Look at me go!
(Hajime Iwaizumi x Female Reader)
Author’s Note: This is the sequel to “It’s hard not to look”
In which Iwaizumi keeps trying to talk to you first. But despite all his tries, you end up talking to him instead.
Days later, Iwaizumi wandered around the library. He’d been trying to study. Afterall, he had some shit to do, all scribbled down on a yellow sticky note in his pocket: Number One, Finish Studying for that Math test. And Number Two, Finish up his college Essay.
Two very important things.
So he wasn’t exactly sure why he couldn’t focus. Well, he was, but the last thing he wanted to admit to himself right now was that his years of work and discipline were all being unraveled by a girl.
Yin Lyn. A girl in his class who he’d been taking more interest in lately.
And right now he was in the same building as him, and it was completely unplanned, and he didn’t quite know what to do about it.
“Library. In a library there’s… books.” He mumbled, eyes frantically searching for something to read, or at least pretend to read while she sat there on a bean bag chair.
Were books his thing? No. But he’d be damned if he didn’t at least try to talk to her.
He’d given himself multiple countdowns. So many that he feared he might not remember any number that wasn’t 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, or 1.
He could feel his heart skipping beats. Ugh. He swore he was normal before, but then she’d come along, and now his nervous system was shooketh.
The rest of the year came and went, and occasionally, they’d see each other in the halls, neither brave enough to talk to the other.
Eventually, happy locker meet ups turned into bittersweet memories the third years were all trying to hold onto. And before he knew it, it was Graduation.
He swatted at his mom’s fussy hand good-naturedly. “Mom, I promise it’s fine.” He said, holding her pinkie like old times. She nodded, a proud smile painted over her lips with her lipstick.
“I know. But with you going to college in the States, well… I just… want to spend as much time as I can with my little boy.” She said, tearing up slightly. Hajime smiled, opening his arms to hug his mother for what wouldn’t be the last time. He knew that. So did his mom, but to make her feel better, he’d hug her for as long as she needed. Until-
“Iwa?” A voice he hadn’t heard in awhile. Too long. Way too long. He turned to see her. Yin. wearing a dress that accentuated just how much she’d grown in these three years. “Hey! It’s nice to see you again.” She said, bowing to his mother, with a smile that confirmed something was wrong with his heart. He’d need to ask his father.
“Hey, So…” he said awkwardly. “Hi.” She giggled, making his organs backflip.
“Hi.” She looked around. “So. This is it, huh? We’re finally graduating.” Her eyes turned back to his.
“uhm. Yeah. Crazy, huh?” He said lamely.
“Yeah. Feels like just yesterday it was first year.” She said, tilting her head at him.
His mother looked between us, and smiled. “I’m going to go get snacks. Would you like anything, Hajime?” He shook his head, and she smiled, patting my shoulder before she left.
“I-I’m good. Thank you.” He said, glancing at his mother in slight panic. She gave him a reassuring smile, and walked off.
The two newly-graduated teens looked from each other to the ground, with shy smiles, and fidgeting hands.
“Uh, so… did you uhm… end up deciding where you’re going?” She asked. She tilted her head as he kept smiling at her, not reacting.
“Iwa?” She asked, tilting her head, and waving her hand in front of him with a small laugh.
“what?” He asked, cheeks burning. “I’m so sorry. Could you r-repeat that?” He asked. I laughed.
“Which school did you end up picking?” She asked, nudging him gently.
“Oh, uhm, UC-“ He was cut off by a very hyper Oikawa flinging his arms around him dramatically.
“IWA-CHAN, WE’RE GRADUATING.” He sobbed, Hajime groaned internally.
“Yeah, I know, it’s really sad, blah, blah, blah.” He said, trying to get his currently-irritating best friend off his back. He’d gotten into UCI. He’d also forgotten to tell her.
“Uhm, Iwa? I’ve got to go.” She said, looking back at her own parents and friends. She looked back at the boy she’d yet to get out of her head. “See you later, okay? You have my email, right?” He nodded.
“Yeah, totally.” He said, struggling to get his clingy annoyance off of him.
“See you later?” She said, walking backwards towards her friends as he sighed.
“Yeah. Later.” He stood, watching her walk off and laugh, until he felt Oikawa’s knee in his ribs, and he lost it, scrambling to get him away.
“Can you get off?!?” He asked peevishly.
“What, I was helping! Oikawa huffed, crossing his arms. Hajime massaged his temples, taking deep breaths.
“Exactly how does that help?”
“It shows her how gentle and caring you are! And loyal.” Oikawa said, with all the confidence of a flat-earther saying exactly why the globe is pancake-shaped. Hajime, however, didn’t have the massive amount of patience needed to explain to him how that was wrong, and instead shook his head.
“I’m not gonna miss this when you’re in Argentina.” He muttered, and Oikawa grinned.
“You love me, Iwa-chan! Besides, pretty sure she’s going to California too, isn’t she? There’s no way you two won’t meet at least once.”
For once, he couldn’t help but desperately hope and pray that the universe would put them in each other’s paths again.
6 months later…
Iwaizumi’s eyes fixated on small words, and buildings, his brain translating what was on the piece of paper to what he was seeing in real life. He had wanted to walk through his classes- both to help him practice his english, and figuring that would help him practice his English a little more, but so far, no such luck.
“okay, so if this is here- then-“
He glanced up, confused, then looked back down at the unhelpful guide.
“what in the-” suddenly, he was knocked off balanced, his map fluttering to the floor as he got a good look at what, or who he’d bumped into.
A flurry of embarrassed apologies came flying at him as he crashed to the ground. However, there was something different about this one. He couldn’t help the grin that spread across his face.
“Wait- sorry, Sorry!” The girl scrambled to cover for the lingustic mix-up she’d made. “I-“
“So, you ended up choosing UCI then?” He interrupted in English, as the girl he’d been so sure he needed to forget looked up. Yin seemed to freeze as he gazed at her, a small smile playing on his lips
“O-oh-! Hi!” She said, fidgeting a little with a book that had slid out of her empty bag.
“Hi.” He said, the small smile morphing into a grin. Maybe it was because he’d finally talked to her. Maybe it was she, of all people that he ran into here, but mentally, he couldn’t help allowing himself a little celebration.
“Look at me go.” He cheered internally, as he handed her one of her pens.
Yeah. This year was gonna be good.

Reblogging because tomorrow’s the day I finish chemistry!
(The subject I will forever despise, because not only did I fail the class, but I had to do summer school because of it)
Sneaky Kitty- (Kuroo Tetsuro x Fem! Reader)
This popped into my brain because Chemistry is kind of sucking, soo...
"Oh, Kuroo, Hello. Did you have a question about the lab report?" The boy froze, wide eyes meeting his teacher's before sliding into an easy smirk.
"No, I just uhm... wanted to offer to help with, tutoring." He said, looking around the classroom to suddenly find you, your curiosity-ridden eyes, now dull with confusion and something a little more fiery. He grinned at his teacher, and she nodded.
"Oh, well in that case, mind helping Yin?" She asked, leaning her chin in her palm. "I think she's a bit lost on conversions." You looked up at hearing your name, and you gave a little jump when you spotted the attractive volleyball captain. Kuroo's heart almost melted at how nervous you seemed, and he gave the teacher a nod, subtly adjusting his backpack strap.
"I'm always up to helping my fellow classmates." He said, strolling over to your table, where you were trying to set up your conversions. You gave a disbelieving scoff, scooting your chair away as he looked over your face before glancing down at your calculations. You tempered your annoyance, trying to learn from the guy who surely hadn't been willing to help you out earlier in the day, when he'd flirting with one of your friends in the class.
"Always up to help" my butt.
You scoffed internally.
Author's Note: I'm currently struggling with chemistry right now, and I have to fight the urge to capitalize the word "chemistry" because at this point, aside from a stupid boy, it's the main antagonist in my life :)
Anyway, hope you enjoyed!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUGA!!!
Koushi Sugawara was my first love in Haikyuu. Couldn’t tell you why, couldn’t tell you how, but I was drawn to him.
so here’s two headcannons for my favorite number two 🤣🤣
1.) Suga was one of those kids you never gave scissors to, simply because he was too much of a wildcard.
“Sugawara, what are you about to do with those?” His teacher asked cautiously. And Suga, sweet, sweet Sugawara Koushi, lifted them up- somehow holding them backwards and upside down- asking in the most innocent way he could smiled up at the teacher, with his two missing teeth:
“What?”
2.) Similarly, when he gets older, because his mom taught him how to hold a knife, and she’s left handed, he holds it kinda like a murderer, and he scares EVERYONE. But he’s always like:
“What? This is just how I hold it. I guess I’ve never thought of it as weird.” Asahi’s eyeing both Suga, and the sharp metal edge in his hand. Daichi’s scooting away. He knows that this could either go really badly or really well, and he’s too tired to see which one it is- especially since Suga’s now trying to cut his birthday cake.
“Just don’t commit any crimes, and we’re good.”

