Miles G having difficulties with tolerating other dimensions is such an interesting concept to me I rarely see people talking about.
Knowing about how specific Earth 42 is, especially when it comes to colours and lightning, I can imagine him partly hating interdimentional travels just because of how different everything is.
He likes the experience and the opportunity to investigate other life aspects, but sometimes evey single dimension he goes to is just too bright. To the point that when he first goes to 1610 in order to visit his brother he has to borrow sunglasses because it literally burns his eyes. And it's evening.
Him confusing brands and companies but not in a "Coca-Soda-Coca-Cola" way, no. In a "Mysterio is now Target" and "Lizard's Chips Company is now Pringles" way. He literally can't recognise any possible name and it's drives him insane.
Him being shocked when he sees how fast internet can be and that it doesn't take 2 hours to send a message, but still taking his usual time to wait because of a habit.
Him not understanding that streets are safe here, that it's okay to walk down the alleys after 10PM, that he doesn't have to be extra careful while talking to strangers just in case they would have a weapon.
Him not being able to get used to the quiet nights because at his home gunshots are the usual background while falling asleep. Him purposely avoiding some places and locations that are dangerous/long-term closed in Earth 42 just to find out they're perfectly good.
Him being a little bit too disappointed when he founds out that not 1610, nor 65, nor even Mumbattan has Batman comics.
All is so unfamiliar to the point it irritates him.

Davis brothers but there's a little more in their past stories than "one was better one the other was worse" or "they were equally hopeless teens until Jeff decided to become a cop".
They both were troubled children messing around in the neighborhood, being either famously unfamous or just thinking they've already hacked the system because of stolen gummy bears pack from the nearest shop (usually both).
But I tend to think there always were some difference between them. Not in terms of "Aaron was a full-time trouble and Jeff always secretly stood on the side of justice" because that's NOT what they were. Instead, I chose to believe that Jeff was just a little bit more looking-forward person that Aaron possibly could be.
He was the one to plan their little criminal shenanigans, he was the one to collect stuff and imagining scenarios in case police finds them and/or they were arrested. Not because he thought that what they're doing is 100% wrong β€” not at the start β€” but because he was the first one to think about his and his brother's future. Just like he decided to focus at this future in the end, deciding to change a side, being grown enough to understand that counting to do what they were doing means slowly digging himself a grave.
Aaron looked at all his papers, all his plans and thoughts and just straight-up laughed, not mockingly but without any belief in that being serious, giving Jeff an uncertain look.
"Hey, did you decide that we're goin to end up in the cell or something? Don't worry about this, bro. Everything is in our hands, remember?"
Jefferson would like to say his brother also knows where to stop. That he also knows the moments were risk is a useless flow of adrenaline, where it's better to wait, to think about what's next.
In reality, he didn't. There's plenty of time, Aaron thought. He thought they were the youth who hacked the system, that everything is so easy, so cool for them that there's literally no reason to worry. He didn't want to worry about the future when it's so, so far away and they're still young and open-minded.
While he has Jeff on his side, everything is going to be okay. Everything is going to be easy because there's nothing they can't go though together.
Aaron called it being optimistic. Growing up, Jeff started to think that he was just blind. Kind of both of them being a trouble, yes, but sometimes Aaron just... didn't have any breaks.
Because time flew by faster then he thought. Because Aaron has digged himself a grave, because he didn't stop thinking in this criminal world deeper and deeper with every second. Because Jeff was his breaks.
Yeah, that how they were.

Thinking about Earth 42 Rio literally breaks my heart everytime.
Imagine being left almost absolutely alone in the new cruel world that falls into pieces in synch with your life.
Imagine having a 15-year-old teenage son as the only courage to exist, to keep looking forward. The only family that remains.
Imagine seeing him silently going through a thunderstorm, seeing his inner spark slowly dying out in a spare of several hours β€” and understanding you can't do anything. Anything more that you're already doing.
Imagine being tired. Constantly tired, and yet having no thoughts about getting a rest because you're the reason this family still staying afloat.
Imagine having a free evening only few times a week, perhaps only one time. Imagine feeling time literally going through your fingers because 24 hours in a day is simply not enough.
Imagine understanding your kid is not actually feeling better. Because you're not feeling better either, because sometimes time doesn't heal.
Imagine understanding that you're both smiling and joking around with other even If it seems like you won't have any power to move the next second because this family moments are so special and you both want them to remain sincere.
Imagine saying that you're ready to talk about anything, anything that he'll say If he wants to share his problems. Imagine seeing him nod and then don't tell you nothing except for rants about "ComicsCon" and school grades.
Imagine being worried about your child to the point it literally hurst without having an opportunity to just let all his struggles away. When all you can do is working and repeating the same sentence over and over again β€” "You can always talk to me If something worries you" β€” because you're his mother. You're not gonna push on him, you don't want to make everything worse.
Imagine understanding his pain because it pains for you exactly the same. Because nothing is the same anymore and will never be.
Because sometimes time doesn't heal.

miles g’s prowler eyes being very flat (as in do not change shape at any point) and constantly confusing others when he’s actually happy or excited bc he sure as hell doesn’t look that way VS the prowler eyes being as emotive as spidey lenses but just slightly smaller so citizens see large white & magenta glowing eyes in the dark and just go β€œhoney the prowler is trying to pet the dog through the fence again”

Because I don't know how Tumblr algorithm works (It happens to be one of the least popular socials in Ukraine, unfortunately) and I don't want my posts to disappear in the dark void but sometimes I really want to post way more stuff till I forget it. Even though the fandom usually sees 42Aaron as a "bad influence" on Miles G or (less often) an ideal father figure or actually a replacement for Jeff, I'm very interested in his characterization as a good person who really wants to help, though not a perfect uncle.
Because, listen to me, 1610 Miles saw Aaron as some kind of unwavering image of coolness, lightness, an alternative way of looking at the world, looking to him more than his own father. And yet Aaron was not the way Miles saw him - he was much harder, much more difficult, much more complex than just a "cool uncle" in the eyes of a rebellious teenage boy.
Now imagine. Jeff has died, and - although they haven't spoken in years and will never be able to again - Aaron knows that the only thing he could ask of his brother is to look after his family, his wife and son. And so Aaron does. Aaron comes to their home almost immediately after the news of his brother's death, he tries to talk to Rio, brings his nephew a couple of old tapes as a gift, and pushes his own heartbreak far away because it is the only way he can thank his brother and shed light on his memory.
He becomes a loyal helper and friend for Rio, and for Miles G, he becomes a mentor, a role model, and a father figure.
But there is a small problem here - Aaron is not a family man. Aaron is not a father. He really thought that he was a good uncle, a cool uncle who could make a child happy, but all of that shattered as soon as he had to actually LOOK after this child.
Because it's one thing when he comes to your house once a month, you eat popcorn, listen to music and talk about school and girls, and then go out to paint graffiti. And it's completely different when you see a little boy literally falling apart and breaking down before your eyes, when you know that he can't sleep at night because he's afraid of nightmares, when you see him exhausting himself, reaching for some unknown goals, trying to grow up as fast as possible to become a person he was never meant to be... and there's nothing - nothing - you can do about it. You don't know how to approach him, how to open up, how to talk to children. Because you have never been able to deal with your own feelings, let alone the feelings of a small child who is just quietly suffering in front of you.
Of course, this does not mean that they do not have good relationships. They have their own local jokes, gags, and inventions. Miles G can spend hours at Aaron's apartment practicing something, and he will pass on his knowledge to him.
But (and Aaron has made sure of this) this does not make him a really good uncle. Because he just doesn't know what it's like to be a full-fledged father figure, a supervisor, how to be anyone beyond being a "cool uncle" - and he blames himself for this more than anyone else, but he just can't seem to learn. He tries to talk to Miles, but every time he meets an iron wall with the code words "I'm fine" that he just CAN'T break through.
He had no experience. He had no normal parents. There was no one who could explain to him how to do it, and the only person who really cared about him all these years is six feet under the ground.
How often do you think he stood by Jeff's mural, muttering a quiet "I'm sorry" to him? Because for the first time in his life, just making and giving money was not enough. Because he can't be the help he wants to be. Because he hates seeing Rio so tired, too, and he knows Jeff would hate it as well, but he can't do anything but hear a clear "no" to every his suggestion about her resting or taking a day off from from work.
How often do you think he's thought Jeff would be angry at him If he knew the role he gave his child, seeing the scars on his face and soul?
How often do you think he's wondered if Jeff would hate him if he found out what he's doing, even though he's doing the best he can.
How often do you think he thinks his "I'm sorry" doesn't mean anything anymore?
That's how I see him.

I know that the idea of Miles G remaining an artist sounds very meaningful and poetic, but I think that fandom often forgets that he is also probably a very good engineer and mechanic.
I mean, do you want to know how his Prowler equipment works? You'll get a full three-hour lecture about every single part. You have the toaster that stopped working in the kitchen? No problem, he can turn it into a new TV. You have something strange or unusual being slightly damaged? Don't even let this guy near with the screwdriver and YouTube DIYs or you'll never see your thing again.
He can spend days drawing new schematics for a mask or gloves, and he wants to disassemble and learn how ANY new device works that he gets his hands on. I can assure you that half of Uncle Aaron's old equipment has been recycled and reworked hundreds of times, even without his permission.
I mean, he really IS good at it. And sometimes a little bit more passionate that he has to. Nerd.

Description:
Screw it. The shadows slowly dissipate around Miles, his sneakers making a couple of soft traces on the remaining gravel without making a sound. He stands a few steps away from the table, gives it a quick, scanning glance, and crosses his arms over his chest. The key is still clutched tightly between his fingers, like some invisible weapon. Miles remains unnoticed for a couple more seconds before gritting his teeth:
"You're doing it wrong."

I already said this once in one of my old posts, but I won't stop until my concepts are noticed.
Since I've always found the contrast between Earth 42 and 1610 to be interesting, I think we're missing out a bit by focusing solely on the Miles.
Because - listen to me - a duo of 1610 and 42 Rio would be something incredible. As would their analyses and comparisons.
They're similar, very similar, to the point where Miles couldn't tell the two apart in the beginning until he realized he was in the wrong universe. Because Rio is an adult, and certain traumatic events affect the character and behavior of adults differently than they do teenagers.
But we cannot say that they are the same. Because traumatic events still influence adults.
1610 Rio is actually a healthy and happy person, wife and mother. She has some worries about her son, how he is growing up and the changes in his character and the people he meets along the way.
42Rio, at the same time, is a completely different story. She is a widow and a single mother who is still dealing with the death of her husband and working much more than she should. Because she is the only person left in the family who can earn money at all. She also cares about Miles (for different reasons, yes) because Miles is the only family she has left.
She's just the most tired woman alive.
And I just need them to sit down in the kitchen with tea, discussing their children for the next three hours in the form of a therapy session.
