I saw a post on Facebook, "As an Author/Poet, what is the most offensive thing someone could say to you about writing?"
My response:
"When people say writing is easy. It doesn't bother me when people say "I don't like this because…", because I know my writing won't intrigue everyone. If my writing is loved by one person only, then I did my job. But when people say it's easy, that's when I get upset. You can be taught to do most things. You can't be taught to have an enormous imagination to create worlds that don't even exist… or when people ask, "have you been published???" First of all, I'm 16, how many 16 year olds do you know that have been published? Second of all, I don't have to be published to be a writer. I write every day. Whether it be a summary on my day, poetry, or a prompt I found on Pinterest. I'm a writer. And like I said in my original comment, if I only entertain one person, then my job is done. I usually share my poetry with one close person, and he loves them. I'm a writer, and my job was done. Although it is my dream to be published, soooo…."

if you’re looking for a sign
this is it. keep living. don’t end it. you have so much to live for. this is just one bad chapter in your entire book. put down the bottle, unload the gun. "stay alive. it's worth it, i promise."

No matter how hard things get, I'm always going to be here. Whether you're having trouble with a math problem, you're arguing with your mom, or you're considering downing the whole bottle. I'm always going to be here for you. Because I fell in love with every single effing part of you. And that's what love is; being there for someone no matter what the circumstances are. And I love you.

Don't kill yourself, please.
If you’re suffering from depression and are looking for a sign to not go through with ending your life, this is it. This is the sign. We care.
If you see this on your dash, reblog it. You could save a life.

Sometimes we share our love with the wrong people though. We get the same thrill; the same rush of excitement. But they don't appreciate the love you have. You give them the earth, they ask for the universe. You give them the moon, they demand the sun. Nothing is ever good enough for said person. Your image of love gets distorted, thinking love is taking care of your person's wants and forgetting about your needs. So you forget you ever have needs and wants and feelings, just to make your person happy. You're not doing the things to love and take care of yourself, because they get a thrill out of you looking at yourself in shame and disappointment. And you mistake their selfishness for love.

My darkest days have been brightened, all by the sound of your voice; by the smile on your face. I had forgotten what it feels like, true and utter happiness. When I first saw you, I was in shock, you know. Your smile, your laugh, your eyes… everything. Everything was all a blur, How could this be possible? Pure perfection stood before my very eyes. Sometimes I have to ask, are you even real? Never have I met a guy who makes me as happy as you do. Not even my own father, who has never spoken positively. But you, oh you have given me smiles I’ve never had. I never knew the corners of my mouth could stand so proud and tall for an entire day, all because of a person. You’ve given me happiness. You’ve given me passion. You’ve given me the beauty of life; all of which I’ve never experienced before. I couldn’t be more glad that you’re in my life; that I’m sharing mine with you. I’ve never felt that confidence before. I couldn’t be more proud of myself, that I’ve found someone like you. I never thought it was possible, but I’ve proven myself wrong, by finding you, an angel. I love you.

Passion Hatred Pleasure Fear They’re all opposites, but they mean the same. I feel them all, all at once. It’s confusing, but I love it. I love the feeling you dig into me; how it burns when I say your name. I want more, more of you. You gave me the best time; the best and the worst. I can’t thank you more, but I’d give up anything, for just one more time. Just to prepare for the day where you ripped my heart out. But that’s what love is, right..? The feeling of guilt and sorrow, while you’re feeling euphoric, I’m still happy for you. I still tell myself: “This is what love is, right? You have to be able to take this, this is normal. It’s normal for one to feel this way; miserable and unwanted. He’ll come to his senses eventually.” But you never did. You never told me “I can’t do this,” no, instead I lived under a rock for weeks upon weeks, unknowing of the cold truth. I can’t say I blame you, though. I know it’s hard being in a relationship; especially one you don’t want to be in. If only there was a simple solution, rather than forcing someone to overthink everything they’ve ever done to the point where their thoughts are eating them alive. But it’s okay. Because that’s what love is, right?
