Post for Reggie's birthday
CW: Mentions of depressive thoughts and self harm
Muggle AU
****
Regulus felt like shit even before he opened his eyes. The sense of nausea and the strong headache hit him like a lightning strike. All he wanted was to stay in bed and buried his existance inside the blankets.
But maybe Regulus had to force himself to class. No, it was the weekend he was sure. Sunday, yes. That was good. He had an excuse not to do anything.
People shouldn't drink. Alcohol was dreaful. That was why Regulus prefered weed. He had drunk at parties but never to the point of having a hangover like this. It had all had been because Sirius had insisted...
Shit, the flashes of last night memories came back to Regulus. Drinking with Sirius at his hiding spot by the lake, walking through corridors he didn't even know that existed in the castle, getting really pissed, being dragged by Sirius into the Gryffindor Common Room, commenting how awful the decoration was and being silenced by his brother. Giggles, laughter, more giggles and laughter.
And of course, ending the night insulting James Potter, vomiting on the carpet inside his brother's dorm, and hugging Sirius begging for forgiveness.
Regulus sat up in bed, realizing this was not his. Red covers. Red walls, forgein posters around it, The Marauders read in a sign stuck to the door.
Regulus had slept inside a Gryffindor Dorm, specifically his brother's.
Then the pain in his head got stronger and he got dizzy. Regulus wished he was one of those people who forgot everything they did while drunk, because he was regretting every single decision that was detailed in his brain but it was as if someone else had done them.
Regulus was on Sirius's bed he assumed. He had his weird drawing stuck on the wall and it was the nearest the window. Sirius loved windows.
The other beds were empty (thank god) except for the one right in front with two boys cuddled very close to each other. Lupin and Reg's own brother. Sirius had left him his so he could sleep with Lupin.
Yes, he knew they were together despite the fact they tried to hide it for the rest of the world. But still Regulus didn't know what to feel about it. Not because Lupin was a boy, but because Lupin was one of the causes of all of their problems.
Regulus decided he needed to run. Better pretend last night never happened.
The Slytherin boy tried to be careful not to make any noise. He got out of bed and realized he was wearing Sirius's clothes. He shook away the brief and nice sensation of feeling protected. That was dangerous.
Regulus put some shoes on, at least he hoped they were his shoes, and tiptoed to the door. He cursed under his breath when the wooden floor creaked and Sirius woke up. He had always been a lightsleeper.
"Morning Reggie" he whispered.
Shit, Regulus was so close to the door. He faced defeat as Sirius yawned and stretched.
"I'm leaving"
Sirius silenced him with his finger and pointed at the sleeping boy next to him.
It was true that when Sirius got out of bed, Regulus was panicking. He had wanted to avoid comfrontation from his brother.
"How are you feeling?" Sirius whispered as he walked to him, cheeky smile on his face.
"Never drinking again" Reg whispered back.
Sirius shrugged still smiling "We all say that. We still continue drinking"
Though Regulus founded pointless. It just caused damage.
"The others?"
"James is probably in his morning excersice" Wanker "Peter might've gone for breakfast with the girls"
Regulus remembered the four of them had tried to get him to bed and babysit him like a freaking child who didn't want to sleep. How embarrassing.
"I should probably go" Regulus said awkwardly "I shouldn't be here"
Not exactly for the school rules. He stopped caring about them long time ago. It was something else.
"I had good time last night" Sirius's eyes were literally glowing. Reg was understanding why he ressembled a dog.
The truth was that Regulus had an excellent night. It had been years since the two brothers had spent time together. Not without fighting or yelling at each other. Regulus had let himself be dragged outside the castle, into the forest. Sirius showed him a secret place that looked to be taken out of a fairytale. Then Sirius had taken a bottle from under his shirt.
Regulus started drinking because Sirius had dared him. But as alcohol loosened them they had talked, and joked, and laughed and maybe confessed things. It had been fun.
Regulus had missed his brother so much. He had missed this. Actually he wasn't sure he had had it in the first place. That was why these moments were golden for Reg. Even if maybe Sirius was bored and lonely and he just needed company.
But Regulus couldn't admit it. If he did now, everything would crumble. And he might never see Sirius again. Or Sirius might hate him forever. Regulus's plan had to work.
"Me too" he confessed, but then he quickly added "It was irresponsible, though. It shouldn't have happened"
"Why?" Sirius asked "Doubt you care about teachers since you've been skipping classes and avoiding homework"
What Regulus hated the most about Lupin being his tutor was that he told his boyfriend everything.
"Who is the one talking? Heard you did the same"
Sirius shook his head.
"You can waste time and get drunk with Mulciber and the others but not your older brother?" Sirius crossed his arms.
"They are my friends"
They weren't. He was just pretending.
"Since when do you like those people? I mean Snivellus hangs with them"
"I don't say anything about your friends, Sirius!" Reg snapped.
"Yet you insulted each one of them last night" Sirius grinned "Especially James. You wanted to punch him"
Regulus really despised that twat. But he still was embarrassed.
"Gotta go" He walked to the door and opened it.
Sirius closed it before he could leave.
"I just want to understand something, Reg"
Regulus wanted to escape. He was vulnerable and hangover. Sirius was too intelligent to notice his brother was lying.
"You've changed" Sirius added "You don't hang out with Crouch anymore, but the most disgusting crowd in Slytherin"
Barty understood it was all part of his plan.
"You're a heartbreaker now" Sirius continued enlisting "You date two girls at the same time when before you haven't even been interested in them"
He wasn't interested. It all had been a confusion. He didn't know how to get rid of Alice. And despite what other people say, Pandora was just his friend. Well, kind of.
"You speak like a total twat now, like a spolied rich boy" Sirius tutted "You know who you are ressembling more and more? Father"
That was the plan. Orion needed to like Regulus better. He needed to accept his son as the new heir. And leave Sirius alone. Otherwise he was going to make his life miserable.
Regulus was trying hard not to cry like the whinny little boy he used to be. Like the depressed arsehole he was.
Sirius needed to believe it in order to work.
"This is not you, Reg"
"Maybe it is" Regulus snapped with arms crossed "What if this is me?"
Regulus sensed Lupin was moving in his sleep and if he woke up, Sirius would stop caring about his brother. Potter was first. Lupin was first. Sirius just felt guilty for what had happened and how he left.
If Sirius didn't care then why was Regulus doing all of this? It was his depressive side talking that wasn't able to shut up.
Regulus reached for the door again. Sirius stopped him.
"Are mother and father forcing you to do this?" Sirius asked with concern "Is mother?"
It ached the way Walburga was drowning herself and Regulus couldn't do anything about it. Sirius just hated her. Regulus wished he could hate her that easily. But he loved her so much it hurt, because she was awful. She was not easy to love.
"Leave mother out of this"
"She can be very manipulative, especially with you"
Regulus hated those kind of comments. Those made Regulus feel weak and hate himself more than he already did.
"Just let me go, Sirius"
But Sirius was on the door, practically blocking Regulus's exit, escape route.
"You don't have to turn you into the heir they want. Just like they tried to do with me"
"Someone has to take your place"
"It doesn't have to be you"
Regulus's heart was beating fast. He needed to get out. He needed air.
"Sirius, please just let me go"
"So what? You can let them turn you into something you're not?" Sirius was raising his voice. Regulus's eyes flickered to the bult on Lupin's bed.
"They. are. not. doing. that"
It was really difficult to breathe.