THE SEQUEL: Look at me go! (Hajime Iwaizumi x Reader)
Coming June 20th
It's kind of hard not to look (Hajime Iwaizumi x Reader)
In which you wonder why Oikawa gets fangirls, and his hot best friend doesn't.
Also, I've been wanting to write for this guy, so my Iwa readers and writers, lemme know how I did, because this was very fun :)
Dividers by @anitalenia
Warning: Slight mention of blood, and A little rushed.
"Your lip is bleeding." My eyes shot up to my friend, who smirked at me as my focus soon drifted back over to the boy who I'd been harboring a secret crush on since our second year of middle school. My tongue flicked across my lip tasting the salty iron of blood, and pretending to focus on my notes. She sighed. “when are you finally gonna tell him? This is getting ridiculous, y’know. It’s been four years.” She said, turning back to her notes, and focusing way better than I ever could.
“it is fully logical, thank you very much!” I defended, eyes rolling, before cursing quietly as I realized I was just highlighting all over my notes, not actually paying attention to said notes.
“yeah, it’s perfectly logical to not talk to the guy you like.”
“wellI haven’t seen you try to make a move on Oikawa, what’s your excuse?”
“please.” She snorted. “Everyone wants a piece of that. His eyes, his hair, that intense look he gets in his eyes when he’s about to serve.” A soft sigh fell from her lips. But I saw the twitchy smile in her lips. “What I wouldn’t give…” she murmured, putting a dramatic hand to her forehead.
“Ew” I said, my nose scrunched as I nudged her.
“My point is, he has countless fangirls.” She said, looking down at her notes, and copying some from mine. "You know there's no room in that mess for a real relationship." She pointed out, sighing softly. Her face was turned away from mine, and I took the chance to steal a glance at Iwaizumi again. How can anyone look so cute when they're annoyed? My eyes darted to his best friend next, looking him over. He was cute I guess, but I didn't see the appeal in someone just being physically attractive. I saw Oikawa's eyes move over here and I froze. Crap. Did he see? I stayed looking over at him, before realizing it wasn't me, he was looking at. I felt a small smirk tug at my lips. I looked between Oikawa and the mess of a girl sitting next to me. I knew she had a crush on him, but now, something was telling me that it wasn't so one-sided anymore. What changed though? That's my question... She turned back to face me, cheeks a little pinker than usual.
"Your face is-"
“i know. We're not talking about it. Another point I'm trying to make is that I know is that your man is free. And has been single all of high school! Come on, just go talk to him!” She whisper-hissed just as the bell rung. My eyes shadowed his tall, unsurprisingly buff figure to his seat, a dopey smile on my face, before I felt a familiar sting against my arm. I glared at the snickering girl, turning back to face the teacher as he started the lesson.
Maybe one day I will go talk to him. For now, I’m just left to wonder why everyone goes for Oikawa when Iwaizumi is right there. With his quiet discipline, and attentiveness to almost every detail, wether it be in that trash panda Oikawa or in any one of Seijoh's matches. Plus, he has those olive eyes I would willingly wrap myself up in, that spiky hair that I would give anything to run my hand through just once. And those lips I would- He turned around to look at me and I looked back, surprised, and I think my heart actually skipped a beat, Who knew that was physically possible? He smiled at me and it's a good thing I'm standing because my legs would've turned to jelly.
I sat there smiling like an idiot until I felt the familiar thwack! against my arm, as well as noticing his subtle hints to pay attention to the teacher. My eyes trailed around the classroom. It's not just Iwaizumi who's looking at me, which means- I smiled sheepishly at the teacher, who was currently staring at me in that special disapproving way that told me if I didn’t answer soon, I was in trouble. I noticed movement in my peripherals, and my eyes fixated on that. Iwaizumi’s hand showing me numbers under his table. He repeated the same numbers again, and I glanced at the board before my eyes lit up, spotting the equation. Bleh. Math... wait. One... Four... oh wait! My eyes widened and I sat up straight. “Oh, uh, 14! X=14!” I said hopefully, and the teacher smirked, knowing full well that I wasn't paying attention, even subtly glancing between me and the object of my terrible crush.
"Nice save." The teacher commended, eyes subtly darting to Iwaizumi, before he turned back to the green chalkboard... Green... Iwa...My eyes drifted to the back of his head, occasionally writing down a stray phrase or two. However, after taking a small break ot take some actual notes, I spotted him looking back at me. Why is he looking at me? My stomach lurched with butterflies. Please don't be looking at me... I glanced back over. Instantly knew I was a goner. He wasn’t looking at me, thankfully, instead looking at the teacher (Lucky bastard.) like the good student he was....
but the way the sun streamed through the window? Yes, while it was blinding, also made him look that much more attractive. It brought out the green in his eyes, made his jawline look more pronounced. IS he smiling? My cheeks flushed warm when his eyes met mine, and my stomach flipped again, eyes darting back to my notebook. I felt another sting of pain looking to my friend with a slight murmur of annoyance.
“Told you shouldn’t ogle.” My friend whispered, poking me with a #2 pencil and grating on my nerves with a familiar 'Called it' smirk.
“i know… it’s just…" My eyes trailed back to his, heart skipping yet another beat when mine met his. "Its hard not to look…” I breathed.
Maybe that someday was a little closer than I thought. Sure he was hot, and yeah, it was a little intimidating. He was a little intimidating.
But a little intimidation, or even potential awkwardness...
It's worth it to get a good look, right?

Iwaizumi x Reader- Iwaizumi Day
Warnings: Possible OOC, bad cooking.

As soon as he got home, he knew something was wrong. It was too quiet, and your shared dog wasn’t waiting for him when he got to the door.
“Gorgeous?” He called into the apartment. As soon as we walked into the kitchen, he sighed, shaking his head with a fond smile. The stove was on, overhead lights illuminating the burnt pancakes and the mess of syrup you’d tried to pour over them. The sink was-in it’s defense, cleaner than usual, and you? Well, you were on the floor, curled up in a ball, holding your squirming little puppy you’d both decided to name Goofy.
You looked up at him with glassy eyes. “I’m sorry.” You said in a voice so unstable neither one of you could pretend to ignore the fact you were crying. Not that he’d let you.
“what’s wrong?” He asked, settling next to you.
“I tried to make you a birthday present. Y-you said you wanted pancakes earlier this week, but y-you also said you wanted a clean sink-“” You took a shaky breath as more tears flowed. “S-so I tried to d-do both- a-and usually it works, b-but-“ you blubbered, and he shook his head, cradling your cheeks.
“Thank you baby.” He whispered, pressing his forehead to yours.
“Wh- b-but I didn’t get to-“ He shook his head, nuzzling your cheek.
“You tried, didn’t you? That’s enough for me.” My lip jutted out and you tried not to let the tears start up again.
“You’re so perfect.” You said, cuddling into him. He smiled, pecking your cheek.
“Aww, thanks.” He teased. “Now, how about we clean this up together, huh?” He said, popping to his feet and holding out his hand.
You took it, grinning up at him, giving him a quick kiss to his lips. “Okay. But wait is- is that what you want to-“ he cut you off by returning the favor with a quick kiss.
“What I want to do is spend time with the love of my life.” He said earnestly, olive eyes shining with adoration. “You’re my greatest birthday present, dork.” He looked around. “And hey, for my next birthday, maybe don’t try to cook anything?”

