Meet the Artist: @blackburrie
Hi! I’m BlackBurrie (Apollo) and I’m a second-generation Korean American artist. I’m trying new things with my art and trying to survive college and beyond. My biggest goal is to fully develop my magical girl series called Project MAGICK. I love vivid colors, anything magical, and my friends.
Nice to meet you, BlackBurrie! They have shared some of their art pieces below for you all.

Meet the Artist: @joshualunacreations
Hi, I’m Joshua and I’m a professional comic book writer and artist. I co-created three series at Image comics: Ultra, Girls, and The Sword. After I went solo with my Image series Whispers, I started making online comic strips exploring my Filipino/Asian American identity and experiences. What began as a side project and organic outlet to process my thoughts and feelings turned into a seven-year journey that continues to this day. The more I write and draw, the more I realize I have to say—especially with the sharp increase in anti-Asian violence against AAPI and the institutional censorship that prevents us from addressing it adequately. I was told by my publisher that I wasn’t talking about AAPI issues in the “right way” because I tackle difficult, complex, and painful truths about Asian America. Despite these barriers, I’m determined to collect these strips into a book and publish them as Americanizasian. In the meantime, you can follow and share my work online and support me by pledging to my Patreon or donating to my PayPal. Happy APAHM!
Pleased to meet you, Joshua! He has shared some of his comics below for you all.

I made it just in time! My contribution for AAPI month: Immy in a Filipiniana inspired by gumamela (hibiscus)
it’s not the Philippines’ national flower, but it’s nostalgic to me as it was the flower that grew in front of my childhood home before we immigrated to the US. I thought the petals would make a beautiful skirt

These images were taken in the Philippines during the Spanish-American War, likely shortly before the start of the Philippine-American War, in 1898-99. They are part of an album that documents the experiences of Frank Freeman Atkinson, Sergeant in Battery D, US Army.
The Philippine-American War broke out when the United States annexed the Philippines after the Spanish–American War, which began when the Philippines revolted against Spanish rule, rather than acknowledging the Philippines' declaration of independence. The war resulted in over 200,000 Filipino civilian deaths, mostly due to disease and famine. Some estimates go as high as one million civilian deaths. After several delays, the United States eventually granted full Philippine independence in 1946 through the Treaty of Manila.

Poppy Kealoha in a field of pua kala - the only type of poppy native to Hawaii 🌸
I’ve had this idea in mind for a while but was holding off on making it until AAPI month since I thought it’d be a nice tribute to the beauty of Hawaii. That being said I don’t really have any more H:PII related art ideas right now & my brain’s not in peak hyperfixation mode so this will probably be my last big H:PII art post for a while. Anyways we love you Poppy you’re doing great sweetheart
(reshares appreciated ^^)
