Day 7 - Holy Hero

I missed yesterday because I worked a weird shift and didn’t really have time to sit down and draw for an extended period of time.

Dude, people are horrible! It's not country specific, you find ignorant numbnuts all over the planet. The fact of the mater is humans are frightened by things they don't understand or are not familiar with & they retain what they are taught. If their ignorant ass parents teach their highly impressionable kids to fear/hate another race & those kids are never around people of other races enough to learn what idiots their parents were then BLAM, more ignorant ass holes.

At this point all we can do is keep pointing to the brilliant, wonderful, innovative, creative, insightful, lovely people of EVERY race and telling our kids, "hey, check them out! They're friggin' awesome!" to make tomorrow better & take legal action against people who are too dumb to see the value of human life to make today livable.

When Utah residents saw 22-year-old Darrien Hunt carrying a toy sword, they called police who shot and killed him. But when 22-year-old Joseph Kelley carried an assault rifle to a JC Penney store in Utah, he walked out without a scratch on his body. They were both the same age. Both in the same state. But only one was considered “suspicious.” And you still believe America is color blind?

Tumblr! Ahhh!!! i officially have a third job. I work 40+ hours a week at Home Depot, 15+ hours a week on my ETSY (more goodies to be posted on there soon &  a second shop in the works! eee!!) and now i work 20+ hours a week in a local business what makes & sells custom loom-woven saddle blankets for show horses!

I love my new job, it's so great to get to be creative and surrounded by other creative people!

That being said those 3 jobs are on top of my raising my daughter & taking care of a little old lady and MAN am i pooped by the end of every day! While i aspire to be on more & be more active with the world around me... some things come first. hopefully i will find a better way to balance my schedule at some point, but till then tumblr is VERY back-burner. Hell, right now i can barely manage to text a couple friends once a day XD

Between Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett I think there should be enough "Get off your ass and do it!" inspiration to fuel the planet. This guy's written & composed more books, comics AND MORE than i can afford, makes time for his fans, travels the world, moves millions to tears and laughter, love & hate AND IS STILL ragging on himself for not being efficient enough! If you've read any of Pratchett's interviews he's just as bad (or good, however you want to see it)

I love these two, I just wish they would share whatever evil magics they use to crank out such a high volume of brilliant work in such a short span of time with me!

MONDO TO RELEASE ‘BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES’ MUSIC ON LIMITED EDITION VINYL

Mondo’s about to level up with its most ambitious music plan yet: a series of vinyl-only releases of Danny Elfman’s music from Batman: The Animated Series.

Coming to Comic-Con next week, the first selection of music will be available in no fewer than five different designs by five different artists, each with their own distinctive illustration created especially for the 7” vinyl record format. Revealed for the first time by ComicsAlliance, this fabulous Harley Quinn piece by Matt Taylor speaks right to the heart of what’s cool about this project: high style and high fidelity, with palpable affection for the material that’s made the animated series — and Elfman’s thremes in particular — so beloved even 20 years later.

Cool news and new goals!

We got our first sale at our shop! woo!! Wrapped up 4 soaps and shipped them out to California! Super excited!

I've also got a bonus coming up in September at my regular job which seems like a great time to move - it'll just be starting to cool off here in Texas and we'll get a bit of a break on heating/cooling bills.

We've got a small sum of money saved up for a down payment on a house for Roo & i, but could still use some more fundage to cover closing & moving costs, turning utilities on & odds and ends. My goal right now is to land another $8k which is a HUGE sum (for me) to come up with in 3 months.

One of the things I'm going to try to do (besides taking all the overtime at work i can) is make something for the shop every day! i'm going to try and post everything i get done here to keep myself motivated, & would hugely appreciate any signal boosting you want to share! <3
