i've said it before and i'll say it again. lord huron might fuck around and be the best band of all time. their new album is themed around a mystical reality-shifting jukebox. kristen stewart monologues on the lead single over a super crunchy bass. the imagery is always vivid, stories always told, themes interwoven, concepts unique and full of depth, music tremendously listenable and nostalgic but also engaging and fresh. you will rock out and cry and contemplate every life decision you've ever made and be transported to a world that's just a little stranger and a little more magical. they have a song about a vengeful evil zombie and also one about a chill ass zombie, both on the same album. literally no other band does anything remotely like them it's incredible
#YOU GET IT#This album was fire#Every song is fantastic#No losers in Lord Huron#Sooooo hyped for the concert#If y'all listened to Cosmic Selector v1 tell me your favorite song#If you DIDN'T listen to it... go listen to it. What are you doing

Been watching some videos discussing previous years’ ArtFight drama and wanted to say:
When I was a very young artist (~10-12) on the internet for the first time, there was this artist who I really looked up to because I loved her style. I didn’t try to talk to her a lot because I was too shy, but I did draw her one or two gift arts and expressed how much I loved her work.
And then one day, to my absolute surprise and delight, she drew me a gift art back! It absolutely blew my mind that someone I perceived as such an amazing high-level artist took notice of a dorky little kid like me and took the time to draw one of my characters as a gift.
That artist and I were never friends per se, barely acquaintances—which, understandable, there was absolutely a massive maturity gap lol. At this point she probably doesn’t even remember who I am. But that one act of kindness has always stuck with me, even now 15+ years later.
That said, the drama about people not wanting to make art for beginner artists is absolutely bizarre to me. I love drawing beginner artists’ characters, because it makes them so happy!
An excited comment from someone whose day was made because I drew their character fills me with just as much joy, if not more, than a beautiful illustration of my own character. Obviously I still enjoy receiving nice art of my own characters too, but the main reason I participate in ArtFight is to give art. If I can do for even just one beginner what that other artist did for me over a decade ago, I consider that a success!
#spreading awareness#Art fight is as much a gift-giving event as it is a gift-recieving event!#Honestly probably moreso because because there is more giving involved in a gift than receiving. Gifts are a giving-based concept after all#Go forth artists and make someone's day!#I know that's why I'm a part of Art Fight :))

Boosting this because even though I can't get a commission myself, I truly adore Nimphelos' work!!

i’m testing out commissions for the first time. i have 3 slots available for full color illustrations with a solid color or gradient background of your choice.
payment is through my kofi!
my dms are open for any inquiries, or you can send me an email at [email protected]. i am more than happy to work something out if you have any questions :)
more info below the cut:
orientations and pricing:
$15 square portrait: shoulders/chest and up
$30 half body: knees/waist and up
$45 full body: head to toe
all of these can be negotiable! i am happy to work with whatever you think is best for the composition or character. all commissions come with a solid color or gradient background of your choice! i know i primarily draw tolkien characters but commissions of characters from other media, ocs, and real people are welcome!
additional info:
i am only saying no to anthros and mechs for now because i do not think i can draw them sufficiently yet. if you have a character you think might fit into those categories and are interested in a commission, then feel free to ask me about it and i will try my best!
i won’t shy away from complex designs either. i love details :)
that being said, please provide as many specific details of your character/individual as possible. reference images, pinterest boards, descriptions, or links to your art, for example, are all greatly appreciated and will help me deliver a better illustration for you!
wait time and process:
estimated wait time for all commissions is 1-3 weeks. i’m typically a fast illustrator, but it depends on how busy my personal life gets.
i will provide a finished sketch of your commission within 72 hours of your purchase unless stated otherwise, which you can then request changes or confirm that it is ready to be colored. once you confirm that your sketch is ready for coloring, i will not be able to provide a refund. i am happy to make changes to your commission after it is completed, but it is easier for me if you share your requests as soon as possible!
#lord of the rings#lotr#art#Not my art#commission#PLEASE commission them they're amazing#If I could I would!

reblogging to my main blog because I think she's so cool :3
Sacha Thorne
I just finished these artworks of my current DnD character, a half-Orc Sorcerer/Fighter named Sacha Thorne!! It took me a while to settle on a design for her, but I'm super hyped about these drawings- Sacha means the world to me, as an oc I actually get to play (since I rarely get to play DnD and when I do I've been the Forever DM for years). Her design is heavily inspired by 2000's grunge if it was fantasy, with some subtle scorpion imagery as well (like her braid and tattoos), since her magic is based on poison and acid.
I did put her up on Art Fight, so if you like her, please check out her profile!! If you draw her this year I would love it so much!

