Sheriff.
After we grab something Xavier walks in.
“The hell you doing he asks us?”
“How do you know what the monster looks like? Or all these just self portraits.”
“What, you think it’s me? I saved your life.”
“So did the monster. Or was that you the night Rowan was killed?”
“You are so out of line right now.”
“We’re just trying to uncover the truth, and your art seems to have a recurring motif.”
“Yeah, this creature’s been haunting my dreams for the past couple of weeks, I try to block it out, but I can’t so I just come in here and paint it, when I was painting this one the claws reached out of the canvas and took a swipe at me, that’s how I got these scratches”
“I thought you were able to control your ability.”
“Not when it comes to this thing.”
“Maybe it’s just your guilty conscience.”
“I told you I’m not the monster, okay?”
Wednesday then takes out the drawing of the cave.
“So you just happened to draw pictures of it down to the location of its lair in the woods? Those are some pretty vivid dreams.”
“You were in there before, when I caught you, that’s the only reason you asked me to the Rave’N isn’t it? To try and cover, you are unbelievable.”
“It’s nothing personal.”
“It never is with you is it? I mean, do you even care about anyone or anything at all, Wednesday? Get out! Both of you out!”
We do as he requests and leave to go to the Sheriff’s.

We hand the Sheriff our DNA samples.
“That’s the claw of the monster and that’s a dried blood sample from a potential suspect, he used it to dab scratches on his neck, run the DNA test and see if they match.”
“I’m sorry, do I work for you?”
“You asked for concrete evidence, that’s it”
“Where’d you get this? And who’s the suspect?”
“Run the test first then I’ll explain everything.”
“I’m not playing games.”
“Neither are we Sheriff.”
“Bernice, bring me a DNA authorization form please.”

Me and Wednesday were now back at Nevermore, we saw Eugene sulking by the fountain.
“Why so glum?” She asked him.
“Saw Enid at lunch, asked if she got my honey.”
“It’s not like I didn’t warn you, since none of us have a date to the dance-”
“We should all go together!” Eugene said enthusiastically.
“What? No, I was going to suggest we stake out the cave and identify the monster, whoever it may be.”
We then looked over at Xavier before walking off.
“Don’t worry man, someday you will get a girl who genuinely loves everything about you.” I comfort him.

Me and Eugene spent the better part of the afternoon getting ready, I was bringing minimal supplies, flashlights, some snacks if we get hungry, and I snuck one of my swords from my forgery with some runic engravings on it for extra measure just to be safe, the runes give it some ice powers and stuff, also some walkie talkies.
We began to head downstairs to meet Wends and head out.
“You excited buddy? Your first stake out.” I ask him.
“Yeah, I also just wanted to say thanks, if it wasn’t for you and Wednesday I wouldn’t really have any friends so it means a lot to me you guys are including me.”
“When you’re an outcast amongst outcasts it’s probably smart to stick together.”
“Yeah, not many others here love bees as much as us.”
“Also I have a massive pile of manga in my closet.” I confess. “The only ones who know are now you and Thing.”
“What?” He laughs.
“Tell anyone and I’ll kill you and hide your body in one of the hives.” I threaten also laughing.
We keep walking until we see Wends, in a dress, with Tyler, shit.
“Wednesday, what’s going on?” Eugene asks her. “What happened to staking out the cave?”
“Don’t worry we get it, we’ll check it out ourselves.” I say turning to head out.
“No, it’s too dangerous, stand down.” She tells us. “We’ll go together tomorrow night, understood?”
“Come on Wends, this our first real lead in a while. I’ll watch out for him.” I offer, she should go and have fun, even if it isn’t with me.
“You especially shouldn’t go.” She tells me almost as if it was a warning.
“Come on, here.” I hand her one of the radios from my bag. “We can be in contact at all times, if things gets hairy we’ll call.”
“Fine if you must go, you will remain by your radios at all times, and at the first sign of danger, run.” She tells us sternly
“Yes ma’am.” I say jokingly.
With that we part ways, Wednesday to the Rave’N with Tyler, me to the cave with Eugene. But, if there is one thing I know about Wednesday is that she always looks forward to the next thing, she never looks back, so why did I notice her looking back at me when we left.

We’ve been here for half an hour by this point, I always loved the vibe of the woods at night, the bugs chirping, owls hooting, the moonlight shrouded by the clouds. It just feels peaceful. Eugene talks in his voice recorder about how there has been no movement but he did here a type of bug he liked so that’s nice.
“Hey man put that thing away for a second will you?” I ask.
“Sure what is it?”
“What I’m about to tell you never gets out, you will tell no one, not Enid, not Thing, nobody.”
“Not even Wednesday?”
“Especially not Wends.”
“This feels a bit more serious than a giant manga collection.” He jokes.
“Yeah it is, I may or may not have been developing romantic feelings for a certain goth girl in our beekeeping club.”
“First we’re called the Nevermore Hummers, but wait, you seriously have a crush on Wednesday?”
“Yeah.” I confess.
“Well why didn’t you ask her to the dance?”
“I don’t know? First she was going with Xavier, then we were staking out this cave, and now she’s there with Tyler.”
“I can’t believe she bailed on us for the dance.”
“Don’t blame Wends, she’s been focusing on the case a lot, she deserves to have fun.” I defend her.
“But you’ve been focusing on it just as much, you should be able to go as well.”
“Yeah, I guess, but it wouldn’t feel the same not being there with her, at least when she was going with Xavier I knew she didn’t have feelings for him, but with Tyler it’s different, she’s choosing to be there with him right now.”
We then wait around a couple more hours before we hear a car pull up to the cave and someone gets out. They walk over to the cave before throwing in a Molotov cocktail. After throwing it in they shine their flashlight directly at us and run away as fast as we can.
We run for a few minutes before hiding behind some trees. We stop to catch our breath but we start to hear the monster snarling and we continue our run.
In the distance I can hear Wends shouting our names, either that or I’m just hallucinating. Before I know it Eugene trips over and loses his glasses, I turn to try and run back but the monster gets to him before I do. He slash my sword at it a few times before it runs off.
“Eugene, wake up kid, it’s gone, you’re alright.” I try to say to him. Before I know it I’m hyperventilating, my vision’s getting blurry, and everything is feeling numb, I don’t even notice it until Wednesday shakes me and yells my name.
“Y/N”
That starts to take me out of it as I notice her hand on mine and her terrifying yet somewhat comforting stare into my soul.
Thornhill runs in and yells. “Is he’s alive!”

Playing Detectives Pt 3 (Wednesday x Male Reader)
Finally starting to move a few steps forward into their investigation Y/N have discovered the existence of a secret society, found the second half to the drawing the details their destiny, and while they were at it they knocked Wednesday’s mortal enemy down a peg, however they have just been seemingly kidnapped.
The two of us are now tied to couple of chairs, after the bags are ripped off of our heads a projector is used to shine light into our eyes and in front of us stand several hooded figures wearing masks, most of whom are clearly people we know.
“Who dares breach our inner sanctum.” Bianca says distorting her voice
“You can take the mask off Bianca.” Wednesday replies.
Everyone takes off their own masks as well, Bianca, Ajax, Xavier, Yoko, Divina, even Jack, Jason, Gwen, and Amelia are there.
“Wait I preferred you with it on.” Wednesday says, which me, Jack, and Jason laugh at.
“How did you get down here?” Xavier asks.
“Rowan showed us.” I respond.
“Left pocket.” Wednesday says.
Xavier walks over and takes the drawing out of her pocket and unfolds it.
“We tracked the watermark down to the Poe statue and then we solved the riddle.”
“Wait there’s a riddle? I thought we just snap twice.” One of them questions.
“Well aren’t you the brightest in the bunch.”
“The Nightshade are an elite social club, emphasis on elite.” Bianca says.
“We have roof parties, campouts, the occasional midnight skinny dip.” One of the says.
“And Yoko is an amateur mixologist.” Another says.
“She makes a killer virgin mojito, it can get pretty wild.”
“Wow do you guys even have a bed time, last I heard the Nightshades have been disbanded.” Wednesday says sarcastically.
“Yeah, the group kind of lost their charter thirty years ago after some normie kid died.” Xavier answers.
“But we have a lot of wealthy alumni so Weems looks the other way as long as no one makes any waves.” One of them answers.
“Wait how come none of you guys ever told me about this?” I ask my siblings and cousin.
“We tried to you just never cared to listen to us.” Jason answered.
“Name one time.” I challenge, seriously I pay attention to them and care about what they’re up to, I find it hurtful they don’t think that.
“A few months ago when I first joined I tried to tell you but you said you were busy reading.” Gwen says.
“One month ago we were going to invite you to take the pledge but you said you couldn’t talk because you were going to beekeeping.” Jack says.
“I literally was about to invite you for the third time to take the pledge last week but you said you had to go down to your forgery.” Amelia points out
“You have a forgery?” Wednesday asks.
“Yeah Weems lets me have as long as nobody gets stabbed and all the swords I make stay in there.” I explain.
“We’re getting off track here what is your history with Rowan?” Wednesday asks.
“We booted that loser last semester, question is what are going to do with them?” Bianca says. “Only members are allowed in this library.”
“I say we invite her to pledge.” Xavier says. “She has a legacy.” He then points to a picture of Wednesday’s parents when they went here.
“What about me?” I ask.
“We could invite him too.” Gwen suggests.
“After the crap she pulled in the Poe Cup there’s no way in hell, we talk about not making waves she’s a tsunami, and Y/N is like her shadow.” Bianca says rejecting us, I personally think of me and Wednesday as equal partners so the shadow comment wasn’t appreciated, especially with the glare I earned from Xavier after it.
“Just because I beat you at your own game, let me save you the trouble, I’m not interested in joining.”
“Me neither.” I say.
“You’re seriously turning us down.” One of them says sounding offended.
“Can you believe it.” Wednesday says sarcastically.
“Untie them.” Bianca orders.
“We freed ourselves five minutes ago.” Wednesday says as we hold up the ropes and I flip them off.
We then get up and hand our ropes to Xavier, as we make our way to the staircase one of them blocks our way, this one had a black eye, I don’t know how they got it but I have a feeling Wednesday was involved.
“Do you want a matching black eye?” She threatens as I crack my knuckles.
We then make our way up the stairs before Wednesday stops. “It’s amateurs like you who give kidnapping a bad name.”
We then leave.

