Book Review #15:
Title: A Court of Mist and Fury
Author: Sarah J. Maas
Genre: Hades x Persephone vibes (perhaps Helen of Troy as well), fae x human romance, enemies to lovers, love triangle, romantasy, magic.
Page count: 626

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spicy:🌶️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
WARNING: ⛔️‼️⚠️ Might have some spoilers. Proceed with caution.
The second book in this series takes place three months after the events of the first book. While Feyre was given a second chance of new life for her actions Under The Mountain, she is left dealing with the trauma of having to deal with the choices she made to have this opportunity as well as two be with her love and the rest of the Spring Court.
Speaking of Tamlin, one would think he’d be a lot more sensitive to what Feyre is going through to ensure his and his people’s freedom (even Nesta, who still continues to act coldly towards Feyre, says something about this). What does he do instead? Ignore her as she has nightmares as well as having a wedding planned so soon after these events when this time should have been used for them to heal and grow closer through it. Never once does Tamlin check in with his love to see how she’s holding up. Also, he continues to be secretive with her (only when it has to do with her powers or politics does he speak with her 😒). Something a happy and loving marriage should not be built on. Thankfully, she has Lucien to give her some form of normalcy and support (loved him in this as much as the first book).
Also, I can’t get over how much he tried to speak on behalf of Feyre against Tamlin—his best friend— only for Tamlin to react cruelly and irrationally with his fiancée as well as Lucien whose only trying to look out for both of them yet still be loyal to his duties as emissary at the Spring Court.
However, when Rhysand whisks Feyre to the Night Court, it’s such a different world there. As she is not only surrounded by females who are able to hold power—Mor (who is such a sweetheart by the way) and Armen—but she is also surrounded by males—Cassian and Azriel (as well as Rhysand) who support women as well as human kind as a whole. Overall, learning about all these individuals—the Inner Circle— was so interesting. I loved reading about each of their own backgrounds, especially with how Rhysand met Cassian and Azriel back when they were children,
Reading about Rhysand was such a treat. While the end of the first book hinted at their being more to him than met the eye, I would have never guessed to this extent. Like Feyre, he feels guilty for the actions he took to ensure his friends, family, and people’s safety. The only difference is that he had support while Feyre didn’t. At least, until Feyre became part of the Night Court.
The main thing that stood out to me throughout all this was Feyre coming to realize how people in love can change without knowing to the point that it can also lead to people sometimes growing out of love. Another, to do with the vulnerability that Maas allowed for the males to have. Specifically, that they too can be sexually exploited no matter what position they are in to ensure the safety of others. At this point, Lucien and Rhys have my heart. For they endured all this and still did everything they could for others.

Just because this looked fun, here are my thoughts:
🧠Fiction. Though, I do like reading books about psychology and sociology.
📖Series. Hoping to eventually find more standalone books to read in between series.
🌅Night as it’s the perfect way for me to unwind from my day.
📱Print. Though, I do love using my fire tablet/kindle account to have access to books that I can’t always find in print.
📚My books (both printed and e-books) are pristine. Though, I have a google document and notebook dedicated to my thoughts regarding what I read during and after completing a book.

@autismsupermusicalassassin It took a while to find and get the price I want. Therefore, I knew I had to act now before I never get that lucky for a while 😂
To those who read their books through Kindle Unlimited:
The Prequel to the Wicked Series is available for a good price for a limited time. Just received this notification and wanted to share this with Wicked fans who have yet to read this part of the series.
Link to book: https://amzn.to/3UdyCQw
While some Wicked book fans might say this is a cash grab for Gregory Maguire, I think this is something totally worth reading. As the early parts in Elphaba were often interesting to read about. Especially regarding the interactions between Melena, Frexpar, and Nanny. I would also like to know more about the fate of Turtleheart. Therefore, it leads me to ask….
For those who’ve read their books in its entirety, would it matter that I read the prequels before reading the sequels, the sequels before the prequel, or does it not matter?
Any feedback on this is welcome.
Hope this information is helpful to some of you all.

Book Review #14:
Title: My Blood is Yours (Book 1 of The Summoning Series)
Author: Chiara Forestieri
Genre: daemon x human romance, fated mates, fast burn, multiple pov, monster x human, monsters, gothic, paranormal, dimensions.
Page count: 211

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spicy: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
*Prior to reading this series, I would always see it on my Pinterest as I recommended book on Kindle Unlimited. When instantly seeing the cover of the male main character, I often found physical similarities between him and Ruhn Danaan from the Crescent City Series. Hence, it piqued my interest.
Upon reading the book, I was shocked by how much dedication the author put into this book. From having name pronunciations of characters and places to trying to give as much information about the relationship between characters as well as the various realms mentioned, the reader can easily tell that the author is passionate about what she does as well as her readers.
Without further ado, this novella centers around Sariel and Elowen. A daemon male and human female destined to be mates. However, a mad scientist is who keeps them apart throughout the duration of the story.
Loved the contrast that was shown between Sariel and the mad scientist regarding their relationship to Elowen. While one loves and nurtures her, the other tries to keep her within his grasp through various forms of manipulation made to look caring.
The only thing that was a bummer was not having all my questions answered. Nevertheless, that’s what book two is for. Just hope it comes out sometime soon.

