With the addition of this lad, I’m feeling confident. I have several recipes for painting their flesh/organs now and it’s making them better as I won’t have just one color run strong for them.
Tumblr media
Btw:
base coat the area with Bugmans Glow
Wash with Druchii violet
Highlight with Rakarth Flesh
And a selective was of reikland Fleshshade over the highlights.
Love it.

It’s me again. And I’ve got some fun news. I’ve resurrected my original Custom Chapter scheme with the release of Leviathan. I wasn’t sure what I was gonna do with them at first. I usually make all my models space wolves or divy them into my “for sale” pile to help fund my studio but I want getting any strong vibes from the space marine half of the box.
However, the tyranid half has been going into expanding my fathers tyranid army. Hive fleet Rhamnusia. And I thought, with his original concept getting love, why shouldn’t I do so?
I had abandon my army in 2018 for a full space wolf legion. And two years before that I had changed the armour design. Still, all wolfified. But, I never felt the primaris marines really fit the space wolf vibe. So most of them waited patiently for me to decide how I’d go about adding them into my space wolf army. And a few did. But many received no such love.
So with Pops nids getting love, I revived my original army. The Angry Dragons. And returned to their original scheme, eating up all the ignored primaris marines and building a fully fledged primaris army. Pulling most of the units from leviathan, Shadowspear, indomitus, Dark Imperium and wrath of the soulforge. My dragons have returns stronger than ever before.
With this new development, my dragons will sport no firstborn. My wolves will take them all for themselves. And I’ll just run both chapters uniquely. It’s nice because I don’t have to really customize the bits to fit the chapter as much. I can take the models at face value and add my colors.
And should the inevitable phasing out of firstborn ever happen, I still have a full functioning army and a super sexy firstborn Space Wolf army to reminisce about.

Try this on for size. Wrapping up one of my most favorite finds from @wargameexclusive . It’s a flying Squig!! (It’s all I can see.) I’m not entirely sure why I picked purple armour, but once I did there was no turning back and I had to give him his super silent and sneaky jet pack so he could assassinate with his squighammer.

I’ve also completed another model form Reaper Miniatures. Now that I’ve learned I prefer the metal models over the rest, I’ve been buying exclusively those and find them better to paint.
She also happened to win me 3rd place in a local painting competition. Pretty cool for such a simple design.

I’m not ignoring Tumblr! I promise! It’s just grown to be my second least used social media. (DeviantArt being my least favorite)
I’ve still been painting, working on some wolves for my greatest army. It’s got me working on 20 more now. I also wanted to do a termy or 2 with GW phasing out the older bois. A dreadnought to come sooner or later for the same reason. I hate to see em go but they’ll always have a place in my army.

Cranking out another plague marine for sqaud 2. Oficcaily having painted 17 of these boys.
Breaking the directions rules and putting the arms and backpack on the wrong body. I’ve orcastrated a fairly proper Nurgle boy. If I had some glossy clear coat to shine up the green container, he’d be perfect.

It’s gonna be a bit low rez as the customer took the photos. But the whole necron army was completed and shipped off to be with its owner!
Prolly the biggest most stress inducing commission I’ve done to date. Even more than the greater Deamons.
It’s off because I’ve been kinda lost without the self hatred of needing to finish this project. The drives a bit dead and I have a severe lack of motivation to paint now. I’m sure there’s a good reason besides that as to why, I’m depressed so who knows. But it is what it is.

It seems like an addiction painting anything Nurgle. One space wolf and I need a break, but these plague marines, I just don’t own enough. Maybe the defiler or blight haulers will change my mind.
With the plague gods army growing and placed as the studios permanent second army, I invested in @thearmypainter necrotic flesh spray paint. It’s slightly brighter, but works amazing and speeds up the process a ton. Now if I could just get a spray that only does highlights… squad 2 of plague marines reaches 6 with the recent addition of a champion. As always, more to come.

Hero’s have no place within the blighted realm of House Helmawr; The land of poisoning their bodies, the steel skies breaking their will. And yet the human spirit endured. Tormented and twisted, it has survived, and even thrived. Amongst the iron weeds of the ash-cursed planet. Men and Women, crushed beneath the feudal weight of the Imperium, their faces pushed into the dust, nonetheless can find the faint embers of their courage. They are the dregs of ancient bloodlines, the memory of great deeds hidden within their flesh, gifted to the across a thousand, thousand generations, from the forgotten origins of the world. The woman-warriors of Clan Esher are the inheritors of such genetic blessings, their long lost gene-mothers granting them a birthright stronger than the imperial chains locked around their throats. The True Necromundans are the Esher; descended from Queens, tempered by millennia, and sharpened to a Razor’s Edge, like the Blades their House is named for.

Straying for the classic yellow, I landed on a blue. Wild I know! 😂 but it seems to be my favorite color. There’s still so much I need to learn about skins and leathers that, in even a years time, I’ll probably hate how it looks. But for now! My unnamed Escher gang has a color scheme!

Finally getting around to painting a fella from Reptilian Overlords SpaceNam soldiers and I gotta say, these guys are pretty awesome. Besides his camo being mediocre and somthing I’ll not be repeating. I think this guy, and the many others I got, will fit in well with my Catachan. And the last picture shows scale and how perfect these boys are for expanding your catachan force. Or building a new jungley boi army for whatever reason.

