hii, for the WIP game: "Nocturne" sounds really intriguing... i'd love to know more!

oh jeez this ones been int he drafts for so long. Forever ago I saw a Tiktok about someone asking AI to create a fifth Hogwarts house and I got to thinking, "what if after the war everyone was resorted and a fifth house was added?". I thought, war changes people, making life or death decisions and trauma and running causes so many fundamental changes to someone's psyche how would it be reflected in their morals? Would fundamentally 'good' people start making 'bad' decisions etc. so it became an eighth year golden trio fic. Hermione is separated out into the new house with a few others and it devolves into a mystery. Strange things start to happen in the castle and she, along with a few others, have to solve it. I have a little excerpt below if you're still intrigued! I don't know if this one will ever be completed / published though. Maybe one day.

They had been apprehensive at first. Older students worried that they wouldn’t be sorted into their former houses. McGonagall announced the resort before the start of the feast. They would move backwards, upperclassmen first. 

The eighth-year students. 

Alphabetical of course but there weren’t very many of them left so it didn’t take very long. She wondered what Ron felt with the absence of Lavender's name. Hannah Abbot, then nothing. It should have been lavender brown followed by Seamus. But her spot remained empty. A hole that was once filled with a girl. 

Hannah was sorted into Hufflepuff, the same house she had been in since her first year. Seamus into Gryffindor. Things seemed to be going according to plan. 

So when her name was called, when she walked up to the chair and sat down, when the hat was put onto her head and she felt the uncomfortable sensation of an almost sentient being rifling through her memory she never expected what happened. 

“Interesting…” the hat, which had always creeped her out, whispered. 

“Will you elaborate?” 

“This is…different…” her heart raced, pounding in her ears, almost loud enough to drown out the words that followed. 

“Nocturne” there’s a hush over the crowd, any whispers snuffed out suddenly.

The new house, the one that replaced Slytherin.

“With great progress, there are great changes.”

Remus Lupin reluctantly volunteers as a pickup man for their town's small-time rodeo. But everything changes when he lays eyes on Sirius Black, an out of town cowboy who just seems to reel him into orbit.

As the weekend unfolds, Remus can’t shake the tugging whenever they’re close.

On the last day, he gives in.

Something quick and fun in honour of my love for rodeos and cowboys, this was written for myself as a recovering horse girl.

No one asked but I’m going to tell the story anyways lol the photo on the front of the tape is one I took while living in New York. I used to hum around the LES and go to Pianos then sit in Katz’s at odd hours with my roommates and eat cheesecake and French fries. I was really lucky to get to experience that and I’m even luckier to get to write about it.

I cut a big scene out of part one that I’ll probably end up posting here or in a B sides because I still love it but it doesn’t fit the flow of the story anymore.

Finally posting this after humming and hawing and rewriting the entire thing multiple times. 20th Century Boys is a period accurate (sort of) band AU that started as a love letter to all the places I’ve lived and a few of the things that I’ve seen.

All the pictures behind the poster are taken by me around where I live, in Berlin and while living in New York. The poster is also designed by me and will become a series that will be printable for those who want to do so.

I want this fic to be as fun and interactive as possible. I want it to catch the vibe of the music but also the feel of the time. The grittiness of coming up in the tail end of the 70s.
