Scientists Just Found Who's Causing Global Warming
A recent study published in the journal Nature Climate Change has found that the richest 10 percent of the world population are responsible for an astonishing two-thirds of observable climate warming since 1990. Basically, that small minority of the wealthiest among us contribute nearly seven times as much to extreme climate change as the entire lower-earning 90 percent of the planet.
If that's not enough to have you reaching for your pitchfork, the top 1 percent contribute 20 times as much to climate disasters as the bottom 99 percent. Since 2019, the research article notes, the "wealthiest 10 percent of the global population accounted for nearly half of global emissions" through "private consumption and investments, whereas the poorest 50 percent accounted for only one-tenth of global emissions."

Actor Johnathan Joss was just murdered for being gay. On the first day of pride 2025. He was best known for playing John Redcorn on King of the Hill.
I had no idea he was gay but he was married to a man named Tristan Kern de Gonzales (on valentines day 2025!)

They lived in San Antonio Texas where his family is from and he grew up. He was 59.
In Janurary 2025 his home was burned down which made news. It killed some of his beloved dogs. He didnt elaborate beyond he believed it was arson (gofundme is still up and i suggest donating to help his funeral costs and his husband
)
Now we know he and his husband had been threatened by several neighbors for being queer. They told pigs, pigs being pigs did nothing before or after it happened.
Yesterday Joss and his husband went to check their mailbox wherein they found one of their dogs skulls (statement from his husband
)
As they weeped and mourned in shock, a neighbor, Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, came out and aimed at de Gonzales…but Hoss jumped in front of the bullet and was instantly killed.
Ceja, homophobia murdering coward, tried to take off but de Gonzales had called pigs who vaguely tried to do something. He was arrested and his bail set for $200k. Or as my sister said who the fuck sets bail for a murderer?
San Antonio.
De Gonzales is clearly mourning, posting pics on Hoss’ fb page. This one really struck me

This is why we need pride people, and not rainbow capitalism. Please donate to the gofundme and let san antonio cops knows what you think. De Gonzales said multiple neighbors had threatened them…id like to see those people investigated for arson.
Go into pride with rage and knowing. Have joy, kiss puppies, dont bow to homophobes. And maybe enjoy a little king of the hill.

Listen. Here is my question. I understand that the answer to the question “What do all these enshittified platforms and websites WANT?” is “Money,” and perhaps “Your data, to sell it for Money.” But how do they expect that to happen? If Pinterest AI moderation is banning thousands of people for pinning things that are offensive, or not offensive, or not pinning anything at all, how are people supposed to use it? How are they supposed to generate data and therefore money for Pinterest? I just keep seeing this. If you sell/destroy/make a social media site, or a news site, or any kind of anything so terrible that people stop using it, how does that save or make you money?
#reference#this is a great way to explain this facet of capitalism to people#good breakdown#stocks#enshittification

this guy really always had something to say about almost everything and nearly all of it is still completely relevant almost 200 years later. fascinating stuff.
#waiwait wait is that rittenhouse square Philadelphia?#I'm sorry but if so this is literally the least 'offensive' graffiti I've ever seen fuck out of here#not that it even matters#I'd like to know what exactly the harm that this person is referring to is. show me the harm. who is being hurt actually show them to me#maybe I will visit Rittenhouse this week so I can 'do more harm than good' too ☺️

the ICE concentration camps in Louisiana are particularly notorious for abuse, torture, illegal detention, and other violations of even the limited legal protections afforded to migrants in the so-called US. Mahmoud Khalil was disappeared to one of these camps, and last I heard he still hasn't been allowed contact with his lawyer or anyone else in the outside world. they disappeared him to the state where he is most likely to be tortured, and least likely to be allowed the already scant legal protections theoretically afforded to abductees
"We see Louisiana as this black hole where people are transported and disappeared, and because they're unable to access legal resources, they're facing significant barriers and due process and are actually unable to adequately represent themselves in their cases for protection."
"Abuse of thousands of migrants at federal immigration detention centers in Louisiana is rampant, inhumane and meets the legal definition of torture, according to a report published on Monday by a coalition of human rights groups. Accusations include the shackling of detainees for lengthy periods in painful positions, filthy drinking water, food contaminated by rat feces and served in meager portions, and a denial of or restricted access to medical and mental health treatment."
"Jointly managed and overseen by NOLA ICE, the nine immigration jails of Louisiana share common characteristics. ... Eight of the nine NOLA ICE jails are operated by private prison companies, providing a cost-cutting motive for subpar treatment of detained people. Eight of the NOLA ICE jails hold people for prolonged periods of detention ranging from several months to years, in violation of laws mandating release of people who are neither dangerous nor a flight risk. All of the NOLA ICE jails are located in rural areas isolated from legal resources in order to restrict detained peoples’ access to due process. All of the NOLA ICE jails evade the federal government’s toothless oversight mechanisms despite years of findings of endemic abuse. ... Of all ICE field offices nationally, NOLA ICE stands out for holding people in detention for longer and refusing release at higher rates. ... NOLA ICE also holds people with final orders of removal in prolonged detention ... NOLA ICE also holds people in arbitrary detention, refusing discretionary release at higher rates than any other ICE field office."
also worth noting that in the second half of the Biden admin, ICE started funneling the disappeared into these Louisiana camps at an astronomically higher rate:
