Jumped into my first week-long game jam this week- and definitely missed the mark. I wanted to get experimental, but that kind of game just wasn’t going to come together in seven days.
I’m a little bummed, but I did walk away having learned some valuable lessons. Oh well- Time to get back to the main project!
The theme was “Nothing Can Go Wrong”, and my game was going to be: Boris, Stan, and the Killer Getaway Van.
“Boris and Stan are pulling off the perfect crime. No witnesses. No hang-ups. And they’re on a smooth route out of the country. Nothing can go wrong- except- the victim’s ghost has possessed the getaway van. Now, it’s holding them hostage for a deadly game of Simon Says in this experimental rhythm typing game.”

Redesigning the player character again, and I think I’m finally satisfied! She’s ready to loot decrepit suburban houses and misuse sodium borate.

I woke from a fever dream at 3:00 AM and dashed to my notes app with the greatest idea for a D&D character:
A mousefolk wizard whose powers are inexplicably dairy themed. Hunched over my nightstand, through my brain fog, I scribbled out the words
C H E E S E W I Z

When the game puzzle requires a little thought, and you solve it without a guide or brute force:

Some (Now Defunct) Video Game Character Designs

These guys were some of my first ventures into pixel art, and while I loved them so much, I needed to change the art direction for my little project.
It was great to get the practice in, though! I have a newfound love for this medium and hope to use it again someday!

Death of the Author:
The seed of an idea, handfuls of inspiration, and a spark of creativity (to set the soul on fire). These are the ingredients to make a Muse: A fictional character brought to life. And hardly anyone was better at making them than writer Edgar Fitzpatrick, who successfully created seven Muses in his lifetime.
30 years after the creation of his final character, Fitzpatrick is unceremoniously found dead in his home. In the wake of his funeral, every Muse on the planet disappears without a trace- including your father: Fitzpatrick’s one and only film character.
You’ll have to weaponize your imagination, traverse the realms of fiction and reality, and bring them home in this story-driven RPG.

Making Characters Sprites Out of Stop Motion Puppets

The seed of an idea, handfuls of inspiration, and a spark of creativity- to set the soul on fire. These are the ingredients to make a Muse: A fictional character brought to life.
However, these guys are just made of cardboard, construction paper, and yarn.
Hey all! I’m Monty, and I’m a 23 year old guy who’s decided to dabble in 2D game making for fun. At the moment, I’m getting deep into character design, and after a few weeks of trial and error, I’ve finally perfected the pattern for these cardboard puppets!
They’re all fully articulated. Each individual puppet takes around 3~ hours to construct, not including the drawing phase. (The hands are the bane of my existence, though, and the most difficult part to assemble due to the small pieces.) I’m hoping to use stop-motion techniques to animate and bring them to life!
All of this is for my little passion project- “Death of the Author”:
It’s 1947, 30 years after the creation of his final character, and celebrated writer Edgar Fitzpatrick is unceremoniously found dead in his home. In the wake of his funeral, every Muse on the planet disappears without a trace- including your father: Fitzpatrick’s one and only film character.
You’ll have to weaponize your imagination, traverse the realms of fiction and reality, and bring them home in this story-driven RPG.