"So that you can be the heir and miserable for the rest of your life?" Sirius carried on "So you can be just like father and mother. Full of pretending appeareances and smiles. Both still married but hating each other. And craving more money like a drug even if they already have enough... Manipulating people's lives even their own kids's"
"Sirius, move!"
And Regulus was speaking loudly because he was panicking. He felt like he was dying. On the burst of a panic attack.
"I'm not letting you go so you can be miserable and depressive because of them!" Sirius yelled back "So you would do this again"
Sirius grabbed Regulus's arm and the boy understood.
He still had some scars from the incident back in summer. He took pills that numbed him so he hadn't done it again. Although Regulus had wanted to. He had needed it many times.
Regulus knew he had scarred Sirius with his doing. He was crying now, shaking with fear. That was it.
Sirius was worried Regulus would hurt himself again. It was guilt and worry. Not love. Not like the one he felt for his precious Marauders.
"What's going on?"
Lupin was already awake, looking between the two brothers with concern. Regulus didn't know if Sirius had told him about summer, but he suspected Lupin had been awake a long time ago and he probably had overheard them.
If not, Sirius's tears would probably give it away.
"Moony..." he mumbled under his breath.
Regulus was already furious. He ripped his arm away.
"Very mature, Sirius"
He pushed his brother away from the door saying "Let me go" and opened it.
Sirius didn't stop him this time. He was crying.
"And don't worry" Reg added before leaving "I'm not going to kill myself"
Regulus said it because he knew it would hurt his brother the most. Then he slammed the door closed behind him. Lupin would figure it out anyway.
Regulus heard perfectly the way his brother yelled, cursed and banged the door from the other side. That was Sirius, pure fury.
This was better. If Regulus became the heir, Sirius could have the happy life he wanted. Live with his new family, date his boyfriend and do whatever he liked.
Regulus could take the burden. He was dead anyway.

It had always been complicated between James and Lily. At first they simply couldn't get along. Because James loved mischief and Lily loved maintaining the rules.
For James, Lily was this annoying teachers pet that ruined his and his friend's fun.
For Lily, James was this insufferable trouble maker who thought he could do anything just because he had money and had been spoiled all his life.
When they were fourteen and boys started noticing girls, James noticed Lily. Her hair was longer, it was lose and not in those braids, she had no braces anymore and her body had developed. She had a nice pair of boobs that had definitely grown.
James thought Lily was beautiful. He commented something to his friends and they all laughed at him reminding him who he was talking about (they hated her) plus she hated them back, especially James, so she would never give him a chance.
As a dumb fourteen year old he took it as a challenge. The first time he asked her out, he was rejected with a piece of cake into his face. Lily knew he was only doing it to show off and prove something to his friends.
But James didn't give up and he tried to gain her attention in a dumb way. Always getting negative answers from Lily.
When they were fifteen, Lily's father had an accident that prevented him from walking again. When James found out he tried to say something nice but Lily cut him off, and yelled at him to leave her alone. It was fair since she was going through a difficult time.
James stopped asking her out, talking to her. He knew he hadn't been a saint with her. But he was angry. Mostly at himself for making her hate him.
James dated other girls. And even if they kept bickering all the time about random stuff, James stopped bothering her.
But he couldn't stop thinking about her, and what she had said about him. That he was arrogant, selfish, a bully, a bad person. James didn't want to be that kind of person.
Lily was this beautiful girl that had put him in his place. It wasn't only innocent bickering between them. She hated him and that hurt James. It bothered him more than it should.
James tried to be nice but he always ended up messing it up, with Lily ending up angry or annoyed at him. James wanted to die.
When they were sixteen, out of the sudden, Lily Evans started seeing another boy. Bruce, Brook, Logan... Whatever his name was.
"Hey, who is that bloke?" James asked his friends casually.
They were in the Common Room doing homework or attempting to but getting distracted. Sirius was drawing something. Remus was reading smiling occasionally at Sirius's drawings. And Peter was trying not to fall asleep. James was looking at a scene he didn't want to.
"What bloke?" Peter asked looking around.
James shrugged. Like he didn't care.
"The one talking with Evans"
They all turned to look.
"Luke Gardener" Remus answered, eyes still on his book "Seventh year Ravenclaw. Lots of girls think he is cute..." Then he blinked, flushing a little "So I've heard"
James clenched his teeth. He had never seen this boy or heard about him before. Where did he come from?
"Looks like Evans has a boyfriend" Sirius teased.
"They are not dating, right?" James asked Remus who was the closest to Evans.
The boy shook his head "Lily told me they are just friends but it is clear the lad wants more"
James wanted to punch something. He started moving his leg.
"What's wrong, Prongs?" Peter asked "Are you jealous? I thought you were over her"
"Wormy! It is Penny Prefect Evans" Sirius said it like it was a bad thing "Prongs was never into her"
She was laughing with him. What were they laughing about? And she was blushing. She looked beautiful blushing. Why didn't she blush with him?
It was the beautiful sight of a non angry Lily, a very friendly and flirty Lily that made James want that. It was the way that bloke was making her laugh and talk without yelling or rolling her eyes that made James realise he couldn't never have that.
"It was all a laugh, right?" Sirius added with his eyebrow up.
Then it hit James, like a punch in the stomach, leaving him out of air. It was not a laugh. He was definitely not laughing now.
He wanted to go over there, grab Bruce's collar and tell him to leave Evans alone. Then, he wanted to shake her off until she realised how much he cared, how good of a person he could be. Beg her for another chance.
"Shit!" James said out loud.
His friends looked at him with concern because he had yelled a little.
"What?" Peter asked.
"I fancy Lily Evans"
Peter chuckled "Big news! You've asked out all through fourth year"
"You're just pissed that Gardener there is getting to Evans so easily, something that you couldn't do"
James was pissed because Sirius was being an arsehole.
"I really like her, okay!?" He announced sounding rather angry "For real this time...." he sighed "And she really hates me, doesn't she?"
The boys didn't need to answer for James to realise it was true. Lily Evans hated him. She would never feel the same. James had lost her for being immature. An immature dick.
Now Bryan or whatever was taking his chance.
James rose to his feet. He tried to hide how devastating he looked but failed.
"I'm gonna take a shower upstairs" he announced.
The Marauders were still looking at him with pity.

james and lily.
james and lily, who will abruptly stop talking to eachother and just look at one another- and then burst out laughing
james and lily, who tease eachother by calling eachother obnoxious pet names, like- “poppet” “sweetums” “honey pie” and laugh about it while their friends look at them, weirded out, because, we knew they were an obnoxious couple, but, wow. (sirius is laughing along with them, because any joke james makes is always hilarious to him)
james and lily, who play a mean game of wizards chess, sometimes going on for hours, and always inevitably end up in kissing
^ james and lily, who have study sessions together, and while they do get work done, it always ends in making out. what can they say?
lily, who braves the morning cold to watch james practice abnormally early on the quidditch pitch
james, who knows by heart how lily takes her tea; detail oriented james who remembers everything about lily
james, who, upon kissing lily for the first time, DEFINITELY popped his foot. yeah. he did.

Lily's sweet laugh filled the silence with a delicate warmth. James was falling for this laugh. It sounded more genuine than the others he had heard from her at school. He had the hope she was being open and showing more of her true self with him.
