I adore discovering new things about a series even long after I've watched it. I was capping Xiao Lanhua's badass breakout moment, when she first reveals her powers protecting Dongfang Qingcang from the evil qi, when I noticed something.

For a few moments, you see something interesting.

Who is that faded in the background?

I can't imagine that's anyone but her parents! And they have their arms out forward, as if they're lending their power to Xiao Lanhua as well.

Mama and Papa Xiyun don't really get any focus in the series, outside of their moment of sacrifice in sealing Xiyun away, so it's touching to see they are still watching over her.

You could also see this as implied approval from the Xilan tribe of Dongfang Qingcang being in their goddess's life. It is after all, him, not her that's in great danger from the evil qi. Her powers flared to life to protect him.

Consider then, that her full powers activated not from her wedding with Changheng, as was supposed to be the case (they didn't even finish the wedding, but I digress), but once again, from committing a great act of love to save Dongfang Qingcang. Dongfang Qingcang and Xiao Lanhua were not fated, but you could argue that whatever remains to watch over the goddess, approves of her choices and wants to protect them.
