I am forever grateful to an archivist mentor I worked with in grad school for some resume advice she gave me and thought maybe others would also benefit from it.

Keep a Master Resume.

This is not the resume you send out. This is a detailed resume of every job (with dates and location, supervisor and location phone number are a bonus) and as many skills/duties/accomplishments you can possibly think of for each and every one of the jobs and education programs you can think of.

She showed me hers, it was about 25 pages long, and formatted exactly like a regular resume for ease. Every time she would learn a new program/skill, she'd add it. Change in title or duties, add it. Complete something big/special/complicated/new to her/professionally significant, she would add it. This way when she went up for a promotion or raise, she had a detailed record of highlights to pick from to show she deserved it. There was no "when was that? Did I submit that last round of reviews?"

Applying to a new job? Pick and choose items from your Master Resume to plug in to the resume or CV you will be sending based on the job posting. You don't need to rewrite it, just cut and paste relevant details.

use thunderbird, mailfence, countermail, edison mail, tuta, or proton mail instead of gmail

remove bloatware on windows PC, macOS, and iOS X

remove bloatware on samsung X

use pixelfed instead of instagram or meta

use NCH suite for free software like a file converter, image editor, video editors, pdf editor, etc.

Personally, I think that if you have Perry the Platypus talk in a story where that isn't like... The point and gimmick of the story, that you're a coward. And that if you turn Perry into a human just so that you can have him speak, that you're even more of a coward! The man is a platypus. EMBRACE IT!!! To have him talk is a cop out.

Buuuuuut... If you're going to have him talk... I think that it would be funniest if he has just... The THICKEST Australian accent possible! Like, if you're going to be a coward, at least be a funny one!

No you're SO right about the CC kitchen scene and it's even funnier played out by live actors. Plus it's followed up by Draco flat out admitting how jealous he always was of Harry and his real friends, ugh these two actively repair their relationship on-screen through their kids going missing and it's great. There's a 👢🦵 floating around Tumblr and it's 100% worth a watch just for how funny this play gets with grown adults putting their entire chest into these dumbass lines (although it's got the pre-Covid hetero ending)

Dude it's just, I love it, that goddamn scene is so chaotic, they just start fighting and then Ginny enters and goes STOP JUST STOP WHY ARE YOU FIGHTING

And they panic because OMG she's right why are we fighting and oh no, the horror, we finally agree in sth and is this, and in classic Draco-Harry fashion they get shit done by doing sth that involves a third party: rescuing their kids who have way more emotional intelligence 😂 it's funny because it's the sillyness of it all what makes them snap out it, and it's beautiful, peak Harry Potter

I still think the book was meh, but I would absolutely love to watch the play. Pity I'm not from England or wherever the play is now 🫠

I read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child once, before JKR entered her TERF era and whatever and it was meh, probably on stage it's better but the storytelling is meh (that's all I'm gonna say about it here)

Anyway, random thought, the moment most in character of the whole book is a scene that may seem irrelevant but I feel it as a key point, it marks the beginning of the end, it's a turning point. You are not ready for what I'm going to say.

The kitchen scene.

Yep, I'm talking about the infamous (the whole play is infamous but that's a whole new topic) "Sorry for destroying your kitchen, Ginevra"

Like, Draco Malfoy goes to the Potter-Weasley house to talk to Harry and in classic Draco-Harry fashion, they end up having a magic duel and they destroy the kitchen while doing it. I'm not even surprised, at this point is an habit.

And then Ginny appears, and like the badass she is she starts berating them and even she sit them down like kids who have misbehaved lmao. She makes Harry apologizes, he complies, then Draco goes: "Sorry for destroying your kitchen, Ginevra" aka YOU'RE SCARY PLEASE DON'T KILL ME NOT EVEN MY FATHER WILL HEAR ABOUT THIS

And Ginny, like the unbothered queen youngest golden child of seven she is, goes: "Oh, it's not my kitchen. Harry does most of the cooking"

I mean, setting aside the whole "that's the play trying to be woke" thing that other people talk about (which is a valid point), I can totally see it, Harry is seen cooking on the first movie and Ginny probably burns water. And Draco, well, he's trying to be nicer, but turning yourself into a good person it's kind of hard when you are used to villainaize yourself at every turn.

So, do I think that whole exchange is in character? Yeah! I mean, after a whole book of reading Harry being an asshole it's kinda refreshing to see a dialogue that even matches the tone we see in the movies. It's something that I can see them doing, it doesn't feel forced, the characterization is on point and it made me laugh, which I think are important things.

The scene even is proof that the headcanon of making the three of them a throuple could totally work, that's some fanfic material right there, I mean, Drarry with a side of Ginny calling the shots? Sign me in.

It's a turning point, like I mentioned early because it paves the path to reconciliation between Harry and Draco (under Ginny's threat, which is funny af). They stopped being so hot headed and start thinking, hey, maybe we should finally talk like adults.

Dumbledore actually clocked Draco quite accurately as a young inexperienced boy who only made a succession of bad decisions. It must suck when all that finally catches to you (oh no! The consequences of my own actions!)

And Harry, well, he's Harry, he's oblivious as hell. We love him anyway.

Anyway, I'm rambling, DO YOU SEE MY VISION??? Let's recontextualixe the scene, forget the kids for a moment, let's say it's from a fanfic set in 2001 where Harry lives in Grimmauld Place, they are in their 20s, let's say everyone (Hermione, Ron, Ginny idk) comes and goes, whatever. And then comes one day Draco to try make amends and they start fighting (missiom failed successfully!). Then Ginny comes, berated them, Draco assumes she lives there when he apologizes, the same dialogue happens.

IT COULD TOTALLY HAPPEN. IS IN CHARACTER, I'M NOT CRAZY