"Is it really this late?" Lily asked "We've been talking for almost three hours"
James couldn't stop grinning. Hours? What was time if he could do this for lifetimes. Talking with Lily over the phone was his new favourite activity. He didn't want to hear anything but her sweet voice from now on.
"Really?" James checked his watch. Was it really 2 a.m? "It hasn't felt like it"
"No ..."
"I guess time flies when you are having fun"
James was aware all that Lily wanted was a friendship. But he couldn't help but fall just a little bit more in love with her as he got to know her. This summer had been about long phone calls, funny texts and random pictures. They didn't fight anymore. They got along and James teased her. And Lily told him things.
They were just friends.
Although James climbed the mountain of hope sometimes then came back to reality where he was a good friend and he would never push Lily.
Asking her out once again, now that he meant it could ruin things between them.
"I guess I didn't bore you then"
"Maybe passed the first hour but I have nothing better to do" James teased.
Lily gasped "Hey!"
"You could never bore me, Evans"
James could feel Lily's smile at the other end of the line.
"I should go to sleep" she said "The girls and I have big plans tomorrow. Something about thrift shopping"
"Sounds like fun!"
"Yeah I'm enjoying the beach with The McKinnon's"
As someone who spent many summers at the McKinnon's beach house, James got it.
"Well I should go back too before my mum or Sirius come and drag me inside"
He had been lying on the bench by the pool. Watching the stars. Wasn't it romantic?
Well Sirius more likely would come find him since he counted on having James by his side when he woke up from a nightmare. Those happened a lot since he left his twisted family.
Lily giggled softly.
"Oh, Okay..."
"Okay..."
"Okay..."
"Okay..."
Then something that James would describe as magical happened. They both stayed quiet, hearing each other's breath. And it wasn't awkward at all. In fact, James felt like none of them wanted to leave.
James hoped Lily was smiling like a fool just like he was. An idiot in danger of falling in love. No. It had already happened. He had been bunkers for Evans for a long time.
Lily let out a soft chuckle. James smirked more.
"Hey, Evans?"
"Yeah, Potter?"
"I've never wanted to go back to school this badly"
"Why?" Lily teased "Do you miss McGonagall? Or maybe Filch?"
"I can't wait to see you again"
And maybe be bold and try to steal a kiss from her? A man could only dream.
"Goodbye Potter" James was pleased to hear the smile in her voice.
"Bye Evans"
After he hung up, James spent a long time smiling into the dark.

Lily saw James so excited as he fought with Sirius about who was riding that new bike of his first. Hell, it sounded fun.
They were suppossed to do dumb stuff like that. They were suppossed to be at the peak of their youth. James liked working with his parents and preparing himself for a Rugby scholarship next year. Lily was doing great at Uni. She loved it. They were nineteen. They partied and had fun with their friends. They spent all weekend at Remus and Sirius's flat like it was their home. These were the years they would remember most when they were older.
Lily observed how handsome her boyfriend looked with that bright smile of his, without any worry in the world. So vibrant and beautiful.
James didn't know Lily was about to ruin his life.
She hadn't been able to sleep since she discovered she was pregnant.
God! She was pregnant at nineteen. She was very scared, she didn't know what to do, she didn't know how to tell James.
"Lils?"
A gentle touch on her shoulder made her come back to reality. James was standing in front of her expecting something from her. Sirius and Remus were behind him, also observing her.
"Ha?"
"I asked if you wanted to give it a try with me"
Lily tried to fake a smile.
"Sorry what?"
"Jamie..." James pointed to the vehicle behind him "Sirius's bike? Do you want a ride?"
"She doesn't because Lily appreciates her life" Remus protested, crossing his arms.
"The ginger is not boring, Moony! It is fun!" Sirius said "You loved it"
"Sure! Best thing I've ever done!" Remus answered sarcastically.
James cracked a laugh. Lily never wanted to ruin how joyful he was.
"Plus Prongs, you don't even know how to ride" Remus added.
"I just taught him the basics!" Sirius protested.
"Pads just taught me the basics!" James repeated.
Remus rolled his eyes in surrender. Lily was still slowly panicking.
"Come on, babe..."
Lily was so in love that she would follow James anywhere just to make him happy.
"I can't..." But she couldn't do risky things, a baby was growing inside of her "I don't feel very well"
Lily was trying hard not to cry in front of them. She had to be chill.
Although James knew her very well and he immediately got worried.
"Are you okay, beautiful? What do you feel? Want me to get you anything?"
Lily shook her head.
"I'm just dizzy..." she was actually. James raised an eyebrow "Didn't sleep much last night"
Which was true considering they went out.
James looked worried still, so Lily was trying to give him her best smile.
"Come on, Prongsie" Sirius said, getting on the bike "Let's go together. You can squeeze my back if you're scared, darling" he winked.
Lily wondered how reckless Sirius would react. Lily knew there was a part of him that hated her for presumably stealing his best friend away. A baby would change things. James would need to prioritize the baby and Sirius would hate that.
Right now, James was still looking at Lily with concern.
"Go with Sirius" Lily said with a smile "I'll be fine. Go and have fun"
"Come on Prongsie" Sirius insisted "Your girlfriend is just hungover like the rest of us"
"She didn't even drink last night"
She had claimed she was taking some antibiotics for a past flue that she made up.
"He's right" Lily said "It is the lack of sleep"
"I'll stay with her, Prongs" Remus added "Go or Pads won't leave you alone"
Sirius just winked in response.
James took a deep breath and suprised Lily with a passionate kiss. As always her heart started beaiting fast. She loved him. She didn't want this to ruin them.
"I love you" he said afterwards.
Lily swallowed her tears.
"Love you too"
James turned to Remus.
"Take care of her"
"Yes, sir" Remus nodded.
The tall boy stood next to Lily as their boyfriends got comfortable on the bike.
"Don't worry Evans" Sirius said before putting his helmet on "He'll be back to ride you anytime soon"
James chuckled, hitting Sirius's back. "Wanker"
Lily was relieved when he put his own helmet on. He winked at her and her stomach did a flip.
James was still looking at her as they rode away, making a loud noise and leaving the garage full of smoke.
Then Lily heard both of them yelling of joy at the top of their lungs as they made their distance. That made her smile.
"Are you sure you're okay, Lils?" Remus asked her when they were gone.
Remus was another person who knew her well. They had been hangover together. Remus wasn't stupid, he knew there was something going on. But even if Lily considered him one of her best friends, she had to tell James first.
"Yeah" she faked another smile "Just tired"
"Want to go inside and have some tea while we cuddle and watch a nice movie?"
God, she really loved Remus as well. And this pegnancy was getting her sentimental. But she couldn't cry in front of him.
"Sounds good" she nodded.
Remus put a protective arm around her as they walked inside. Lily rested her head on his shoulder. He smelled like chocolate and something similar to her father's cologne. Lily wanted to be vulnerable and be protected by him right now.
Later, she'll have to talk to James.

Sirius loved Harry since the day he was born. It was kind of funny since he hated the idea of James being a parent at first. Too young, he thought. Sirius panicked about how this was going to change his best friend. No more pranks, no more fun. If Evans was dragging him already, Sirius didn't want to know what a baby would do.
But when Sirius held that tiny baby in his arms, he felt something indescribable that made him sob. Harry was so tiny and fragile. He was beautiful and innocent. Sirius wanted nothing but to protect him.
He had loved his brother, his friends and Remus. But he hadn't loved someone like he loved that kid.