I’m now sitting in my next Therapy session having to deal with avoiding some of Kinbott’s exercises.
“What does this ink blotch look like?”
“The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.”
“And this one Y/N”
“The birthmark on my uncle’s ass.”
She sighs and puts the cards down on her lap. “Y/N, we’ve been having our sessions for half a year at this point, and we barely made any headway, so stop bullshiting this and for once give me a straight answer.”
“We have made progress, several weeks ago we realized a trigger for my panic attacks are moments where I feel guilty for some reason or another.” I point out.
She just holds up the card, I sigh and take a good look at it. “A cat and a bird.” I answer.
“Hm, that answer indicates that the patient is holding onto guilt from a traumatic experience they believe is there fault, what do you think is that experience?”
“I have no idea.” I lie through my teeth, I know perfectly well what it is, and I don’t have any intention on telling anyone.”
We run out the session talking about stuff that has been going on at school and stuff.

Me and Wends are standing out in the quad holding the drawing of the two of us and the pilgrim surrounded by fire up to where the events are apparently going to take place.
We were also out in the quad because of Weems’ announcement, we will all be doing jobs around Jericho as part of, in my opinion, the most horrible part of the year, outreach day. But today we have to deal with going to some unveiling of a statue in the town, it will have performances by Nevermore students, I know Enid and Gwen are doing one of the performances so I’ll watch for them.
Now we are getting handed the envelopes saying where we are working.
“Yes, I got Pilgrim World, I do have natural people skills and a love of preforming so it’s kind of the obvi choice. What did you guys get.” Enid asks us.
“I got the Weathervane.” I answer.
“Euriah’s heap, whatever that is.” Wednesday says causing Enid to grimace.
“It’s this weird creepy antique store, you’ll like it though, I’m crossing my claws Ajax and I get paired together.” Enid says excitedly.
We then look over at him and Xavier and I hear him say he’s got the Weathervane as well, that should be fun.
Enid leaves and Weems comes over and tells Wednesday that she will be playing her cello alongside the Jericho high school band.
We hop on one of the vans to Jericho.
Wednesday goes to talk with Xavier while he’s staring some blank wall and I go off to explore a little.
We then go sit at the town square as the Mayor thanks us for our generosity and makes some corny joke before Weems dismisses us.
“Enid switch volunteer assignments with me.” Wednesday asks her.
“No, Euriah’s heap is definitely not my bag.”
“It’s an emergency I need to check out Pilgrim World.”
“But Wednesday this isn’t a fair trade why would I agree to spend the entire day at some dumpy emporium of crappola.”
“Because Ajax is going to be there, Thing took sneaked a peek at his assignment, but if you’re not interested.”
“No, oh my god, thank you, you’re the best.” Enid thanks her before running off.
“Good luck at Pilgrim World, I got that one last year a lot of Normies work there and they hate Nevermore kids.” I warn before we part ways.

I’ve been working here for about an hour and nothing really special has been going on, when Tyler tried to show me and Xavier how to make the coffee I showed him I already know how. I saw Weems, Thornhill, and the Mayor talking for a little bit but I didn’t really care what they were talking about, probably just boring stuff about taxes or bills or whatever adults talk about.
When I catch Xavier glaring again at me I decide that enough is enough.
“Look man, either you can actually yell at me or you can keep pouting like a baby, which will it be.”
“I don’t know, so far pouting seems to be doing just fine.”
“What is up with you, we never really hung out but now it feels like you hate me.”
He then sighs and leans against the counter. “Honestly I’m just jealous of you and Wednesday, somehow you made it so she doesn’t hate being around you at every moment.”
“Dude me and Wednesday aren’t dating if that’s what you’re worried about, we’re just looking into Rowan and the monster.” I answer, I don’t know why but when I say that me and Wends aren’t a thing I feel a little twinge in my chest.
“Yeah she was asking about him and Crackstone earlier.”
“Crackstone?” I ask.
“Jeez, it’s like I’m the only one who knows anything about him, he founded Jericho, he was in some picture she was looking at that had you two in it as well.” He tells me.
“Thanks, that’s really helpful, and me and Wednesday are really only friends, we cool?” I ask him.
“Yeah we’re good.” He says.
“Hey you ever gonna tell everyone what happened to your eye, I know it happened a few years ago and that you missed a few weeks of school for it but other than that not even Enid knows?” He asks.
“Nah, and no offense we may have just gotten back on good terms but if I ever finally tell everyone what went down with my eye it most certainly won’t be you.”
We share a quick laugh before he walks off to help a customer.
I help a few more customers before Wednesday walks in, sadly she’s in her Nevermore uniform, I would have paid anything to see her in the Pilgrim uniform, Eugene better have grabbed me a picture.
Xavier went to greet her, but she quickly turned him away, saying she’s there to talk to Tyler.
“You know the original pilgrim meeting house from the 1600s, do you know if it’s still around?”
“What’s left of it is out in the woods but it’s pretty much in ruins.”
I finally walk over to them and look at the map.
“Show us.” She says, he points to where it is.
“But it’s kinda sketchy, squatters and methheads use that place as a crash pad, my dad has to clear it out every couple of weeks, what’s this about?” he asks.
“Nothing.” She says.
“You guys are really becoming obsessed with this whole monster in the woods thing.”
“Would you rather I developed an obsession with horses and boy bands? Thank you for the help.”
I go to grab my stuff to tag along while Tyler says he could take her later which she rejects, why do I feel happy that she turned him down.
“I’m taking my lunch brake boss.” I tell Tyler tossing the ridiculous apron behind the counter as I walk out with Wednesday, I notice Xavier looking at us, I swear if he still thinks me and Wednesday are dating I will trash his art studio.

