You don't have to do this
"You don't have to do this, you know?" The hero murmurs.
The villain looks up at them and rolls their eyes. This is something they hear time and time again, how they can be better, be a hero, be good.
"Spare me the monolog. You're just gonna say what everyone else does.." they spit
"Im not"
"Humor me then"
"You don't need to be good or bad. What ever happened to just... being..?"
At that, the villain pauses. It's certainly a question they've asked themselves before, when in their most vulnerable state, the question that always lingers in the back of their mind, a question that haunts them even when they close their eyes.
"Excuse me?" They question, uncomfortable and tense. The air changes, even on a rooftop they can feel it. They both understand that this is a conversation that can truly change the relationship with one another. They feel the tension and Villian waits for the hero to make their point.
"Heros and Villain's are separated by morals, morals that are thinly different. It doesn't take much for a hero to become a villain, but no one will ever notice because if people say that you're good, you will always be good. So why even be? Why be a villain?" The hero questions, the words rolling off their tongue like second nature, like they've asked this before. The Villian briefly wonders if maybe they have.
"Why be a normal civilan?" The Villian counters, tone genuine but cautious.
"Why even be anything.." the Hero says, it's a statement too.. not a question. For a moment the Villian falters. Why even be anything... the question lingers in the air.
"Why not?" The Villain says. They pause for a moment at their own answer. Wasn't Hero supposed to be the one saying that? Villain is supposed to monolog on their self-deprecation, but Hero is taking that spot.
"You chose to be a villain. You weren't forced into it. You went into it willingly in hopes for a better outcome from the life you used to live. There isn't much that makes you and I so different. You don't need to do this, but you choose to." The Hero states, they read Villian like an open book.
"How are we similar then, hm? What makes us so alike?"
"What doesnt."
"Anwser me, Hero"
"My parents are dead too. I have no family, I grew up poor, I grew up in a shitty, abusive home, and if people took time to listen to your monologs, they would know that you did too." The Hero states bluntly, as if this is a daily routine for them. They act like they do this constantly.
"You tryna' make me a hero?"
"Gods no," the hero snorts "im not trying to make you anything. There is nothing that makes us different. You use weapons, we do too, you monolog, we do too, you're in your field because of your childhood, and we are too."
"Why are you telling me this..?"
The Hero doesn't awnser. It looks like they're deep in thought, pondering. Weighing options and finding the right words to explain it. While the Hero thinks the villain does too. There's no point in this conversation. It's not going anywhere, and to the villain, it's not proving anything.
It's quiet for a long moment before the Hero talks again. "You don't have to do this. You're not gonna get anywhere or achieve anything in your field if you have no goal. You want nothing, you're there... for what? Good pay?"
They both know that their jobs pay like shit. It's hard for villains to get money unless they're doing it in unethical ways and heros have their paychecks taxed heavily for city damages.
"Again, why are you telling me this? There is zero point to this conversation. I don't care. I'm a villian because I like my status and I like the fear I inflict on people by simply going outside."
"Because it makes you feel safe."
"No"
"Then why do you like it when people are scared of you?"
"..."
The Villain can't think of an answer. They like being feared because it does make them feel safe, they just hate how hero knows it so well. They truly are alike and in this moment, the Villian realizes that they aren't so different. They hate it.
They hate Hero, they hate that Hero is right, how they can just read Villian, and they hate how there is a mutual understanding that there is no purpose for this. There's no reason to fight, there are no morals, there's no end goal, there's nothing.
"When this over, where do we go, Villain? Who will win, and what will we all do when it's done?"
The Villain still can't speak, so they simply stare and try to think of an answer.
"I don't know" are the three words they settle with.
The tension in the air leaves. Hero nods and says nothing, the point they wanted to make is finally made.
Villian doesn't have to do this... Not because they can get better, or heal, or cope, or become good, but because at the end of the day there's no point to pick a side when the sides are the exact same. Every day is an endless cycle of fighting and planing and not once has Villain found purpose.
"So what do we do?" The Villain asks, hesitant and afraid.
"Live to find purpose" Hero says ever so softly, voice tender and kind.
The Villain truly doesn't need to do this. To be a villain. To pick a side when there is no difference... so it they don't need to do this, and when they find their purpose, what are they supposed to do next?
"What do we do when we find it?"
The question lingers for a moment...
"Keep living."

