What is MetalBird Tactics?

MetalBird Tactics is a 2.5D turn based war strategy game. This game has 3 factions and 30 units to chose from to help you develop your own strategy. Those numbers and game modes will increase over time!

Some of my old followers will notice I included a few Vindictive Drive characters too.

Today we officially start service and we are hosting a Wiki to help players develop their favourite strategies.

MetalBird Tactics is a war turn-based Strategy game where you build your formation choosing between three factions, with ten units each and a wide range of combinations to make, to challenge the enemy strategy.

You have only 10.000 credits to spend on your formation, so you will have to choose your units carefully.

Your objective is to destroy the enemy Mobile Base Unit at all costs,  Be careful commander, because you are to face tough resistance.

Battle of Instinct is a reflexes based fighting game with multiple game modes, when the signal appears, the player has a short time to react before the enemy attacks. will you make enemies faster than kameko?

Right now, enemy Kameko’s speed is 11 to 13 frames, for reference, 60 frames equal 1 second.

I don’t think I will make enemies faster than 10 frames, just because it stops being humanly possible.

The average reaction time for humans is 0.25 seconds to a visual stimulus, and 0.17 for an audio stimulus, studies have shown different results but the exact number is somewhere in between 1/5 and ¼ of a second.

To fully exploit players’ potential I will need to improve the way the sound effect in the signal is executed, research shows the fastest sense is tthe sense of hearing, it takes 8 to 10 miliseconds to get to the brain, however, there is more to it and the time your muscles take to start moving after the stimuli is longer than that.

This doesn’t mean that is the limit of BoI’s difficulty, there are lots of things that  can and will make the game harder than Kameko’s speed, distractions, fake signals, sounds off tempo, surprise attacks, memory tricks, there are lots of elements I can use to make the game more challenging, but still humanly possible and fun to play.

Changing my blog name

I haven’t announced my side project yet (which I am working on diligently and using as more practice for Akiyo, since Akiyo will take a while with all I have planned) but I plan to soon, so I will be changing the name of this blog from akiyo-game to @mikuleroux so I can feel free to post freely about my two projects and my voice acting.

Upcoming voice acting role

I am so excited to announce I will be voicing the narrator of Battle of Instinct, Corona Starlight!

What is Battle of Instinct? 

Battle of Instinct is a fighting game under development by Balthasar02, the game focuses on reflexes and quick reaction.

Plot

An unknown organization commanded by a demigod warlord organizes an All-time Tournament in order to find the most skilled martial artist among mortals.

Warriors from very diverse styles of all eras and nationalities are cast to a parallel dimension named Rengoku where the tournament takes place, all of them hold impossible struggles from their respective timelines, and the prize is to have any wish the winner wants to be granted.

The philosophical beliefs of the warlord forces changes in the combatants' minds to only focus on only decisive lethal attacks without defense, the reason of why all duels will end in one to few hits before one of the fighters die.

The story focuses mainly on Azumi and Kojiro Hojo, two Japanese siblings from the Bakumatsu Period, as they decide to participate to save their father from an incurable illness in the middle of a war.

All the fighters also struggle against time, since the situation in their respective timelines becomes considerably worse as seconds in the Rengoku means weeks in the real world.

Possibly making an “easy mode”

Thought the survival mode would be about waves of enemies? NOPE, you will practice against Corona in a friendly sparring match to see how much you can last with speed changes, signal tempo changes and distractions! Don’t hold back, you can’t actually hurt her.

I got a mic and some home recording studio gear, now I just need a place to set it up!

I will be doing a new animation video with my new mic in collaboration with @balthasar02 , voicing a few of his future characters, a few of mine, and hunting for other opportunities. I hope to have a demo reel available soonish.

I need to decide on rates, which I will do once I have a reel, they’ll start small and increase as I get better. I could possibly do some free things IF they’re small; I will only do that until I improve, though.

Mercedes Warren is an aspiring animation artist, who had some really hateful views about the recent Florida school shooting. I didn’t know if it was shared here but I just wanted to get the warning out before you decide to commission her.

Testers and proofreaders needeed for the english translation of lolrust’s new game, Milya.

Miliya is a short (5min) game produced by lol_rust (the creator of .flow, Shoujo Kidan and Shoujo Gidan) that tells the story of Milya, by the voice of her childhood friend.

Chesir, the euthorized translator of the english versions of Shoujo Kidan and Shoujo Gidan is working on this translation, so you already know this is in good hands.

Hiatus ending

Sorry for the kinda unannounced hiatus! I had a lot going on...and to keep myself working and motivated, I will have a casual cute game I will work on the side of Akiyo, with my main focus being Akiyo of course!
