As the Chief Cultivator there were many chores and duties that Hanguang-Jun needed to attend to which involved him being away from the Jingshi and Wei Wuxian for many hours. Too many hours if either man was asked directly, but needs must. It would also be irresponsible of Lan Wangji to abandon the Cultivation world in favour of- Well, it wouldn’t be the first time, now would it?

But, still, while his brother was in solitude there was an expectation on the younger Twin Jade who, despite his more recent misbehaviour, did understand and appreciate that certain things could not just be pushed aside and ignored in the hopes that somebody else might step in, take up the mantle, and be the one to make decisions. He would only have himself to blame if things happened in a way he did not approve or agree with.

Today just so happened to be one of those days.

Discovered a hidden talent of @hannah-writes during lockdown and that is hairdressing! My hair had got just too long and she very kindly agreed to cut my hair. Goodbye four something inches! Feels so much better, it really does.

telling kids with mental health issues to just "push through" sets them up for failure down the line. bc you're telling them "just do this thing, even though doing it pushes you to levels of stress & anxiety & discomfort & exhaustion that aren't a normal or healthy reaction to this task."

you're telling them "do this thing, no matter the cost" while not acknowledging the cost is longterm health consequences. you are trapping them in an unsustainable process that will cause regular invisible damage over time.

and it will work at first. maybe for months or for years or for miserable decades even. they will push through, at great personal cost. they will string together coping mechanisms and use maladaptive self-abuse to motivate bully themselves to get shit done. and it will work. right up until the whole thing fucking collapses in catastrophe.

no one should have to wait until they have a fucking breakdown just to be allowed to get help.

Seriously. I know EXACTLY what quote that is, where it comes from and what’s happening when Tony Stark is saying it. It’s literally about the love of his life, Pepper, and it couldn’t have been a better fit for Wangxian. Especially given the use of GIFs.
