I photographed a really interesting story for today’s New York Times about a feud between a successful Oregon Winery and a new Pot Growing operation who moved in next door. Moe Momtazi and his family vineyard doesn’t want Richard Wagner’s Yamhill Naturals Cannibus next door. Both growers use organic biodynamic principles yet they can’t seem to coexist. The Wine/Weed drama plays out with phone threats and other twists like a western noir. Be sure to read Laura Holsons article today.

New work photographed for The New York Times featuring French Choreographer/Dancer Dorothée Munyaneza. Her new work “Unwanted “presents testimonies of Rwandan women who were raped and later had children during the genocide. Her interview was inspiring to see how she could take such terrible tragedy and turn it into a creative powerful performance helping the women speak out. She says in the interview "...I want to cut through the trauma so that people can receive and understand these experiences. The body speaks when testimony has been suspended"

Adidas Creative Director Paul Gaudio photographed for the October Issue of Monocle Magazine. I enjoyed hearing about the direction Paul has taken the company. He truly has a unique vision and has helped make Adidas a go to brand among so many diverse groups. He knows and appreciated the history of the sports brand and realizes the value of unique collaborations and entering into a higher fashion tier with certain products. He also gave me a look into the future of using technology like 3D Printing with footwear.

New work photographed for the September issue of Southwest Airlines In Flight Magazine (and my cheesy mug featured in the contributors). I had the amazing opportunity to take the Chinese Historical Society's annual backpacking pilgrimage to Sing Peak. The 10,550 ft peak was named after Tie Sing. He was an incredible Chinese chef who cooked now legendary camp dinners deep within Yosemite/Sequoia using pack mules for influential groups of lawmakers and wealthy businessmen who could help unify the park service and save these special lands before they were lost to development and overgrazing. Big thanks to Desire Emespada for the assignment and Dane Pollok for being down to assist/climb a mountain with me.

I photographed world renowned landscape architect Kathryn Gustafson for the September issue of Monocle Magazine. She has designed award winning work all over the world including the Princess Diana memorial in Hyde Park. I really enjoyed seeing her hand formed clay models which is still part of her daily process. She was such an inspiring subject! We talked about her eastern Washington childhood roots as well as her college years in Paris. I look forward to seeing more of her work in the future and hopefully collaborating with her firm at some point.

Photographing Mighty AI CEO Matt Bencke this past week for @wired was one of the toughest assignments I have ever had. His first person story is online now here. He tells his tragic story of recently finding out he has late stage terminal pancreatic cancer and how he has been living out his life not in fear of knowing its hanging on by a thread. He was beyond welcoming and positive during our brief time together. I dont know if I could be so strong in the same position. My thoughts go out to his family during this very tough time. Thanks to Maria Lokke for such an important assignment.

New work out in the June Issue of @condenasttraveler I photographed a feature at Stout's Island Lodge in rural Wisconsin The historic property dates back to the late 1800's and had all the rustic summer vibe you could imagine.  Vintage Croquet, Handmade Canoes, Scotch by the roaring fireplace and plenty of midwestern hospitality.
