Can Reaps reincarnate?

Do all animals posses a soul? If yes, what happens if you put an incorrect soul into an incorrect body?(Like a human into a sheep)

How accessible is reincarnation? Is it a rich only commodity or more like organ donors?

Does reincarnation cause people to swap bodies or one soul just overrides the other?

Can Reaps go wild at will, or it's a stress/call of the sea induced reflex, like humans are able to sneeze or refuse to sneeze if their nose is irritated but not sneeze at will?

At the end of Reaptide, we see Seren in humanlike form, do all wild Reaps become humanlike upon death or it's just a stylistic choice?

Actually this rises another question, why didn't Victorie shoot the wild reap before Seren sacrificed herself?

1. No.

2.every living being has a soul but we only found how to separate it from the human body, so humans are the only ones to reincarnate.

3. technically, pretty much every human can reincarnate, but finding an accessible body can be tough (like youre not gonna reincarnate in a body that has already been buried, because how are you gonna get out of the grave from the inside). Theres been quite a rise in body trafficking since the discovery of reincarnation but it's just more acessible to very rich people, some of them treat reincarnation just like changing outfit, while the average person sees it as a somewhat rare, but not unlikely occurence.

4. the body has to be soulless for someone to reincarnate in it.

5. some reaps can somewhat go wild at will but it's pretty rare and it's still a struggle to turn back afterwards.

6. Just a stylistic choice lol.

7. Victoire simply didn't get the time to, she had her back turned when the reap appeared, she's really ashamed of it.

Im currently in my obssesing with reaptide phase and the question that's really bugging me is:

Where do Reaps come from?

Not in a "how they cane to be" or "how they get born" way (as we know they're mammals), but where do they live? Do they have their own settlements near the sea? Do they have their own culture and stuff? Are the two girls orphans?

Is Call of the sea preventing them from forming large settlements outside the Great Britain?

Do wild reaps even attack humanlike reaps on sight or it's like sharks and humans?

Are there any reap human hybrids or they're completely incompatible?

Woah first of all thank you for so many questions, im glad you enjoyed REAPTIDE!

1- wild reaps live in the sea, they generally tend to settle near coasts, while human-ish reaps live like humans in houses and stuff, mostly in western europe as they are very rare anywhere else.

2- (talking solely about human reaps here) their culture is pretty much the same as the one of the humans living there, though all reaps feel a strong connection to the sea and they tend to have beleifs and superstitions around it, those do spread around and humans end up also beleiving in them though.

You do also have a bunch of obscure groups developping other beleifs around the role of reaps in the world and all, but those aren't universal.

3- both Seren and Avery have alive parental figures but their households are in situations where they risk being sent to the church of the child of truth, wich is why they ran away.

4- no one knows why reaps loose their humanity the further they stray away from great britain, the call of the sea isn't an actual explaination for it, just a superstition.

5- wild reaps attack anything they see as an enemy/prey on sight, human-looking reaps aren't safe.

6- nah a human and a reap cant have kids together they gotta adopt.
