Headcanon that Sparda, Modeus, Baul, and Trish all love human food, because food in the Underworld (usually other demons, but there's some vegetation, too) tastes HORRIBLE.

All of them but Trish will eat just about anything put in front of them, and eat it quickly, largely without complaining, because that's how you had to eat in the Underworld, because usually whatever you were eating was in danger of biting you back or being stolen by somebody else. That said, they do have food they prefer over others. Strawberries, for example, across the board.

We know Modeus likes a good strawberry sundae, and is "picky" enough about it that he'll tell the cook if he thinks they could do a better job. Modeus also knows a lot of mutton and chicken dishes, since he used to keep chickens and tend a flock of sheep. He likes a good cheese, too, especially goat cheese.

I headcanon Baul is a sucker for good garlic bread. Or Texas toast, or toast with pork dripping on- bread and grease, basically, but Tasty. Garlic bread is a favorite of his. He also likes a good meat dish. Mostly beef, but sometimes he'll crave nothing but seafood for a week or two. Even squid- he likes how chewy it is. Which is good, because Modeus doesn't. He'll still eat it, if you put it in front of him, but he'll either try to dice it so small and mix it with something else that he can't feel the texture, or he'll just try to swallow the thing whole, for the same reason. Baul likes sailing, Modeus prefers a nice walk in the woods. They both like hiking in mountains, tho Modeus has more experience with that than Baul.

I headcanon Sparda likes a good cup of tea, and is particular about how its made. He'll add butter and jam, too. He probably likes (U.S.) sweet tea, too. Not sure if he'd add soda and lemon juice/lemonade to his sweet tea, but maybe.

Nevan, like Trish, is picky about her food- but that's mostly because she prefers blood, or raw meat. She likes mushrooms, too, having grown up with some edible fungi in her home territory in the Underworld. She loves a good cave system, especially if there's glowing rocks and/or glowing mushrooms. Or glowing worms, even.

Also, all of them can cook. Well, except Nevan, she's crap at it, and hates doing it. Trish can probably cook... SOME THINGS, but nothing special, and she doesn't really like doing it.

Sparda and Modeus are probably the best cooks, and enjoy doing it the most. Modeus beats Sparda at that last one, but only just. It's how they show they care about their friends and family and community.

Baul CAN cook... just not all that much. He's not all that good at it, and he doesn't like doing it. He'll WANT to do it, because he likes taking care of His People, but he just doesn't have the patience for all the damn measuring and prep work you have to do. He's better if you give him a recipe to follow. He can make simple dishes from memory, usually, but anything more complicated will take a recipe, for him. For Sparda, too, probably, tho he's a bit better at remembering.

Headcanon that Modeus, Baul, Dante, Nina, Lady, and Trish all take Patty trick-or-treating, possibly while the lads are just walking around in DT or partial DT as a "costume". Because Pattycake deserves All The Candy, and also this way they can all keep her safe on Halloween night. And more people means more time trick-or-treating! (And this way the adults can work in shifts, so that way someone is always trick-or-treating with Patty while the other adults take a break. Patty might be young and energetic, but all that walking is hard on your feet. At least, if you're human. Hell, maybe even if you're a demon, Idk.) And more people to carry more candy!

Patty ends the night with like, 4 full trick-or-treat bags of candy, its great. She's so happy! She shares it all with the other kids at the orphanage, and with the adults, too. Its so cute! 💖

Modeus and Trish probably mapped out the best routes to get the most candy; probably by doing some scouting before trick or treating.

Having the Son of Sparda, two devil hunters and two powerful demon lords walking around with Patty and Nina would probably effectively keep the demons at bay during the night. Modeus, Lady or Dante would probably give Patty a small dagger that is disguised as a prop just in case.

I imagine Nina probably being nervous walking around at night, especially if demons are more likely on the prowl on Halloween but with the dmc crew (+Baul and Modeus) walking beside her and Patty, she feels a lot safer.

