So Neverafter is heading to a crescendo and it has given me an idea on how two of its characters are about to collide, specifically Prince Gerard and Princess Elody. If you don't want to be spoiled, I'll put this under the cut. This is a thought after episode 15 "Leap of Faith"

Once the gang realized the Princesses' desire to destroy the Neverafter, Gerard unsuccessfully tried to convince Elody of this. After the escape from the Snow Queen's castle, Elody is left behind with Snow White and the other Princesses and will most certainly be convinced that destroying the world is the best option. After all, Gerard didn't have a good track record post froggening of being attentive to Elody and left her to bear the burden of ruling and fighting alone while he hid in the castle basement. But then Elody finds Gerard's dead body after the fight against the Fairy Godmother. She is broken and then the Princesses reunite her with Gerard but this is a different person than one she knew. This Gerard also leaves her to be manipulated by Snow White.

So when Elody and Gerard meet just before the final battle, they will have one more conversation before they clash, sword drawn and mace held high

Elody: I've realized that I'm not really a person, Gerard. I don't have a story like the other Princesses. I'm just a prize, your reward for your redemption.

Gerard: I never believed that. The story may have been named after me what I am but not what we had.

Elody: Gerard, thank you for being there for me when I was young. Even if it was destiny that we met and fell in love, the fact that you helped me will never be forgotten. But for the sake of being something other than a trophy, I will kill you. Goodbye.

They fight and Gerard wins but Elody begins to die in his arms. Gerard starts crying but Elody weakly wipes his tears away.

Elody: You don't have to cry. I made a choice in defiance of destiny. And I'm happy. I've come to despise destiny. Did I even had a choice? Were we fated to fall in love? Did it even mean anything?

Gerard: I don't know if it was destiny or the plan from the beginning that we fell in love. But what I do know is that you are the best part of my story by far.

Elody: That means a lot. Thank you.
