yeah, i had asked this back in my first semester of college before i had friends outside of my church, then a couple weeks into the spring semester i met a great DM that is now my best friend who gave me the freedom to explore who i am through my character.

oh and now i’ve joined the theater department so i’ve never felt more loved and accepted

I think that I may be non-binary/agender, but I know my parents won’t understand, so I just vibe as it is with my assigned pronouns because it doesn’t bother me, though I am considering trying different ones at college where my parents won’t know

honestly give it a dry run with one of your close friends, see if you like that identity with them. If it feels right, then open up to more people about it if you want, otherwise you can just tell your friend nevermind and since they're a close friend they will understand. whatever you're thinking, whatever you're feeling, whatever's happening -- it's valid, it's real, and i will support you no matter what <3

In case anyone is interested, here is what I wrote on it.

I don’t know if anyone has ever had an oc randomly dump their backstory into your head, but it’s a really weird feeling for a character to suddenly become a lot more realistic when you’re just trying to go about your day.

For me the one that hit me the hardest was when my oc’s abusive dad suddenly became a person instead of a concept. Like it makes more sense now why he is the way he is without justifying it

wth, i literally just saw this post on pinterest, now i’m here for the first time in 18 months and this is one of the first things on my feed?

I just reada really good fic but halfway through I realized "oh shit this is really familiar.... didn't I write something like this once?" And as I kept reading I kept predicting what happened next and the further I went the more convinced I was that they'd ripped off my story-

like, copied the ENTIRE plot and re-written it, just better than I had? The characters were more fleshed-out than mine were, and the POV was more interesting, and the pace made more sense- but it was MY STORY?

So close to the end I was like "holy shit.. do I message them? Ask if my story inspired theirs? Should I be angry? Flattered?" Cause their tags and description didn't mention me AT ALL, which, sure, it's fanfiction to begin with, but if you're using my work than at least credit me as inspo, right? Just to be courteous?

But I get to the end of the final chapter, and it's not finished, and I'm kind of disappointed cause I never finished my story and I was really immersed in their version now and had been looking forwards to seeing how they tied up my loose ends- so I scroll to the bottom to leave a comment, and.
