I Swear I Am Working!

I have been meaning to do a in-depth update with some issues i have been dealing with. That said i wanted to say i am still working on my concept art, and will be posting links to articles as they come out! Please bear with me and thank you for your support!

Todays a two-fer since yesterday was a none-fer? ah, well will be pouring some more time into tomorrow so I can stay on schedule!

Day 3 and here is the first look at the MC’s Cloak and Spirit. I will be posting a video or 3 on the Spirits use and some world background. will still be drawing tomorrow even with the Superbowl interfering with most of my day.

Day 2 of the challenge and I am already struggling, so send the vides man. However, here it is, I will be posting an overview of the magic system I'm using so the actual “Cloaking” makes more sense. Enjoy.

I am not a great artist, i am aware, but in an effort to improve and state my dedication to improvement i created a challenge. The image above is the first of challenge to myself to draw every day for the month of February. Specifically drawing concept art for the potential comic titled Cloaked. Do you ever feel Alone?

I am actually not talking about the more common depression based feeling of alone, more the pursuit based. what I mean is when was the last time you sat in a group of like-minded people driven to the same goal? Even if the goal isn't exactly the same, when have you gotten to share your dream and the challenges it brings?

This was a thought that occurred earlier this month as I was planning out the convention circuit for this year (Mean Ink Publishing will be doing like 4-6 btw). Honestly, I have personally seen a modicum of success in the past year, having reached three-fourths of what I've spent in getting the actual business up and running. As a businessman that's damn good for a small business that reached into a sales venue its products were rare at (short stories at comic conventions). Don’t get me wrong it was hard and every step had to be planned out nearly a year in advance, but it worked I am proud to say.

However, I really don't know many people who dream of taking their works public even fewer would want to try selling them. so all my passion and effort seems like a fire in the dark, yeah I’m lighting up my immediate area but It’d be nice to see others, imagine what we could light up! to be able to cheer on others when they succeed or pick them up when it doesn't quite work out. We as creators are generally a small group, many people are more than content to simply work a job, and there is nothing wrong with that. So for the rest of us toiling away at a dream that seems impossible from the ingrained near sighted system our public school setup, often you may feel alone, I know because I do.

New Years Thingy

So i dont often do new years resolutions and of those, i post them even less. However, i did have a resolution this year that has been different than in the past.

Stay in touch with friends more.(simplicity itself)

Little background, i have the worst record of keeping up with people. Even those in my town and especially if they live far away. So this resolution atleast for me will be an effort.

My reasoning though is that throughout 2017 there were times i felt completely alone. Sometimes it was just physically alone, but most often it was alone in lifes pursuit. I more than once felt like i was alone in wanting more from life and it sucks to think that.

I started pushing hard in a small business that i was passionate about, it was challenging but I've had a framework to build with. I bounced out of 2 jobs that by no means were bad jobs, good money, relatively laid back a little physically demanding but over all not bad work. Sadly i had to leave them due to on going medical issues but i also felt dead in those jobs. I wanted more, i wanted to wake up and love having to, but all around me were people just coasting.

It wasnt until i linked back up with a few of my old friend's that i learned some of them were in the same place life wise. So a part of me has begun pushing to stay in contact and encourage them and be encouraged myself.

No man is an island. Its tough to remember that when we sit in an ocean of life that feels bleak and devoid of others. Reaching out however is all it takes sometimes to find someone else and move forward.

Thats my resolution would love to see yours and know why it important to you.