We arrive at the ruins of the old pilgrim meeting house and start to investigate.
Thing signs that he was expecting more when an old homeless guy asks her who she’s talking too, Thing manages to scare him off by grabbing onto his throat.
We look around a little more before Thing asks if she can control her visions.
“No, I can’t just touch something, my visions happen spontaneously.”
He then signs that she should ask her mom for advice.
“I’d rather dye my hair pink then ask my mother for advice, oh you want me to prove it to you.” She then goes around touching various parts of the ruins before grabbing a Taco Bell bag, sarcastically saying it would give them some real insight, and faking a vision. For as closed off and deadpan as she is, Wends has a great sense of humor.
“We could still give it a shot.” I suggest.
“No, my visions are about as predictable as a shark attack.” She remarks walking away, but when her hand touches the door she has another vision causing her to fall, I catch her and lay her down on the ground. While she’s out I decide to make small tall with Thing.
“How do you get you’re nails to look so good?” I ask
‘Me and Enid give each other manicures.’ He signs
“Ah.”
‘What makes your family outcasts?’ He asks
“We are wizards but we mostly focus on alchemy and runes.” I answer
We then spend a while just chatting about mine family and his and Wednesday’s.
“It looks like it’s going to rain, maybe we’ll get lucky and have to miss the statue thing” I say looking at the sky.
Wednesday bolts up looking shocked. “Thing, Y/N I saw her, the girl from my visions, her name is Goody Addams and I believe she is my ancestor from 400 years ago.”
Now, if I went to any other school and befriended any other girl, then this would sound insane, but since I don’t I wasn’t as shocked as one might have been hearing this, I was still shocked, but not as shocked.
We then get up as it started to rain and we heard sounds coming from outside, we look and suddenly the monster reveals itself. As quickly as it appears it runs off. We run after it and followed it’s tracks, but something strange happened, the tracks started shifting from that of the monster to human tracks.
“The monster is human.” Wednesday thinks out loud.
“What the hell are you doing?” Xavier asks holding his umbrella suddenly appearing from out of nowhere.
“We were following the monster.” Wednesday answers.
“Wait you saw it, it’s here, you have a death with or something?”
“What exactly are you doing out here?” Wednesday asks him.
“I heard you were checking out the old meeting house, guess I’m just lucky when I did.” He says as if we couldn’t have handled it ourselves.
“We did learn one thing, the monster is human, it’s tracks turn from monster prints to human ones.”
“Show me.”
We turn to show him but the rain washed the tracks away, Xavier scoffs at that.
“We know what we saw.” Wednesday says.
“I’m trying to keep an open mind.”
“How big of you.”
“I think you may be right about Rowan.”
“Why the sudden change of heart?” I ask him.
“I texted him again today, said maybe we should meet up over spring break and go snowboarding like we did last year, only this time he texted right back and said he wouldn’t be able to make it.”
“Only you never went snowboarding last year.” Wednesday realizes.
“Part of me wanted to blame his recent weirdness, I didn’t want to think that something bad had happened.”
“The cover up is always worse than the crime.” Wednesday says.
“I need you to be honest with me, why did you guys come out to the old meeting house in the first place.”
“We were trying to lean more about Crackstone, figure out how he’s connected to all this.” I say.
“Yeah and you were trying to use your psychic abilities, right.” He says to Wends.
“What makes you think I have any?” She asks.
“Lucky guess, when did they start.”
“About a year ago, when they happen it feels like I’m touching live wire, I usually enjoy that sensation.” She says
“Yeah, but you can’t control it and that freaks you out.” He says “My dad’s a psychic.”
“Vincent Thorp, my brother’s his number one fan.” She reveals. “Watched his Vegas special so many times I’m surprised it’s not imprinted on his eyeballs.”
“So I’ve lived with the self described master and the first thing he’ll tell you is that the visions can’t be trusted, they only show you one half of the picture.”
“I saw Joseph Crackstone as clearly as I’m seeing you now, he gathered all the outcasts in the meeting house and burned them alive.”
“Okay he was a sadistic asshole, so what it was 400 it has nothing to do with now.”
“But what if it does, you saw Rowans drawing, Crackstone was standing in the quad.”
“Your creating a story in your head and using visions to back it up, they’re showing you what you want to see.”
“Are you mansplaning my power?” She asks rhetorically.
“All I’m saying is my dad, the expert, would tell you that psychic ability isn’t rooted in logic, their triggered by emotions, and let’s be honest emotion isn’t your strong suit.”
“I believe Rowan was right, something bad is going to happen and we need to stop it.” Wednesday says referring to the two of us. “Starting with that monster, whoever it is.”
We walk off to go to the town square where for some reason it looks like it never rained and me and Wends were completely dry.
Wednesday went to go set up her Cello while I went to go sit by me family.
“Where are you and Wednesday coming from?” Gwen asked.
“The old meeting house in the woods, we were looking into some stuff and found out that the monster is actually human.” I say
“That’s crazy.” Amelia said shocked.
“That’s what Xavier said when he showed up.” I pointed out.
“Did he really have to be a cockblock for such a romantic date.” Jack said teasingly.
Eventually the Mayor starts to make his speech so I take that as my signal to doze off.
I thought I heard something and when I looked over my shoulder behind the stands I see thing light a match and throw it onto a trial of gasoline, this trail led into the statue’s fountain feature causing it to explode.
While most people ran away me and my family were laughing our asses at the fact the Wends stayed to play her Cello.

After the explosion Wends was sent to Weems’ office. After that Enid had her date with Ajax and I went to sleep, but not before congratulating Wends on a job well done in Jericho today, turning a dreadfully boring assembly into something truly entertaining. I’m also excited to start making some real progress on the case, figuring out who Rowan’s imposter is and who this monster is, are they the same person are they even connected. Who is it, and what is their goal.

Playing Detective Pt 2 (Wednesday x Male Reader)
After having witnessed a monster commit murder and learned of a fate destined for them, Wednesday Addams and Y/N Barron begin to unravel the mysteries of their school and the conspiracies that plague their town.
When I woke up I expected that during the day me and Wednesday would be questioned about the murder of Rowan, what did the monster look like, where did it run off too, did it look like one of our classmate, not gonna lie, it has the same bulging eyes as Kevin from my ancient literature class. However, when we were called to talk to the Sheriff he told us something that confused the hell out of us, Rowan’s body was never found.
“How could you use a dead body?” My pale, monotone, friend asks the Sheriff.
“Because there never was one to begin with, there was no footprints, no blood stains, no sign of a struggle, no nothing, nada. My search party looked all night.”
“Well your search party must have left their seeing eye dogs at home.” She retorts.
I stay quiet during this conversation, I’m honestly just wondering where Rowan could have gone, even if he was alive when we left him he couldn’t have made it far enough away before dying of blood loss later, so what the hell happened. Eventually we end up in Weems’ office, she brings up how nobody has heard from him.
“Dead people are notoriously bad at returning calls.” Wednesday says sarcastically.
“You got anything to add on Barron?” He asks me.
“One person saying that a kid was killed by a monster is something you can just write off as them being crazy, but two means there has to be something going on.” I answer.
“Well knowing the family history of both of you then I would say you’re both crazy.”
“Wednesday if the monster kills me next then please say I told you so to this fool for me.” I tell her, but she almost shows a split second of emotion when I say that.
The sheriff then sits down and asks us what we were doing out there with him.
“We heard a noise, went to go investigate and that’s where we stumbled upon the attack.” I explain.
“Then what happened?”
“We ran into Bianca Barclay and told her to go get help, next thing we knew we woke up in our respective dorm rooms.”
“Just to be clear this monster wasn’t a bear or some other wild animal.”
“I’ve hibernated with bears, I’d know the difference.” She says, I laugh at her response and look at her amused.
“Alright Sheriff, I think that’s enough for now.” Weems chimes in.
“Actually we would like to speak to Sheriff Galpin alone.” Wednesday says.
“Do you now?”
“Yes, we do.” I say.
Weems and Galpin get into a bit of back and forth before deciding to give us five minute alone to talk to him here.
“Someone is trying to cover up Rowan’s murder, it’s the only reason to scrub the crime scene.” Wednesday tells him
“Oh, is that your professional opinion as the daughter of a murderer.” Galpin responds.
“My father is twice the man you are, and the only thing he murders is the occasional opera in the shower.”
Alright I would actually really like to hear that.
“I did join my uncle for a summer internship where I helped him clean up crime scenes, if you let me investigate I could probably find something.” I add in
“Is your uncle forensic cleaner?” He asks.
“ … Sure.” I lie.
“Look Addams, Barron, it’s been a long night and I’m tired of your games,”
“We’re not playing games, we’re telling the truth, you wan to reject our claims but you can’t.” She says.
“And why is that?”
“Because the three know there is a monster out there and Rowan is his latest victim.”
All of a sudden one of his deputies comes in, “Sheriff, you’re gonna want to see this.” Then she opens the other door to reveal Rowan staring there, alive obviously, this has to be one of the few times I’ve seen Wednesday shocked in the short time I’ve known her.