I do like the ideas of Dante, Baul and Modeus having an excuse to be in their demon forms for a night (or partial DT in dante's case). I hc that Halloween is Baul's favorite holiday just for that reason alone. Plus, when it's his turn, Baul already looks so intimidating (no matter the form) that even those bullies that try to take other kids' candy keep clear of Patty and them.

Baul would mainly post medieval jokes that he remembers while Modeus mainly uses it to look at the nice art people draw. There are times where Modeus shares whatever shenanigans the DMC gang gets into to the site.

Been trying to imagine Modeus with short hair. I think the shortest he could ever stand would be like shoulder length. Any shorter than that and he just look like a giant fluff ball. His hair just sorta fluffs up and sticks out from his head like a lion's mane. (So does Baul's, if/when Baul lets his hair grow out longer than the length we see his human form's hair have. Baul's demon form's hair actually looks longer than his human form, which is kinda neat. More wavy, too. Very pretty!) It looks really cute! But he prefers it longer.

Baul hates long hair (more of Modeus' hair length) but will let Modeus braid the hair so it doesn't get in the way of his fighting.

Since you mentioned the possibility of Baul growing his hair out, Baul does grow his hair out in my canon. It might be hard to tell at all but he lets the hair that isn't defying gravity (Baul would probably pass as a final fantasy character tbh) grow out. The Baul drawing in the corner is how I imagined he'd look in DMC5. Unfortunately, this earns him another nickname from Dante; "Mullet Man."

That there is Modeus' best friend. I will elaborate:

He lets her talk/rant to him for IDK how many hours at the park! He could have asked why she's ranting to him or to stop but he didn't. He listened. Modeus probably would rather listen to her talk than sitting there alone in his thoughts.

Anyways: Patty is Modeus' best friend and no one will stop me.

Was thinking about all the hairstyles Modeus could've had throughout the years, and if he'd dye his hair in more modern (2000's) times, and I think some orange hair dye might look good on him? Like the stuff that starts out strong at the tips and then fades as it gets further up/closer to the roots? I was thinking it could look kinda like flames, or the sun setting.

I could see Patty helping him try a bunch of other hair dye colors, too, tbh. Maybe with Trish! And Nina! It'd be cute! (Maybe they could dye Dante's hair black or brown, too, like he is in his EX colors costume in DMC4 + 5?)

I actually like this idea! Iirc Modeus' eye color in his demon form was orange so having orange hair dye is neat lil nod to it :>. I think purple would look nice on him too.

Patty, Modeus and Trish at a store checking out hair dye is such a nice image I am imagining in my brain uwu. Then they all help Modeus dye his hair probably wherever Nina and Patty live since he didn't want to accidentally ruin Dante's bathroom (in my au, he and baul live in DMC with Dante).

I think it would have taken alot of convincing (or a lot of strawberry sundaes) for them to be able to dye Dante's hair.

Got this idea from My Happy Marriage (for a couple characters, because it kinda makes me go feral):

Modeus kneeling down so that Patty or somebody shorter than him can tie up his hair. I'd love to see Dante and/or Baul do this too, tbh, even if they're hair is probably too short for it. Its just so CUTE! 💕😭

He will do this without hesitation. He always likes hairstyling by Patty.

Honestly with the amount of hair he has, I'm just imagining that one Tangled scene where the trio of girls are braiding Rapunzel's hair but it's just Modi and Patty.

Baul: at first he said no to her but one look at the Patty puppy eyes later; he's kneeling and letting her put things in his hair. Then he'll proudly walk around with ribbons and clips in his hair.

Dante just goes with it. He's used to Patty asking him if she could put things in or style his hair.

Demons being able to talk to animals made me think of Modeus getting the local murders of crows and colonies of stray/outdoor cats to bring him strawberries. (I know he probably wouldn't because that's stealing, but its still a cute idea.) Also love the idea of Modeus befriending the local pigeons, just because pigeons are cute and also pretty symbols of peace and I love them 💜

After mentioning to his animal frens that he likes strawberries, the next day, he finds that his animal frens have brought him strawberries.

Modi: "Everyone, you did not need to steal strawberries for me. I could have bought them."

