"Stop being funnier than me on my own post" is one of my favorite healthy tumblrisms, along with things like "hang on lemme look that up...yeah this is funny" and explicit tone indicators (positive). Like yeah let's build a world where we playfully format healthy interactions. You made a post and you wanted to be the star but damn, you've really gotta hand it to this other person for their really funny addition, so here's the internet equivalent of giving someone a friendly punch on the shoulder while making sure they know they got a good grade in social interaction

I realize everyone in the Wind Breaker fandom is concerned about the potential lore drop looming over our heads in the upcoming chapter 192.
There's been a lot of focus on just learning about Sakura's past, but may I propose we all brace ourselves for the REAL danger that could be in store?
Sad Chibi Sakura
If that happens, we're all doomed.

New 'Bootcamp' boyband.
According to sources a new boyband has been formed at Bootcamp with 5 solo contestants thought to be more promising as a group.
The boyband made up of auditionees: Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik
(Liam being one of this years re-auditonee’s) The boyband are yet unamed.

Previous groups formed at Bootcamp have usually been doomed from the start and although usually making it through to the live shows don’t go much further. Futureproof, Hope and Miss Frank to name the most well known,

We often treat commenting and kudosing as transactional, but I’d like to propose a different perspective.
A fandom is like a community garden; the plants and trees are fanworks, the paths and benches are structures like ao3 and kinkmemes and themed weeks or months. Comments, and kudos? Those are fertiliser. You don’t necessarily see them at work, but they make the trees grow stronger and the flowers bloom brighter. When you comment on a fic or piece of fanart, you are nourishing our shared garden and helping to make the soil fertile for future works.
I want commenters to feel proud of that contribution. Whether you turn up with a wheelbarrow of the stuff to tip on your favourite flowerbed or just drop a heart emoji in the donations box, you are helping to make the soil richer, the garden more beautiful.
And you know what? Sometimes you need to just sit in the garden without feeling obliged to do anything to maintain it. That’s okay. It’s your garden too! As an author, I don’t want people coming to my stories with a sense of obligation; I want them to be able to enjoy them and be restored by them. If they don’t have the energy to comment right now, that’s okay.
But a comment isn’t the price of an entry ticket to someone else’s garden; it’s an investment in your garden, in your community. You won’t always see it bear fruit, won’t always know what part of the whole it helped grow. But you can know what you put in, and feel proud of being part of the team nourishing and maintaining this wonderful space we all share.
And whatever you do, please—don’t litter, or tell other people they’re enjoying the garden wrong.