As Harry grew they became closer. Sirius, being the cool Uncle, the favourite Uncle. Sirius loved spending time with him more than any of the friend group, more than Harry's actual Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia.
But his love for Harry didn't stop there. And there were lots of moments in which he just couldn't be. James and Lily were Harry's parents after all. As much as they loved to include Sirius, he knew there was some part of Harry he couldn't have and some love from Harry that he couldn't expect.
Sirius and Harry had a special connection. The boy adored him more than anyone else. But Sirius wasn't and would never be his father.
That was why he jumped when he saw James come out of that hospital room. He hadn't been moving his leg so fast that Remus placed him hand there to calm him down.
"How is he? Is he alright? Can I see him?"
James smiled "Relax Pads, he is okay. Just a minor injury"
"Hey James"
"Hiya Moony!"
Sirius knew. James had calmed in over the phone. But still Sirius wouldn't stop shaking until he saw that Harry was okay.
It had been an accident while playing. He fell out of bed while bouncing from the bed to the couch. The little boy hit the floor and cried.
"If everything is okay, then why are we in the hospital?"
"Lily and I wanted to make sure he didn't get a concussion. He hit his head and it bled..."
Sirius's heart started beating fast.
"What?...and?"
James raised his head "Calm down. Doctor said everything was okay"
"Okay! I want to see him"
Sirius was ready to cross the door but James stopped him.
"Sorry Pads, he's getting stitches" James said "Only Lily and I are allowed"
Of course. The parents.
Sirius started moving his leg nervously again. James noticed. He put his hand on his shoulder.
"I'll let you know as soon as it is done"
Sirius faked a smile.
"Okay, thanks"
Harry was fine. He repeated himself. Harry was fine. He was in good hands.
"Thank you for coming" James smiled before getting inside again.
Sirius wanted to be able to be there with them. He loved the three of them so much that he deserved to be there.
Sometimes he wanted to break the rules and be considered part of the family. Not just their side friend. Why wouldn't they let Harry's Uncle too if he loved him as much as his parents? Wasn't that enough?
Sirius was still shaking when James closed the door.
"Told you he was fine" Remus's sweet voice said behind him.
Remus didn't understand because he didn't love Harry the way he did. Sure they all loved him, they all cared for the boy. But Sirius loved him in a different way.
"Sirius..."
Sirius turned not caring anymore if Remus saw his tears. But he couldn't hide how scared he had been when James called saying Harry had had an accident.
"I would die if something happened to that boy, Moony"
Remus wrapped his arms around him immediately.
"He's okay, Pads"
"I know"
Sirius wouldn't be calm until he saw it with his own eyes.

When James had many things in his brain that he couldn't deal with he called only one person for advice. His mum.
People used to say he felt things too much and he was too dramatic. He was the kind of person to spot a problem, talk about it, find a solution and move on. He had managed to help his friends before. He was satisfied when they smiled in relief after a problem.
With time, it became harder to fix things. Or even harder to make his friends talk.
Right now, on top of many things in his brain like school, Headboy duties, Rugby, his father being sick, his relationship with Lily (the girl of his dreams), and the leaving the Marauders legacy to his minions, James was aware of other issues.
Sirius was a mess since he left The Blacks over the summer but pretended he was okay.
Sirius didn't talk to him like he used to.
They had gotten distant but Sirius was closer to Remus.
He knew now they were doing more than hanging since he saw them kissing the other day.
They didn't know he knew.
Remus was skipping classes because Sirius asked him. They smoked a lot already but they included weed when they mysteriously disappeared.
On top of that Peter was not okay. He barely ate but pretended it was not a big deal.
James knew Peter felt lonely and secretly blamed them for his breakup with Susan.
Maybe his crush on Mary was more than a crush.
Sirius hadn't told him things and he was not okay and James didn't know how to be there for him anymore and that was killing him.
He missed Sirius. He missed the Marauders.
Why didn't they hang out anymore?
"You know how The Marauders used to be close?" James told his mum over the phone. He missed his parents too.
"Yeah..."
"Well, we are not close anymore!" He was pacing around the dorm "Sirius and Remus are... doing their own things..." he couldn't tell their secret to his mum "Not quite productive things, I may add. I feel like Sirius is in the destructive mood. And I know the things he had gone through with his family. Not detailed because he didn't tell me, his best friend, he told you. But still it feels like he is a ticking bomb that will explode any second. I know he is sad, I know it. And Remus is there but he is too good to tell Sirius what is wrong. I should be there giving him advice and containing him but he doesn't let me. I want to be there for him, mum!"
"Oh honey..."
"And Peter, don't get me started with Peter. He is stubborn as it gets. He looks so lonely and I want him to feel special within The Marauders again. But is there any left? Are we a group again? Are we going to stop being friends forever?"
"James..."
"Remus is a good kid. He is part of the family at this point. But he had gone through so much, mum. Bullying and feeling different. We've gotten along better because he had helped me with Lily. And he listens. He listens about Lily and my problems which is fine. And I understand why Sirius would confine in him and not me. But why doesn't he trust me? I don't want to get jealous of Remus but maybe I am. What if I am, would that make me a bad person?"
"Bloody hell, James!" Effie exclaimed with a soft laugh.
"Sorry, was that too much?"
"I can feel the breeze you're provoking with your pacing from over the phone"
James stopped pacing, but he moved his leg.
"What do I do?" he asked "I miss my friends. I love my friends"
"Have you talked to them?"
"I've tried..." James sighed "They certainly think I am too intense sometimes"
"They don't think that"
"Peter literally said I'm intense the other day" James moaned "He used that word"
Effie was giggling on the phone which made James smile. He needed his mum so badly sometimes. Embarrassing for a seventeen-year-old, but true. Effie and Monty used to be the only people he told things. His best friends.
"James, darling" Effie said carefully "You know it's not your responsability to fix everything, right?"
"I know but I want to" James bit his lip "I just want to see the people that I love be okay"
"Honey, sometimes what people need is space" Effie added "And not all problems are fixable"
James took a deep breath. He wanted another kind of answer from his mother. Something optimistic like he was doing well and with the right amount of love, people were going to be happy.
"Do... you... am..." God, he had tears in his eyes already. He wanted to feel Effie's soft arms around him and smell her sweet perfume "Do ypu think they miss me as much as I do? Do you think they care? The Marauders are crumbling down"
"Jamie, you're growing up" his mother said "You boys will have more complex problems, and life is going to get difficult..."
"Well thanks..."
"And sometimes you might not be together or spend as much time as you used to"
James thought of the years to come, away from Hogwarts, each one of them living a different life. Was he going to lose them?
"That doesn't mean you stopped being friends"
"I want The Marauders back, I miss them"
Though that sounded immature. What did he want exactly? Pranks, jokes, immature bullying to others? He swore not to be that way anymore.
"This is hurting me. I wish I could tell them"
"Why don't you?"
"Like I said, mum. They have their stuff going on. They are not okay. And I have to be strong for them. I can't crumble. They need me. I need to think about them. Especially Sirius"
"You're golden, sweety" Effie sighed "But what about you? Who thinks about you? Or takes care of you?"
His immediate answer would be them, his parents. But he was not a little boy anymore.
"Your feelings are important" Effie carried on "Maybe if you talk to them and tell them how you feel, what worries you, they might take you in consideration..."
James was just about to cry when Sirius and Remus walked into the room giggling about something. Red eyes, they had been smoking again. Swollen lips, they had been probably snogging.
