From the archives (I am deleting my discord server, so posting my hours of writing and research here)
⚠️ When I recently ate half an edible that went sideways (some edibles are not mixed properly, resulting in very strong or very weak dosages from the same multi-pak), I tried in this order:
👉 Talking myself down & paying attention to my heart rate.
☝️ When that didn't work, I ran cold water on my arms and I did vasovagal maneuvers ("try to poop")
🌟 When that didn't work, I called someone and put them on **Standby to call 911 if I become unresponsive or unable to keep talking** ⬅️
🌟 At this point, I kept them talking to me and **I chewed a fuck ton of peppercorns. **
I was so high I couldn't taste or feel the burn right away. It took a few minutes, **but it began to reverse the side effect and my heart rate began to come down. ** 🌟
⚠️ At it's highest my HR was at 150, this was how I knew I was at a risk for having an emergency and needed to act. ⚠️
**!!!** I also had **Caffeine** earlier that day

From the archives, my article on heat illness and psychedelics
Unusually warm spring weather has me setting this reminder early:
🛑 **Drugs + Dehydration + Warm weather = Potential for Disaster**
🥃 With Any Psychedelic, maintaining hydration & electrolytes is key. 💧
*Already sensitive to temperature changes? You may be at more risk, even if the weather is fine for others.*
**Prepare by:**
☀️ Staying in the shade, keep a parasol with you, or wide brimmed hats
🎽 Wear cool, lightweight, breathable clothing
💧 Drink cool water
☕ Avoiding caffiene (or other stimulants)
🥰 Keep electrolytes handy!
🦺 Have an emergency plan incase you are enjoying in a rural area far from other people
🩹 Prepare an emergency kit (electrolytes, instant cold paks, snacks etc)

** 🍬 Signs of Hypoglycemia **
With a good portion of people living in the United States being undiagnosed *insulin resistant* and many more diagnosed with actual *diabetes* it's important to know how to appropriately manage and prepare for Hypo/Hyper glycemia.
We're focusing on **Hypoglycemia** in this post because it is *more likely* to happen when the body is under *stress and exertion*, of which Drugs, including Psychedelics can induce, along with long hot hikes on the beach.
Pair this with Electrolyte imbalances from dehydration and any other health conditions you may have, and this could send you to the hospital.
**Always use your better judgement and listen to medical advice if you're not sure. All of this information is for harm reduction purposes only and we're not diagnosing or trying to treat any condition**
If you're having a bad time on your trip, one thing you can do is check your glucose levels using a glucose monitor. Most diabetics will already have this.
If you're not diabetic, or don't have your blood sugar issues diagnosed, you'll want to make sure you prepare for any long outings involving the use of substances.
**Prepare by**:
🍬 Keeping emergency **Glucose** with you. This works faster and is easier to dose than eating a bunch of candy or ice cream. You don't want to spike yourself and have a rebound blood sugar low later. Glucose tablets can be bought at your local pharmacy or online.
**If someone suspected of having Hypoglycemia passes out, use "Runners Gel" on the inside of their cheek and prepare emergency protocols**
"Runners Gel" is liquid glucose that comes in a single use packet. You do not need to use the entire packet on the inside of their cheek, again we don't want to spike someone only to have a drop later.
**Snacks on a trip** when you have blood sugar concerns should be:
🥦 Full of Fiber and Protein, **not** fast acting carbs that might spike your sugar, and then drop you into *reactive hypoglycemia*.
**Remember bodies are on overdrive at moderate to higher doses of psychedelics, and even more so on stimulants. Add environmental concerns to this, and your burning fuel at a faster rate than when sober**
🍬 Candy as a treat within your sugar limits/tolerances as determined by your care plan/preferences is A-Ok to bring!
**Symptoms of Hypoglycemia**
Symptoms can overlap with other symptoms, such as Asthma in some cases (cold fingers comes to mind) or Heat-Related concerns. Try to test your sugar before treating for low sugar levels to be safe.
You'll notice that symptoms of **Hyperglycemia** may overlap with *Heat Exhaustion* symptoms to some extent as well.
**If your prepare well and manage your sugar well in the days before (and following) a big trip / day of using substances, you will have practiced optimal harm reduction**

It’s never a good idea to source online especially through dating apps like Lex.
A common scam is to give you their cash app, asking you to purchase an item you’re looking for, then they will come and deliver for free.
This sets you up to lose your money and it is hard to dispute with companies like cash app due to the often illegal circumstances that got you in this scenario.
Don’t do it. Sometikes there will be a wing person or a second account who is the same or is working with the scam artist. They will make a story very believable. This is a form of social engineering. No matter how good it sounds, don’t do it.
Mush love and be safe out there!