My and Wednesday got bombarded by other students asking a bunch of different things, stuff like why we made up the whole Rowan getting murdered by a monster. The only ones who believed me were Jason, Jack, Amelia, and Gwen. Wednesday said that after her therapy session Tyler told her he believed us.
Ajax is trying to convince me to be part of his team for the Poe Cup but is failing miserably.
“Come on Y/N, we’ll dress as clowns.”
“You’re not a very good salesman.”
“We’ll look terrifying, we can crush the other teams.”
“As appealing as that sounds I got some other things I want to do.”
“Like what?”
“Not have to deal with Xavier’s glaring, ever since me and Wednesday ran into the woods to stop Rowan and saw him get murdered he’s been weird around me.”
“I think he’s just jealous that you’re getting close to Wednesday.”
“Getting called crazy, psycho, and schizo by everyone does tend to drive to people together.” I say sarcastically.
“Alright, well I’ll see you around, and make sure to cheer us on during the race.”
“Would I cheer for anyone else?” I ask him.
“Wednesday.” He replies.
“Like you wouldn’t sink your own ship if Enid gave you puppy dog eyes.”
That ends our conversation as he walks off to go ask other candidate s to be part of his team.

Me and Wednesday walk into Weems’ office. She told me this morning about a watermark she found in the drawing Rowan had so we were going to ask to speak with him, it would also be nice to find out how he survived.
“That wont be possible I’m afraid, he’s been expelled.” She reveals
“For what?”
“Never you two mind, he’ll be on the first train out this afternoon, what were you doing out in the woods with him in first place?”
“We told you already, we heard a noise and went to investigate.”
“That excuse might have placated the Sheriff but you can’t fool me.”
“You had a psychic vision didn’t you Wednesday, I realized you might be having them when we passed by that accident and knew that the farmer broke his neck, your mother started having visions around your age, they’re notoriously unreliable and dangerous, I remember at first she thought she was loosing her mind, have you spoken to her?” She asked, Wednesday remained silent. “Maybe the person withholding information here is you.”
“May we go now?”
“Not until you’ve picked you’re extracurricular activity, we want our students to remain well rounded.” Weems says.
“I prefer to remain sharp edged.” Wednesday retorts.
“I took the liberty of putting together a list of clubs that have openings.”
“How thoughtful.”
“You need to pick one by the end of the day, I’ll be keeping my eye on you, no doubt you’ll find something to tickle your fancy.”
“The last person who tickled me lost a finger.” Wednesday said walking off.
“Ooh beekeeping I’m in that one, it’s awesome.” I say pointing to it on the list.

Me and Wednesday part ways after that and I head over to beekeeping where I get to greet club president, my roommate, and one of my closest friends, Eugene Ottenger.
“Hey Eugene, just want to warn you the new girl might come over to check out the club.” I tell him while putting on my suit, then all of a sudden I hear an ear piercing sound and a bunch of the werewolves barking.
Eventually Wednesday comes over and Eugene walks up to her.
“Are you interested in the ancient art of beekeeping, Eugene, Eugene Ottenger, founder and president of the Nevermore hummers.”
“Wednesday, Wednesday Addams, am I late or is it only you two?”
“The hive life isn’t for everyone, most kids are afraid of venomous insects, are you willing to feel the sting?” He asks her, which she smirks to.
She then goes into the shed to put on her suit.
Eugene then starts talking about bees and Wednesday walks off. When he notices she’s gone he sighs and I run after her shouting sorry to him.

We run up to Rowan as he gets into a car.
“Rowan we need to talk.”
“Wednesday, Y/N, I’m not allowed to speak to anyone.”
“You had a lot to say the other night when you tried to kill us, told us we’re destined to destroy the school remember, where did you get that drawing?”
“I just went into the woods to clear my head, then you two came after me.”
“Wednesday, Y/N, you two shouldn’t be here.” Thornhill tells us.
“Yeah, back off and leave me alone.” He says, well that was a pleasant goodbye.
Thornhill and Rowan drive off leaving us standing there watching.

We reunite in Thornhill’s class where we ask Thing about Rowan as he was sent by Wednesday to tail Rowan.
“How do you lose him in a bathroom with no windows?”
Thing taps in response.
“A lefty wouldn’t have failed me.” Ouch, it honestly hurts seeing Thing look so defeated
“Calm down Wednesday we all make mistakes.” I defend him.
“Well now we have to gather all new evidence ourselves since he lost our only lead.”
“I see you two made a friend who isn’t related to you, even if it is a plant.” Bianca says having not seen Thing.
“We go for quality over quantity.” Wednesday retorts, nice to know she thinks of me as a friend.
Bianca walks off having no response to Wednesday’s insult and we all go to our seats.
Wednesday tries to find a seat and Xavier chimes in.
“There’s an open seat next to me, if you can handle sitting next an elite sit snob.” He offers, I kind of wish I was there when she said that but I know that he would just find some way to blame me for it, seriously can’t this guy accept that me and Wednesday are friends. He then makes the spider he was drawing come to life.
“I doubt Wednesday is impressed by your little tricks Xavier.” Ms. Thornhill taunts him, alright she has to be my favorite teacher.
“Admit it your a little impressed.” He says before Wednesday smashes is drawing causing it to erupt into smoke.
“Wednesday we are thrilled to have you join us in our journey into the world of carnivorous plants, now, who can tell us the name of this beauty.” She says standing in front of her desk wearing her very red boots and pointing to the plant on the left side of her desk.
Wednesday answers when Bianca raises her hand which causes the two to start insulting while talking about the plant each other which only ends when Xavier says, “Are we still talking about flowers.” As annoying as he’s been over the past few days I have to admit that was pretty funny.
“Thank you ladies for those illuminating insights, clearly the plants aren’t the only carnivores in class today.”

