Earlier this week I learned of the passing of Peter David (May 24th, 2025). David was a prolific writer, but I knew him best as the writer responsible for changing the trajectory and tone of X-Factor in the 90s. A LOT of the snippets I’ve featured on this account are his doing. His X-Factor was a very new kind of X-Men story; he brought a lot of “minor” mutants into the spotlight and focused heavily on the more human sides of his characters. His writing was hilarious, but also continuously surprising in how poignant it could be. He will be dearly missed by the fan community. Rest In Peace, Mr. David.