Happy Iwa day everybody!

You weren’t looking for Oikawa. You weren’t one of his fangirls. You were just his seatmate, you barely knew what his favorite color was, but… something was up with him. He wasn’t smiling- well he was- but it was a fake smile. A smile you prided yourself on not seeing often. But you saw it from the first class all the way up to the last bell, and it was…
Concerning to say the least.
As the sun started to set, you steolled along campus, when you heard the lonely sound of a ball slamming to the ground. Which was weird because when you stepped into the gym, the lights were off
“Oikawa?” You called into the dark gymnasium. No answer. You knew it was him. No one who had access to the gym hit the ball quite that hard.
“i promise I won’t give you shit for this. You probably get enough from Iwaizumi.” You said, letting out a huff of laughter, just shy of sheepish, as you sat on the ground, the moonlight melting into the dark room, and letting you get a better look at your surroundings. After a few more minutes in silence you tried again, shifting your gaze to the ground. “You wanna tell me why you’re practicing in the middle of a dark gym? Or should I guess?” You asked, tilting your head as your fingers traced little shapes into the ground.
A sigh slid from his lips as he crawled into the moonlight. Hesitating before he fully crawled over to you. He flopped down on his back and staring at the ceiling.
“What’s up buttercup?” He lifted his head, giving you a confused look. Your lips quirked up. “What’s wrong?” You asked, crawling closer, and laying back so you laid head to head with him.
After laying in silence, he sighed again “she broke up with me.” He said. And you paused. First because she had broken up with him, and no one had expected that. Everyone knew he was dating someone, but the second, and decidedly more important thing:
His voice was different. Typically it didn’t sound so broken… it didn’t sound so confused either.
“She- Oh. I’m so sorry. That- that sucks.” You said. “Do you want to tell me about it?” You asked. It wasn’t as if anyone was expecting you back home, and you wanted to make sure he was okay. After a little more silence you shifted a little. “Or we can just talk about nothing?” He rolled onto his stomach, resting his chin on his hands.
“Talk about nothing huh? Like how?” He asked curiously.
“well…” you didn’t know where to start. You didn’t know if it was the right place to start, but you’d try anyway.
“What’s your favorite color?”

a writing competition i was going to participate in again this year has announced that they now allow AI generated content to be submitted
their reasoning being that "we couldn't ban it even if we wanted to, every writer already uses it anyway"
"Every writer"?

Ya’ll have no idea how excited I am to almost be out. But exams. Apologies if I don’t post as often as I’d like, but I am planning some sequels, and some new things. Tell me who you’d like to see! I can’t wait to keep writing, and if you’re also on the brink of exams, then good luck to you :)

okay, so lwk, I completely forgot what this was about. However! I will still write something on the characters if y’all could give me some tips on what you’d want with said characters?
Uh..
I may have an idea…
Leave some Haikyuu Characters in the comments for me to write for, because this idea could be cute if I do it right.