The thing about hualian and Hua Cheng and why I don't think Hua Cheng is boring as someone who doesn't like when a character is turned a vehicle of validation for some other character is that Hua Cheng is not deprived of characterization by being obsessed with Xie Lian. Being obsessed with Xie Lian is his characterization.
Hua Cheng was conceived first, because MXTX wanted to gender flip the trop of the beautiful ghost woman obsessed with her love. So not only Xie Lian was designed to be someone Hua Cheng would fall in love with, Hua Cheng was designed to be someone who would be obsessively in love.
Hua Cheng has a very extreme personality. He remembers everything and feels everything deeply. It's just not in him to do things by halves. And his feelings are absolute. He says so himself, hate is hate and love is love. When he likes something, he will like it forever and have no room for something else.
Hua Cheng also has (honestly kinda unfair) standards for himself and everyone else. He has no regard for people who won't walk the hard path. If Hua Cheng has a goal he is going to work for it and he is going to achieve it. If anyone else would have given up before him then it's on them for having a weak will or their feelings weren't worth anything to begin with. Hua Cheng doesn't just have faith in Xie Lian, he has faith in himself as a believer of Xie Lian. That he will stand by him and support him is something Hua Cheng takes pride in.
Hua Cheng is someone who learned from a young age to fight back, to be stubborn and to not show any vulnerability. He is deeply ashamed of having ever being powerless and as such has a need to be in control. And even if all of this got worse through his interactions with Xie Lian and how he couldn't help him through anything until he took the curse of the spirits onto himself, those are still things he is feeling and that inform how he acts. I mean, Xie Lian lives Hua Cheng just as much as Hua Cheng loves him, but the way they act on it is different because they are different people.
And like, not only is he willing to impose himself if Xie Lian won't care about his own well-being. Even on feelings that regard Xie Lian, he's still willing to act on his own based on what he wants. Like when he defeated the 33 officials, I don't think he ever believed Xie Lian would want that, but by his own will, Hua Cheng couldn't let them stand.
If Hua Cheng had to leave something for his love of Xie Lian, it was his grudge against the world. He wanted to kill himself and everyone, but he was able to put this aside when Xie Lian became his reason for living, because now he had something to focus on and to give him meaning. But this doesn't mean he forgot his disdain for the world, just that he now had something more important. This disdain got worse at seeing how the world treated Xie Lian, yes, but it existed way before that.
Hua Cheng admired Xie Lian for his kindness, but he cannot be a bleeding heart the way Xie Lian is. I wouldn't exactly call him a good person. He does have his own sense of values and gives importance to his word. He is also capable of a sort of capricious kindness informed by both Xie Lian's values and his own experiences as a poor child.
Xie Lian would be happy to live in a hut for the rest of eternity. And to be fair, so would Hua Cheng if they were together. But also all the money and possessions he has and the ability to give Xie Lian all manner of treasures is something that Hua Cheng does want for himself. He doesn't care about any one individual possession but the fact that he can have him makes him feel good given how far he has come from where he started. And really, this greed also encapsulates Xie Lian himself. Even if he would have accepted a rejection, when he sees that Xie Lian allows it, he takes and takes and takes.
And just like Xie Lian, Hua Cheng already completed most of his character arc and we come to understand him in retrospective. It's more subtle because his feelings are shown in more subtle ways and because he isn't the protagonist, so we only get snapshots. But it's still there if you care to look. We can see the ways in which he has changed, the ways in which he has not changed and how the current Hua Cheng is the realization of what his past selves wanted to become.
My point being that Hua Cheng is not a character that is suppressed by his role as a love interest utterly devoted to the protagonist. He is a fully realized character and an intrinsic part of that is his devotion to Xie Lian. Add to that that the story is good, that Xie Lian himself is a great character, that the themes are thigh and that above all things hualian have genuine chemistry. Just watching them go through any mundane task is entertaining on its own. And really, I love obsessive characters with intense emotions. Hua Cheng I could never find you boring.

I got the wonderful opportunity to see Labyrinth on the big screen last week (thank you Fathom Events) and I think this time around really helped me nail down one of the things that makes this movie so special to me: the ending message.
A story with a somewhat childish sixteen-year-old girl who immerses herself in magic and fantasy worlds who goes through a journey and a transformation and comes out the other side more mature could very easily have ended with the message of "Now that the adventure in the fantasy world is over, our heroine has grown and matured enough to leave magic and fantasy behind and become an Adult."
But Labyrinth doesn't do that.
Labyrinth says: "You might grow up a little. You might put away your costumes and your music box and your crown. You might give your teddy bear to your little brother. But that doesn't mean you have to leave it all behind. Every so often in your life, for no reason at all, you might need a little magic back in your life. And your friends in the fantasy world will always be there for you."
"Should you need them."

