Well since I can finally post this publicly, here is my submission for the Undertale comic contest, the journey and tale of Alvia, the purple soul of perseverance, in this story we start in the middle of Alvia's journey, where a turning point is set and Alvia must face their strongest challenge yet... a giant turtle with a hammer? I hope y'all enjoy! i put a lot of effort into this and i hope whoever wins this year gets the praise they deserve! everyone worked so so hard this year and while we don't have a lot of submissions it was fun to see people's stuff! Please note that Undertale: pushing on was inspired by UTY but is non-canon to it, I have my own headcanons about UT that conflict with UTY and while that is fine it means that Alvia and Clover are non canon to each others properties or any other soul game, still I recommend you play the game, it has a lot of work put in it! this being said Alvia might be semi canon to Era of Integrity since I do try to directly imply something about Melody in this. if you enjoyed this check out the other comics in the contest! they aren't posted here yet but i'm sure they will be: https://undersprite.tumblr.com

Well! undertale pushing on got second place, i think that's pretty good! and third place wasn't very far behind that either! everyone did such a good job and if you haven't read their comics please do so. i do hope i'm able to do more stuff with Alvia at some point as it seems like people have enjoyed their journey, but for now I currently don't plan to do anything else with Alvia. at least currently, it's not like i really had snowdin or ruins planned or know how the full story would go.

2024 Comic Contest Results

Before we get started, I would like to extend a personal thank you to everyone who created an entry for the contest this year. Although we only got four entries this year, those four entries' dedication to telling stories that are novel and interesting for this community to enjoy is worthy of commendation in itself. For a while, I was scared we wouldn't even get enough entries to fill the podium; thanks to your efforts, this has not come to pass.

Since we have very few entries this time around, I'll be providing a link to each comic, with accompanying scores and excerpts from reviews. Now, catch the results under the cut:

With regards to prizes: the judge whom was contributing to our prize pool has begun college for the year, and unfortunately they were unable to set aside the money they had originally promised for the cash prize. an overwhelming majority of the really edgy aus that base themselves on the idea of sans "snapping" seem to work under the impression that there's a proportional relationship between sans' sanity and how many people are killed, so to make things easier, they just go ham with idk 10000 genocide runs and take it for granted that he'd go insane.

when actually, this thing is a bell curve. you kill few enough people? he can continue living his life like he doesn't care about it. you kill everyone? he's finally moved to act and do the right thing to prevent the timeline from ending. I'm tellin ya, it's in the MIDDLE that the fun happens. king mettaton ending, empress undyne ending... when you kill both toriel and papyrus but let the world live on a little more broken without them? now that's where he gets nasty.