@That’s good to hear! I’m familiar with series like that as you have seen on my blog 😌.
Hii! Can i recommend u some books? They’re all historical period romances, unfortunately not monster ones though!
Raven’s rise (a medieval period knight x noble woman)
Never gamble your heart (1840s england governess secret spy x gambling hell owner)
A captain for caroline gray (british colonial india era, ship captain x noble woman)
Hi!
Of course 😊you can recommend books to me! I’m pretty open-minded when it comes to books. Though if I must be honest with you, all these books sound interesting! I’ve only read one historical romance book in all my life (2 if you count the romance between L. Frank Baum and his wife in Finding Dorothy by Elizabeth Letts-Highly recommend if you haven’t).
Link for Finding Dorothy (for fans of the Wizard of Oz and wanting to know more about the woman who helped inspire her husband to write one of the most beloved children’s books written.
Between the three, which would you recommend I start with? Personally, I’m tied between a Raven’s Rise and A Captain for Caroline Gray ☺️.

Book Review #13:
Title: The Chase (Monsters and Beauties Book 5)
Author: Jenika Snow
Genre: winged monster (dragon hybrid?)x human romance, novella, double pov, fantasy, erotica, slowburn, wing/horn play, monsters, paranormal.
Page count: 64
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spicy:🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Snow’s most recent book in this series follows Freydis and Marrex (yes, the first monster character in this series to have an actual name besides being called whatever creature they are).
Though Marrex’s species is never specified, my guess is that he is a dragon hybrid due to physical characteristics; he is large, has wings, and horns just to name a few things.
*If you all happen to read this book before or eventually, what were your thoughts? I did have some other ideas throughout reading but I felt dragon hybrid was the best and most appropriate option I could come up with.
Nevertheless, this story was really sweet! Not only was it the first to give its creature his own unique name but also had the characters experience slow burn with one another making their ending all worth it in the end. I just wish there was more backstory for Freydis.

Looking for a way to cool off this summer? If bear shifters are your thing, then this book is the thing for you? A Snow Queen retelling with a bear shifter king?
Also, if you happen to be interested in and want to continue the bear loving theme:
A Goldilocks and the Three Bears retelling:
Book Review #5:
Title: Claimed by the Bear King: A Snow Queen Retelling (Once Upon a Fairy Tale Romance Book 5)
Author: Jessica Grayson
Genre: The Snow Queen Retelling, bear shifter x human romance, double pov, arranged marriage, steamy romance.
Page count: 228

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spicy:🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
The fifth book of Grayson’s Once Upon a Fairytale Romance Series starts off uniquely from its predecessors. While most of the male main characters were creatures, the main male love interest in this tale is a bear shifter King named Henrick.
Despite his curse preventing him from being able to love anyone, it’s crazy to see how much care he puts in his newly wedded bride, Anna. Therefore, making everything they go through together all the more reason to root for them.

You’re a life saver! I’m going to see if I can try to save this on my reading list on Goodreads.
Have you ever read the "Accidentally Yours" series by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff?
It's a comfort series for me personally, but I'm always happy to suggest it to someone.
I have not 😌! It sounds interesting though. I’ll have to go ahead and add it to my reading list of series to read.
Thank you 🙏 for the recommendation! I will be sure to do so as I finish the current series on my list.
By the way, is there a particular order to go about reading them? Chronologically? Or doesn’t matter?
More likely, I’ll read it in order since that’s what I always but you never know 🤷🏻♀️.

Title: Bound to the Elf Prince A: Snow White Retelling (Once Upon A Fairytale Romance Book 4)
Author: Jessica Grayson
Genre: Snow White Retelling, steamy content, elf x human romance, double pov, arranged marriage.
Page count: 304

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spicy: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Grayson did a good job of keeping the Snow White character (Lyana) feminine as well as ensuring that she is a fighter for her kingdom in her own right. Nevertheless, she’s ready to accept help from those around her—especially her newly married elf husband (Caelen). It was also interesting to see how elements such as the mirror and the apple were utilized in this unique retelling.
Also, loved the continuous call and interactions backs to the main characters from the previous stories. For I can never get enough of Alana and Vernon (the main reason I was able to get into this series in the first place).