After class I go over to beekeeping.
“So, you and Wednesday seem pretty close.” He says implying something, I really don’t feel like killing the only roommate to not ask to move after a week of rooming with me so this is a very annoying conversation topic to deal with.
“We’re friends and nothing more.” I tell him. “Well we are also bound by destiny to determine the fate of the school.” I say revealing the existence of the drawing to Eugene.
“Wait I thought you hated the ideas of fate and destiny.” Eugene says confused
“I do, which is why the drawing Rowan showed us before getting gutted by a monster annoys me so much, and just seers in general, they act like they know everything.”
“Still not clear on how he is dead, didn’t everyone see him after that night?”
“Yeah, I’m confused about that as well.”
“Well don’t worry, I believe you.”
“You can put the suit on in the shed.” Wednesday says talking to Enid as they walk up the path in between the hives.
“Hey Enid, you joining? I though you hated bees?” I said.
“No I’m just covering for Wednesday while she investigates the crime scene.” She reveals
“If Weems comes sniffing around keep your distance, look grim, and don’t say a word.” Wednesday tells her.
“Payback is gonna be a bitch.” She says putting on the headpiece.’
“I’d expect nothing less.”
“Blab and I’ll squeeze you like a honeycomb.” She threatens Eugene.
“Snitches get stung, it’s hive code, besides, I should be thanking you, this is the most girls I’ve ever had in the shed, other than bees.”
“Shocking.”
“I’ve always had a thing for werewolf chicks.”
“The chances that Enid ever becomes romantically interested in you is less than one percent.”
“So I still got a shot, yes!” He celebrates.
“Let’s go.” She tells me.
“Hey, what if I don’t want to get involved in this.” I say, I mean I do, but she could have asked.
“Oh please, we’re both involved in this, and we both know you are just as invested in this as I am.”
“Good point, besides I’ve been so bored recently, I could use some entertainment, so we partners?” I ask holding out my hand.
She looks me up and down before shaking my hand, “Partners.”

We walk to where we were attacked and where Rowan was supposedly murdered. I have my C.S.I. supplies with me. All of a sudden Tyler pulls us behind a tree and covers our mouths, I prepare to elbow him in the gut but I hear a dog barking and realize the Sheriff was walking around the area.
After he leaves we pull away and he apologizes.
“Thanks how’d you throw them off?” Wednesday asked him.
He then takes something out of his pocket.
“Coffee groans.”
“Deer hunting hack, one of the perks of being a part time barista.”
“Impressive.” I praise.
“I assume your father didn’t bring the blood hound to play fetch”
“Yeah, he doesn’t tell me shit, you must think it’s weird I’m stalking you.”
“No, I consistently stalk my parents.” She says before we walk off.
“Hey what really happened the other night at the festival? Look I swear I won’t say anything to my dad” He asks.
“We thought Rowan was in danger, turns out we were wrong, then he proceeded to use his telekinesis to try and choke us to death.” She says with no hint of emotion in her voice at all when talking about how we almost died.
“Oh shit, why would he do that.”
“No idea, that’s when the monster came out of the woods and gutted him.”
“Woah, woah so you really saw it, and it didn’t try to kill you.”
“It actually saved us from Rowan, that’s what we’re trying to figure out, we came out here to find something to prove Rowan was murdered and that we haven’t lost our minds, yet.”
Then we saw Rowan’s glasses in the grass and when she grabs them Wednesday has another vision.
“You okay?” Tyler asks.

We then head back to Nevermore, Wednesday said she saw a purple book in her vision, the same one she saw in a earlier vision. So we search the library for the same one but we struggle to find it.
“I don’t usually find students in here looking for actual books, they mostly come to make out.” Thornhill says greeting us.
“We accidentally walked in on two vampires fanging, I can’t unsee that.” Wednesday remarks,
“Is there anything I can help you find?” Thornhill asks.
Wednesday then holds up the watermark and asks her about it.
“I think it’s the symbol to an old student society, um, nightshades.”
“Like the deadly flower, color me intrigued.”
“I was told they disbanded years ago.” Thornhill tells us.
“Any idea why?” I ask
“Sorry.” Thornhill says shaking her head.
We then walk over to our bags when Thornhill and Wednesday begin talking about class and Wednesday’s mom, I start to tune it out sine it seems personal and kind of boring, I catch them talking about Thornhill being a normie and their beliefs in being acknowledged. Thornhill compliments Wednesday’s ability to not let anyone define her before walking off.

