Corpse Bride (2005)
Okay, Corpse Bride… where do I even begin? Tim Burton takes his signature blend of gothic weirdness, adds a dash of unsettling charm, and creates a world where the dead are more lively than the living. It’s like if Halloween and a fairy tale had a baby and that baby was somehow more emotionally mature than all of us.
Victor, the reluctantly romantic protagonist, is a stuttering, twitchy mess who somehow accidentally proposes to a corpse, thus sealing his fate in a shadowy underworld where everything is uncomfortably stylish in its decrepitude. It's like your aunt's haunted Victorian mansion but with more dead people in wedding attire and less fresh air. His accidental bride, the Corpse Bride, is a gothic dream come true—if your dreams are inhabited by half-decayed skeletons in beautiful, darkened ball gowns.
Visually, Corpse Bride is an absolute feast for those who thrive on the beautifully grotesque. Think of a world where the color palette ranges from midnight blue to funeral grey, and every character looks like they stepped out of a painting by an artist who specialized in "creepy but somehow elegant." The world of the living is drab and stiflingly conventional, while the underworld, where our dear corpse bride resides, is a lush, eerie carnival of shadows and decay. There’s a place for rot in this world, and it looks amazing.
The gothic aesthetic is dialed up to eleven, with towering gravestones, twisted trees, and fog that seems to embrace you like an old lover who’s a little too enthusiastic about the reunion. The characters are all skeletons, ghouls, and half-dead creatures who somehow manage to look classier than anyone at your last family reunion. The Corpse Bride herself is a striking figure, with her ashen skin, wedding gown falling apart at the seams, and eyes that could pierce through your soul and probably your Wi-Fi signal if she tried. Aesthetic goals, honestly.
Johnny Depp’s Victor is just so Victor. He has that kind of pale, anxious, “I’m in a constant state of existential dread” vibe that just screams gothic leading man—like a broken, haunted boy trapped in the wrong world, wearing the wrong suit, and being dragged into a marriage that involves an actual corpse. But somehow, it’s all very… romantic? It’s tragic, sure, but when you’re in a world where the bride’s dress is literally made of cobwebs, who wouldn't get swept away?
And can we talk about the villain? A dead man, who’s just... lingering there, like the ghost of every toxic ex you’ve ever had. He’s like if the “I’m still in love with you” text went from cringe to full-on necrotic obsession. His existence is just a perpetual sigh—the aesthetic of a jilted lover who just won't let go, even if that means clinging to the past literally until death, and even beyond it.
In short, Corpse Bride is a love letter to decay, with enough gothic angst to fill a thousand black journals. It’s a strange tale where the line between life and death is so blurry, you can almost imagine yourself falling in love with a skeleton bride too, as long as she wears a veil and doesn’t mind a little rotting at the edges.
So, if you're into eerie, melancholic beauty and love stories that transcend mortality, this film is like a decadent, haunted cake you’d eat in the middle of a graveyard, under a blood-red moon. Just don’t expect it to be... normal.
Also, maybe an unpopular point: I’d love to see a live-action movie of this :D
I know, it’s basic but this is the best Burton animation sooo…

Supernatural (2005-2020)
The Winchester Brothers’ Never-Ending Road Trip
So, you’ve heard about Supernatural, huh? The show that ran for 15 years, outlived several CW presidents and survived cast exhaustion. Strap in, because here’s the rundown of this legendary rollercoaster of a series.
Plot? Who Needs Plot When You’ve Got… More Plot. The premise is simple: Two ridiculously attractive brothers, Sam (Hair Goals) Winchester and Dean (I Eat Pie Like It’s My Job) Winchester, drive around in a sweet 1967 Chevy Impala hunting ghosts, demons, and things that go bump in the night. Sounds straightforward, right? Oh, you sweet summer child. By Season 15, they’re fighting God. Yes, the capital-G guy upstairs. And it totally makes sense… somehow.
