THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE

On May 12th 1945 The Franchise started with a book in the Railway Series called “The Three Railway Engines” which the Rev Wilbur Awdry collected some stories he told his son Christopher Awdry when he was sick with measles and the very first lines where

“Once upon a time, there was a little engine called Edward. He lived in a shed with five other engines. They were all bigger than Edward, and boasted about it. They said: The driver won't choose you again. He wants big strong engines like us.”

The book was so successful and thanks to a custom wooden toy Wilbur awdry came up with “Thomas the Tank Engine” in the book of the same name of the character

Why this is special to me…when I was young I was very confused and never bothered really paying attention to stories thanks to my autism and once my mom got me a dvd from Hollywood video (back when those were a thing) I watched it and fell in love with the franchise I had the toys rented the DVDs and eventually my parents just bought me them since I love them so much and once I discovered fan content…it surprised me that people loved this show as well and I never wanna let him go because Thomas helped me through rough times and shaped me into the person I am today (when others weren’t available)

(Yes this franchise was before Super Mario…before Bob’s burgers…before sonic… before all my other fandoms)
