Grouse Mountain - Peak of North Vancouver
The advantage that North Vancouver has over many other places is that this city is provided with the sea as well as the mountains. North Vancouver is actually build on a mountain, which is just very low at the foot of the mountain and increases more and more the higher you go. Grouse Mountain is like the peak of North Vancouver, where you can see the whole city from and more, like the sea, Vancouver and I imagined seeing Vancouver Island as well, which can be possible if the sky is clear. The view is incredible and totally worth it to see. I loved being up there, standing high above the city, breathing the fresh mountain air and enjoying the wonderful view. But getting to the peak, you need to take the sky ride first, which is a gondola that takes you and other 30 people up. The ride is great, but not suitable for people with a big fear of hight. Grouse Mountain also contains many activities, like skiing/snowboarding, ice skating, taking a walk along the beautiful light walk during Christmas time, going hiking in spring and seeing the grizzly bears after their winter sleep. It is an exciting adventure to go to and worth it to try!

Lonsdale Avenue
Lonsdale Avenue is the central road of North Vancouver and in my opinion the most beautiful street of all. It consists of upper Lonsdale, which is behind the highway and leading to the mountains, Central Lonsdale, which is in the center of North Vancouver and it contains many shops, e.g. the City Market, London Drugs, Tim Hortons and many more and when it comes to lower Lonsdale, there are many restaurants with a variety of different cultures and beautiful tree lights you can enjoy at night. For me, Lonsdale Avenue is like the main attraction in North Vancouver, because there are so many possibilities to try out. You can always find a place to go and it will definitely be fun. Lonsdale Avenue is my main Path in North Vancouver on which I can hold on, no matter where I want to go. When I see Lonsdale Avenue, I know I'm almost home :)

Waterfront Park
The Waterfront Park is located directly next to Lonsdale Quay, which is the perfect location, right next to the commotion, but still by itself. A wide-angled view of Vancouver and a big area to hang out or take peaceful walks along the small pier. I have been there plenty of times and it felt good to come there to calm down. It is such a lovely place to enjoy being outside at the water and watching the beautiful view of Vancouver.

Lonsdale Quay - Cultural Center
The Quay is an important place in North Vancouver. It stands as the 'primary social meeting center' , like a cornerstone. If you need to catch a certain bus connection, you go to the Quay. If you want to visit Vancouver, you go to the Quay and take the seabus. If you would like to hang out with your friends and grab a snack, you go to the Quay. If you feel like going to an exciting event, you go to the Quay and if you love beautiful views of Vancouver with a colorful sky, you go to the Quay and enjoy. I have made several memories at the Quay and it is one of my favorite places in North Vancouver, because it provides me with everything I need. I love the atmosphere people share with each other while visiting Lonsdale Quay.

Fall - North Vancouver
The fall in North Vancouver is incredibly beautiful. I'm born in august and I prefer the summer, but here, I have learned to love the fall. Walking around and seeing colors with a mix of red, orange, brown and green, autumn leaves laying everywhere on the wet ground, houses with impressive Halloween decoration, rainy days that make the city even more cozy and attractive and the sun that comes out sometimes to illuminate the buildings and trees in a golden light. This is what the autumn in North Vancouver is like and I realized once again how lucky I am to live here for ten months. This place is special. Even if it rains a lot this season. People keep calling it "Raincouver" and this description is definitely suitable. But it is like I said, I don't like the autumn and still fell in love with the fall here.

10.10 Thanksgiving - Giving Thanks
Thanksgiving is a day, where you value the important things in your life, like your family or the food that is given to you, by eating the big thanksgiving dinner, having a little chat or watching a movie afterwards. This day is a gift, because everyone shares their gratitude and starts realizing, how great the small and the usual things actually are.
I began to think about it and I started to realize that we should carry gratitude with us every day, because it is a duty. But it is also an emotion that we get to celebrate on Thanksgiving. "We are to be grateful in all things, not for all things." (Paul)

Living in a whole new environment changes your life. It leads you to various experiences and grows yourself. In the end your courage will be rewarded.
This is exactly how I felt making that decision to come to North Vancouver and stay here for ten months without knowing anything or anybody. I was scared to leave my old, familiar life behind and start an adventure, which will surely change my life in many ways. And now that I'm here, I feel the change and the development of my growth, because each day has new impressions waiting for me. "All because I jumped." (m)