KPDH au where sometime before the plot of the movie, Rumi is kidnapped be Gwi-Ma
Rubbing my hands together like a fly. Yeah I can do this >:)
Also whoops this is now just like. An outline for what this fic would look like. Hopefully that’s enjoyable.
The Honmoon is getting stronger and Gwi-Ma can sense that it’s going to become golden within a year if he doesn’t do anything. None of the usual plans are working (and Jinu is still training the other Saja Boys to be idols) so he wants to pull something before Huntrix’s world tour. He knows of Rumi’s patterns but currently can’t control her… However he knows she can be particularly destructive with the Honmoon. If he’s going to target anyone, it’s her.
Gwi-Ma sends as many of his best demons as he possibly can and for once, it works due to Rumi being caught alone. Rumi is dragged down to the demon realm BUT they can’t get her to Gwi-Ma’s throne before she finally manages to break free and books it. Gwi-Ma is FURIOUS. He sends out a broadcasting message in every demon’s head: Find the Hunter and bring her to him alive. Rumi doesn’t know her way back. All she can do is run and try to blend in, with terrible results.
Jinu, like everyone else, gets the message but unlike everyone else, he knows Gwi-Ma somewhat well (as well as anyone can know him) and he knows Gwi-Ma is desperate. A little digging and asking some of the remaining demons who dragged her here reveals the truth: she’s not just a Hunter but half demon too. That’s never happened before. Word is she can mess with the Honmoon and Jinu is… Intrigued. Maybe she can pose an actual threat to even Gwi-Ma…
Jinu seeks Rumi out. Most demons who found Rumi have been killed to be silenced but Jinu is veryyyy good at dodging and Rumi is tired. The last thing she wants to do is trust a demon but this one isn’t attacking her. He just wants to talk. Eventually he wears her down enough that she’ll hear him out. Jinu explains his plan: he’ll help Rumi out if it means she could potentially find a way to take down Gwi-Ma for good. It’s a bit of a long shot but Jinu has wanted him dead for centuries and this might be his best shot. Rumi doesn’t know how to get back home and is currently pretty pissed at Gwi-Ma so she accepts. It’s the best deal she has right now.
Meanwhile Mira and Zoey are FREAKING OUT. They’ve figured out what happened via some demon interrogation and they might not know WHY Gwi-Ma captured Rumi instead of killing her but that doesn’t matter. They’re finding a way into the demon realm. They’re marching down there and taking Rumi back even if it kills them (but… y’know. hopefully it won’t).
Jinu returns back to the Saja Base. He says he has a bit of a surprise and he wants no one to freak out or jump to conclusions. Baby asks him if he brought another stray demon home. Jinu says, “Nottt exactly?” And before Baby can ask what the hell that means, he gives the signal and Rumi enters behind him. All of them are SHOCKED. Abby asks for confirmation that that’s the Hunter Gwi-Ma is tearing up the demon realm to find. Jinu says yes. Romance asks if he has a death wish. Baby seconds that. Jinu has to defend his plan while half of them get into an argument over how fucked they are if Gwi-Ma finds out. Rumi is… mostly in shock. She’s had a weird day. This doesn’t even break top ten at this point.
Rumi hides away in the Saja Base while everyone else still searches for her. Jinu employs the rest of them to help her embrace her powers. They’re all very wary of each other but Jinu is trying VERY hard to make this work. He really wants Gwi-Ma dead. At some point he and Rumi actually start to open up to one another because he realizes he’s not gonna get anywhere if he’s not honest. Rumi bonds with some of the other Saja Boys too. Things go pretty well.
Two weeks later, they’re all totally blindsided by the arrival of the rest of Huntrix. Mira and Zoey DO think the Saja Boys were the ones to kidnap Rumi until she steps in to correct them. They stop trying to kill them but they’re still a bit wary, Mira especially. They all have a very tearful reunion and since they see her patterns, Rumi has to come clean about them. Mira and Zoey want to take her back to the human realm immediately, everything else be damned. Rumi hesitates a bit. The Saja Boys don’t like the idea of being left without a way out again and protest this. Cue argument between 2/3 members of Huntrix and 3/5 members of the Saja Boys. Rumi is on the fence. Jinu has bonded with her a lot and now is conflicted because he wants Gwi-Ma dead but they’re right, she could die trying, and that… Bothers him. A lot.
In the end, Rumi asks Mira and Zoey if they’d be willing to help her if she did stand up to Gwi-Ma. They’re ride or die and figure if everything goes wrong, Rumi’s new teleporting power can get them out of that mess. And maybe there’s a way the Saja Boys can help… Team work makes the dream work, right?
Gwi-Ma’s gonna regret ever bringing the fight to him.
Not perfect in terms of plot but I had fun with it, thank youuu :)
(Send me an AU and I’ll give you 5+ Headcanons about it!)
