1•4•2021 More birthday footage 🎀 was super grateful that my lovely friend kmax planned so many wonderful, COVID conscious, birthday surprises for me, amidst a pandemic. This is my 12th month living with diagnosed and undiagnosed and mostly invisible disabilities. Taking these pictures means a lot to me, on days where I don’t have energy to get out of bed, and days when I keep wondering when and if I’ll have the same abilities that I did at another point in my life. I had a really real fear that my birthday would come and my pain levels would keep me from getting out of bed altogether, but I’m grateful my angels and ancestors aid me in every step and every breath. I’m working on various creative projects right now, and in no rush. For so many years I thought I was “too old,” I spent a decade obsessing over “if only I had stuck with ballet, or piano, followed my dreams and gone to school for fashion design,” and I didn’t. Would I have everything that I have now? Would I be any more or less filled with joy? Thirty. Right where I am, right where I need to be. On some of the days I’ve fought the hardest, fell apart privately, and publicly (namely the G, L, and Q trains), and many more times privately again, to end up here, in love with the person I’ve become. An action word, striving daily, reflecting and renewing. Rejoicing. All in the Creator’s plan.