Along with that, I’ve also painted up my first forgefiend. And let’s get it out of the way now, I know he can have 3 cannons. I prefer this head option. I really don’t like the look of the cannon face. Regardless of strength.
Alright. This was a fun and kinda, revolutionary approach to my army. Devout followers and worshipers of Nurgle, everyone been painted green. I did a bone color model once and it didn’t land with me, preferring the green. But this guy was different. I always see all heavy weapons as a iron warrior specialty, and being a warband, not legion, i kinda get free reign on where I “get” my soldiers and artillery. Be it a gift, trade or theft, I can recruit from anywhere.
But with this big boi, I had an idea, he’s a resurrected warmachine from a forgotten battlefield. The shell forged from the dirt he once fell, a new deamon slave stuffed in him and made to carry out my warlords wishes on the battlefield. The years his hull was left to rust and slowly grow moss, never polished cause that’s too much work and would reverse the lovely decay Nurgle so pushes for, the armour was hardly repaired, but rather embraced as blessed by Nurgle. With the trim being green (repainted?) to fit thematically with the army. His basing is far more extravagant that the rest of the army so I’ll have to see how they all look together in time. But for now, the armour ties them all together at least.

I started a project that can’t be rushed. My Nurgle chosen. The first three fell together like gifts from papa Nurgle himself. They were meant to be. First model being the chosen champion. Who simply just took a power first from the deathguard. Probably my least favorite but still cool.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Number 2 is the brainchild and best of my creations. A truely badass mofo. The combination of the pose from the chosen kit and the giant axe from the deathguard kit created one of my most favorite poses I’ve ever seen. It makes me wish I had put more thought into the champion. Which is why I can’t rush this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Number 3 here carries the badassery to glory with the build. Utilizing pieces from both the blightlord kit and the plague marine kit to build a giant flail of corruption for my boy to smash with. Truely possessing the gifts of Nurgle.
With extra icons and bits included all over the 2 non champions, they really carry what I originally expected when I started my warband in 2016. The champions cool and I’ll use him and keep him as is, but In comparison to the other 2, he just doesn’t hold up. Which is why this squad can’t be rushed, I need the right bits and poses for the squad to be perfect. I want dominate characters with big plague weapons. And to do this, I have to wait and play it slow. It’s not like I don’t have lots more to do while I wait.
My warband has changed a ton over the last 6 years, and the release of the deathguard as a whole army definitely changed directions. But a lot of people just assume I’m a deathguard player. And while I do have a heavy presence of their models now, I’m still true to my original cause. I run a chaos warband dedicated to Nurgle. I’d live for its glories and losses to inspire me to write a book on it all eventually. I want my warband to be lord damnit. I guess step one is naming it and the warlord.
And a FYI for what i have chaos-deathguard ratio. I have:
40 marines
2 chaos lords
10 chosen
2 obliterators
1 venomcrawler
8 chaos terminators
2 hellbrutes
1 chaos space marine deamon prince
2 predator tanks
30 cultists
5 chaos bikers
1 master of posession
15 havocs
2 greater possessed
15 possessed
2 forgefiends
Where as for deathguard I have:
1 lord of contagion
1 plague caster
1 plague burst crawler
6 myphitic Blight-haulers
1 bloat drone
29 plague marines
5 blightlord terminators
3 deathshroud
30 poxwalkers
1 noxious blightbringer
Well that’s all for now. Thanks for listening. Any questions, then leave a comment, I can respond but it will be with my main blog since it won’t let my studio blog be its own entity. XD

Finally back with my first Rotten Factory model complete. I also used it as a test for a bunch of my Army Painter products. The metallics, washes, even the polyurethane dipping shade they make. Something I need more practice with. Back to the model. He’s pretty amazing. Idk if even how I painted him does him justice. But I love how he came out. I just saw how he’d be before I even painted him. His detail is so crispy. If anyones interested in more of their other products, check out the link below

It’s been a slight struggle getting the lighting and background in the new studio to work with me. This will be fine for now.
I don’t have an overhead light where my desk is, just my lamps I use for painting so getting the right lighting is a bit of a hassle rn. I’ll work on it.
Anyways! Here’s my first (technically 5th from other projects) Horus Heresy Marine. And First Salamander complete. Trying to lean towards a less used Legion in the game. And I had the transfers already from a long abandon project. So it worked out and I learned how to paint their black/grey skin too so now I have that available in my arsenal. I bought 2 Age of Darkness boxes so lots more to come.

Apparently I have to fix my app connections so it goes on the right blog but hey! I finished a model.
Tumblr media
It’s been a lil bit. Life’s been hepatic. Working extra shifts at work to help with kindergarten,6th grade and high school graduations, and working on a new studio location, I’ve had very little time to paint. But! Summers kicking off and stability seems promising. I might be able to get some more done soon. Here I finally finished the backpack and basing on my second bike revival. The camera doesn’t do his highlights justice but he looks so good. Glad to see the second expansion one model closer to completion. #warhammer #warhammer40k #40k #painting #models #model #miniature #miniatures #eavymetal #syfy #primaris #wolfspear #warhammercommunity #spacewolf #spacewolves #wolfguard #warmongers #wargaming #tabletop #paintingwarhammer #paintingwarhammer40k #paintingminiatures #paintingmodels #painting28mmminiatures #spacemarine #spacemarinecaptain #gamesworkshop40k #tabletopgaming #gamesworkshop #28mmminiatures (at Painted Post, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/CfS1EV-Omot/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
