As a result of being paralyzed, Barbara Gordon is confined to a wheelchair and is unable to perform her regular activities. Upon entering the facility, she faces several issues, including dealing with other disabled children. Due to her new situation and having a hard time leaving her friends and school, they are trying to make her feel better. After one of her friends disappeared, Barbara became worried about how the facility treated their patients. In order to help other patients, she searches for clues to understand how the facility treats them. Although the artwork in the book was excellent, I felt the story did not adequately portray how to help people who are disabled to become more empowered and confident. ✨ Book Review ✨ 🌺 Crying In H Mart by Michelle Zauner 🌺 For me the title speaks a thousand words, I always felt the sense of remembering the times spent with my mother in supermarkets, and sometimes when I shop alone, I always feel a bit of sadness of not having my mother beside me. Every time I thought about it, I cried. I didn't know the memoir was going to be so painful. It speaks to you about losing someone as dear to you as your parents. Their struggle to keep you happy and satisfied throughout your life is the reason for this. During her childhood, Michelle Zauner experienced a different childhood than other American children. she shares her mother's love of food. As it was the only thing her parents really loved, she also talks about how happy she was to have that experience. It was their intention to teach her the same thing, likewise how she loved her mother's life. It was like growing up in South Korea. Also, she is able to relate to their culture and language when she visits them occasionally. Michelle Zauner struggles with her mother's cancer. Admitting she was no longer in life made her understand herself even more. She handled the grief in a more mature way, as well as getting closer to her father. She made sure she worked through all the things her mother left behind. My favorite memoir of this year has been this one and I can't explain how much I cried and related to the beautiful moments I spent in supermarkets with my mother, as well as her commitment to maintaining a healthy diet. Even today, whenever I speak to her, she always asks me what I ate and what I am cooking for dinner as the first thing she asks me. Mom (Habiba), I love you so much! ........................... 𝒲𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝐵𝓎 𝒲𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝒮𝓂𝒾𝓉𝒽 & 𝑀𝒶𝓇𝓀 𝑀𝒶𝓈𝑜𝓃 𝑅𝑒𝓋𝒾𝑒𝓌: Where should I even start with this book, it's so cool that I finally get to read book about my favorite actor, and I was always curious about will smith's life since a kid, because he's acting always made me cry, laugh, heartbroken, motivated, and most of all inspired. there’s nothing that will smith hasn’t done for me to love who I am and be proud of where I come from. The book mostly focuses on he’s life growing up in west philly and being great at school. also being super talented in acting, comedy and rapping. It also talks about how he’s relationship was with everyone growing up and how he’s parents influenced him to be more successful person. He’s marriage and having he’s first child is also a very emotional moment. After taking advice and going on a spiritual journey to cope with his success and personal life, he is traveling around the world and practicing meditation, focusing not on his career but his personal well-being and strengthening his relationship with his family and friends. This book is a therapy and self-reflection for anyone who wants to learn why failing is important in life and how we can always overcome difficulties no matter how hard our current situation might be. ✨ Good Talk by Mira Jacob✨ 'Good Talk' is about a second-generation Indian American who tries to have an open conversation with everyone close to her, regardless of how difficult it is. The Author navigates her son ‘Z’ with news and politics that he hears and also talks other real world issues such as racism, color, and sexism, during that process she talks about how her life was growing up in the states and pursuit of becoming a writer. “Here is the thing, though, the real, true thing I still have trouble admitting: I can't protect you from everything...I can't protect you from spending a lifetime caught between the beautiful dream of a diverse nation and the complicated reality of one. I can't even protect you from the simple fact that sometimes, the people who love us will choose a world that doesn't.” I found this graphic novel to be one of my favorites, because is not a story that is superhero or fiction-based, but about a personal struggle of a minority in USA and is written by an Indian American female author.