How Scammers Are Stealing Your Money on Cash App, Zelle, and Other Payment Platforms
-An original article by Mycolancer
Scammers are out here robbing people left and right, and it’s getting ridiculous. These con artists are using Cash App, Zelle, and similar platforms to trick you into sending money with ZERO intention of ever delivering what they promised. Here’s how they pull it off and why you should be furious. 🤬
The Scams You Need to Watch Out For:
1. Fake Sellers: They act like they’ve got the hottest items—new gadgets, concert tickets, special treats, whatever you’re looking for. The second you send them the cash, poof, they disappear. No product, no refund, no nothing. They’ll bait you with free delivery! 🚚 🛑
2. Posing as Friends or Family: Ever get a message from a friend or family member asking for money? Yeah, don’t trust that right away. These scammers hack into accounts and pretend to be people you know, getting you to send money in a panic, only for you to realize it wasn’t them. 👀
3. Fake Customer Support: This one is just evil. They pretend to be customer service for Cash App or Zelle, offering to “help” you with a refund or some issue. Next thing you know, they’ve tricked you into sending them money instead of fixing anything. 😒
The Red Flags You Shouldn’t Ignore:
• Rushing You: If someone is pressuring you to send money fast, that’s a big sign it’s a scam. They thrive on making you act before you think. 🤔
• Asking for Payment on Peer-to-Peer Apps. Cash in person is best when there’s so many scams out there! Make sure you know they have a good reputation in the community. ‼️
How to Not Get Screwed Over:
• Send Money Only to People You Know: If you don’t know them personally, don’t trust them. Period. Ask people you trust about them! 🥰
• Double-Check Everything: Think you’re sending money to a friend? Call them first to be sure. You’d rather be safe than sorry. 🤓
• Too Good to Be True? IT IS: Those deals that seem like a steal? Yeah, they’re the ones stealing from you. Maybe sourcing cheapest isn’t best…. 🤔🤔🤔
‼️ Don’t let these scammers get away with it. Be smart, be cautious, and don’t trust anyone who’s too pushy or demands payment for certain goodies up front!! Once you send that money, there’s usually no getting it back!! ‼️
Mush love and be safe!

🛑 **WARNING on Mixing Lithium (the Psychiatric Medication used to treat Bipolar) with Psilocybin**
Lithium + Psilocybin can cause **Seizures**, read about it here: https://psychedelichealth.co.uk/2021/08/13/mixing-psychedelics-with-lithium-poses-significant-risk-of-seizures/
🦺 **CAUTION on Serotonin Syndrome**
From this article here: https://psychedelicpharmacist.org/ssris-and-psilocybin-therapy-to-taper-or-not/
"Serotonin syndrome (SS) is a potentially life-threatening condition caused by the overactivation of serotonergic receptors in the brain. SS is commonly caused by an interaction between two different serotonergic drugs that both upregulate serotonin signaling in the body. Symptoms of SS can include hypomania, myoclonus, akathisia, diarrhea, fever, dilated pupils, shivering, and tachycardia, as well as other serious clinical symptoms. If left untreated, SS can be deadly. "
Read on to learn more about the different types of anti-depressants and MAOI's to help you decide if mixing Psilocybin experiences while on psychiatric medication is right for you.
🛑 **WARNING on combining Psilocybin with stimulants**
Psilocybin raises heart rate and blood pressure. Adding stimulents into this can cause an synergistic effect, which could be potentially dangerous.
*If you have heart arrythmia, reconsider your use of Psychedelics, or proceed with caution and use a much smaller amount and avoid caffeine or stimulent drugs*
**Stimulent drugs include:**
Cocaine
Meth
And possibly some medications like Albuterol, but I have not (yet) seen studies about that.
**Basically:** *If it is going to raise your blood pressure and heart rate, DO NOT take extra things that also raise your blood pressure and heart rate unless you are experienced, or go low and slow*

