06/25, two girls and a boy by the shore:
They run down, hair slicked across their backs, bikini strings dangling. They are endless, like the childhood dreams of metamorphosis which never die. We always swore that the sea was calling us. They run down, dwarfed against the waves. Towering, building, volatile, thrusting and mounting. The Ocean Gods are reaching out for them, ready for consumption. Limbs fly in the wind, clashing between each other - not out of desperation, but love. Love so untethered, playful and young and without baggage. They are washed within the waves - grey and green and white - finding peace in the reckless.

06/25, random lady that i saw on the shore:
Spinning, indulging. She lets the wind take her, hair swept up in the Ocean's pervading movement. Dress a deep viridescence, hat escaping her. She reaches out, engulfed by laughter as she reels it back in. She spins, arms out, like a child. Everyone is young before the sea. A simple back and forth of unending passion and fleeting existence.

"June comes and I still miss you. You pervade my vision - in the birdsong, and the sun's Midas touch, and the light, unexpected rainfall. Without you here, I take all I am given. The earth sings, sometimes, and I know you exist within it."

genuine question: how do you think people manage to stand out in this generation of authors, considering the amount of books produced every year now? how do authors possibly become memorable?