A crow Modeus dubbed Ser Crowington: "With what money?"

Modeus: ...

A cat named Lady Purrs-a-lot: "Well you did not tell us this before we stole them."

Modeus: *sighs as he takes the strawberries from them.* "Well... let's not waste them, then."

Post Ep 10 (Good ending dw!) At the park:

Baul: Brother, these birds refuse to leave me alone. *a flock of pigeons are following him with the leader of the flock seemingly wanting Baul’s attention.*

Modeus: "Oh! Lord Flockington wants to know if you got any seeds."

Baul: "You named them? And tell them no."

Modeus: *is now holding an armful of pigeons* "Yes, yes I did." To Lord Flockington: "I'm sorry, my brother does not have seeds."

Lord Flockington: *sad pigeon noises.*

How much shampoo and conditioner do you think Modeus goes through? Like, genuinely, tho? I wanna know what that man's hair care routine is like. Would he need to go more old school with how he washes his hair? What method(s) would work? His hair looks so freaking pretty.

I'd imagine half a bottle or more of shampoo but uses conditioner only on tips of his hair. So he has a lot of conditioner left but almost no shampoo left. Vanilla shampoo is his favorite :>.

In terms of methods, idk any methods but he may take a while washing his hair since he's got so much hair. After that he will braid his hair to make it more manageable while it dries. He absolutely dislikes using hairdryers for the only reason that it can also trigger Modeus' hair to spike up and sharpen. Same with flat irons.

Had a headcanon I wanted to share. Technically this is for a "Modeus and Baul both live and are friends (Modeus) or rivals (Baul) with Dante" AU, but anyway.

-Modeus and Baul both let Patty style their hair. Modeus does it first, because Patty asks (Patty: "You just have so much hair! It's so long and pretty!"), and Baul follows his brother's example. They're both fond of Patty (Baul, grinning: "She's all frills and vinegar."), Baul is just more awkward about it because he's not used to being around kids. Its like having a tiny kitten follow him around, to him. Patty's something small and fragile and also a person and he doesn't really know how to act around human children. He tries to be nice to her, tho, in his own hesitant, fumbling way. Modeus is better with kids.

Anyway, Patty does their hair. Maybe Patty even manages to rope Dante into it, too. There's a lot of frilly ribbons and braids and probably at least one pair of pigtails. I think Modeus could probably teach Patty some other ways to braid long hair, too, since he has so much practice with his own hair.

You got it! Modeus HCs:

He has a sweet tooth but it will depend on the day

He does like to read alot of Norse Myth.

His Dante nickname is Porcupine (bc his hair)

Depending on how angry he is, he is prone to bite someone (it's mostly Baul)

Modeus sometimes collects stones.

He and Trish would go out for drinks and have talks of everyday life.

One time when Modeus was bored, he managed to sneak into a college class talking about anatomy. He now has knowledge on the human anatomy.

Baul HCs:

As mentioned before, Baul is usually the one being bitten by Modeus when he's in his angy mode (it's always the arm so Baul can hold onto his bro) [he will continue conversations while modi gnaws on his arm.]

Patty immediately gains Baul's respect when he learns she was able to scare off an adult human (that guy who was stalking Dante that one episode)

Baul doesn't like many sugary things but he will eat strawberry sundaes with Modeus.

He has a bit of a grudge against Lady, cause she shot a rocket/missile at him. But it goes away after a while.

Baul tends to butt heads with Dante.

Baul will not admit it but he sometimes burrows in a pile of blankets.

He will only smile or show any other emotion except grumpy around Modeus.

HCs for both:

If they were in DMC4, they would've straight up told Nero the truth.

Modeus and Baul tend to sleep better when they're near each other.

They used to swap weapons and train with each others weapons.

When either twin gets sick (demon poison or smth), they stay by their side and wait the sickness to pass or if it needs an antidote, they will go to great lengths to get it.

Baul and Modeus would rather listen to Dante's music than Sanctus preaching about Fortuna's image of Sparda.

They can spend an unnatural long time awake before they just flop over and pass out (doesn't happen all the time)
