A Reflection on 2023

Dear Nethyzens,

First and foremost, this is NOT a graduation letter. I mainly wanted to share my thoughts and feelings about 2023 in writing. 2023 was a year of experimentation. It was bumpy but with many good highlights:

I started out on Twitch on 1/1/2021 and streaming weekly til 7/15/2023. I officially moved to Youtube and streamed when possible. 

At around the end of 2022, I was interviewed by Ducky for a Dexerto article, How Vtubing helps trans creators explore gender identity safely. Thank you Ducky!

I joined nullptr::live at the end of March and started the Vtuber Seminar, starting with Coding with Luna. It was my first stream that reached 1k views!

I was a guest panelist at Anime Fest Dallas 2023 for the panel, LGBTQIA+ Expression & Representation in Vtubing, alongside Zane, Marina, Mika, and Ren. Thank you Mika for inviting me!

It was wild how much I got done despite working full-time and not streaming much. Initially, when writing this, I thought I haven’t done a lot. But in a way, I did so much more than I thought possible.

However, a part of me feels like I could have done better especially in regards to prepping my redebut. But since there’s no determined date, I will focus on making this as best as it can be within reasonable means next year. 

For 2024, I’m continuing my experimentation. I will be moving from streams to edited video content, both short and long form. Scripts will be written out and I may host Discord calls where I’m actively working on videos instead of streaming. After seeing how my first Vtuber Seminar did, I learned that is my strength as a content creator - bringing knowledge to people whether it’s me bringing a guest who is an expert or me sharing my own research. If I do stream, it’d be to continue the Vtuber Seminar series. 

I will also be focusing on growing my Discord community - I realized that as a content creator, I want to be a community leader. I want to inspire more people to try out vtubing and game development. I want to encourage people to be the best version of themselves. Since I won’t be streaming games as much, they will be moved to Community Game Nights - focusing on the core appeal of my gaming streams, hanging out with people. Lastly, for my redebut, I will be putting easter eggs throughout my video content next year. What this means is that lore will be sprinkled throughout my video content. I encourage you to hypothesize and theorize. Although, technically, there have been hints since when I first announced my redebut. Good luck piecing it all together, Nethyzens.

✨️ Our ancestors before the Spaniards arrived wore gold and passed them down through the generations, regardless of social class. They even crafted bowls, liquid vessels, and the hilts and covers of daggers and swords out of gold.

They buried these ornaments with the dead so that they could use it in the afterlife and as a token to give the spirit or deity to leave purgatory. They also covered the faces of the dead with gold death masks to protect them from evil spirits entering the body.

Numerous Spanish accounts record that they wore gold and buried their dead with gold bahandi, or heirlooms. From Antonio Pigafetta, Francisco Alcina, Pedro Chirino, Friar Bobadilla and within the Boxer Codex Manuscript. Together with historical accounts, archeological finds of gold artifacts from Luzon, the Bisayas, and Mindanao show how much our pre-colonial ancestors wore and used gold in their clothing, divine figures, and everyday wear, similar to the rest of Southeast Asia.

Gubat Banwa: THE SULTANATE OF AKAI

LUNAR KNIGHTS. CHIVALROUS POETS. FAITHFUL PANDITA. One of the most powerful mahamandalas in Gubat Banwa, conquering in their Divine Striving for Goddess, is inspired by the various Sultanates of Southeast Asia! STRIVE EVERMORE FOR GODDESS: AKAI!

While Akai is host to a huge number of religions, their culture and allied polities are skewered through with belief and utmost reverence for The Most High Baginda, BAGINDA SUMONGSUKLAY, which is not her name but a descriptor as the Crescent Moon.

Akai reverses the use of God and uses "Goddess" instead. They are a primarily matriarchical culture, and they believe that Goddess lives on the Moon. The Moon is the most important thing in the universe: it is the hole that leads into the True Space of Goddess.

Akai is intensely researched and inspired by popular Postclassical Southeast Asian societies: Malacca, Johore, Maguindanao, Sulu and more. They are raiders far and wide, and fight so that all of Gubat Banwa will know of the providence of Goddess.

Their faith, AGMA DAMLAG, is inspired by Southeast Asian Islam, which is skewered through with mixtures of local folklores and legends, making it different from "pure" Islam. It is filled with mysticism, jinns, and devil dancers.

Their Disciplines are focused on overwhelming and protecting, on defense. They are the unbreakable ones, after all! They are also inspired by Islamic Chivalry notes: it is the Sultanates that house the most court romance, poetry, and chivalry.

BEAST HUNTERS are those that turned the common profession of hunting in the Isles into an actual martial art. Out of necessity: Beast Hunters are quick and debilitating. According to their Faith, they cannot allow their dogs to bleed the prey before they do.

the MARTYRS are warriors that go into battle in a fierce death battle trance, always ready to die for their convictions. they get stronger as the fight goes, and their techniques let them strengthen their attacks, throw their giant weapons, go into holy rage, and wield juru pakal

SARIMANOK KNIGHTS are true chevaliers who wield the strength of the sarimanok--a revered omen bird that is integral to many cultures of the sword isles--to punish and smite those that would force them to kneel! they can fly upon sarimanok, or be imbued with the holiness of one

STRIFESINGERS sing the grand dirge of Gubat Banwa, as it revels in violence. they are constantly singing: they have a burst 2 aura that constantly heals and gives buffs, and they can put down grand songs that manipulate allies and the battlefield!

warriors that summon the knights of the sea: churning the waters with swordfishes and sharks are a common element in seasian folk tales. the swordfish cavalier is the purest representation of that, allowing them to manipulate water, turn into water, or summon the moon
