Letlive. - If I’m The Devil... (Review)
Tumblr media
Self-proclaimed Soul Punx, Letlive., are back with a brand new album “If I’m The Devil...” and this has been something I’ve been waiting for since a month after they released “The Blackest Beautiful”, because I’m really fucking sad like that. Prior to the release of this album “Good Mourning, America” & “Reluctantly Dead” have been shuffling on my phone more than an epileptic at a rave. That now feels like fitting preparation as the whole album is just as addictive.
Tumblr media
The opening track of the album, “I’ve Learned To Love Myself”, hits home like a sledgehammer to the groin and you know that every word that rolls off Jason Butler’s tongue is from the heart, simply by the conviction he has in his voice. It might not be the heaviest track Letlive. have ever written but on an emotional level it definitely pulls on the heart strings a lot more than a 6 minute barrage of screams could ever do.
In fact the entire album seems to have developed more towards the softer elements of the Letlive. we know and love. Usually I’m completely against when a band drops their heavier side because it’s such a bullshit money grabbing disingenuous move to make, usually pushed for by a suit who has his hand up your arse because you owe the label $100,000 from that last advance you pissed up the wall on fancy clothes and class A drugs, but in this case Letlive. have nailed it. Track 6, “Foreign Cab Rides”, is a perfect example of a fantastically constructed song which ties in some of the best bits of the band. It’s almost like listening to a lullaby in places because it’s so soft. Then in the second half of the track, like an EpiPen straight to the chest, energy fires out of nowhere and sets the mood for the next song. Probably still my favourite one from the whole album, “Reluctantly Dead”. If you’re more into the heavier yapping and messiness of Letlive. then there is something for you on this release too, the perfectly titled, “Another Offensive Song”, it’s a lot more similar to the songs off “Fake History” than either this release or “The Blackest Beautiful” and that’s exactly what’s needed for all you sweaty moshers and world haters out there. Okay, It’s nothing compared to “27 Club”, but that song’s like the one time you pull a 10/10 on a night out and then have to stick with 7s and 8s from then on because you’re definitely a 6 but you can dress yourself and still have most of your teeth. You just got lucky once/Rohypnol.
All in all, Letlive. haven’t let themselves, or their weird obsessive fan sat here dreaming of a 5-way spoon, down. This album could be another giant stride in their quest to spread the ideologies of Letlive. across the globe, I just wish there was more of it.
A solid 43 out of...

If this is genuinely an attempt to stop thieves it has to be the most fucktarded thing I have ever seen!  First, that wood probably cost more than the calculator so you may as well just let the guys take the calculator in the first place and just buy another. Surely a university gets a discount on calculators? I doubt they do on wood though. Unless it’s Cumbria’s University of Lumberjackery and Bench Making or some ridiculous shit like that.
On top of that and the main thing that makes my dick explode, I’m guessing the wood is there so you can’t fit through a door, right? So the students will just turn the wood 90 degrees.  AND THIS IS A UNIVERSITY DOING THIS? An institution which is meant to teach our smartest people?!  Fuck. We’re all fucking fucked.

My First Proper Blog Entry
Hi to the 6 followers or so I have right now. 5 of which are inactive and one is just here for the porn... If that is still a thing on Tumblr (It’s been too long).
I’ve got an announcement - No I’m not gay, well I might be, but that’s neither here nor there - from now on I will be using this blog to express the thoughts which go on in my brain. Most of my blog entries will be triggered from seeing a vast amount of stupid every single fucking day, but I’ll also be focusing on writing reviews for musicians and even the odd independent film.
Obviously, there’s about 22,000 people every square mile doing this so why would you want a review from a douche kid with no reputation? Well, I have the answer. Sort of. My reviews are going to be comedic. I’ll still review the music and give my honest opinion but instead of writing about the vocal layers blending beautifully like a choir of angels I’ll write something along the lines of “The vocals in this song left me with an uncomfortable bulge in my pants. Which, if I was at home alone, would not be a problem. However, whilst sat on a rush hour tube in extremely tight jeans an erection is probably the second worst thing I could have right now. A bomb would be the worst, but a lot less embarrassing.”
If you’d like a review of your music please feel free to contact me and I’ll get right to it. The same goes for if you have any tips or advice all feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
                                       LUKE’S BLOG’S NOW ON!
