“Walter says Wilhelm is gay,” Henry commented. 

“I fucking knew. With all the rings he wears,” came from Vincent. 

Simon frowned. “What’s that supposed to mean?” 

“Haven’t you seen? He’s all-” Vincent paused the guitar playing to make a gesture with his hand, clearly conveying more than one point: He thought it was okay to make fun of gay people, and he thought it was okay to make assumptions about people’s sexuality. 

If Simon wasn’t deadly scared to give too much away about himself, maybe he would have tried arguing. The best he managed now was: “Wearing rings has nothing to do with his sexuality.”

🌲🫎Sunday Snippet🫎🌲

There is this popular slow-tv in Sweden called The Great Moose Migration, where a bunch of cameras are set up out in the forrest, monitoring the moose for a couple of weeks as they migrate north for the summer. The live feed is broadcasted 24/7 both on television and online without commentary. What if 2029 Crown Prince Wilhelm of Sweden was invited as a guest expert, participating in the studio every day to discuss the highlights of the footage from the last 24 hours? What if Simon -terrified of bears- Eriksson moved from Bjärstad at 15, became a producer, and then in 2029 in charge of both the live feed and what's supposed to be happening in the studio? And what if they fall for each other immediately? What would happen then?

(en förhoppningsvis inte allt för lång on-shot, cirka 4000 ord är skrivna än så länge... och jo, jag tänkte att jag skulle försöka skriva något på svenska för att se hur det är)

Simon höll upp dörren samtidigt som han fortsatte, “jag hoppas verkligen att resten av teamet inte beter sig som att han är värd mer än de andra som kommer, att få fördelar bara för vilken familj man är född i och hela livet få oförtjänta fördelar och statsbidrag på grund av det—” Kronprins Wilhelm stod vid änden av konferensbordet, iklädd en irriterande välsittande kostym och utan tillstymmelse av hårlockar. Men med ett halvleende som försvann lika fort som Simon tystnade vid anblicken av det.  Prinsen tog ett steg framåt och sträckte ut sin hand. Simon greppade den samtidigt som han på något vis lyckades krysta ut sitt namn. Åh gud. Hans hud var sammetslen. “Hej. Wilhelm. Jag skulle uppskatta om jag inte kallades för Kronprinsen när kamerorna är avstängda. Men när de är på, så... behövs det... för statsbidragens skull.” Och var det där en blinkning? Flörtade han? Stefan skulle så döda honom om han fumlade det här bara för att Kronprinsen hade ögon som såg ut att fyllas av något varmt medan hans vänster hand smekte Simons handrygg.

An enemies-to-lovers Music Camp fic with fuckyou-energy and a lot of unfortunate situations

“You can save your explanations about why you two don’t like each other. The situation is this: We do not have any spare rooms, and since you are both taking the ‘songwriting’-course, you’ll be spending a lot of time together.”

Simon opened his mouth to protest, but Boris held out a hand, silently asking him to not interrupt. “I don’t think you have given each other a fair chance. So I have printed out some questions-“ he dug into a drawer in his desk, searching through some papers before finding the right ones. “I want you to answer these questions about each other and then hand them in to me on Sunday. Understood?”

The struggle of wanting to write an enemies-to-lovers fic with fuckyou energy, while also wanting the characters to be the sweetest sweethearts, so essentially their whole relationship ends up being based on misunderstandings (Which is also a bit eehhh, because those two are, like, the best communicators in the world). You know what I'm saying?

I don’t really like fluff… or I guess I like angst (or TENSION really) with a tad bit of fluff to balance it out. Boris’ Books is PERFECT and it has the PERFECT amount of fluff, but it’s well earned and feels even better after all the harder stuff! Omg they love each other so mucccccccchhhhhhh and it feels real and that’s way better than fluff for fluff’s sake. Anyway just here to let you know there are plenty of us out there who are also kinda allergic to fluff and adore your writing.

Welcome to the allergic-to-fluff fellowship!!!! 🥳🥳 But honestly, this means A LOT to me. I know there are a lot of different preferences out there, so I guess it makes sense that my fluff-writing isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

I agree with the part about fluff sometimes appearing only for fluff’s sake. I think every scene has to serve a “purpose” (like, change their dynamic in some way or have something “at stake”). And often - to me - I feel like the fluff starts feeling superficial if it has no purpose.

Personally, I often skip the last 1-2 chapters of good fics, because the authors use them to heavily fluff-write. Maybe it’s just me…

Right now only YR (My sweet Wilmon <3). I started my fanfic career with 1D Louis/Harry, then later moved on to Malec from shadowhunters.

