As a somewhat well known halsey stan, i knew that this project would be very meaningful to me. So hearing the album wad extremely ethereal and surreal. I actually started crying during the opener 'Only Living Girl In LA' so this project was just a crying marathon.

I actually love every single song on this project, which isn't that unusual to me as music kinda always clings to me in some way, but some songs absolutely crushed me.

'Letter To God (1974)' has some of the most depressing lyrical content I've ever listened to and even now i struggle to not cry while thinking of this interlude. This track did not have to be so poignant, Ashley.

'Panic Attack' and 'Hometown' betrayed me, when I've heard their snippets in the trailer, I thought those would be somewhat happy songs, but nope. Both are extremely tragic.

'I Believe In Magic' is probably the equivalent of the most perfect bittersweet depressing sad song. Halsey literally decided to completely destroy my nerve system with the topics in the song. 'Darling' and 'More' now seem like cakewalks compared to this.

'Letter To God (1998)' is so heartbreaking too and the sample of Ender's voice in both this track and 'I Believe In Magic' ? I am about to throw up.

'The Great Impersonator' is probably one of the best title tracks I've ever heard - it's just too relatable for me and the song being the somewhat 'satirical sounding' end of a discography and an artist is just impossible for me to handle.

I would write more but i am too tired for me.

Ngl i wonder what the fifth time period is.

We know that 'I Believe In Magic' is inspired by Linda Ronstadt, who is an icon of the 60s.

So is this the 60s era? I kinda doubt it, as it would have been labelled as one, I don't see the 60s somehow being more significant than the other eras.

I am guessing the fifth time period is every other decade that isn't 70s-y2k!. Which means that we are gonna get a 60s, 2010s, 2020s and maybe a 50s song?

Happy birthday @tiredandlonelymuse !! You are such an icon who has made some of the best music that I've ever heard, it has completely changed so many lives and got so many people through their hard times, including me.

You've contributed so much to speaking up for women and the LGBTQIA+, spread awareness about topics that should be discussed nowadays, such as mental health, mistreatment towards minorities, gender identity & more.

And although I don't know you personally, I really hope you know that you're one of the strongest and kindest people in the whole world. You have been struggling with a lot of health issues, yet you are still releasing music and even performing and that inspires me so much to keep going with my life instead of giving it up.

Please never forget that you've already become a best-selling artist with 5 diamond-certified albums & a best-selling poetry book to millions of people who will never forget you and your art.

Did you guys know that I have over 28 SINGLES that are platinum or multi platinum? I have 2 that are diamond. All this is the US alone. I’m also one of the only artists in history to *replace themselves* (!!!) at #1 on the radio.

But. Did you know my most critically acclaimed album was also my worst selling? My only Grammy nominated album is the one without a single hit?

Listen, album time is coming and I see a lot of people nostalgic for the before-times for varying (and opposing) reasons and I just want to say: They won’t all be Manic. They won’t all be If I Can’t Have Love I Want Power. They won’t be Badlands because it won’t be the first time again, and they won’t be HFK because they all have to be different. They are all something new. They all become something unique.

If I wrote music, recorded it, and you listen to it? Then I’ve done what I’ve come here to do. The zeitgeist is fickle. And I just have to do the same thing every time. Write it, record it, release it. How it’s received and how it performs isn’t up to me. It’s not even up to you. (Well it’s a little bit up to you) but mostly it’s up to something entirely cosmic that I co-exist with. I am places I never dreamed I would be.

I can’t wait to see what (or who) The Great Impersonator will become.