I sat with my eyes trained on a certain dark haired boy, my thoughts getting even darker as I watched him talk to a pretty redheaded girl.
“Still pinin’?” Atsumu asked quizzically. My cheeks warmed up a little as I glared at him.
“Shut up- it’s just- he’s just-“ i rolled my eyes. “It’s whatever.”
“Y’know he likes you, right?” I shook my head, glaring at him.
“Shut up Tsumu, he absolutely doesn’t. My psyche doesn’t need the falsities, thanks.” My head fell into my hands as I glanced up into his deadpan eyes. Ones I had always known how to make light up. Or at least used to.
I lifted my hand. “Hey, Sunarin.” The boy waved, and we went for the handshake we had made up when we were younger. “Oh, did you ever start on that Project?” I asked him, and he groaned.
“Crap. I totally forgot, Sorry, Yinnie. I’ll get the notes to you later, okay?” I nodded, eyes flitting away as I bit into the Onigiri Samu made. The flavors partied on my tastebuds, yet somehow, I wasn’t nearly as cheerful.
“So! You and the transfer student, huh? Is she nice? She looks nice.”
“She looks a lot more than ‘nice’ Yin.” Atsumu said, clearly checking her out while I felt an old scab reopen.
Watching the eyes of not only the twins, but everyone on the Volleyball team as they found people they were attracted to. It instilled a deep sense of insecurity. Being around pretty people and watching how others react to them? Not only that, but not seeing the same reactions when you do the same things? It messes with you. And as Atsumu checked out the new girl, I instantly felt myself scrutinizing her, trying to figure out what was so wrong with me, and what was so right with her.
And then my eyes shifted to Suna and I felt my heart break as I saw the same burning curiosity in his eyes.
Of course.
Of course he’d have a thing for the Pretty new girl. After all, he says he’d want to be with an interesting girl. Someone who’s not too scared to take a risk. The way his eyes flicked to me when he answered that told me all I needed to know. He wasn’t into me. And I was perfectly fine with that.
“Does anyone know her name?” I asked. Suna let out a sigh. That sounded almost longing.
“Her name’s Heather.”
Conan Gray, save me.

”Do you believe in Aliens?” I looked up at him, my eyes meeting his smiling brown ones. He always had that kind of smile that made you feel like the special-est. Even when he asked odd questions, they always seemed tailored to coax actual answers out of me. They probably were. Most of the people at school tend to avoid me entirely. I don’t love talking much, but he’s always said that’s what drew him to me.
And he knows these kind of questions are my favorites.
“scientifically…” I said after a minute. I gazed at the night sky while our fingers were drawn together like a substrate to an enzyme. “There’s no evidence proving otherwise, especially since there’s thousands of other galaxies we’ve yet to explore… this entire universe…” I trailed off slightly, a wistful expression on my face. I marveled at how tiny we all were. “There’s no way there isn’t at least one other type of life out there…”
“what do you think it would look like?” He asked as we gazed at the stars together.
“Maybe they’d be all slimy, but slightly humanoid? They’d probably be more technologically advanced, because I feel like they’d be like, frozen underneath Neptune’s surface or something.” I sighed softly, my head turning to face him. “I just hope they can help us fix the state humankind has gotten Earth into…”
”what if they looked like human dinosaurs?” He asked- and it surprised me enough that a laugh slipped out.
“that’d be different.” I said as he turned, showing me that brilliant smile of his
“you’re different, and I like you. I think I’d like this human dinosaurs.” My cheeks warmed slightly as I processed what he said.
“i think I like you- I mean-the human Dinosaur Idea- a lot.” I said, squeezing his hand slightly which made his cheeks warm

[Preview] Choices Were Made (Oikawa Tooru x Female Reader)
I always knew he'd leave, and I always knew our relationship would go down as a friends with benefits type of thing. What I didn't expect? Well...
Volleyball was his first love, and Art was mine. I’d never make him pick between me and Volleyball, just like he’d never made me pick between him and Art.
Yes, I might be slightly in love, but it’s okay. Maybe we’re just better as friends. Even if I had watched his dreams into plans, and then into reality. That didn’t mean I had to be in his reality.
But as I’m hunched by the toilet, sick to my stomach, especially every time I glance at the pastel pink sticks in my trashcan, I wonder how I'm supposed to remember all that in a few months when I'm on my own for real.
Just a little Preview of something I'm working on, hopefully to be published in the summer on Ao3, but we'll see!
