reo has always seen himself as the epitome of a future mikage co. heir. charming, smart, ambitious, and talented, these were all the things he knew himself to be. yet, he gets lost whenever he's in your embrace. forgetting anything he knew himself to be. he isn't the mikage reo, he is just reo, a pathetic whim who cried himself to sleep when you rejected his first confession. he is just reo, who has lost track of how many times made up stories about a bruise from a fall, longing for your comforting kiss. sometimes, he is the charismatic mikage reo, who has your beverage/food order memorized to a t, mikage reo who has a sixth sense for when your supplies run out and buys you everything even before you plan a shopping list.

he would be lying if he said he wasn't afraid. he feared that you would leave him if he appeared too vulnerable, too weak, deeming him useless, reminiscent of his past experiences with his parents and "friends". the thought of not being the best, of being left behind, haunted him. he despised how he almost brought this breakup into existence by constantly thinking about it. your words about how “it was a great time” and that “you would remember him” stung. yet you acknowledged that the relationship had spiraled out of control, turning into a beast neither of you can fathom. it hurt, but it wasn't untrue. he knew it too. he recognized how forceful he had become, how he had squeezed himself into every aspect of your life, yet he didn't stop.

and now, as he sips from his cup, one that you gave him, and one that he never could bring himself to throw away, he couldn't help but wonder if his actions were different. if only he had a chance to change this, it wouldn't end this way. you would still be in his arms, you would still let him be as vulnerable as he can. because now he knew you didn't mind, he would allow himself to show his true self more now that he knew how you really felt about those times. but more importantly, he would punch himself in the face for all those times he messed up everything...

this has been in my mind for a while, the fact that isagi keeps getting called a 'plotsagi, plot armor' have we actually watched the same show? because i feel like no one had actually seen it. it was in fact that isagi was always meant to be a striker, since he was a child he have been ahead of himself and others in his age, he had the ability to be the number one striker from a long time if not since birth.

but if we focused on the light novel, it was like isagi's high school years were the downfall of his egocentric spirit. he was forced to fall and play under the rules of the adults, forced to go against what he was meant to do. plus we notice how 'chill' he is, which was probably him bottling his anger and emotions一which he used to do when playing on the field, but that's another thing he got snatched of一 he went with what everyone liked, what the majority goes isagi follows. most of his life, he lived it for others, turning a blind eye on what was supposed to be his dream.

and if we looked a bit closer to aiku's backstory, he's like a reflection of what isagi's fate might've been. aiku mentioned that adult rules and selfishness withers the youths dreams and passionate, aiku had another chance: it was to be a defence. while isagi's other chance was blue lock. they're more similar if yall looked closely.

the moral of this, isagi was born to be a striker, blue lock just happened to be there to raise him up again to his path.

may or may not be ooc sorry 🙏

he tries to act cool and all, but ends up being a blushing mess the moment your eyes meet.

he's such a hopeless romantic it isn't even funny.

he definitely asks weird questions out of nowhere when conversation dies down, and depending on the mood and setting, it actually ends up as a good icebreaker.

his love language is acts of service (fight me on that, i dare you), but he prefers receiving physical touch since he is touch-starved.

probably feels awkward at first since he didn't have much practice, but once you warm up to it, they're a regular occurrence.

it's a canon fact that he read shojo manga to understand girls better; he probably started genuinely liking it at some point, albeit a bit reluctantly. he will talk to you about them.

he feels bad and guilty when the press starts following you guys around on dates, taking photos and such, especially considering his "playboy" persona in the public eye.

still apologizes to you till this day about it, even though you said it was fine. he doesn't think it is.

his agency kinda warns him to keep a low profile since it's not only harming his reputation but may or may not also harm you in the long run. the last one terrified him when first publicizing your relationship, but it ended up somewhat okay;

obviously, some people just won't accept it with their entitlement towards idols, but most will support you guys.

most likely knows the best spots to hang out since he had done his research about dates and such before.

if you're into something specific, he will go out of his way to try and engage that hobby/interest of yours into your date.

canon fact #2: he is good at housework such as cleaning and cooking, so if you're not, he will happily help you out with anything.

despite how open he seems, he's really closed off and doesn't reveal too much of himself. the feeling of losing someone close is too much for him to handle. if you somehow find a way to open him up, do not expect to leave his life; he is attached to you by the hip now and isn't intending to go anytime soon.

all in all, he's a great person, despite not being perceived as such often. if he falls in love, he will genuinely try his best.

time and noise seemed to stop, the universe paused when your eyes met. he knew he had fallen deeply. it might sound cliché, but that's precisely his perspective. your first interaction only reinforced this feeling…now that you rest in his arms, with a silly comedy movie playing in the background, your laughter is the only thing that holds his attention. he can't belive he can call himself yours

he wasn't sure when everything changed, when his playful "you're annoying's" turned into earnest "i miss you's". he didn't know when he started noticing reminders of you in his surroundings, or when he began instinctively ordering a second drink at the cafe—your exact order, memorized to a t. he couldn't pinpoint when you gradually found a place in his heart, but he wasn't complaining.

from the moment he saw you, he knew you were destined to be part of his life. you fit in so naturally; his friends liked you and it seemed as if everyone around him adored you. and so did he. one might think his love couldn't grow any deeper, but every day, he proves otherwise. he is the man that you cherish, but he cherishes you even more.