Hi!
Sorry to come uninvited into your messagebox.
First, I wanted to say welcome back to this little corner of tumblr.
second, I was wondering if you had written the second part of your rewrite of Tauriel. I am terribly sorry because I liked the first part very much but I can't find the second part... And my memory is terrible... So sorry if you did and I just completely missed it.
Thank you and "Au plaisir de se voir" (to the pleasure of seeing you again).
Hey there! Thanks for the ask - I'm delighted that you enjoyed reading my rewrite of Tauriel! I had fun writing it and concepting new ideas for her character arc.
As a matter of fact, I have written the second part, and the third part! Here are the links to them (and the first part, in case anyone else is interested in reading all three):
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Hello! Will there be Elrond week this year?
Hello! Thank you so much for asking, and for showing interest in Elrond Week (you're not the first to have asked me about it!)
As much as I would love to, I don't think I'll have the time to plan, run, and keep the event running. It was so wonderful to build the event and see all of your contributions (I'm still blown away!!!) but this year, I probably will not.
Perhaps next year!

Hello all! It's me, that mutual you haven't seen in forever!
I know it's been forever since I've been active, and I apologize for vanishing off the face of the earth. Honestly my life has been a rollercoaster for the past six months, and it's both taken a lot out of me and given a lot back. It's been difficult for me to get back into posting, and to get back into art, writing, and Middle-Earth in general. So I did let this - as well as my other socials - fall to the side, in order to focus on what was going on in my real life.
Consider this an explanation, and perhaps an intro post to ease back into being active again - probably not as active as I was before, but I will be posting every now and then and interacting with you guys, since you've made my online experience so wonderful.
Thanks for reading 💜🌿

Summary of Art 2024
Since 2024 is coming to a close, I've put together a compilation of my favorite artworks from this year! It's been a great year for my art development, from finally getting back into digital art to the entire month of July (Art Fight) to developing my original characters, to dabbling in other art mediums like crayon, pencil, and pen. I'm very satisfied with how it's all turned out, and with the expansive range of colors, subjects, characters, and mediums I've explored in my artwork. And thank you to those who like my art!
I can't wait for next year!

Thanks so much for the mention!! Especially since your blog is definitely an inspiration to me, both regarding vibes and your Mirkwood lore!
Are there any other blogs like yours? I love to read about ocs and people's headcanons and world bulding you know? Like people adding their own thoughts to the story, but i don't think i have Ever seen another like this one..
Okay first of all, I want to hug you, shake your hand, and put you on a pedestal, because people who "love to read about ocs and people's headcanons and world building" are a rare treasure! <3
What probably makes my blog different from others you've seen is that I'm a little more extensive and intense (for lack of a better word) with my worldbuilding and AU formation. For the most part, I stick to ONE consistent timeline, history, and universe across the board, for all my Tolkien writing. I might occasionally deviate for the sake of fic requests, but for the most part, I'm keen on consistency and everything tying together neatly.
For example, I will only ever have one same OC wife for canon characters like Eomer, Boromir, or Elendil. In my AU, Boromir will never die. Thranduil has only ever loved Maereth. Legolas will never be an only child. These facts will always hold true in the Tolkien fics I write, unless a request asks for otherwise and I am willing to be flexible.
The upside to this is that Readers will know what to expect from my blog and my writing--everything is focused towards the SotWK AU. The downside is, if you don't like my AU concept, I probably won't have much to offer you on the Tolkien front since I don't practice that creative flexibility.
Which is why I'm so grateful there are people like you who appreciate that sort of thing and can be an audience for it!
But BACK TO YOUR QUESTION! (I apologize for going off-topic.)
I have some writer friends who also do a considerable amount of worldbuilding, headcanon writing, and OC creation for their fics! Please check their blogs out:
@meluiloth - Mirkwood/Silvan headcanons and OCs
@fishing4stars - Eryn Galen, young Thranduil, 4th Age Legolas
@toasterdrake - has their own Mirkwood AU, @acornsandoaktrees
@from-the-coffee-shop-in-edoras - Rohan worldbuilding, some Rohan OCs but specializing in "obscure canons."
These are the blogs who write out their headcanons similar to the way that I do, but there are probably others out there I am just not Mutuals with.
Thank you again for this Ask, and bless you for your support of OCs and writers' worldbuilding!