"Why are you quitting anyways?" Hero asked after sitting down on the roof. "Private buisness." "Really? Telling me is the least you can do. You really are a villain."
"Damn right I am. Just let it go...please."
Hero was feeling sad. Throwing her old broken phone was hard for her, how could she stand losing villain. They had something even if she couldn't put her finger on it and she didn't want it to end. It was childish and she knew that but she couldn't resist wanting him here. She does keep forgetting he's a villain a lot doesn't she? Well, fuck. "I'm sorry" the villain suddenly said. "Why?"
"Its hard to be a villain. "
"What do you mean?"
"I'm not someone who does something without any reason just know that. I started this with a reason and I am ending it with one too. Actually more than one but still."
"With this one...I trust you."
"It's weird to have someone who does!" Villaim chuckled sadly. "I'll miss you little hero."
"I will too villain. I hope you find a better path."
Villain smiles genuinely then smirks "You can only hope." Villain got up to leave.
"Goodbye now, Hero!"
"Goodbye Villain! "
And then, the villain left. This will hurt for a while.

Note: This is part two of my first little writing. Hope you like it!
Hero aimed at the villain, but he managed to dodge. "It's just that I don't think I can continue this." Villain kicked hero's ribs quickly, sending her flying to the ground ahead. Hero coughed, then continued talking. "You- coughs -can't be serious! You've been my partner for the last 2 years!"
"Partner is a strong word–"
"Partner."
Hero finally got up and ran towards the villain. Villain tightened his fists and took a stance to fight back, then suddenly the hero hugged villain which left villain baffled and also wanted to make him say 'aww' like a grandma. Hero then squeezed her grip on villains body and strongly kicked the villains gut twice with her knee before villain pushed her away. "I thought we had something!" The villain shouted offended and embarrassed, crossing his arms like an edgy teenager. "Me too! Before you said you were gonna leave me to fend for myself!" Hero said pouting like a 5 year old.
"I'm literally beating you up!"
"Hah. You wish! You lost last time!"
"Then I'll win this one!"
"Nah, let's not. I'm not in the mood."
"Are we seriously gonna wait for you to feel like fighting??"
She paused. "...Please? "
"Fine." Villain said, but it was a 'fiiiiiiiinneeee~" more than anything. 'These people be really chill for enemies' would say anyone who ever saw them.

Note: I'm part of the my first language isn't English crew, so please excuse any mistakes!
There was something off about villain. He was acting strange lately. It was as if his mind was somewhere else.
"Tell me what's wrong?" the hero asked. She needed to know why her enemy was acting so strange lately. What was his plan?
"Huh?"
"You have been acting weird since our last fight. What happened?"
The villain looked away. "Its nothing."
"It certainly isn't. Just spill it." Hero insisted.
"It doesn't concern you does it? You're the enemy." Villain swinged his sword at the hero but the hero doged it quicker than villain doged the question. "It does. You know i can help you. Plus our relationship is a little different from a normal hero and villain's." Hero pointed out.
"Fine. I'll talk."
"Thank you."

I see prompts about hiding or treating injuries and scars but what about this;
Whumpees who makes their scars seem so much worse so that maybe Caretaker or Whumper won't hurt them as much or will pity them.
Whumpees who cries and sobs at even the slightest touch but is so used to the feeling.
Whumpees who show off their scars and wear things that make them more visible.

I'm scared of what ifs. I'm scared that the world may actually be a bad place. I'm scared of the future. I'm scared of now, too. I think I'm just sacred. But people say that I should be. And I'm starting to believe that. That I should live my life in fear. Then, in my eyes, the world will become a worse place than it was yesterday.

The way I see it, love isn't something hard to find. It's something hard to keep. After some time, it fades and turns into something else. And if you want to make it work, there should be mutual trust and respect mixed with understanding and care for one other. But isn't that what already love is?

My fear isn't that my loved ones will die, for it can not be stopped. I find there to be no reason to fear the inevitable. However, I fear that the people who love them won't get over their death. What if they simply give up on life? What am I supposed to do then?

Maybe I didn't jump in front of you because I cared more. Because without you, life would be miserable, and without me, the world would not be worth living in. And so, I don't jump in front of you. Because you would jump in front of me and die in delight without worry. And I would respect your decision too much to let you be the one to live. Because I know you would rather die happily than live miserably till the end. Because I love you enough to let you die happily. Because I love you enough to live, even in the misery of your absence.
