What are some pieces of Villain dialogue that make your brain go BRRRR? (Add to my list)
-"I'm growing tired of this game, little mouse."
-"Oh, I love it when you drop to your knees and beg."
-"That's all it takes to shut you up, huh? Close quarters?"
-"I've got you cornered. Now, are you going to do as I say?"
-"Don't struggle, you'll only make it worse for yourself."
-"I won't let them hurt you again. That's my job."
-"What happened to you?"
-"You think I broke you? Darling, I bent you. I could do so much worse."
-"Make no mistake, I won't save you a second time."
-"If you're so eager to see what pain tastes like, then let me show you."
-"That's it. Obey."
-"You've really gotten yourself into a bit of a sticky situation here, haven't you?"
And my personal favorite,
-"Tell me who did this to you. Now."

-: “We kissed but it was just in the moment thing. Nothing else, right?” Reveal of feelings after a kiss prompts-:
Requested by: Anonymous
By @me-writes-prompts
Kissing for the first time and then backing away quickly because they both couldn't believe what they just did
Practicing kissing with each other
Accidentally kissing such as turning around at the same time to face each other in a close proximity
Kissing as a dare
Fake kissing to convince their families that they are more than friends(because their families keep insisting they date someone)
Drunk kissses that one of them remembers and they confess that they like the other one(or not, and start to pine for them :’)))
Kissing as strangers the first time they meet but then admitting that they actually like them the second time they meet
The “we’re just friends” type of kiss that ends with a confession

"I'll be right back. Please don't do any grand displays of magic while I'm gone."
"Are you sure? I thought I might send up a sunbeam like a signal flare. Let the whole valley know where I am."
"I'm serious. Don't."

"Don't look at it!" Her commander yelled. "Close your eyes!"
It's too bad she had already locked eyes with the creature. She watched the serpent's head as it arched down to stare through her, seemingly straight to her soul.

Writing Prompt #2487
His breath stuck in his throat, but then rushed from his body in short, staggered bursts, proving to be just as ineffectual at supplying any worthwhile oxygen.
It couldn't be like this. It wasn't supposed to be like this.
He couldn't breathe. He couldn't think.
He didn't know what to do.

Hand-holding
The purest form of human connection.
tiny hands in big hands
calloused hands in soft hands
cold hands in warm hands
hands with the perfect ratio to each other for hand-holding
platonic hand-holding
running their thumb over the other’s hand
dancing with their hands holding onto each other
squeezing hand for comfort and encouragement
holding hands across the table
happily doing everything with just one hand, if it means they don’t have to let go
not wanting to lose each other in a big crowd
possessive hand-holding
linking hands together during sex
grabbing hand to show them something
loosely holding onto each other’s hands, laying in one’s lap
only linking the pinkies together, not ready to let go completely
holding hands while skating
excitedly grabbing each other’s hands during a concert, jumping up and down together
playing with each other’s fingers
pressing the other’s hand against their cheek
holding hands while one is balancing on a small wall
grabbing the other’s hand to pull them back from something
holding hands under the table
only realizing it when they have to let go
standing in front of each other, holding both their hands
holding their hands above their head, fingers linked together
passionate hand-holding
grabbing the other’s hand so they don’t fall
holding hands while running through the rain
brushing against each other, linking fingers together for a second
grabbing their hand to grab their attention
not really paying attention, both doing something else, but still holding hands
bandaging the other’s hand and not quite letting go
holding hands while driving
grabbing the other’s hand to pull them back to them
unconsciously searching out each other’s hand while sleeping
not realizing they’re holding hands till someone points it out
swinging hands back and forth, skipping like children
holding hands in a museum to pull them to the next exhibition
letting go when there is an obstacle in their way and immediately grabbing each other’s hand again when they pass it
loosely holding onto each other’s hand
dragging the other with them, holding their hand
raising the other’s hand to their lips to kiss it softly
holding hands while jumping down from somewhere together
comparing hand sizes, then linking fingers together
secretly holding hands under the table
holding onto the other’s hand so they can’t run away
making a heart with their hands and then linking them together
taking the other’s hand to look for injuries
holding hands to calm each other down

Are your characters too “perfect”? Struggling to give them negative traits?
Tumblr media
I’ve definitely fallen into the trap of making my protagonists and side characters too “perfect” before. It’s an easy mistake to make, but it can lead to your characters feeling one-dimensional if you’re too afraid to make them seem morally grey.
Here’s a very simple method:
1. Take a character’s main positive trait. Let’s take Hermione Granger, for example - her intelligence is a defining aspect of her character.
2. Exaggerate it into a negative trait. In the instance of Hermione Granger, she can come across to the other characters as a know-it-all. She’s not always portrayed as perfect for her intelligence, which is what makes her character more interesting.
Using this method, we have a number of options for negative traits for an intelligent character - patronising, arrogant, smug - to name a few.
I use the Fatal Attraction theory for this, which suggests that we fall out of love with someone for the same reason we were initially attracted to them. So, if you grew to like someone because you liked how strong and dominant they are, you may become tired of that down the line when their behaviour is controlling.
I’ve illustrated a few examples for how to exaggerate common positive traits into negative ones in the image above, but I have a few more examples to share so you really get the idea:

You are an author, and it’s your funeral. Literally. Halfway through the eulogy, though, a mob of unsightly creatures arrive. Every character you’ve ever written has come to mourn you.

prompt #9 - a humble request from your local fic reader
Give me sad fics.
Give me fics where there’s no main relationship just casual intimacy. Friendship.
Write me the feeling when it’s raining and the power goes out during the afternoon and it’s fine because it’s still light enough that you can see just fine if you open the curtains.
Tell me what kind of candle scent your muse likes, why? What do they hate? Do they mix up?? Did they pick a new one bc their friend likes that one more and introduced them to it?
I want to know about window seats and books and what it feels like to share clothing.
I want a fic where they don’t HAVE to speak, but they do anyways.
I want to read about what they seek out as a creature comfort.
Tell me what they do as downtime.
What do they pick as downtime if there was no electricity?
Does it vary depending on their company?
Who is their preferred company?
Tell me what the rain makes them feel. I wanna know that shit. I want chill, maybe sad but mostly chill and calm stories about the gaps in between here and there.

Of course! Thank YOU for writing a little head canon here, I definitely am in LOVE!
Prompt #8
Character B’s Family have been a well known group of models for generations, and B’s mom is actually a judge on a fashion show now that she’s retired from runways. The family all follow the legacy of supermodel-dom.
B’s siblings are super successful but B? They don’t care much for it. Sure they’ve done a show or two, but they’ve been more into the actual fashion design aspect. This is how they meet Character A, up and coming designer that is giving the older pros a run for their money.
In other words; no one likes A because they’re damn good and hella creative. When they sees B they just know they have to have B model their clothes. This person was made to wear A’s designs.
It takes a lot of convincing and arguing before they reach an agreement: if B will model their clothing (A insists they won’t take anyone else) then A will take B in as their protege (something that A has refused to do ever before)

I lOVE this! I want to read this as a whole doc even though I really have no idea who these characters are! I love the “a has been like him” bit, and maybe Harry showing James how he sees him, instead of the pitiful light James paints himself in?
