I found your stuff and was like, oh cool humanized states that's really swell, but then I realized that it was apart of the welcome to the table fandom. Which to my understanding, is that guy Ben brainard's thing and just like then why must you make some of them hot. That dude's based somewhat off an actual dude. Not serious but just found it humorous

I can’t help but make them hot I truly can’t </3 also just cuz I make them separate designs from each other because otherwise it’s just straight impossible for me to differentiate them from each other and giving them designs helps that while also representing a state and their demographics and cultures in the meanwhile 😼 so them being hot or whatever to y’all is just a byproduct tbh, I personally genuinely don’t see any of them attractive other than Hawaii usually a little bit (I like women 🤤)

It’s also that me and my gf have our own states (states and etc) stuff going on that’s unrelated to Ben’s stuff that tends to influence my designs every now and then, but I don’t really do art for them cuz most of y’all are here for Ben’s stuff instead

I bring you Montana 😌 and a little bit of Alaska in the corner

This lovely boy was inspired by @dailymothanon’s fantasy AU and so I decided to make Montana into this fluffy one

His overall design has been inspired by the thunderbird and wyvern. I also have had no coherent thoughts while drawing most of this besides “fluffy bird” and “pen on paper now GO”

it’s meant in a “interpret it how you want” kinda way 😌 sometimes I imagine just buddies, sometimes I imagine more, really just depends on my mood for the day; I imagine it to be a ‘was buddies probably once, can easily be again’ between Auntie and Canada; and can probably be expanded on after that 🤔

I was wondering what your oddly specific headcannons on any states are or I was wondering if you had any

Yeahh, most of them are gonna be about Alaska and his cities tho (for obvious reasons)

Alaska works in the Arctic Council, as he is the only state to be a part of it anyways. I have more things to say about this but I wont here, but it is a very big topic honestly

Fairbanks has a fear of water he can't see the bottom of. They can swim, but they've been afraid of it since the Fairbanks Flood of 1967

Alaska BIG fan of many science branches... although the Arctic Council requires him to know Earth Sciences, his favorites are probably astronomy and some zoologies (which I've elaborated on the astronomy one particularly in a post before)

Maine knows his invasive and native species

Alaska's biggest opposition is PETA. They fight every year cuz of the Iditarod. They took his moose dropping festival and they will not take any more from him

I've seen this headcanon around and I completely agree. Alaska IS a very much a blankets kinda guy, it's just so true

Montana (And Alberta and if u consider Saskatchewan to be family of Alberta then them, too) has Blood A type blood (non specific on positive or negative)

Hawai'i has a blood type of A (non specific on positive or negative)

Oak has a blood type of O (not because of O in Oklahoma, there's genuine research behind this reason) and New Mexico also has blood type O (non specific on positive or negative)

Alaska has either a blood type of B or AB (non specific on positive or negative)

Vermont is allergic to dust, North Dakota is allergic to pollen, tho other states might be since pollen is a comment allergy

Florida's favorite iditarod team (from this year) was Anna Berington's, since her team of doggies were named off of a "troublemaker" theme. The Dog's names are Ruckus, Rampage, Havoc, Chaos, and Mayhem

Maine has the fastest reflexes/reaction time, cuz yknow... he's basically a cat. Cats have one of the fastest reflexes and reaction times in the whole animal kingdom

Idk this is all I can think of so far, I might update it if I think about it more. It's hard for me to consider what is "oddly specific" but Im sure blood types is certainly oddly specific for me to have thought about before

erhh honestly I don't have a favorite Texas ship, it really depends who I'm talking to 🤔 mainly cuz I like to think about different kinds of dynamics and types of relationships! It also depends on how they're written imo, some ships I simply don't see working with Texas, but I don't mind if others are into it as long as it's not romanticized abusiveness or stuff of the sorts (which is sometimes an occasional thing i've seen around which is quite sickening to read)

you are indeed correct! I was not looking at specific types, however, tho i am glad you pointed it out to me! So i looked into the types specifically and type 1 is still very high for West Virginia, being in the top ten; and so West has the highest overall rates for diabetics, being extremely high with both types of diabetes. As for insulin, it isn’t exclusive to a type, both may use it, but type 2 is less common and usually only temporary meanwhile type 1 relies on it.

West Virginia 🐛 It's been awhile since I drew him!! I also did lots of research regarding diabetes, West ranks highest for diabetic people as well as being ranked high for being a good state for people with disabilities (diabetes is legally recognized as such) so I figured he could be diabetic 🤔 what ships do people have of this blorbo? oh word!!! i also recently did the research to confirm this question i had with myself and what Alaska genuinely, by definition, went thru was indeed a genocide, albeit unsuccessful, it was still an attempted genocide that went on for too long and took out over 80% of Alaska's native population in the Aleutian islands, they even vowed to take the population down to about a thousand. Even the Russian orthodox monks of Saint Herman's missionary wrote it was "almost a genocide".

Again, this is just another reason i cannot get behind the idea of Alaska being Russian.

Personal opinion? New York and Alaska

Learned a lot of shit from dailymothanon about Alaska’s history so all of that persuaded my opinion to be like “this poor man” towards Alaska.

New York? I think this man is also traumatized. A lot. I do not know everything about New York’s history but what I do know makes my brain go “oh god!”

I’ve had these cool gel crayons layin around so i used em. and stickers. he’s pretty and i think of gray, blue, and off white grainy vintage pictures of light houses and rocky beaches when i think of him. cutiepie

Adding to this so people can think more openly about it;

As an Alaskan, born and raised and still live here, it’s not like Alaskan culture wasn’t influenced by some amount from Russian culture. Yes, there is native-Russian mixed language(s) from the influence, but most of the Russian culture here has died out, and basically a ton of Alaskan places and things are being renamed to indigenous names (Utqiagvik instead of Barrow for example) and overall, only the panhandle and Aleutian island chains were mostly affected, because the Russians couldn’t handle the interior and more northern regions because the weather and terrain was too hard and risky for them! They did massacres they prostituted the native women and children they held them hostage! Why would Alaska ever want to represent that! Yes the history is tough and it’s long, it’s been hurting the natives ever since colonization which started before America even became independent from Britain. But even then, if Alaska is Russian because Russia owned Alaska, then for example why aren’t the New England states not portrayed as British or primarily so? Why is Oklahoma and New Mex usually the token native states?

hey alaska is absolutely not russian like at all. alaska is indigenous and by that I mean the state's culture, people, history dominates most of the state.

just bc alaska was owned by russia (colonized and occupied leading to years of harm done to alaska natives) doesn't mean alaska is russian or has anything to do with it now expect for like, specks of references.

in fact when alaska got sold to the us before becoming a state the russians living in alaska left to go back to russia so even they never felt like they were a part of that land

I feel like if you did full research on what alaska is like now if you talked to someone who actually lives in alaska you'd be less inclined to make alaska russian instead of ignoring the majority alaska native population, history and culture that makes up the state

I'm not saying you can't make whatever headcanons you want but you should learn about why you're making those headcanons
