Still unlearning that productivity cannot be measured by how long you worked. I could finish all of my work for university in 2 - 3 hours and my head would not care at all. "What do you mean you didn't spend the majority of the day on work related stuff, you're so lazy!!"
I have nothing left to do??? What do you want me to do?? Sit on the couch for the rest of the day unable to enjoy it and do anything because I feel bad for 'not working hard enough'?
Oh.

there is a special place in hell reserved for the people that created Microsoft SharePoint.
Or maybe there isn't because even the devil cannot organize anything BECAUSE THIS POOR EXCUSE FOR AN APPLICATION IS NOT MADE TO BE USED BY ANYONE

the patriarchy sucks.
But studying art history (with a minor in cultural studies) truly opens my eye every other day to how much our whole belief system, morals, history and culture (and so much more) is not only influenced but grounded on this.
to name an example I am currently writing an essay on: art history has, for the majority of it's existence as an academic field disregared so much art works and practices on the sole basis of them being "not truly art" just because they were associated with feminine practices (such as fiber crafts)
this practice of belitteling art works by calling them "decorative" as an insult is rooted in the sexist belief that womens taste and art works rely mostly on ornamental practices and pretty surfaces more than a deeper idea behind that or an creative process.
ARISTOTLE once connected the matter to the feminine and the form to the masculine, leading to the century long association of the mind and the creative process with the masculine and therefore reaffirming the man as the creator and women as lesser than that.
This is not new by any means I'm just blown away any time I come across something like this and as a person identifying as a woman (and a woman studying art history) it just makes me so angry how much was missed/ misinterpreted / disregarded solely on the basis of arbitrary hierarchies.

I know the Minecraft Movie was all fun and games but there is one thing I get increasingly angry the more I think about it: The portrayal of gaming culture.
Today, non-male players do not only make up a significant amount of gamers but more than half the total numbers of players overall! When Minecraft was first released in 2009 gaming was already a mainstream hobby.
And still the Minecraft Movie chose to represent gaming as this niche thing for nerdy lonely little boys without any friends in school. That it was something you hid from other to not seem uncool.
That is not what Minecraft was ever about.
Instead of trying to capture the state of the Internet and Youth Culture surrounding gaming in the late 2000s, like the rise of Let's Plays and Youtuber Personalities, playing Bed Wars after school together, building on your own server with your friends, they added a whole charakter just to have an excuse to play with the whole arcade era of gaming in the 80s. As If gaming culture has nothing to offer besides that
The Minecraft Movie had the chance to finally do something different. To make the point that Minecraft in particular has made since 16 years. That gaming is for everyone. It could have helped to break up the icky relationship between gaming and its representation in media.
And I am really mad that it chose not to do that.