Boris' Books (Bookstore AU) My longest fic, and defintely the fic I've enjoyed writing the most. I've also loved seeing people's reactions. Some comments have been incredibly reflective and philosophical, you guys are absolutely amazing!!! I hope you know that!!! The other ones are all about Malec

I do! Mostly. But it takes time for me, which I'm trying to be better at. But seriously, I LOVE EVERY COMMENT

No doubt about it Boris' Books. BUT I do think I ended it a lot less angsty than I could have. (I didn't even realize when I wrote it that it was angsty, but then people were crying in the comments. It surprised me a bit)

Probably Purple and Pining because it's just 26k words of banter, smut and fluff

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I accidentally saw that someone on X asked (in relation to Boris' Books) if I was allergic to writing fluff. AND IT STUCK WITH ME, SORRY FOR NOT GIVING YOU GUYS ALL THE FUCKING FLUFF YOU DESERVE. (But Almostlake has been trying to calm me down in our tumblr-convo and tell me nice words about my fluff-writing, so thank you <3 <3 <3) Also, I have gotten some on my earlier work. (The police man AU fic had a whole ass Team!Magnus / Team!Alec thread in the comments. People did NOT like how rough Alec was with Magnus. But then people were defending me in the comments as well, so all good)

Yes!! Very much yes, lots of it all the time

I'd say being true to my characters. (Not suddenly changing their goals / fears to make it fit the narrative)

I'm not afraid to change the plot in the middle of writing the chapter if it doesn't feel "right". (With Boris' Books, their first kiss was originally meant to happen on the couch-scene in Bjärstad, but then it didn't feel right. I didn't want Simon to be a cheater when it all came down to it. Also, Simon was meant to kiss Wille, but that also didn't feel right)

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

Apparently I'm allergic to writing fluff

17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I love it, especially in YR-fandom, because I understand Swedish. Guess I wouldn't like it as much if I didn't understand Swedish....

I wrote reader/Niall Horan fics in 2011 when I was 12

19. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Boris' books Bookstore Wilmon AU. Definitely the most emotional work I've ever done. I'm satisfied with how it turned out.

In my veins My med-students AU Malec fic. It gives me flashbacks to when I took this course in med-school, and I love the enemies-to-lovers I managed to build up in this story.

Purple and Pining Tumblr AU Wilmon. It's the funniest shit I've ever written!! And also, I loved writing this because most of it is real quotes that Almostlake said in out tumblr-convo. THE SEXTOY THING??? THE FACE REVEAL??? Yeah, it all happened

Simon blinked at the screen. What? His eyes shot down the hallway again, his cheeks already a shade darker than they had been before. No, this wasn’t happening. He was not strong enough to be here, while Wille was somewhere in this fucking building with a buttplug up his ass.

If Simon wasn’t careful, this was going to be the thing that made him cave. Because, fuck, he wanted to ask Wille where he was, go find him and take him to some stupid study cell and do… do something about this.

CpAugust4ever: You definitely have a dick. There’s no fucking way you can write smut like that with a vagina between your legs.

When he had dropped his tumblr account at the end of his latest AO3-fic, this wasn’t exactly what he had been expecting. Sure, the Young Royals fandom was pretty big, so it wasn’t so weird that he got some kind of response. But this?

(OR: Simon writes smut online, and Wille is his number one fan. Basically a whole fic where Wille tries to win over Simon)

Sneak peak

A little sneak peak from the next chapter of Boris' Books.

Victor came into the room wearing only his underwear. “Oh, hey Buddy,” he said. “How did the concert go?” “Awful,” Wilhelm sulked.  “Oh? Poor Simon, he was looking so much forward to it.” Victor pulled a carton of milk out of the fridge and began drinking from it.  With a sigh, Wilhelm corrected: “The singing part went really well, but I think I did something stupid.” “Okay?” Victor’s expectant gaze was the last thing he needed.  “I really don’t want to explain everything right now, but I might have accidentally ruined this whole thing with me and Simon,” Wilhelm said. Then, a bit more desperately, he added: “Or, I don’t know. I have no idea what he’s thinking, if there was even anything to ruin in the first place. Maybe me and Simon were never going to happen, anyway. Maybe it has only ever been in my head that we both felt this way. Maybe I’ve just been-” With his hands raised, Victor said: “Jeez, Wille, go talk to him. All of this rambling is not going to give you any answers, is it?” The words were so true that they effectively shut Wilhelm up.

Wilhelm had to steady himself with an arm against the wall. “I’m fine. You can just stay here and have fun.”

“First of all, you look like you could use a bit of help,” Simon said, smiling shyly. “And secondly…” He glanced over his shoulder, finding that no one was looking at them, and then he went closer, dropping his voice to a whisper as he said: “I don’t want to be here without you.”

At that, Wilhelm couldn’t help an amused snort. The fact that he was drunk and that Simon was about to come with him back to his apartment should have maybe alerted the bells inside of his head. Yet said bells were overpowered by the way Simon now reached out for him as he swayed to the side. “Okay,” he mumbled.
