I wanted to make cute/funny achievements names for each combination of beast and beauty gender, but I really have no idea of one for a M/M couple that doesnt make me cringe in a second read.

Im a slow af coder, so Im really sorry for that :(
Im debating if I should wait to code the whole prologue before making an update or finishing one path of the prologue, sending it as half of an update, and then finishing the other path and making the other updated half

So, I'm sick AF
Pro tip, its apparently a bad idea to not eat, not sleep and instead just study for two weeks straight 24/7 while constantly walking on the rain.
Source, my ass on the hospital with an IV fluid by my side. I feel like the walking dead

The prologue has been finished!
I have officially finished writing the prologue, now I only need to proofread it once more to code it (* ´ ▽ ` *)ノ🎉
Which I can't start right now because my exams week began today... (._.)
The good news is that means winter break is here and I wont have to think about college (or university, I never know which English term is better, tbh) and I can finally focus more on my personal projects.
Ngl, somedays I really have to go in front of a mirror and keep reminding myself that higher education - and even the ability to speak another language and be able to write and code my stories - is a privilege and that a win for me is also a win for all my ancestors who couldn't afford or be allowed it.
Although I would love it if these ancestors could at least help me when Im walking in the pouring rain at five in the morning.

Just so everyone knows, my process is slow as fuck because I actually write most of my text in my notebooks.
I have a collection of pens and cute mini notebooks I take everywhere, and I just write wherever I am.
And then I have to suffer passing all of it to my computer.
I've been writing like that since my preteen fanfic days, and, honestly, it's what works better for me. But, man, is it work
I planned the game on a hospital pamphlet, and I wrote the first part of the prologue in a restaurant on my birthday while I waited for my food.

Hi! Is beauty going to be the only RO? (and are they gender-selectable?)
Yes, Beauty is the only RO, but they can just be your platonic friend, or they can hate your guts if you want. That's actually one of the things that will determine your ending
And yeah, they are gender selectable! There will also be the opportunity to choose what they look like, but there is also a preset appearance option.
The only thing you can't change about them is their name and personality :)

This seems interesting, also are you going to cover the lithe effects of some member of the royal family that got turned into a horrid monster somehow regained their human form, like one day some random prince turned into a monster then the next they turned back
The game will have specific endings you can reach, but they will each have a small epilogue saying what happened after the ending, but Im not sure yet how detailed I'll make them.
They are in my basic outline, I just think my epilogues are better written when the story is over, and I can look back, y'know?

I feel like such a nerd now. I need a three day nap ( ・_・)
The description is misleading, because the child of cousin of the king can't have the title of prince / princess.
First of all, I got my first ask! Yay me \(^-^)/
Second of all: not so fast, my dear anonymous writer!
So, a prince/princess - as most understand them - tends to be the son or daughter of a ruling monarch.
However, in some European states, prince and princess is also a noble title that can be passed down like any other.
Most often, a prince would be used to refer to a ruler of a principality (or princedom), like Liechtenstein and Monaco with Prince Hans-Adam ll and Prince Albert II, respectively.
Depending on the state, language and time period, people might even use "Prince" as a catch all term from everything from kings, dukes to even lords! France - where I am taking some, but not all of the inspiration for the game's kingdom - had lots of different definitions of "Prince".
While Im not following it to a T - but won't get into it at the moment, world building will have its time to shine - Beast is a Prince/Princesse du sang, through their mother's royal blood, and a Prince/Princesse, through their mother's rank and title.
In the past (as in, the prologue) people call Beast "your grace" as a way to show them respect without stepping on their Mother's rank, who is the titled princess and the official mistress of the manor, even if she isn't doing her job ver well.
Here are some examples of "princely" titles there were in France once upon a time. Once again, Im not following these as rule, but I was heavily inspired by them.
Also, Im no expert in french noble and hereditary titles. I didnt even get into courtesy titles, personal titles and all the different and somewhat stupid ways they used to categorize nobles, aristocrats and whatnot.
Prince du Sang
Was someone who fits the traditional ideia of a prince. They are a person who is related, through the male line, to a sovereign. Including the Dauphin (heir apparent) and the Fils de France (the sons of the king or the Dauphin)
Prince Étranger
Was a somewhat nebulous title, it was used for:
● Foreign princes (prince du sang) living in the French court
● Princes (as a ruler of a principality/princedom) who were staying or interacting with the french court
● French Nobles who claimed to be related to a past dynasty or a foreign throne (claiming to be a prince du sang, basically).
Princes
As in, someone who had a principality. Not all principalities can be their own state, just like a ducal state or a baronetcy.
Whether an ancient principality with years of history or a new one made by the ruling regent, they are held by people titled as princes.

Writing Beauty
Beauty won't appear for a while yet, probably by the middle of the first chapter or the start of the second, depending on your choices, but I have already changed them so much.
Initially, I wanted to make Beauty a strictly preset character, but some people I know IRL were really excited about the idea of customizing their own.
At the same time, I know not everyone wants to spend time making their own LI or thinks it detracts from the narrative.
So, in the end, I decided to go back to the drawing board and make both options available. I mean, Beast's monster appearance is already preset, so it seemed fair to me. Beauty's appearance will mostly be flavour text anyway.
Their name and personality will mostly be set in stone, tho.
When I finish chapter 1, I'll do my usual playtesting, fixing any bugs and typos, run the game by some native english speakers and all that jazz. After that, I'll take a small detour to prettfy the stats page.
Nothing big, tho. I'll leave any actual "decorations" until I have waaaay more written - like, at least reached two "real" endings - otherwise I know my audhd will make me fixate on that and only that.
That's what almost happened to my last game, and I learned my lesson.

Welp, This is it
This blog will mostly just serve as a place for me to publicly write about my WIP.
Tbh, I dont know how to use tumblr, so this blog probably looks ugly AF. Not that it matters much, maybe when Im in winter break in a few weeks (hopefully) and I have finished the prologue, I'll try and spruce up this place. idk

A BEAST'S CURSE
Starting your story with "once upon a time" feels wrong, for you are no dashing knight or love stricken fair maiden. You are the Beast. And you need to conquer the Beauty if you want to get rid of the curse that has tortured for so long.
Set in an early 1800s french-inspired fairytale kingdom, you'll play as a cursed prince or princess, fight against the curse that has befallen you and conquer the heart of your Beauty.
Or die trying.
Play the CoG demo here:
