I made these as a way to compile all the geographical vocabulary that I thought was useful and interesting for writers. Some descriptors share categories, and some are simplified, but for the most part everything is in its proper place. Not all the words are as useable as others, and some might take tricky wording to pull off, but I hope these prove useful to all you writers out there!

It’s funny now but sad when you think about the psychological side of things.

TW: Eating disorder, childhood neglect, and food scarcity mentioned.

Sam and Dean grew up in poverty with scarce amounts of food at times for reasons mentioned in the post, (John’s shitty parenting mostly) but Dean would steal food to feed Sam. Would one not think Dean would also go without food so that Sam could eat?

This was mentioned in another post by someone here a long time ago, but people Dean eats so much food and junk because he has a food insecurity and a binge eating disorder. Sam has the luxury of his ‘rabbit food’ diets as he never had to worry about going without food is, because Dean always made sure his little brother was fed even if that meant he wasn’t.

TLDR:

Sam has a healthy relationship with food because Dean kept him fed as a child, therefore goes on whatever diet he feels is healthy for his body.

Dean had an unhealthy relationship with food because he’d starve as a child, therefore in adulthood obtains a binge eating disorder as he doesn’t know when he’ll next get food.

the way supernatural treats food is soooooooo crazy because they establish that sam and dean grew up in poverty and they had such little access to food that dean would have to shoplift bread and go without meals for himself so he could feed sam. but then as the show goes on they make more and more jokes about how much dean relies on food for comfort and can never feel full enough, and how sam stringently follows diets and exercise regiments as a form of control. but it's funny you see because dean likes pie and sam likes rabbit food. it's funny