The Bromance: Sam and Dean’s relationship is the emotional core of the show. One minute, they’re yelling, “You lied to me!” The next, they’re hugging and dramatically saying, “We’re all we’ve got.” Family therapy, who?
Monsters Galore: If it exists in folklore, Supernatural has hunted it. Vampires? Yep. Werewolves? Sure. Killer clowns? Obviously. That creepy thing you thought lived under your bed as a kid? Oh, that was definitely a Supernatural episode.
Humor That Slaps: The show knows it’s ridiculous and leans into it. Highlights include: Dean thinking he’s a literal dog for an episode. ("Look at my face. Do I look like I’m joking?"). A black-and-white monster movie tribute complete with campy Dracula. Sam getting possessed by a demon and going on a coffee bender (no one has ever looked happier about caffeine).
Guest Stars from Heaven (and Hell): Castiel, the socially awkward angel who doesn’t understand personal space, steals every scene he’s in(and we LOVE him). Crowley, the snarky demon king, delivers sass like he’s on a Bravo reality show. And let’s not forget Bobby Singer, the grumpy surrogate dad who made “Idjits” an iconic insult.
Fake Deaths Galore: If you got a dollar every time a Winchester died and came back, you’d have enough cash to buy your own haunted mansion. Death is basically their vacation spot.
The Apocalypse, Again?: By the time the third apocalypse rolls around, you’re like, “Can someone else save the world for once? The Avengers, maybe?”
Overtime Issues: Around Season 11, you might feel like the writers are spinning a roulette wheel labeled “Heaven,” “Hell,” and “Another Monster with Daddy Issues.” But you stick around, because you’re too invested in the Impala’s gas mileage at this point.
The Legacy, fifteen years later, Supernatural left us with:
- A lifetime’s worth of classic rock songs stuck in our heads.
- Enough fan theories to fill an actual Bible.
- Destiel.
- A devoted fandom ready to argue whether Dean deserved that ending (spoiler: no pie in heaven?! Blasphemy!).
It’s not perfect—plot holes so big you could drive Baby through them—but it’s heartfelt, funny, and ridiculously addictive. Watching Supernatural is like hanging out with chaotic friends who always have a crazy story: you roll your eyes at their antics but wouldn’t miss it for the world.
And since it is my favourite series, of course I would recommend. But remember, when someone says, “It’s just one more episode,” they’re lying. You’ll be watching until you’re humming "Carry On Wayward Son" in your sleep.
The fullest Full Moon you’ll ever see 5/5 🌕

Clothes
Clothes are the main focus of this aesthetic and follow a specific structure. I will divide this post into four parts: tops, bottoms, shoes and accessories.
Tops
Having the right top to construct an outfit is very important. Tops have to be long, ending below the waist. They either have lace, bows ruffles, empire waists or baby doll tops work too. Layering is also important, either having an extra lace camisole or a fitted button down under or a cardigan, or even a vest. The tops have to be body hugging which accentuates and creates a more feminine silhouette. Puffy, flutter or 3/4 sleeves work great but sleeveless top's can also be seen in media. Colors are mostly muted and neutral like white, cream, black, grey, brown, and for pops of color: muted red's, blue's, mauve's. For some more inspiration you can look at aesthetics and styles like coquette, fairy grunge, himekaji and roma gyaru. School uniforms are also a big inspiration.
Bottoms
For bottoms, everything is pretty basic. Pleated, ruffled, tiered or a-line mini skirts work best. They can have lace details, bows or even pomp pomp's. Mini shorts and capris are also popular. Capris can be layered under skirts and dresses like seen in some recent trends inspired by the 00s. Bottoms can have subtle patterns like plaid, polka dots or stripes, though it's less common.
Shoes
With shoes it is also very simple. Knee high boots are the most popular in media usually brown shades of color, they can have buckles or laces or even fur trim. For a more feminine look, mary-janes are a great choice and there are a lot of different styles, heel height and so on. Flats are also a great choice as well as loafers. Unfortunately, although most practical, sneakers do not fit the aesthetic.
Accessories
Socks and tights are a major key point in dressing like this aesthetic. Knee-high and anything above like thigh-high socks look the best and are the most popular. They are usually in dark shades like black or grey but anything works as long as you stick to the color palette. For tights, look for sheer ones or knitted ones as they can give a cozy look. You can also accessorize with garters, though they should be simple. Accessories around the neck are also very important. Lockets, pendents or small, dainty necklaces can really complete a look. Even just taking a piece of ribbon and tying it with a bow gives a very cute look. Any bracelets should be dainty.
Tumblr media
That's all for this post, next I will cover accessories but unlike the fashion accessories, I will talk about items and props. If there is anything I forgot to mention or you spot any grammar/spelling mistakes please let me know.

Terrifier 3 (2024)
directed by Damien Leone, brings Art the Clown and his twisted accomplice Victoria Hayes back for a holiday-themed gorefest, delivering a brutal yet darkly humorous take on the slasher genre. Packed with over-the-top kill sequences, gruesome practical effects, and nods to classic horror films (Black Christmas, go watch it)
Let’s start with this: if you’re the type of person who associates Christmas with warm cocoa, carols, and sparkly lights... well, Terrifier 3 will take your gingerbread house, smash it with a sledgehammer, and then use your candy canes as weapons. This movie turns Christmas into an industrial-strength bloodbath that makes Home Alone look like a Hallmark special.
Art the Clown, the silent assassin who is somehow both funnier and scarier than your weird uncle at Christmas dinner, is back. And wow, he’s really into the holiday spirit—if by "spirit" you mean "creative ways to ruin someone's life." From wearing a Santa suit to making ornaments out of intestines, Art’s festive flair is as twisted as his grin. This movie doesn’t just “push boundaries”; it straps them to a rocket and launches them into space. Within 15 minutes, I was already questioning my life choices—why did I eat before watching this? The kills are so graphic and over-the-top that they feel like a Mortal Kombat game set at the North Pole. At one point, I almost expected Art to yell, “Finish them!” while using tinsel as a garrote.
To dive a bit deeper into the kills. Well, it was a passive kill but what Miss Victoria did to her Virgina was definitely something… it wasn’t even one of the big scenes but “my highlight” of the story. Oh, the story? Let’s be honest, we’re not here for that. We’re here for Art’s antics, and boy, does he deliver. He murders people with the kind of creativity that would make MacGyver blush. But then they try to make us care about deep themes like PTSD. Damien Leone, we appreciate the effort, but let’s just admit it: we came for the bloodbath.
And one thing: I hated the hype. All these little Spoilers on Instagram and TT. I wish I could have walked in without expectations. Maybe then I would have been more shocked.

Sleepy Hollow (1999)
Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow is a dark, gothic reimagining of Washington Irving’s classic tale, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” Set in the late 18th century, the film follows the eccentric and skeptical Constable Ichabod Crane (what a name), portrayed by Johnny Depp, who is sent from New York City to the eerie village of Sleepy Hollow to investigate a series of mysterious decapitations.
Tbh it looks like a Dungeon adventure, but in the best way possible. The era and their fashion is PERFECT. A must-watch for a victorian goth lover (and for witches). As well as lovers of Johnny Depp ( Ichabod is his prime). Also, the resemblance to Victor from Corpse Bride is huge (I think it’s the mix of bravery and vulnerability). What fascinates me, is that Burton’s visualises some spooky moments more “gory” than usual. After that, I would like to see a movie by him with explicit elements. I mean are there any movies which are so aesthetic like Burton’s and so gory like Leone’s? Is that even possible (pls say yes)?
However, as the atmosphere screams “googoomuck” the story on the other hand is rather not so googoo. I (as a series<movie person) would actually like to see a longer version of it. Folklore has so much lore (no shit). Yes, it is a murder mystery but what if you explore every detail of the myth and write a few more plot-twists? After Wednesday at the latest, it becomes clear, that he is capable of doing this.
And because of that, I give this movie a half moon (3/5) 🌗