🍄 🫙 **STORE YOUR MUSHIES WELL** 🫙 🍄
Ever got mushrooms in a zip lock baggy and they were bendy and chewy when you got them?
*ew*, that's not right, but it's *not always bad, either*.
When the mushrooms are prepared to go out in the world, *responsible* people, or *people who have experience* (they didn't know before) will make sure they are properly **dehydrated** and stored before they get rid of them.
Most people are cheap, or don't have the funds, so they use a **box fan** to dry out the shrooms. This can be bad if the hygiene and care of this process isn't done well. It's the least preferred method, in my opinion.
If it weren't bad enough to have to always guess the *potency* of each individual fruit, you'll have to also consider that **how they were dehydrated** could make an impact on potency. For example, when dehydrated in the **oven**, they could lose potency in the span of just 2-4 hours!
The best way anyone can dehydrate a bunch of mushrooms is to use proper handling & equipment.
**So what do you do if you get some that are bendy or tear apart?**
We want mushrooms that are cracker dry. These are the absolute safest to consume, and the potency is locked in. When stored **correctly** at that point, they will remain potent for sometimes YEARS if continually stored well away from sunlight, moisture, and oxygen.
So you got some bendy shrooms?
🟢 **Check them** for Mold and Sliminess. Find either? Toss the whole batch, you might get food poisoning.
❣️ **If they don't smell sickly sweet, have no slime, no mold, and are just a little bendy, then you're likely ok to consume** - Try a tea for these..
*or*
**On very low temperature settings in the oven (140*), you can dehydrate them carefully** - Just put a box fan in front of the oven with the door open. Check them at the 60 and then at the 90 minute mark. They should snap when they're cracker dry.
🗒️ **How to Store yours properly**
After you've foraged and gotten your 🍄 you'll want to do a few things to properly store them:
1. **Check for Mold, Slime, Bendyness, and sickly sweet smell**
2. **When foraging in the wild, they will be fresh, so you need to prepare for dehydration** - Do this by rinsing off your mushrooms carefully of any manure/dirt etc. Follow your dehydrator's settings at or below 140* to dehydrate fully. This can take many hours. Be patient.
3. **If they came to you dried already, and they passed the check for grossness, ** then decide what you want to use them for. If they arrived Bendy, consider storing properly as is for tea, or consider dehydrating them further using your oven, or using your own dehydrator.
4. **When ready to store**: Once everything is all good and you're ready to store, make sure that:
- You've got Dessicit Packers (I like the Dry & Dry brands)
- You have an airtight jar, Tight Pac, Vacuum sealer & bags, or Mylar bags & heat sealer
- You have a place to put them away from heat, humidity, light, or fluctuating temperatures
Some people like to tape the dessicat packets to the underside of their mason jars. You need to store the 🍄 ASAP after making sure they're cracker dry. **DO not let them sit out in a baggy overnight, they will suck up Seattle air like the little happy sponges they are**
And that's it for this post on storing mushrooms you find in the wild, or receive elsewhere. Be safe! ❤️

Your medication may give a false positive for drugs - by Mycolancer
Hi! It’s been a while since I wrote anything. Life is crazy tough, but I am still here. I am not currently on Lex anymore, so if you see someone impersonating me, it’s not me & you know what to do.
So anyway, I got a strange question about some homemade mushroom bars I gifted to a friend. She asked if they had any THC in them because her at home test gave a positive result.
She has a situation where she needs to test every so often. I’m not going to go into details. I let her know I don’t mix substances in the treats I make at home for me and my pals. It’s a fair question, I mean there’s a lot of mixing & matching these days, and I don’t make them with an audience, this isn’t Iron Chef!
I like to give gifts out. Share the magic!
She went back and did some research, then shared it with me:
Proton Pump Inhibitors can give a false THC positive. You can read about another person who got a false positive here:

Fellow leftists being more concerned with tone policing than they are with maintaining the integrity of the words they use.
Everyone is an abuser if their polite attempt at setting a boundary pisses you off, I guess.
Helpers want to help but when their help actually falls flat or overwhelms someone or there is pushback because it is taking their autonomy away — or it simply added more stress to a situation — then they snap and call people ungrateful, abusers, too needy.
It’s ugly in some of these mutual aid chats.
If two people point out a boundary setting was worded correctly and wasn’t about controlling but then 3 others support the single person calling it abusive, what kind of community is that?
We gotta stop watering down the word abuse and its variations. Sometimes you feeling defensive or attacked by something that checks out reasonable is irrational if you decide to escalate it to accusations of abuse.
The incident that inspired this post involves someone in a position of power in those chats and someone newer to the community. The newer person was setting the boundary.
Anyways, have the day you all deserve, this is bullshit.
