Doof's Alimony...

Y'know, I've always wondered why Charlene gives so much alimony money to Doof.

I mean, she doesn't seem to harbor hard feelings towards him (or vice versa) and seems to just endlessly throw money at him even for stupid things (like gargoyle investment and then saving his building from his own finacial misuse).

BUT! I'm actually beginning to think that maybe when they were married that Doof invented something for her. Like maybe some device or inator (of course an inator, what am I thinking?) that she has been able to use to get ahead in her career field, or some gimmicky thing that made it so she gets an insane amount of royalties from something.

I can totally see Doof making some invention for her that generates income in some way, but since he's Doof he doesn't do anything like that for himself. But for her? No problem.

So, because of this, she doesn't mind sending him so much alimony BECAUSE he did something like this that makes her able to do so. But that's just my theory :3

I'mma be thinkin'...

I've been putting a lot of work into the next two chapters of Cravings, and I'm beyond stoked to have it publish soon. ("Soon" means soon this time, I hope.) I think I'm especially excited for it because it's a much different set of scenes than what has been presented so far. It dives more into Peach's side of things and how she reacts to some revelations.

If you've ever seen Kevin Can **** Himself, then these next two chapters kinda feel like the perspective-change motif that the show specializes in. (I highly recommend it btw!)

BUT not only is this an update, but also a prompt for y'all. I had a moment in the fic where I was like how the heck does time work anyway in this world? There's many different theories, but this one is mine:

I like to think that the Mushroom Kingdom world (or that universe, depending on what you hc) moves at a different rate of time than the “real world” does. Like it could just be cartoony game-logic where no one ages and stuff OR (☝️) it’s due to a difference in the passage of time that makes the main cast perpetually mid-twenties. It can explain how Mario has done all of his adventures/spin-offs that are up to date and still be his same relative age (but this is also from my pov that all the Mario games are canon/chronological to some big or small degree. For instance, I like to think that the Mario Party games are actually game shows that they all play and use CGI and movie-magic to make the “mini games” more exciting for the audience, like when celebrities do stupid skits or games with late night talk show hosts ha ha).

Or perhaps it's a bit of the Ash Ketchum effect idk. Or maybe how 1-ups and super mushrooms work in how it repairs/rejuvenates the body from aging past a perceived point.
