Runner's Club #rcfebruary2016
Hi everyone! This is a post to help spread word about our online runner’s club. It is an online community where we share our goals, progress, questions, and advice with other runners! It works by posting under the hashtag #rcfebruary2016 and tracking the tag so you can see other’s posts as well. It is an awesome way to set goals, stay motivated, and make new running friends!
We consider anyone a runner here. Whether you can run .5 mile or 15 miles, you are welcome! We do not judge each other based on distance, speed, etc. we just share and learn from each other :)
All you have to do is post an introduction (name, age, location, experience, picture, whatever!) and track the tag to join.
Can’t wait for another successful month of Runner’s Club! If you want to check out last months, check the tag #rcjanuary
Message me if you have any questions ! Start posting your introduction whenever you feel like and please reblog to spread the word! Thanks !
** make sure you tag your posts with #rcfebruary2016 so others can see & comment on them ** make sure under your blog settings that your posts come up when searched for / under tags

Holy Mother of Hills
So today (29th) and the 27th I actually managed to go check out that new route I mentioned and jesus christ it’s hilly as fuck. The 27th went well, but today for some reason, on the first hill, I couldn’t find my pace and ended up crapping out and having to walk part of it. I don’t really know what happened there, but I ran the rest of them and made up for it. Maybe I shouldn’t have gone running right after a bowl of pasta....
Really what this taught me is that I gotta work on my hill pacing, and to be honest, my pacing in general. It’s pretty sucky. I gotta get better.

RC Check in!
Today’s 5k was a fairly steady paced uneventful run - though I missed the turn off of the new route I was supposed to be checking out today, thinking that it was actually the next one coming. Turned out there was no next one coming, so I ended up having to double back on myself. ^^;;; Ahhhh
I think I’m going to go ice my knees now. Ive been thinking of trying out some new stretches for after my runs too, I always do pretty basic ones and they do me fine, but I think I need to work on that and my flexibility, because that will help me both as a runner, a cyclist, and in general. No clue where to start with that but I guess google can do me some help.
Hope everyone else is getting on well!!

You go!!! :D

Good a great 5k in yesterday! So glad that I could do that after my spraining my toe a few days back. I really enjoyed it and could have run some more but stopped because I didn’t want to tax my poor toe 👍🏼
Still, damn proud of me! 💪🏼💪🏼

Getting back on it!
After a long period of sickness, my running took a major backseat, so I’m pleased to say I managed to complete my first run of the year! It was an easy 5k to get back to it. I’d gotten up to do it in the morning, but it was raining so much that I decided to give myself until 2 to see if the rain would peter off a bit. If it didn’t I was going anyway, rain be damned. It’s not that I dislike running in rain (actually, I quite enjoy it) it’s more that I hate the huge cold feeling I always get /after/ the fact.
But anyway, I waited it out, and by 2 the rain had stopped. This was my chance! So I grabbed it, and went out. It was ammmaaazzziiinnngg!! The sun had started to come out, and I truly think today’s one was one of the most empowering and enjoyable runs I’ve ever had. It’s funny how that happens sometimes. Plus as I was running a man called to me that he liked the colour of my hair (it’s bright pink) so that pleased me :D

I just finished my first run of the month! It's super fun to be participating even if it's just at the end :'D
I had to miss run club January because of illness :( would anyone be up for a runner’s club february?! I’d love to participate and I find it so much easier to motivate myself when I feel like I have people to do it with. I can do the end of January but I really love the idea of a community of runners QWQ <3

Ohhh that’s a good idea! The year will definitely help to archive our efforts :D And yeah the community aspect is so nice - I like feeling like there’s people to help me along (and maybe to help along too?) and everyone cheering for each other is great :D

Runner’s Club
Hello, remember way back when to last year when we did a runner’s club type thing?!
Pretty much, we just made our own hashtag (#runnersclubMONTH), introduced ourselves/goals, then posted under the hastags with pictures & updates about our runs/goals/ lives.
Look up #runnersclubaugust or #runnersclubseptember for examples
Would anyone be interested in doing this again starting in January!?
Here is my trying to tag everyone who participated before but it was a lot of people so please forgive me if I miss you :)

okay I didn’t finish going through the tag but I’m tired of tagging people. If anyone is interested in starting up a runner’s club hashtag again let me know :-)

The way I was dealing with food was getting obsessive and unhealthy. I think I developed a binge eating issue. I’ve been taking some time to consider this within myself and have decided a change is in order. Rather than what I was doing, I’m going to start calorie counting, and see where that gets me. I hope it’ll work better for me, and that I can develop a healthy attitude towards food and myself.
Aiming for health is hard. I keep seeming to hit new rocks at every turn. I really want to be healthy but it always seems just outside of my grasp. I haven’t even been exercising lately because I’ve been ill (again) and I just. NGH.
I want to be healthy and that is what I’m aiming for.
I will get there.
I just wish that I could just. Get there. Without having either my physical or mental health throwing me under the bus.

Thoughts about my journey
I love that my jeans fit better now, and that I can shop in any place I want
I love that my body can run further than it could before
and cycle
and walk
I love looking down and seeing my toes, not my belly
and I love watching my muscles develop
I feel like I am growing as a person
I love that I can eat sweets and not worry or feel bad (though sometimes I still do)
I’m getting better at not feeling bad

Ever since I got my fitbit I’ve been using the fitbit app to log my food intake, and omg it’s so helpful??? I still use fitocracy to log my exercises and such, but for food, wow. Full disclosure, I don’t count calories, and that is a part of the fitbit thing but I kinda ignore it because I’m on a food optimising plan that negates the (for me) mildly obsessive calorie counting. HOWEVER, I LOVE the under budget, in the zone, over budget thing the fitbit app has going on! I’m someone who boredom munches, and that’s not ennntirely a problem, but it can be when it’s very uncontrolled which can be how I am, so checking the app to see if I am actually hungry (I seriously have issues telling the difference) or just bored really helps. :’D From there I can make informed decisions rather than just dithering and making myself miserable. Ah it’s great.
