Mostly here for Star Wars. At some point I will actually stop procrastinating and post one of my projects.

I genuinely don't understand those padme girlboss truthers, especially when they say she didn't really love anakin or that he mind controlled her. Like... where is that coming from? There's no mind trick. No manipulation. No force coercion. That's not how their relationship was. She wasn't some naive puppet falling for the first hot jedi that complimented her hair. Padme was one of the sharpest, most politically astute people in the galaxy. If anything, she was surrounded by manipulators every day in the senate, she knew how to spot manipulators and controlling people.
She didn't fall for his power or his title. She fell for the one person who saw her as padme, not a senator, not a queen, not a symbol. Their love was tragic, secretive, and doomed but it was hers. It was real she got to be selfish for once. To act like she couldn't have genuinely loved him unless she was being “controlled” erases her agency entirely. Isn't it more feminist to let her be complex? To acknowledge that a powerful woman can still want love, and intimacy without it invalidating her strength?
Padme wasn't a flawless girlboss icon. She was a fully realized character brave, compassionate and human. Let her be that.
Anakin loves padme and padme loves anakin.
Sorry about the grammar mistakes I was typing too fast 😓

This is not like a fully completed thought but yk
So I've done my first aid + CPR a few times. And every single time I try and bring up scenarios for fat folks
Specifically like 'what if someone is too large for me to wrap my arms around then to do the heimleich'
And its incredibly rare I get a decent answer.
How absolutely insane is it that me, as a fat person, is asking how to have MY life saved or to save ANOTHER life, is an impossible feat if someone is fat.
Most of the time they tell me to 'just try anyways uwu'
There has got to be a better option.

You know, all three times Palpatine took an L it was because he couldn't just couldn't stop jizzing lightning. In fact, with the exception of the bit where he tries a little burst and Yoda just catches it, every time he does it it breaks bad for him in some way cause he's just to much of a sicko to stop electro-jaculating in time. Compare this to the dignified, almost regal, force lightning emanations of Count Dooku.
Don't really have a point, but sometimes you just gotta post about Sheev Palpatine.

so i did my undergrad thesis on disability eugenics. so when i talk about eugenics here i mean in the context of disability. it's been a few years (+ some random on tumblr isn't a real source) but i distinctly remember that my research into disability eugenics centered in europe + the global west/imperial core was that like. people have this perception that we had a very bad turn during the nazi reign of germany and that came out of nowhere and then it was fixed when we ("we") won. some people know that the nazi eugenics project was inspired by the united states of america which has a long and unbroken history of eugenics against multiple groups of people (to this day). few people might also know that disability eugenics continued in europe unbroken after the second world war, and outright sterilisation or certain upsetting "treatments" carried on for decades. i remember finding evidence up till the 1970s and back from the 1990s (not that the 80s had nothing, that's just the sources i had) like. disability eugenics is not and never was a thing of the past. it is ongoing, it is constant, it is not a "one off". i read stories of people killing their disabled children, getting them sterilised without their understanding or consent. of people going into places like care homes for disabled people and mass killing. in environmental disasters or disturbances how it's disabled people who are left behind to die first. multiple papers and academics straight up saying disabled humans are not people. even straight to my face. and after i finished that degree and left i saw how they completely fucked disabled people over during covid. how they're implementing assisted death for disabled people instead of giving them any quality of life. how decades of austerity politics targeted disabled people first and foremost and continue to do so. it's not that disabled people will die if more restrictions on our support passess the bar of whatever country you live in (which, they will). it's that we've been dying by the thousand over the past 20 years from austerity and poverty anyway. don't think for a single moment that disability eugenics ever went away. it's never too late to give a fuck about disabled people but we've been here this whole time, experiencing this shit over and over, and protecting each other because very few people want to protect us

As someone with violent and even homicidal ideation, I think the choices people make are far more indicative of their moral character than anything else.
Thoughts mean nothing. Thoughtcrimes don't exist, especially because what we think is out of our control. If you're not running around hurting people or advocating for others hurting people, then you're fine. For the love of fuck stop stigmatizing mental illnesses and and the unsavory symptoms some of them tend to have.
People can't help it whether they have intrusive thoughts or even fantasize about violence. It doesn't mean we're going to do it. I'm not going to apologize for my symptoms nor does someone finding them off-putting give them a license to be ableist/sanist about it.

How many Jedi were buried with their lightsabers today? How many weren't buried at all but left behind like so much garbage, their weapons taken as trophies? The younglings, had they known what to do? Who could they ask once their teachers had been cut down?
She placed a hand on the grave marker and allowed herself one more moment to think about the man who was buried there and about the man who wasn't. She thought about her master, whom she could no longer sense, and the other Jedi, whose absence was like an open airlock in her lungs. With determination, she shut it. She stopped looking for Anakin through the connection they shared. She stopped remembering the clones, alive or dead.

really not sure when it happened or why but personally I'm pissed that the queer community at large seems to have given up ground on the "people with penises/vulvas/testes/ovaries" language to sex & gender essentialists in exchange for the much less precise, much more demeaning "AGAB" language.
is it because you're scared of the word vulva? of acknowledging out loud that some people have penises? of recognising that many many people, including but certainly not limited to trans people, have mixed sex characteristics that cannot be accurately summarised by "afab/amab" as shorthand for "female/male"?
"in [GENITAL RELATED] situation AFABs will need to do X and AMABs will need to do Y" there are "afabs" with penises and "amabs" with vulvas. Saying this shit makes you look so unserious & honestly transphobic (given the ongoing erasure of post-op trans people within broader community). Intersex people and GRS have both existed for long enough (fucking forever and, decades, respectively) that we should well past making this basic fucking mistake.
quit referring to people by a vague & often violent event that happened at their birth as though it defines ANYTHING about how they & their body currently operate, and start using precise language so you at least look like you know what you're fucking talking about.
