Sometimes you don’t start your day until 2pm. Sometimes you have to put on a pair of jeans and a nice shirt instead of sweatpants in order to feel good about yourself. Sometimes it’s really fucking hard to get up and take a shower or brush your teeth. Sometimes it’s really fucking hard to take care of yourself and it’s okay. That is okay. Simple things aren’t always easy and simple things being hard doesn’t make you weak, you are doing the best you can and some days there are things you just can’t do and that’s okay. You are healing. You are trying. Do what you need to do to feel good.

I usually don’t add stuff to posts, but this is important. I’m a child of two high school teachers. I’ve heard it all. Teachers are treated like shit and like they don’t do anything. But, teachers are the most hard working people I’ve ever seen. My parents will stay at work for hours after the students have gone home. My parents will bring work home and do it late into the night. Do they get paid for that? No. Most teachers don’t get paid for overtime because they’re expected to do overtime without pay as part of their jobs. A family friend of mine works at my school and he’s been a teacher for almost 8 years now. He still gets paid like a beginning teacher. It’s ridiculous that teachers have to fight for a better pay for their hard work. Teachers absolutely should get paid more.