"You cannot help them if you are not happy, love"
"Amm... Okay, thanks mum, gotta go"
James hated it but he hung up before Effie asked to speak to Sirius. He couldn't bare Sirius telling her things again but not him.
"Hey!" he gave them a big smile "Where were you?"
"Around" Sirius shrugged. James wanted him to look him in the eye.
"By the lake" Remus clarified "Is a nice night"
"Was that Effie on the phone?" Sirius asked walking to his bed.
"Sure, she says hi" James answered quickly "And Pete?"
Both boys shrugged. They weren't aware of where they friends were anymore.
"So what did you guys do?"
It was obvious the quick glance between them and the complicent smile. James was no stupid.
"Amm... Chatted" Remus said "Not much"
Sirius nodded in agreement.
"Did you smoke weed?"
Sirius and Remus looked at each other and cracked a laugh. James tried not to be jealous of how they communicated so easily. He was thinking that Remus knew more about Sirius than him. And he hated that.
"Are you my father, Prongsie?" Sirius rolled his eyes. He crumbled into bed making a soft moan.
"We didn't smoke much" Remus clarified sitting on his own bed.
James bit his inner lip. He was worried.
"Okay..." he faked a giggle "Are you doing homework now? It is late"
Sirius whined, covering his face with the pillow. Like he was annoyed of his suppossed best friend.
"Give me a break, Potter" Sirius said under it "Pete is right, you're so intense sometimes"
James tried hard not to get offended.
Remus gave him a pitiful smile.
"I'll make sure he does homework, don't worry Prongs"
"Okay..."
James was trying to act chill. But all the things in his brain felt like he was going to explode.
He wanted to leave it be. But the voice of his mother inside his brain told him to talk.
"When Peter is here, I want to talk to all of you"
Remus raised an eyebrow. Sirius groaned.
"About?"
"Feelings"
Sirius scoffed.
"Bloody hell, Potter" he snapped, getting the pillow away and looking good with his hair all messy. "Are you a girl or something?"
"Sirius..." Remus tutted.
James ignored him.
"The Marauders are in crisis" he declared "So sober up and when Peter arrives, we'll talk" Sirius was about to protest but James stopped him "Whether you like it or not, Black!"
James walked to the loo hearing all Sirius's mumbling about how he was insane.
But James was determined. He had fixed them before. He was going to fix The Marauders again.

Narcisa woke up to screams. It has been happening a lot lately. Bella and Andy were bickering about something again out in the hall.
Narcisa remembered they used to be so close. Sure they were always bickering around the house. About stupid stuff like them stealing each other's clothes or how loud they were playing the music or about which Jonas Brother was better.
This time it seemed different.
Cissy was used to Bella and Andy having a special connection because they were twins and they shared more things. But the three of them were close. It had been the first year of them being apart for too long. Narcisa, coming back for school and the twins, going to University.
She had missed her sisters that she considered best friends. The year had been rough for her and her relationship with Lucius. She had felt so alone.
Narcisa hoped to have her sisters back. She wasn't prepared to find them so changed and weird when she came back home for the summer.
All they did was fight, have long conversations only through deep stares and lie to Narcisa. They treated her like a little girl who didn't deserve to know the truth.
"Why would you do that, Bellatrix?? All you said to daddy were lies! You are playing with someone's life, with someone's future!"
Narcisa tiptoed to the door to listen better. She had never heard Andromeda that angry.
"I just told daddy the truth" Bella spat "The bloke is dangerous, he almost punched Rab the other day"
Dangerous? Who were they talking about?
"Because Rabastan deserved it"
"And he is sickly obsessed with you, Andy" Bella added "Don't you think I've noticed how he stares at you like he wants to rip your clothes off..."
Narcisa went through the list of her sisters' friends. Maybe they were talking about something they knew from Uni. Someone Narcisa didn't know.
"Bella, he's going to lose his job!" Andromeda begged "Daddy is going to make sure of that. And he needs the job to maintain his family. His parents depend on that money..."
"How the hell do you know that?"
Narcisa heard the silence that made Andromeda's nervousness very obvious. She was defending someone. Someone Bella definitely didn't like.
"I heard him mentioning it..."
Bellatrix snorted.
"I know what you're doing, sis. And that's dangerous territory. You know that"
"That's not it.." Andy sounded nervous "It's about doing what's right..."
"What's right is getting that creep out of our lives.. "
"You're so mean, Bella. We have everything and he's just trying to live his life..."
Bella was giggling softly. That giggle that Narcisa knew she used to make people feel bad about themselves.
"You and your friends are always making fun of him..."
"They are your friends too!" Bella chanted.
Andy ignored her "I am sick of us acting like stupid rich kids and taking it out on someone that doesn't deserve it"
"That's what he told you?" Bella asked shutting up her sister "Come on, Andromeda. You are sounding like him. Did he convince you he is the victim and we are the bad guys?" Bella scoffed "Now suddenly he's the poor little victim..."
Narcisa recognised the way in which Bella was referring to this person. She had used the same mocking tone and the same venom voice on people she used to hate at school. Usually girls that went after Rod. Her lifetime crush.
What Bella said was law for the Black Sisters. Andy and Cissy hated whoever she hated and liked whoever she liked. Even if they didn't know more than their names.
This time Andromeda was talking about this boy or man like she knew him. Like he was a long time friend or maybe something more.
"Why do you hate him so much, Bella?"
"BECAUSE HE WANTS TO TAKE YOU AWAY FROM ME AND I AM NOT GOING TO LET HIM!"
The way Bellatrix yelled shocked Narcisa. She sounded furious. She decided it was best to intervene before Bella lost control.
Carefully, the youngest sister opened the door. And stepped out to the hall. Andromeda and Bellatrix were facing each other like rabid dogs. Andy had tears in her eyes.
For a second, Cissy feared this was something they couldn't fix.
"What's going on?" She asked softy.
Her two sisters turned surprised to find her there.
"Nothing Cissy" Bellatrix faked a smile "A dumb fight but we'll fix it"
Although Andromeda did her best to avoid Bella's gaze.
"I'm not stupid" Narcisa crossed her arms. "I know something is up. You do nothing but fight since I arrived"
They both looked guilty.
"Andy just has to remember what side she's on"
Bella tried touching her sister's hair, but Andy pushed her hand away furiously. Narcisa flinched. They never treated each other like this.
Andromeda walked towards Narcisa who was frozen.
"Sorry, Cissy" she smiled but with tears in her eyes.
Then walked passed her into her room. Slammed the door closed.
Narcisa now had the urge to cry. She turned to her bigger sister for answers.
"Who were you talking about?" she asked "Is Andy dating someone?"
Bella twisted her red lips in disgust.
"You don't have to worry about it, love. I'll take care of it"
"Take care of what?"
"Andromeda's mistake"
"A bloke she fancies?"
Andromeda never showed signs of liking a boy before. It was Bella's obsession with Rod and Cissy's story with her boyfriend Lucius. Andromeda had no one.
"A disgusting grub"
"Stop being vague, Bella" Cissy whined "I'm not a little girl anymore"
Bellatrix smirked "Oh Cissy. You think just because you'll give your V-card to Malfoy that you're a big girl?"
Actually losing her virginity with the boy she loved was a big step that had cost her to make the decision. Lucius insisted on the matter and she knew that other girls could give what he wanted easily. She didn't want to lose Lucius because she was scared. She had told her sisters she would do it over the summer when she stayed over The Malfoy Mannor for a few days.
