So this isn’t really a question, but I really appreciate the line that you wrote about how people say that you can’t choose family. I love how you counter it by saying that you can’t choose blood, but you can choose who you let into your life, and who you block out. I’ve been going through a tough situation that involves a close family member for five years, and I’m thankful that what you wrote pertains to the questions I’ve been asking myself during these years. Thank you so much for that line.

It can be so tough to grapple with deep and impactful questions like who we allow to take up space in our lives. I wish for you both patience and decisiveness when it comes to your happiness, safety, and well-being, and I hope that your family--whoever it turns out to be--loves, celebrates, and supports you in every way!

I’ve been mostly quiet for the last few months. A lot has been going on! My book went on sale in January, and I’ve been hard at work on my second book (as of yet untitled!). I’m on my second draft of major changes, and I’ve decided to track them like this! There are about 20 chapters and I have a lovely, soothing almost stained-glass vibe diamond tracker! I do a few chapters in bunches and send them to my freelance editor. I just got through my first pass on Chapter Ten on Sunday, and I’m about to explore further into chapter 11 before doing a second pass! My book launch event was on Wednesday this week, and boy did I have an absolutely wonderful time! I was as nervous as could be, but looking out into a room filled with friends and family and coworkers who were excited to celebrate with me and support me made it so so wonderful! The bookstore had a dozen books and sold out, and many many thanks to @stirlingbooks1 for having me (and for the lovely decaf coffee)!! Independent bookstores are such a treasure, and this one is no exception.