We sneak into Xavier and Rowan’s room to look for the book while Xavier is in the shower. We stumble upon a drawing Xavier made of Wednesday before finding a secret compartment under Rowans bed with a mask in it.
“Rowan’s seems to be full of surprises.”
We then hear a knock at the door and hide under Xavier’s bed before he walks out.
“You’re not supposed to be up here.” Xavier says.
“Good to see you too.” Bianca says
“How did you get pass the house master, use your siren powers?” He asked
“Would it kill you not to think the worst of me for once.”
“What do you want Bianca?”
“To see how you’re doing, I mean I’m sorry about Rowan, I know you guys used to be close.”
“Since when did you give a damn about Rowan.”
“You were the one worried he would do something to Wednesday, isn’t that why you follow her around like an eager eyed puppy? Or is there something more?” She asks him. “Seriously what do you see in her, you suddenly have a thing for tragic goth girls with a funeral parlor fashion sense?”
“Maybe it’s because she hasn’t tried to make me like her.”
“I made one mistake and you can’t forgive me, she treats you like crap and you can’t get enough, besides everyone knows that she’s always hanging out Y/N.”
“Okay why are you so fixated on Wednesday?”
“Because she thinks that she’s better than everyone else, I can’t wait to crush Ophelia hall tomorrow and watch her werewolf roommate crumble.” I’m sorry but anyone who has beef with Enid is a complete sociopath. “It’s gonna be a Poe Cup to remember.”
“Yeah I hate to think what you got cooked up.” Xavier says.
“My game’s already started, I like to win, is that so wrong?”
“And you wonder why I broke up with you.”
“You used to love my killer instinct, we were good together Xavier.”
“Really, or is that just what you wanted me to feel.”
“Trust me, Wednesday Addams is not the girl of your dreams, she’s the stuff of your nightmares.” Bianca warns him before leaving.
When Xavier goes back to shower we both leave his room with a look of disgust covering our face at the conversation we just had to listen to.

We part ways after that, Wednesday goes to Ophelia Hall and I head to my room.
It is now the day of the Poe Cup and everyone is down by the lake I go over to talk to Wednesday and Enid when I see what has to be the greatest thing ever, Wednesday Addams dressed in a cat costume. If I have to be honest, she looks really good in that costume but I’m trying not to stare.
“So you joined Enid’s team, love the outfit.” I say unable to hide my smile.
“Once this case is over I will gut you.” She warns me.
At this moment the twins walk over to me, “Y/N, we saved you a seat.” Then they notice Enid and Wednesday in their outfits and just start staring at them.
“Alright good luck you guys, crush Bianca.” I shout as I drag Jason and Jack back to our seats.
As Principal Weems starts announcing the race Amelia and Gwen sit down next to us.
“What happened to them?” Gwen asks when she notices Jack and Jason’s wide eyes.
“They saw my friends from Ophelia Hall in their costumes.” I inform her, as a member of Ophelia Hall and a good friend of Enid’s she knew that they were wearing cat costumes so she understood.
“So how did you react to seeing the new girl in her outfit?” Amelia said in a teasing tone.
“Why must people insist that I’m interested in Wednesday.” I complain.
“You didn’t answer my question.”
“I thought she looked fine.” I said going back to looking at the canoes.
“Yeah, sure you follow each other around all the time, everyone thinks you two are into each other.” Gwen chimes in.
“Yeah and they also think they’re both psychos.” Jack says finally snapping out of the trance he and Jason were in.
“Shut up.” Gwen said hitting him on the back of his head.
“You shut up.” He says, the two of them start shoving each other but before it could get good a teacher comes over and tells them to quit it.
“He’s just saying that everyone still thinks the two of you made it up about the monster killing Rowan.” Jason says defending Jack.
“Hey you said you guys believe us.”
“And we do, it’s just that a bunch of people saw Rowan walking around, you know, alive.” Amelia says.
“Come on, I wish Gojo still went here, he would help me out, he’s my favorite cousin.” I say.
“Hey!” Gwen says offended.
We keep making small talk until some of the canoes start coming back from the island in the lake, it’s Enid and Wednesday’s vs Bianca’s. When they’re almost back Wednesday sinks Bianca’s canoe and they win the Poe Cup, I could have done without everyone screaming in my ear but it was still nice to see Bianca put in her place. Everyone goes back to the quad to celebrate and get the Poe Cup handed off to the Black Cat team, Wednesday looked miserable. She started walking off to the Edgar Alan Poe statue and I went to follow.
“Going off with Wednesday huh? Going to celebrate her win?” Gwen says.
I ignore her and go over to her, Enid skips off from a conversation she and Wednesday were having, and we begin to talk.
“How did it feel to crush Bianca’s hopes and dreams.”
“Vindicating, it’s been a while since I’ve had a worthy adversary.”
“Did you just say something nice about Bianca.”
“It was respectful at best, anyway I need you to look at something with me.”
Weems came over to talk with Wednesday and Wednesday told me to leave, but not before slipping me a note that says to meet at the Poe statue later tonight.

We met later that night at the statue and Wednesday showed me that the same symbol of the Nightshades was on the bottom of the statue’s book. We looked at the poem on the statue and Wednesday wrote it down on her notebook, and realized what the code was, we had to take the first letter of each phrase and it would reveal how to do whatever it is we need to do. The code was SNAP TWICE.
We both turn, look at the statue and we snap twice.
The statue moves backwards unveiling a secret staircase which leads to a library.
We look around for a few minutes before Wednesday finds the book and shows me the second half of the drawing, it is of a pilgrim standing amongst the fire of Nevermore.
“Strange, what do you think it means?” I question.
“I don’t know but we have to find out, this is becoming bigger than just us.” She answers.
We turn to leave but before we can get out we get bags put over our heads get kidnapped.