Bella was walking closer like a predator making Cissy back away.
"Andy is in her rebel phase" Bella explained "It had to happen at some point to our goodie goodie sister, right? She'll get over it"
Bella got close enough to touch Cissy's hair and put it behind her ear.
"Just stay out of it and I will make sure Andy is back to her usual boring self soon, okay?" she added "Now go back to sleep and have sweet dreams about Malfoy's small dick"
Narcisa almost rolled her eyes. She was tired of being left out. She hated this. She wanted to go back to how things used to be between them. Sisters forever. Best friends forever.
She was going to find out who was this bloke and why he was ruining the sisterhood. And then Cissy was going to kill him.
Andromeda couldn't choose a random boy over her sisters, right?
"And I'm the immature one, eh Bella?"
Bella giggled as Cissy walked back to her room.
"Love you, Cissy"
"Me too"
Narcisa stopped at her door.
"Promise things will go back to like they were before?" She asked pouting "The three of us against the world?"
Bella smirked showing her white teeth between her red lips.
"Promise"

Remus gave Sirius a quick smile as he entered to the bathroom.
"Good morning, Moony" Sirius winked, provoking the usual butterflies he had been having for the boy lately.
Remus felt like he was in the clouds. Even if he looked ridiculous with his toothbrush in his mouth. It was too early and Remus probably looked horrid and sleepy.
He waved in response because he couldn't speak as he brushed his teeth. But he noticed every movement Sirius made. He couldn't be human with how gorgeous he looked in the mornings. He hadn't even showered and he looked perfect.
Sirius stared at his reflexion in the little mirror. Remus took advantage to take a nice look at him. He was grateful that Sirius slept only in boxers, exposing his back muscles and firm arms. Remus took a discreet look at him bum perfectly seen with that tight underwear. God, he was drooling.
Remus spat in the sink before drool fell from his mouth. When he looked up, Sirius was tighting up his hair in a bun. And that's when Remus saw it.
Right there in Sirius's neck. A very large purple bruise.
Remus touched Sirius's arm to gain his attention.
"What the hell is that?" he pointed to Sirius's neck.
Clueless, the boy looked at his reflection and he gasped when he noticed the bruise too.
"Holy shit!"
"Is that..."
Sirius nodded "Yeah..."
Remus had been snogging the hell out of his best friend for the past two weeks. They had kept it hidden from everyone else. Because for Sirius it was just a casual thing and he wasn't ready to admit he kissed boys. Remus was irrevocably in love with Sirius. So he had been pretending this was something casual to have fun when everytime he kissed Sirius he felt his knees weak, his whole body had goosebumps and all his brain screamed was: "Mine, mine, mine!"
Remus wanted Sirius for more. But he was taking the little he had been given.
Now he might've carried away with the neck kissing inside the stock room the other day. But God, the sounds Sirius was making were so sexy that Remus just wanted to keep going.
Remus blinked "Did... I... do...that...?"
"Well..." Sirius tried touching it carefully "You're the only that had gone near my neck lately"
Good. He didn't want to share him.
Remus leaned closer to take a look. He was surprised.
"I swear I didn't know I would leave you bruised" he commented, lowering his voice of course "I haven't given hickeys to a single soul before. I don't even know how it is done!"
Sirius was surprised as well, inspecting the injury as if it was the first time he had seen one.
"Well, don't look at me, Moony! This is your fault!" he smiled.
It was Sirius's fault for being so delicious to kiss. Remus smiled back.
"Is it too noticeable?" he asked.
"Nah" Remus lied. What have he done?
Sirius had asked for discreation and Remus had kissed him with such force that people would say he had done it intentionally.
"Hey lads, good morning!" James came into the loo with his usual morning enthusiasm. Sweaty because of his morning excersice.
It was too late for Sirius to cover his bruise cause James saw it.
"What the hell, Sirius?" he moved Sirius's hands away "Is that a hickey?" and he laughed amused.
It kind of screwed Remus's comment. However, hell. The bruise was noticeable on Sirius's pale skin. Anyone with a pair of eyes would see it. It was practically waving saying "hello, look at me".
"It's huge!" James exclaimed as he inspected it "Who gave it to you?"
Sirius and Remus looked at each other in panic. Actually, Sirius looked irritated, trying to cover it away from James's eyes.
Sirius pushed James away "It is not a hickey, Prongs!" he moaned "I... Fell on the shower the other day..."
James chuckled "Yeah right"
Remus knew no one would buy that story. It was stupid if it clearly looked like a hickey. Besides, how could Sirius fall to get that bruise? Shit, they were screwed.
Peter also joined the party.
"Why is everyone in the loo?" he whined "I feel left out"
Don't say it, James. Remus thought.
"Sirius has a big hickey on his neck and he doesn't want to tell us who is the lucky girl"
Remus was not exactly a girl. But hell, he was indeed lucky.
Peter opened his mouth and leaned in to inspect it.
"Bloody hell!" Peter exclaimed "What was she doing, kissing you or sucking the hell out of you?"
Remus looked to the floor. He was sure he had his cheeks on fire.
"It is not a hickey!" Sirius seemed annoyed. He loved being the spotlight but right now he looked uncomfortable "I fell and hit myself, okay?"
James and Peter looked between each other and began laughing. Remus faked a smile when Peter's eyes got a glimpse of him.
"Moony, tell them I am telling the truth" Sirius crossed his arms, and raised an eyebrow.
Remus knew what he had to do. They had made a pact to keep their thing a secret.
"Yeah. I was there" he nodded "I mean I heard him scream and ran here to aid him"
Of course, because they couldn't share a shower.
"It was like three days ago?"
The same day Remus kissed the hell out of Sirius's neck.
"Yeah" Sirius agreed "See?"
James and Peter stopped laughing. Although they looked like they didn't believe a word.
"You don't have to cover him, Moony" James said, shaking his head.
"I'm not!" but he used that particular tone he used when it was obvious he was lying.
"You lucky dog!" James elbowed Sirius's arm.
"So lucky" Peter sighed like he was envious of Sirius.
"You can tell us if you have a new girl" James added, smiling at his best friend "Who is she? Is she too shy to meet us?"
"Do you think someone shy would do that to someone?" Peter pointed at Sirius's neck.
"You know what they say about shy girls..."
"Oh my god, have you shagged her?"
This was not only awkward for the fact that it had been Remus who they were talking about. But also because they assumed it was a girl. Because that was what Sirius was looking for. A pretty girl. If a real girl had done that, Sirius wouldn't hide it. He had talked about girls before. He hadn't been shy about details of his snogging adventures. When he did that, Remus always got away before he puked.
Sirius wasn't saying anything because he was embarrassed of Remus. And it was okay, they weren't anything really. So what was there to tell?
"Honestly" Sirius spat, rolling his eyes "You're so bloody annoying. I told you I hurt myself when I fell"
Sirius gave Remus a quick look. So quick only they noticed. Then he walked away, pushing his friends out of his way.
James was giggling. Peter was shaking his head. The second Sirius was out of their reach, they turned to Remus for answers.
The mystery is me. Remus wanted to say. I did that to him. I'm pretty sure I made him see stars by the way he was sighing and grunting.
Remus had been proud at the moment. But he had left a mark.
"I don't know anything. So don't ask" That was what he said as he shrugged.
