Remembering the time I was asked to remove 'intersex' from my discord bio by the mods of a furry discord server because "this is a sfw space and that includes bios too" and I got so fucking mad I chewed out one of the mods and was promptly banned for "being rude and disrespecting the mods"., As if my personhood as an intersex man hadn't just been reduced to a fucking fetish porn trope and deemed too inappropriate for teenagers to see in my bio.

— cursed with clock head, amnesia, swimming away from Panther, Lion and Wolf but they're all different kinda of mermaids too like sharks, eels and all that. their flames are SEA FOAM!!

— gets stuck in a fish net, Vergilius pulls them out while he's out fishing with the Indigo Elder.

— "what the hell are you supposed to be"

— cue Woman Fear Me, Fish Love Me plotline of Vergilius distancing himself from society so bad that he ends up head over heels for a mute half fish half clock person afraid of the sea

↓more unstructured merdante AU brainrot

— Dante used to be a sea prince/princess in the past probably. They can't remember anything, but something at the back of their mind doesn't let them swim too far back into the sea, also they were literally chased out of there. They stay with Vergilius for some time because of that.

— Vergilius is a normal fisherman, normal fishermen don't usually catch mermaids out of nowhere. He initially planned on trying to sell Dante on the (secret and dark) mermaid market, but due to their weird head he wasn't too sure of their value. Their body wouldn't go well for perfume or meat and since they can't speak they can't sing like other mermaids do to charm people. He tried returning them back to the sea, but seeing that Dante was afraid of something there he decided to keep them at his house, for now.

— I can imagine Dante being very insecure of the fact that they can't sing to Verg, they'd probably want to thank him with some healing song or something similar but all that reaches him is the ticking of a clock. Maybe Vergilius can eventually tell them he likes their ticking as background noise. and there we have it. the mermaid is cooked

— Image: Dante climbing out of their bathtub and dragging themself all the way to Vergilius's bed to try singing to him in his sleep but ending up just sorrowfully ticking away...

— Also Charon interacting with Dante like a dumb kid looking into an aquarium with fishies. Mimicking their movements and ticking and puffing her cheeks out.

— "clockfish" "NOT what im called"

— Sprinkling in some U Corp. identities

— Captain Ishmael and Twinhook Gregor want to potentially buy off Dante later on. Ishmael wants to use them as a compass to lead her to a whale. Gregor probably has his reasons too, maybe to pay off a debt to the Middle? (the sinners (with some exceptions *cough cough* faust *cough cough*) probably won't be able to hear Dante's words in this AU...)

— Overall imagining lots of wholesomness about Dante navigating life on land and slowly overcoming their fears to return to the sea and Vergilius opening up more as ppl like Rodya and Faust and Hong Lu and yeah the sinners basically help him learn more about taking care of a mermaid

— btw Vergilius had probably killed a LOT of mermaids in his dark dark past. but he'll get better!

— verdante kiss. Dante don't want to leave to sea because of sad old man :(

— But they kinda have to but they'll come back someday! all sinners miss them real bad and Vergilius sits back and is like "daaaamn"

— Or maybe he goes with them by boat? Maybe Faust makes some potion that lets him go underwater with them (mergilius??) and... idk

if only i were to write this as a fic... look, i already have a large demon!Dante fic in the works, i can't juggle two large fics at the same time😭😭 i would LOVE to but i think ill like. die if i try