this is some scenes that happened between you bllk characters then they remember that you broke up (the brainrot is real):

isagi: was making dinner for two since it was his day, served two plates, removed the unwanted extras from your plate that you didn't like, called you out to eat for a minute, then the realization of you two were broken up hits him like a brick. actually keeps staring at your filled plate and empty place then ruffle his head in frustration.

sae: when he would move too much in his sleep, uncomfortable. so his hand unintentionally keeps searching to embrace you, it was oddly empty, cold. he figured maybe you were in the bathroom? so his teal eyes kept staring patiently at the door, waiting for you to come back so he can cuddle you to sleep already. when you take too long he just realized that you weren't even here to began with. 一ends up hugging a billow to sleep, definitely not a makeshift of you一

reo: accidentally ordered for two, he doesn't even grasp what he had said, it was like a muscle memory he can't erase. only realized when the food came, and it was your favorite alongside. cried himself to sleep while hugging a picture of you that night.

rin: had a bone-chilling nightmare, the second he wakes up sweaty and cold he keeps mumbling your name and heedlessly reaching for you to clasp. soon realized he was actually alone, you weren't there to clutch him out of the cold, harsh world, to bring his heart back to it natural beating. so he sleeps alone that night, he wakes up with a wet billow the next morning for some reason.

nagi: holds the door, realizes you're not even there. kept his eyes clung at what was supposed to be your spot for a while, as if you'll magically appear again and give him a thankful peck for being a gentleman like you always used to. that never happened. stays quiet the rest of the night, probably thinking about something. he never got to tell you that he actually does those 'gentlemanly' stuff just because he'd rather feel your lips against his frigid skin where his heart would bloom ever so lovingly.

chigiri: accidentally bought a shampoo you used to love, since the stores keeps running out of it and that'll ruin your whole week and most importantly: you'd be sad with a sulk glued to your face, he never found a joy in seeing you upset, so he thought he'd surprise you by it. it was a sucker punch when he realized that you two no longer lived together. maybe he used your shampoo once, maybe twice. it was just because he ran out of his, not because he'd be reminded by scent of your hair, where he uses to kiss the most..

Bachira: saw a black cat and a golden retriever cuddling down the street, the first thing that popped up his mind was sending it to you and saying 'us!', keeps searching for your content for half an hour until he remembered you two weren't in contact anymore. in an instant, his eyes were watering and now he was sobbing in the middle of the street. maybe he misses you a little, just a little.

ness: breaking up? tf is that? there's no such thing, you two are locked in for the everlasting, even your soul will be haunted by his

rin: that's hypothermia.

bachira: damn, the paramedics told me it was the magic of christmas.

(some) bllk boys as cuddling partner — a rating list.

bachira — best cuddler/10. big spoon? he loves hugging you! little spoon? he loves being hugged by you! embracing each other, lying side by side while the two of you share whispers and quiet giggles? baby, he could do that all day. if he could, this guy would probably hold your hand or hug you all the time while dribbling a soccer ball. be thankful that's physically impossible because if it isn't nothing stops this bee from doing what he loves. honestly, the champion in this department. go home everyone. when he feels happy it's hug time when he is sad it's also hug time.

rin — if you guys just started out, 2/10. 1 point bonus because he is so stiff it's funny—the best deal you can get is him being a big spoon while sitting and doing something else. if he is focused on just cuddling you it will forgo being awkward to straight up comedic. but once he gets used to it, 7/10. his pride won't let him small spoon but he is a good big spoon. very relaxed around you, hand around your hips, head perched on your shoulder, and so on. the worst part of this is not even bad since it's just him getting the clingier, touch-starved part of him out so yeah. at least have 3 hours reserved for cuddles.

isagi — 10/10 no bias except this one is self-aware. 3/10 when starting out and that's like a bonus point for effort. when it's a short casual hug, it's easy and sweet for him. then put in private space, his shyness that wow turns out is still kinda there when it comes to you, and prolonged hug that becomes his main focus for an extended period then you get a statue instead of a bf. but get him comfy and it's instant 8/10 — is way too insistent and determined on "he needs to see your face :((" sometimes because yes he is accomodating 101 but this is egoist. but very clingy, very soft, very warm, very cuddly, very bf.

sae — when he is napping? you are his hug pillow. but even that is 6/10 because his hold on you is ironclad. and as his hug mostly comes in the form of a backhug—because cool fridge guy thing probably—he is trained to make you comfy. but yeah no escaping this guy. when he is awake though, getting him to cuddle or reciprocate your hug (in public, especially) is already a miracle. when you do though, 4/10 because at least he won't throw you like he will do to everyone else. just accept his fate as your doll. while sighing or flatly glare at anyone who dares to comment.

nagi — the runner-up!!! simply because that's like his natural habitat there. 9/10, minus 1 point because on lazy days, if he doesn't get his cuddle he will whine and become annoying. grubby hand is cute, a giant creature made of muscle putting all of his weight on your back while you try to move around doing your business is not. but other than that, really good as both a little spoon and big spoon. just hold him or let him hold you. he likes you enough that there is 50/50 chance of him completely forgetting his game to cuddle you how downbad is that.