Then he left before they could ask something more.
As he walked away, Remus heard them discussing all the possible girls that could have left that mark.
"Alecto?"
"No, she's not that kind of girl"
"Mary is that kind of girl"
"She is not into Sirius. Never was"
"Maybe it is a new girl" Peter suggested "Someone older"
"We are seventh-years, Peter. Only teachers are older" James then gasped "You don't think that he..."
"Snogging a teacher? Who knows?"
"That's disgusting!" James whined and Peter giggled "Sirius would never..."
Remus couldn't listen to more. They would never guess.
And the boys didn't drop the subject for the rest of the morning. They kept pointing at random girls and asking if they were the one. Sirius told them to fuck off.
Sirius wore a scarf everywhere and got away with others not noticing (thank god), until they got to Math Class that afternoon.
"Mr. Black" Slughorn was a wanker when he wanted "You know the school rules. Scarf off"
"It is the one from the uniform, professor" Sirius grunted.
"Not for the classroom"
"But I'm chilly!"
"Then use a sweater, Mr. Black" Slughorn put his hands on his pockets "We are inside a classroom. Scarf is for outdoors... Are we outdoors, Mr. Black?"
Remus heard him mumble an insult to their teacher.
"What was that?"
"I said no, sir"
"Then take it off!"
Sirius clenched his teeth but he obeyed. The moment the bruise was exposed, many students gasped.
The room went into a chaos as they heard murmurs, giggles and whistles. On the other hand, Slughorn was purple. It would have been funny if Remus wasn't nervously sweating. He could feel eyes on him even if they weren't seeing him but the boy next to him. Nobody could know it had been him.
"Having late night fun, eh Black?" Mulciber joked.
"Save some for us or at least share..." Avery added with a laugh.
Some girls told them they were disgusting. Sirius kept silent, only looking at his hands.
"That's enough!" Slughorn snapped furiously, silencing the class "Mr. Black!!"
"Yes, professor?"
"Go to Madam Pomfrey and make her cover that... that..." Slughorn was shaking with fury "Just go!"
It was annoying how the class erupted into applause and cheerings as Sirius walked away, drowning the teacher's protests.
Sirius blinked in suprise but then as the man he was, smiled in victory. God, it was a sexy smile.
There he was again. Sirius, the attention seeker.
His eyes crossed Remus's for a second. And the power of his best friend winning smile was so strong that Remus smiled too.
Only they knew the truth. Only them. Remus liked the idea of their secret.
The news of Sirius's hickey and mystery girl flew fast. By the time dinner rolled around, everyone in the castle had heard of it. Pomfrey had covered the bruise with makeup, but still the rumour was out. The Marauders recieved glances, whispers and pointing of fingers.
Sirius, if possible, became more desirable than ever.
Later that night, Remus was already losing patience. He lost it when he heard his favourite girls; Lily, Mary and Marlene talking about it.
"The boy doesn't lose time, eh?" Mary was tutting.
"Honestly, I don't care" Good said, Lily!
"Poor Alecto" Marlene shook her head "She's still waiting for Sirius to give him a chance"
"Maybe it was her who gave it to him" Lily intervened.
"Nah, bet Alecto doesn't even know how to properly kiss" Mary smirked.
"She's probably going to tell everyone it was her" Marlene sighed.
The three girls gasped and jumped when Remus closed the book with great force. He hadn't realized he was so angry until he did it.
"Would you shut up taking about it?!" Remus rose to his feet.
The girls were overwhelmed, looking at Remus like he had lost his mind. Maybe he had.
Remus started walking away but Mary called him.
"Do you know who is Sirius's mystery girl?" Mary asked with a pout.
Remus wanted to yell it was him. He wanted everyone to know he kissed Sirius like there was no tomorrow, and Sirius kissed him back with the same need. That Remus loved to see Sirius lose his senses when Remus tongue went inside his mouth. Or that he could still hear Sirius sighs and moans when he kissed his neck that day. That his fingers ran through his hair widely, so much that Remus had to wet it and fix it afterwards. He wanted to say they had to wait for Sirius's erection to disappear even if the boy had tried to hide it from Remus. But Remus knew it was there.
Remus wanted to tell everyone he could have Sirius like that at least for some minutes. That he reached heaven when they had those sessions. And he didn't want to stop. Never. That he didn't see it as mere fun. That each time he kissed and touched Sirius he fell a little bit more in love with him. Each time.
He didn't say any of it, though.
"I don't know and I don't care" it was what came out of his mouth.
Remus walked to Sirius on the other side of the room.
"A word?" he whispered in his ear.
He walked upstairs to their dorm. Sirius followed him giving the other boys the excuse he really wanted a cigarrette and that they needed to stop asking questions.
As soon as Remus closed the door behind him, he began with his speech.
"Look I'm sorry about the hickey, okay?" he said "I didn't know what I was doing when I was doing it... You know?... And..."
He was out of words since Sirius interrupted with a kiss. As always, Remus melted into it.
"I thought you were angry" Remus said after they took a break.
Sirius smiled beautifully "Why would I be angry?"
Actually Remus didn't know.
"People can think whatever they want from me" Sirius shrugged "They've always had"
"And you like that, don't you?"
Sirius rolled his eyes "I like you"
Remus's heart started beaiting fast.
"And I like the way you kissed me there" Sirius came closer. Remus was out of air "Nobody has to know or care what we do. I'm sticking to my shower story"
"You could've come up with something better honestly"
Sirius laughed with that. Remus smirked.
"So, you don't want to end this?"
Sirius shook his head "Why would I?"
Remus shrugged.
"Do you want to end it?"
"No!"
God, Remus sounded desperate.
Sirius was close enough to kiss again.
"Then make sure not to leave any other marks and people will get over it soon, Moony"
"Okay" It was going to be hard.
Sirius kissed him again.
Shit! It was really going to be hard. Remus wanted to mark every inch of Sirius's body. That thought encouraged him to kiss Sirius harder and better. He took control. Sirius let out a soft moan.
Remus was so fucking doomed.
They fell into Remus's bed, Sirius on top of him.
Remus was so screwed. He wanted him closer and closer.
This want for Sirius was going to be the death of him.

"I wonder if you know
I'm tryin' so hard not to get caught up now
But you're just so cool
Run your hands through your hair
Absent mindedly makin' me want you"
This is the most Jily coded song. Fearless by Taylor Swift is literally about Jily.

After considering it for too long, and a year of living together as somehow adults, Remus and Sirius decided to buy a car. They were tired of walking around everywhere, taking the bus or depending on James to drive them places.
Sirius said he would take care of it and get a sweet deal with people he knew. At the end, Sirius came back not with a car but a motorbike.
"No" Remus shook his head "I don't know if you noticed but this is not a car"
The look on Sirius's face was wonderful and beautiful. Remus hadn't seen that kind of joy and excitement in a person before.
"This is the best thing I've ever gotten" Sirius sighed with satisfaction "She's beautiful"
It was old, maybe vintage. Remus didn't know about bikes but it looked rather cool. It smelled of leather and oil.
"She?"
"I decided to name her Jamie"
Remus almost laughed.
"Let me guess, Prongs's idea?"
Sirius giggled in response.
"Sirius, this is a vehicle not a pet"
Sirius was practically bouncing on his feet. Remus could get reasonable about the dangers of keeping it. How they talked about a car would be useful. A bike was inconvenient. But he knew from the look on Sirius's face they were keeping it. Sirius always got what he wanted anyway. Because Remus would give him the world just to see him smile like that.
"Want to ride Jamie, Moony?"
"No thanks, I'm gay" Remus answered, making Sirius laugh deliciously "Do you even know how to ride this thing?"
Sirius shrugged "The person who sold it to me might've explained" he said "But like good first times, it might hurt a little"
Remus loved the cheeky way in which Sirius was smirking.
"You need a license for that" he said "And helmets"
"Don't be a buzz, Moons" Sirius pouted like a little kid "Let's just try if it works"
"It might not work?" Remus gasped.
"Don't be mean to Jamie. She might be rusty but we just have to warm her up"
Remus rolled his eyes imagining all the double sense jokes Sirius was going to make.
"I do appreciate my life, thank you" he crossed his arms.
"You?" Sirius snorted "With the poor habits you have? All the junk you eat, the cigarettes you smoke and the amount of hours you sleep might kill you before my poor Jamie"
"Well, thank you very much" Remus scoffed.
"Please Moony!! Please!" Sirius begged, batting his eyes. His gorgeous eyes.
Sirius could ask him anything. He could ask him to die for him and Remus would do it. Something that might happen with "Jamie" but if it made Sirius happy it would be worth it.
"Fuck it" Remus sighed "Okay, fine!"
"Yeah?" Sirius beamed "We're riding Jamie?"
Remus scooped closer "Only if I get to ride you afterwards" he said before kissing his boyfriend's mouth.
Sirius sighed through the kiss "Oh Moony. Fucking deal" and they kissed more.
They got on the bike, Sirius at the front and Remus squeezing his back.
"Now I like the position we're in, Moons" Sirius said casually "Much sexier than driving a sodding car, eh?"
Remus let out a chuckle.
"You're bloody impossible" he said "I love you"
Sirius twisted his torso to face him.
"Love you too" then kissed him.

The moment Sirius starting respecting and liking Lily was the moment she put him in his place.
Before that Sirius was passive aggressive with his comments. Always saying something mean or making fun of her. He wasn't friendly with her before. But ever since she started dating his best friend, Sirius became a nightmare. Lily heard him whispering about her saying how boring or annoying she was. Lily noticed the way he rolled his eyes when James included her in their plans. Lily froze when she asked him a question and most of the time ignored her. Sirius could be a dick when he wanted.
Lily tried to forget it and forgive him because she knew all the horrible things his family did to him. How he didn't feel like he had a family until he met James. How his family disowned him and now he moved in with The Potters. She was nice and tried to get closer to him only to be rejected.
Lily was a patient girl. But everyone had their limits. Sirius had commented something about Lily not letting James live.
James tried to intervene but Lily stopped him.
Sirius had said worse things honestly. And Lily had been accumulating a lot. So she finally exploded.
"I'm gonna tell you something, Sirius" Lily spat "You might not like me for whatever reason which is odd since I have been nothing but nice to you. And trust me, you are not exactly my favourite person either. But guess what? I am dating James now. I'm his girlfriend. Whether you like it or not we have to share him. And not because you keep saying nasty or mean things to me I am going to break up with him. I love him. And I know that you love him too. We are both important for James so we have to be mature about it and try to act civil around each other. I might not be the perfect girl you dreamt for your best friend but I like to believe I make him happy. As much as he makes me happy. So please stop acting like a dick! An act of love is accepting that sometimes things are not the way you want them but the way they are. Don't you love, James? Accept he is dating me and move on. Let's stop this nonsense for James, shall we?"
The way she left Sirius speechless made Lily feel powerful. The people who heard her were surprised for her bravery. She was proud of herself.
Sweet Lily had her dark side. And as nice as she was she was not stupid.
Someone had to put that stupid pretty boy in his place.
After that Sirius stopped being a dick with her. He acted civil. Until time and their shared love for James brought them close. Eventually they became friends. Good friends. And they loved each other.

And there they were again. That weird feelings. Like goosebumps and a burning sensation in his chest. Things moving inside Sirius's stomach giving him a nice sensation.
Lately all of them were related to Remus. And they happened when he was around. When he smiled. When he made him laugh. When he was too close to touch.
Right now he was just in front of him. All wet and shaking from the cold. All because Sirius had been stupid to dare him to get into the lake. Why did he do it? He was nervous.
Remus had been his best friend for years and now he made him nervous. What was happening?
"God, Sirius you are insane" Remus's teeth shook "You have a dead wish obviously. Now you want to drag me into it so you won't die alone"
Sirius laughed and boom that weird feeling was there again. Remus was so adorable.
Sirius swam closer to his friend. It was unconscious maybe for the cold or maybe because he felt guilty that Remus was cold.
Before he knew it, Sirius was only inches away from Remus.
"Do you have a secret plan to kill us both or something?"
"No..."
Sirius listened but he didn't pay attention. He was suddenly aware of every detail of Remus's face. Soft freckles on top of his nose. Dry and chopped lips. Long eyelashes and light brown eyes that hid a million thoughts at the same time. Messy wet curls. The water drops across his face made him look different. Remus was beautiful.
Sirius had the curiosity of what it would feel like to kiss that beautiful face and that beautiful mouth.
It had happened before. An awkward kiss that had broken them apart for a while. Sirius didn't want to happen again.
But right now he was drunk with the want and the need to taste those lips again.
And Sirius was reckless and stupid. He acted before thinking. So that was what he did. He leaned in quickly stealing a kiss from Remus.
Seeing the surprise in his friend's face made Sirius immediately regret it. He panicked thinking about a quick excuse and apology.
Although before he could say something Remus smiled. Sirius smiled in relief and in a matter of seconds, Remus grabbed the back of his head and pulled him in for another kiss.
The second kiss stopped being shy and awkward. They both opened their mouths for each other and the second Sirius's tongue touched Remus's, he felt literal fireworks all over his body.
Sirius was kissing the hell out of his best friend and he liked it. He liked it a lot.
His mind was filled with insecurities, fears and concerns about what would happen after the kiss and how things would change between them.
However when Remus ran his fingers through his hair. Sirius forgot about everything and let himself go.
Sirius hadn't enjoyed kissing someone this much. And that was dangerous.

Regulus's highlight is when his older brother pays attention to him.
Regulus's highlight is when his older brother takes care of him.
Regulus's highlight is when his older brother wants to spend time with him.
Regulus's highlight is when they laugh, share and have fun.
None of that happens when James Potter is around. Regulus disappears for Sirius the second James Potter is around.
Because James Potter is Sirius's highlight.
Regulus is drunk tonight and after calling his brother's friend a twat and bickering with him because he didn't like being called a twat, Regulus shouts:
"You stole my brother away from me! Sirius is my brother! He shares my blood not yours!"
Regulus can feel the tears in his eyes. He sees Potter is hurt and the rest of their friends are shocked.
"Regulus!" He hears Sirius protesting.
Regulus suddenly feels guilty and dizzy. He is drunk and all he can do is hug his brother like he used to do when he was scared or embarrassed when he was little.
"I don't feel well, Sirius" he says hoping his brother will tell him it all would be okay and he is there for him.
But Sirius pushes him away.
"You're bloody drunk, Regulus" he snaps "And you're embarrassing me"
Then he turns to James Potter like he always does. Who he always prefers.
"I'm sorry Prongs"
"It's okay mate"
Regulus has tears in his eyes again because it hurts.
